The Lucerne Hotel - نيويورك

It was the first time we stayed in the Upper West see of NYC - Good location and nice hotel for the price. W+Easy walk to Central Park. Quick ride to the East Side and museums and shopping.

The Lucerne was perfect - the room was spacious and beautifully decorated. The staff was very courteous and the gym was very well equiped.

The hotel was exactly as presented on their web site. I felt very safe both in the hotel and the neighborhood. The front desk personnel and bellmen were curteous and helpful. We ate in neighborhood restaurant and were very pleased. We (two women) felt comfortable walking in the park down to Columbus Circle and back (after dark) on Broadway. I would strongly recommend this hotel to friends and family.

This is the second time we stayed at the Lucerne Hotel, and we were very pleased with our stay. The hotel is extremely clean, and it was quiet even though there were numerous guests. The hotel restaurant Nice Matin has a wonderful breakfast menu. We will stay here again when we return to NYC.

WiiFi not working

I stayed four nights, and was not impressed with the room. The bed was not clean, there was hair on the sheets. I would suspect that the bedding was not changed prior to our arrival. We came from Australia and needed to borrow or buy a plug adapter. The desk staff would not help us with a plug nor did they offer any advice as to where we could purchase one! We bought two tickets for the Broadway show Wicked, $60 seats ended up costing us $180 each plus a $60 booking fee. The tickets had to be picked up at the Sheraton Hotel! Pretty poor service we thought.

My all- time favorite place for breakfast is Sarabeth's (1/2 block) and now a new Cuban discovery, Con Leche (1 1/2 blocks). Lucerne is all i'd want in a hotel where my stay is focused on the city itself.

Nice- Matin restaurant- we hardly ventured elsewhere for breakfast,lunch and dinner and post theatre needs--inspiring good food. helpful concierge. Walking distance to 79th st. Subway to theatre.

Overall a safe bet. No bad surprises. Wish they would convert old heavy bed spreads to new down comforters.

We loved the Lucerne! The bell service was great, self parking nearby was reasonable (make sure you tell them you are from Lucerne if they say they are full). Nice Matin, the French restaurant downstairs was great - we had a fantastic dinner there, but didn't try the breakfast. The bagel place across the street was our preferred breakfast stop. The hotel is in an old building, so it has its quirks, but it was exceptionally clean. The location is fantastic - in a very safe residential neighborhood with plenty of dining options, close to #1 subway, which takes you straight to Times Square and downtown, and right behind the Museum of Natural History and Central Park. We stayed here with our two kids (9, 12) and would definitely look to stay here again if/when we return.

I would recmmend this hotel with great enthusiasm. My stay was relaxing and the hotel management and staff were extremely helpful and courteous. The food delicious!

Great location in upper westside, convenient to subway and great restaurants. Nice Matim is attached to the hotel and is okay, but I would recommend walking one block to Sarabeth's - fantasticfor breakfast!

Charming hotel with lovely cafe next door. Close to many museums , restsurants and the park. Our room was on the 10 th floor and a bit noisy with banging pipes from heat or water lines. ..? We also noticed the bathroom sink had a leak on the cold water handle, but only a few drops. Traffic noise was noticeable too but typical of older hotels. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The beds were clean and comfortable. Loved having the NY Times delivered every morning! Great neighborhood. Overall, we liked the convenience of the location and would probably stay there again

While our stay at the Lucerne was comfortable and location wonderful, my experience at check in was not. We arrived at 3:45 Sat. afternoon hoping to check in, leave our car and expediently head down to the village to meet family. Unfortunately it took an especially long time to do so. The hotel clerk kept searching for an available room. While waiting, at least 2 other customers helped by another clerk, were given keys to their room and happily left the lobby. It occurred to me that perhaps the true hold up was because I had booked the reservation on line with Hotels.com. Maybe the Lucerne gives preference to customers paying full price.

The Lucerne is a great little hotel in a great neighborhood. Just one block to the 1,2&3 Subway and just around the corner from a dozen good restaurants. three blocks to Central Park & Riverside Park. Elizabeth the Concierge was very helpful in getting flowers delivered to our room as a surprise for my wife. We have stayed there many times and look forward to staying again. We have stayed here a couple of times now, and it has been great. It is an easy spot to drive to in NYC and have valet parking. It is right near Zabar's, a very fun kitchen and grocery store. Very close to Central Park and Strawberry Fields. The best part for us is the ease to jump on the subway and head a few stops up to Columbia where we have a student. The restaurant next store has a delicious breakfast, and there is wonderful wine bar around the corner called Tolani. The staff, and Conceirge are very helpful at the Lucerne, and make staying here a pleasure

The hotel had good accomodations and service, the location was convenient for access to NYC attractions and eating establishments.

Lovely hotel, everything was great. One small negative observation, the tiny closet was useless. It was not even deep enough to hang a coat!

Super friendly staff, great location (9 block to Broadway buses and subways, 3 blocks to Central Park). Arrived at 10 pm on Fri, installed ourselves in the Nice Matin cafe downstairs for wine and cheese = perfect. Sarabeth's is a block away for yummy breakfast. Room impeccable. Yes, small by modern standards, but quite acceptable for this 50ish couple for the weekend. No razzamatazz, but they deliver the basics here perfectly. Will definitely stay here again.

We loved the location of the hotel and the friendliness of the staff, plus parking was reasonably priced and fairly easy.

Great hotel, great service, and in a fun neighborhood. Close to the 79th street subway station

We were especially impressed with the courtesy and the efficiency of the hotel staff. We plan to use the Lucerne on our follow-up visits to NYC.

Based on one nights stay I would return here in a heartbeat. Even if it is a bit out of the way I would make a point of spending the night here. Things were just as they should be at this hotel. The room was small but very adequate and clean. All hotel reps were kind and very willing to help. Right next store is a great bistro where the chef knows his craft inside and out. I am a chef with very high standards and The Lucerene and the next door bistro exceeded my expectations.

We stayed here for three nights just before Christmas. It was our second time at the Lucerne, and although I would still consider it a fairly good hotel, I think the overall standard has definitely taken a turn for the worse. The first room we were given was a pokey shoebox next to the lift with a view of a wall. It was awful and we were very disappointed. When I complained, the receptionist was very helpful (all reception staff were extremely helpful throughout our stay) and we were given a different room. This was a lot better, so we were pleased with that, although if you are a light sleeper I would recommend that you get a room that does not face Amsterdam Avenue. On the whole, the staff were great, but the hotel is starting to feel a bit tired and although our room was comfortable enough I am not sure if I would return.

I love the Hotel Lucerne. The staff are very friendly, the rooms are comfortable, there are great restaurants nearby, the subway is nearby, and it's in a great neighborhood.

This is probably the 10TH time we were in this hotel over last 20 years.Love the location and the hotel.

The hotel and the room were very nice and clean. My only complaint is with the employees at the door sincewe were 3 women and no one offered to help us in with our bags or to help us put our bags in our car when we were leaving. We were trying to hail a cab in the morning and had to ask someone from the hotel for help, and he walked up the street without saying anything so we weren't sure if he was hailing a cab for us or not. I walked to him and asked him if the ABC studios were to the right and he said they were to the left and after walking that way we learned that ABC was, in fact, to the right. I don't understand why he wouldn't know that but nonetheless we headed off in the wrong direction. The employees at the front desk were very nice though. The ones outside weren't rude, just not helpful at all.

Our favorite hotel in our favorite neighborhood (Upper Westside) in our favorite city (New York)!!!!!! We have stayed here a number of times and every time was a joy.

THE PARKING WAS HORRIBLE. THE PARKING LOT ACROSS FROM THE HOTEL DID NOT ACCOMODATE OVERNIGHT GUEST!! AS A RESULT WE HAD TO TRAVEL BLOCKS TO ANOTHER LOT!! THE BELLMAN GAVE CONFUSING DIRECTIONS.
