All employees were professional and very helpful. Breakfast is limited to what you would expect in Australia, though the selection was up to standard and good quality. Would recommend this hotel to family and friends. Very Nice location and close to cafes, restaurants and pubs etc.

Very convenient hotel

I happened upon this hotel while planning my trip. I decided to risk it because the rates were affordable. I received much more than I bargained for. The Hotel itself has a fantastic location by the library and a 10 minute walk to Gamla Stan. The staff was not only helpful and warm, but they also catered to our every need whether it was directions to Ikea or pain relievers for a headache. The room was spacious with a lovely view over the surrounding neighborhood. I always felt comfortable and cozy when I returned from a long day of sightseeing. It was a great experience and Stockholm was even more welcoming with its help. I will definitely return next time!

Excellent service, beautiful room and great locarion.

Great location, near shopping streets and museums etc. Street side rooms are quite noisy because of traffic. Fine small room with super limited minibar-not even one bottle of local beer! Bed was too hard for sleeping. Breakfast normal Nordic level. Superior for southern europe visitors.

Really nice Hotel in an excellent location. Bedrooms are much quieter at the back of the Hotel ask for Courtyard rooms. Extremely friendly staff especially in the breakfast room. Lots to eat at breakfast time. This is an excellent Hotel for the price I paid in January 2012 Bedroom was a single standard very small 415 but very clean and TV in the room bathroom small but adequate. Great

First of all, the location of the hotel is more than convenient as it is in a walking distance from the metro station and most of the shops, cafes and bars of the area. The hotel is well-preserved, clean and offers really comfortable beds! I totally recommend it since it is very reasonably priced for the value it offers. Have a nice stay!

a very good hotel, middle of the city centre, with bars,and restaurants close to the hotel. i enjoyed the hotel during my stay, and the hotel staff were also friendly and helpful.. i will definitly go there again, and recommend it 2 everyone..

Stayed at double economy room for 3 nights. Room was surprisingly good and hotel is located within 5 min walk from nice shopping possibilities and subway. Excellent hotel for reasonable price.

Admittedly, the hotel is very well located, within 250m walking of the Östermalmstorg station and maybe a 20min walk of the central station. The price was also reasonable. However, there are some caveats: The room was both noisy and drafty. The window, facing the main road, was not isolated to either noise or thermally. During the night, the sounds of a nearby nightclub can be heard via the road, and in the morning, traffic is quite intense. The same window also spewed masses of cold air into the room, which mean the heater had no chance to compete... a pretty cold room. The breakfast was provided with a good selection of foods. However, one more drawback here: the service personnel wasn't really very professional, standing in the way and observing the clients. They were also having extremely noisy conversations with several colleagues/friends in the middle of the dining room. Not the place to enjoy a quiet breakfast.

Hard beds - lousy internet - the WIFI is too weak - could be improved

Stayed here for 3 nights from 21st August. Very welcoming reception. Hotel is a pleasant walk to centre of the city with interesting shops and huge variety of cafes and restaurants along the way.The room was comfortable and spacious and hotel foyer area was a relaxing spot with a bar.

Wonderful old building. Good localization but the room was small. Very friendly staff.

THE CRYSTAL PLAZA IS A VERY GOOD HOTEL FOR BUSINESS OR VACATIION. THE ROOM IS VERY NICE AND QUITE BIG. THE LOCATION IS EXCELLENT. YOU CAN WALK TO ALL THE TORIST ATTACTION IN CENTRAL STOCKHOLM

The Crystal Plaza Hotel in Stockholm was OK but not special. I booked a supposedly large single room, but it seemed very small to me. Some of the furniture was old and worn, but the bed was newish and comfortable with lovely fresh clean white linen. The breakfast was also quite good. It was also good value compared to many oher hotels in that area.

A very comfy hotel at a reasonable price in Stockholm. Within walking distance of anything you might want to see. Plus the breakfast buffet is well done and included in the room rate. Our room faced the street on the 2nd floor, so it was a tad noisy when traffic picked up, but wasn't so loud that we couldn't sleep with the windows open

The Crystal Plaza Hotel is located in a wonderful neighborhood in Stockholm, convenient to shopping, the T-bahna, restaurants, parks and museums. The hotle staff was helpful and friendly. Although the rooms are small, they have everything one needs and the bathrooms are spacious and pretty. The breakfast is plentiful with a wide variety of choices. Overall, a charming hotel for a stay in Stockholm.

A good 3 star hotel. The breakfasts were excellent. One slight problem was the traffic noise - and as a light sleeper I was distrurbed somewhat in our first floor room. Also there was quite a bit of late night noise at weekends from a nearby bar and for these reasons I have downgraded the 'comfort factor' of our room, which was otherwise excellent. The hotel is well located for the city buses.

We loved staying at the Crystal Palace. Our room was in the turret part of the hotel; it was round and had 6 huge windows. It was one of the largest rooms I've ever stayed in. The furniture was "antique" painted turquoise. Cute. The bed was comfy. The Bath was very modern. The breakfast, which is included in the room price, was an excellent buffet. Such a nice way to start the day. The street is tree-lined with beautiful old buildings. The hotel is a block from a huge park which surrounds the library. There is a nice little restaurant/bar on the edge of the park which was a fun place to eat, and then take a long walk before bed. The neighborhood is on the edge of a fashion district, with blocks and blocks of high-end stores. Fun to walk and window shop. Stockholm is such a lovely city, and The Crystal Palace is a good place to enjoy it from.

Over all the Crystal Plaza is a lovely hotel. My Standard Single room was lagge enough with ample wardrobe (closet) space for my 11 night stay. The WC/ Shower was clean, three fresh towels daily. Breakfast were excellant with lots of choice both hot and cold dishes - DIY fresh waffles a must have ! The only down-side if you are at the front of the hotel is the amount of noise from near by night clubs/bars whioch went on untill 02.00/03.00 hours Luckily I had ear plugs. If you want a lot of sleep request a back room at the time of booking -Having been to Stockholm 22 times I think I have now found the perfect CITY CENTRE hotel & I will certainly use this hotel again

Excellent location. Sauna is a plus. Breakfast was OK.

I think this hotel is great, for a 3star. The location was very good and the room ( a standard single) was perfectly adequate to my needs, clean, with a good bathroom. Breakfasts were quite good, plenty of varied food at any time (even cooked food, if you like that - I don't), and the staff was quite helpful.

The rooms may not be large but ours was clean and had everything you'd want in a hotel. When you visit a city like Stockholm it's not like you're hanging out in your room anyway! We slept well and the breakfast was top-notch. They let you store your bags before/after check-in/out which was handy. The staff was friendly and helpful and spoke perfect English. I'd definitely stay here again.

The room was comfortable and clean and the buffet breakfast was good (I liked the fact you could make your own waffles and for late risers it is till 11.30am at the weekend) However it was quite warm when we were there-20-25 degrees during the day and the room didn't have air conditioning which meant we had to leave the windows open at night. Not a problem in itself but there were a couple of bars near which blared out music from about 12 till 2am so difficult to sleep. Obviously wouldn't be a problem if you didn't go to bed till after 2am! There's a SvD bikestand across the road so handy if you are cycling and a 7/11 is very close too.

This is a traditional hotel which has received upgrades such as electronic room keys and modern showers. Our room on third floor was small, clean and comfortable but had no airconditioning and faced a very busy, noisy street. We would ask for a rear facing room next time. Breakfast buffet is excellent. Service is good with facilitiy for leaving bags on day of departure. All in all a good choice for our short stay.

The staff at the Crystal Plaza were exceptionally helpful. They booked a tee time at a very nice golf course for me and provided all of the transportation information to me thus ensuring that I could focus on the golf and not the logistics. They were helpful in other ways as well, booking taxis, making reservations for dinner, etc. The hotel itself is quite nice. Our first stay of three days was in a room in which the bathroom was too small. When we returned after a few days out of the city, we were given a nicer room with a larger bathroom--for the same price. Our hotel made our stay in Stockholm very enjoyable.

This hotel is well located in Ostermalm where there is lots of shopping. Also, the tunnelbana (metro) is just a short walk down the street. However, the single rooms are very tiny. For me, it was fine since I had some banking business to take care of in the area, but it may not be the best for a tourist that does not know Stockholm well.

We enjoyed the breakfast buffet with lots healthy choices. The location is several blocks from the main tourist attractions, but that was appealing to us as we could walk to attractions and explore neighborhoods along the way. There was easy access to the underground, as well. There is nothing "fancy" about the hotel and it has quite a bit of older charm.

The hotel is very well located, of good to modest quality with similar service. We encountered one problem that all should be aware. Laundry is excessively expensive. It's about 10 times what one would consider reasonable, and this is from a person who has traveled worldwide over the past 30 years! The hotel claims that they have no laundry alternative. I can't believe this, and I think even offering this service without a large posted disclaimer is bad business. The laundry bags do not list prices, for the prices are tucked into the hotels information booklet. This is poor practice for a hotelier. We travel for long (3 - 4 week periods and only use carry on luggage, so we depend upon laundry service. If we would have been made aware of the price we would have found a laundromat as we have done before.

This hotel is in the middle of Stockholm. If you are a tourist that likes to be in a nice hotel, with a budget I would recommend this hotel. I myself have stayed with it several times and its a price worthy normal hotel. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are ok. Its not Marriott but better than most city hotels.

Fine for one night but the last guest's used soap still being in the shower tray and a swirl of their hairs in the plug area really didnt please me much. The bar VURMA across the road was pleasant a snack and beer.

We booked the hotel because of the central location and general feedback from travel website. To be honest, we weren't expecting somthing extra-ordinary and ironically it wasn't something extra-ordinary. :) We did a lot of sight-seeing (9-midnight) so only used the hotel for sleeping, so the sleeping and comfort was ok, bed was ok, the room wasn't not noisy, but the general feel of the room was just a bit more than hostel private room. That being said, it's not really recommended for romantic getaways but just to crash for a short while, it does the job. The breakfast buffet was average, nothing special, nothing too bad, your standard continental breakfast. p.s. no wifi in the hotel though there's a computer to use in main hall.

We stayed here for 2 nights our first (short) trip to Stockholm. The hotel was a bit further away from the harbour/tourist area but only a short walk (~10 min) which fine for us and gave us a better value than what we would have paid closer to the water. The breakfast was VERY good - lots of variety and enough food to tide us over for almost the entire day. The only issues we had relate to room comfort - although our room was quite spacious, there was a slight sewer smell in the bathroom and during our second night (a Saturday) we could hear club music (bass) nearby. Overall, this hotel met our needs and was in a great location. We would recommend this hotel to others who are looking for a good value hotel for a short stay in Stockholm (and perhaps it's more quiet on weekdays?).

perfect everything--price, location, service, cleanliness and quiet

Pros: 1- But the location is spectacular. The hotel is 2 minutes from the T-Bana entrance (this was my wife and I's primary mode of transportation while on vacation in Stockholm). Ostermalm, the surrounding area, turned out to be our favorite area in Stockholm: plenty of shops, proximity to parks, nearby restaurants, short walk to the harbor. If you are concerned about not being close to Central Station, don't let that turn you away. Subway and cab are both great options to/from the station. We took a cab for about 50 SEK (~$8 USD). 2- Breakfast is great. There is an amazing variety: cold cuts, homemade jams (the raspberry is amazing), breads, cheeses, eggs, sausage, wafflemaker, juices... 3- Affordable. We couldn't find a better deal. Cons: 1- The rooms are rather small. A bed, a tiny sitting area, a tiny bathroom (with a tiny shower), and that's it. 2- Front Desk service was mediocre. They were mostly friendly, but you didn't get the type of service you would find at a ritzier hotel. Restaurant Suggestions: Vapiano (Ostermalm)- affordable, delicious Italian food Bla Porten (Djurgarden)- affordable Swedish food *Eriks Gondolen (Sodermalm)- semi expensive international food (at least go for a drink in the bar that overlooks all of Stockholm)

Stayed here for three nights. I can't really give an in-depth review with many details; I really only used the hotel to sleep. I was out very early in the mornings, out all day, came back at night to immediately crash. That said, the room was a good size (I stayed in a single). It was clean, although the ceiling was a bit water-stained in places. Huge shower, which I liked, and very quiet. No climate control — the room was generally too warm for my taste, but cracking the window open to let the cool April air in immediately rectified that. Friendly staff, good location — could walk to basically anywhere in the city center within a half hour.
