Super staff , great location at reasonable rate. Liked the towels and bed linens. Great restaurant.

Beautiful Art Deco hotel. Great restaurant. Not exactly sound-proof, so pretty hard to sleep before 2 am when the discos along the Ocean Blvd settle down

This trip was just for a quick getaway to the beach and to the Florida Keys. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms had been very well maintained for a hotel of this age. The location of the hotel was perfect. We were right in the middle of the South Beach scene and we enjoyed sitting at the outdoor restaurant and people watch. Since this hotel was on the southern end of the strip, it made it an easy drive down to the keys for a day trip.

The service was absolutely amazing. Very accommodating and fun. Room was small, but that's ok for a hotel built in the Art Deco era. Bed was very comfortable and with ear plugs, we slept sound. The walls are a bit thin so you can hear the footsteps above you and the tv next to you, but not horrible. Location was amazing. I can't imagine staying at any other location.

The Avalon staff was terrific. The rooms are acceptable for an old building-not overly large or luxorious but clean with a comfortable bed. My issue was with South Beach. Parking is a nightmare. There's a steady stream of drunken revelers and police activity. It was difficult to sleep with all that noise.

We try to get to SoBe once a year and love to stay at the Avalon. It's a great old art deco place with lots of atmosphere. Right across from the beach on Ocean and in the heart of the historical art deco district. With so much to do right there, we rarely use our car for the 3 days we stay. The breakfast was included in our reservations. It was fresh and plentiful and even had a omelet station. Everything was delicious. Our beds were fresh and crisp with all white linens, as were the bath towels. There was something like coffee splashed on the bathroom walls which was unfortunate but we just lived with it.

I only stayed 2 nights, it was clean and in a great location. It's not a luxury hotel but to be honest, who spends a lot of time in their hotel bedroom when on holiday? Breakfast wasn't amazing but again, I didn't care too much. I would definitely go there, it's clean, comfortable and friendly and breakfast and wireless are included, which is not always the case in Miami hotels. Very close to News Cafe and Mangos!

This is is a basic hotel. the room is small, no frills.. the service of the staff was outstanding. everyone was so nice and helpful. the room was cleaned everyday. There have a beautiful restaurant located in the hotel Lobby. the location cant be beat, right on Ocean drive, across the street from the beach. in the heart of all the action

While the location cannot be beat, the condition of the hotel in NO WAY justifies the price. For a 2-night stay I shelled out nearly $700! The room was TINY and quite old. Serious updating is needed. The staff was extremely helpful and professional.

George was great! Helpful, accommodating, courteous.

The hotel was very nice. The nightlife of Ocean Blvd can be very noisy if you sleep before midnight.

Let us check in early and upgraded us for free. Great view of the beach! Great location next to a bunch of restaurants!

Although not directly on the beach the Avalon is a nice place to stay in the middle of everything that is SoBe. Def pricey but rooms are very comfortable and staff are helpful.

food was amazing. location very good. we went there lastweek, perfect timing for art deco, we had so much fun. couldn't ask for more for the price we paid for a southbeach hotel. i will stay at avalon with my next visit there

Great location in Art Deco area. Stayed three nights from Sunday to Wednesday and had a great time taking in the sounds and lights of south beach. It's perfect if you like to enjoy music as its right amongst it all. Great breakfast, only way to park car is valet so add extra dollars to budget. I will stay at the Avalon again if ever in Miami.

It can get loud into the early hours of the morning on weekends.

We had a great time when we visited South Beach. The hotel is nice, clean, and convenient. Some hotels in the area have beach chairs in the room, this does not. They rent they out down at the beach for $10/pp. Continental breakfast is included and is enough for even the hungry teenager. The rooms are small, but typical art deco hotels are. We would consider it for another time. Public parking garage is conveniently nearby

The staff was very friendly at check in and the whole time we were there. The location is perfect, being across the street from the beach and close to all the activity of Ocean Dr. The hotel is older but our room was very clean and comfortable and we will definitely there again.

Great location and the service was very good. The rooms are older and cramped but then again it's Miami's deco district

The hotel has a lot of potential, but needs SERIOUS redecorating and updates. It was really more hostel-like than a hotel....I wouldn't recommend staying here or stay here again.

Fantastic! Love Avalon. The best time I have had in Miami and I'm ready to stay at The Avalon again. I hated leaving. All of the staff really take care of you.

This hotel was perfect for our vacation needs. We started off with complimentary breakfast which had good choices so we were definitely satisfied. Our room was a great size and very comfortable. The hotel was very accomadating for holding our luggage and giving us towels for the beach across the street. The location was incredible! We would definitely recommend staying there and would go back in a heartbeat.

I have been to Miami a few times but never stay on Ocean Drive. This hotel is right in the middle of everything. Room was small but its Miami no one stays in the room anywhere. If you are a light sleeper, dont get a room on the first floor. You can hear everything outside your window.

The neighborhood is awesome and so is the hotel's restaurant. The room was small and the bed was uncomfortable. Good breakfast.

My friends and I stayed at the Avalon for one night before heading out on a cruise the next day. The hotel is in an awesome location across the street from a beautiful beach. Great price for the location and breakfast the next morning. The front desk workers were very nice. The hotel looked slightly rundown, and the room was small, but it was clean and quiet, so it served its purpose! I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to find a cheaper room along the beach. Seriously awesome location.

All went well according to plan and we were very satisfied.

Staff was polite and helpful. Front desk location in the middle of a loud restaurant is challenging during dinner service. Valet parking was very helpful when we arrived on a busy night. Location across from the beach is great. Location near nightclubs is fine if that is what you are looking for.

Room was a bit small, but clean. Breakfeast is good. Location of course is excellent. Service good. Very good value for Ocean. Would stay again

Hotel Avalon is in a great location ! Stayed there this weekend during Miami carnival and had a great time. The rooms were small and showed signs of wear and tear. My room faced the hotel kitchen and the phone service was horrible no matter what company you had, I had to stand next to the window to take calls! I asked to be moved but because it was Carnival time there were no available options. There never really seemed to be anyone at the front desk, and as the restaurant is right at the front of the entrance pretty much anyone can come and go. That all being said the hotel is in a great location on the strip. Lots of hotels nearby so you'll always run into people. The beach is directly across the street! The rooms were kept clean and the bedding was super soft and fresh! I would def come back but next time a room not facing the kitchen would be preferable!
