Hotel staff very friendly. Nice size room. Clean. Only complaint was mattress was very hard and bed pillows very small. In room safe, micro and frig.

Overall, we were satisfied with our stay at the Comfort Inn Riverfront in May 2013. As the name implies, the hotel is located on the bank of a river (the Susquehanna River), which provides for a nice view of the river and the many bridges crossing the river. Unfortunately, we had a room overlooking the hotel's front parking lot. The hotel is a short distance from the city center, but is walkable if the weather cooperates. Our hotel appeared clean and the staff was friendly and offered restaurant suggestions (though we did not take them up on the offer as we had a previous commitment). The hotel offers guest WiFi, free continental breakfast and has a small fitness center for guests. Our hotel room was of a decent size and had a flat panel television. The bed was relatively stiff and had very small pillows. We also think the room smelled of mold, but are not 100% sure of this. I don't think we would stay at the hotel again if we return to Harrisburg as we would probably like to book a hotel closer to downtown near restaurants, etc.

Staff was very pleasant Location by river was nice. Free parking was a bonus Bed was less than comfortable Walls are thin so u can clearly hear the neighbors. Alot of activity in hall ways late at nite for some reason Hotel suited my basic needs

The hotel was very convenient and wonderfully located on the River front. The only negative is the friendliness of the front desk when we arrived.

Room clean, bathroom ceiling was falling down. Hotel service ok.

Staff was helpful and pleasant..The room are old and in need of work. Very dissappointed for a Comfort Inn

Honestly, the hotel itself was good and the price was about right. But starting at around 10:30PM I felt like I was on a frat party cruise ship. The hallway was filled with non stop yelling and laughing. More than once someone slammed against my door. It was clear that there were several people drinking and carrying on between rooms. Unfortunately, I was just down the hall from the front desk so I am certain it was no secret.

Good location and fair price for what you get, but the design of the hotel made it noisy when others came through, closed doors, etc. Not the cleanest but much cheaper than other downtown hotels.

We enjoyed the convenience of the hotel. Liked being able to walk into the shopping/downtown area. Enjoyed watching the river and the trains going over the bridge. Good breakfast. Staff was very helpful and courteous.

Hotel is not bad at all. Breakfast was nice, the staff is friendly and the room is clean. Pillows are a bit on the small side. Bed was comfty and the heat worked well on the cold nights I was was there.

We enjoyed the location and the staff were very friendly. We stayed the weekend of St Pattys Day so there were enough late nighters up and about to keep us awake, which always makes me long for better soundproofing. It was fine for a night.

a litttle noisy but will get a water view next year

The only problem we had was the mattress was too hard, but that is just personal preference. Despite facing the freeway, our room was still quiet and we did not hear traffic noise. The breakfast that was included had a nice selection of food. The river with the river walk was right behind the hotel. An added bonus if the weather is nice. The people at the front desk were very pleasant and helpful, there was a fridge and microwave in the room.

Nice stay. There for just a night. Comfy room, quiet place nice continental breakfast.

Old musty and moldy. Only nice thing by the river .

It was exactly what we were looking for, location was perfect, the only change I would recommend is bring your own pillows. Pillows were very small

The room was clean and the staff was friendly. I appreciated the key security to get into the entrances not in the front.

I was taking my 93 year old mom to a concert at the Whitaker Center. I found the Comfort Inn online that morning. It was perfect. The staff was so wonderful. The room was right down the hall & had a handicapped-accessible bathroom. The river view was so pretty. And the breakfast buffet was excellent. A perfect experience.

Hotel was moderately priced, and close to my destination. Only a couple of minutes from the Harrisburg hospital where a family member was located. Decent breakfast in the mornings, quiet, river from view. Overall, a good place to stay.

It was a decent place to stay. I only have a small problem with the type of pillows in the guest rooms. They put 4-5 small "square" pillows on the King size bed whereas I prefer the longer "rectangle" shape pillows. The small pillows are uncomfortable when I turn my head as I sleep then my head "falls" off the small pillow. Other than that--great place to stay!

found to be a clean hotel .Knowlegeable staff recommended a great brew pub for dinner,.recommend a walk along the river at sunset.

I needed an inexpensive hotel close to the Capitol building in Harrisburg, and this hotel is about a 20-minute walk from it. The people at the front desk were very friendly, and the bed was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was a bit dirty, with some mildew stains on the shower head and a slow bathtub drain. But overall I was very satisfied with the hotel.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, in Shypoke (not sure of spelling) ,a charming historic neighborhood on the edge of downtown. The pool is not too clean because of traffic dust and bugs from the river, but the view is just great. You can sit and read and watch the train spotters on Saturday morning. The trains stop and mug for the photographers as they pass by. The great flood levels are marked on the bridge. Unusual and fine shopping and restaurants very close by, Strawberry Square, The Plum, etc. Fabulous taverns. The captiol building, John Harris Mansion, the museum, all that stuff is within walking distance. The staff is very polite. And when it's time to go, 83 is right there. We had a good time.

This place needs new wallpaper and carpets. Numerous dings in the walls in public areas, and the carpets are stained. Did this place get flooded during Hurricane Irene? The air conditioning in our room was a little underpowered. Access from the motel back to the street is awkward, requiring a full circle around the hotel on one way streets.

Family fun day at Hershey Park which is 20 minutes away. We had multiple rooms reserved. Found and killed a roach. Tubs were dirty. Toilets were dirty. Not recommended. Pack our bags and left at 1AM

My travels took me to Harrisburg, and being in close proximity to downtown Harrisburg is very good. However, the hotel is older and although the amenities are fair, the bed was a little slouchy, pillows were flat, the floor of the bathtub had a film that made it slippery. And though it's not the fault of the hotel, there is a car audio installation shop directly across the street that "tested" the speakers past 10:30pm, so unless you're a fan of deep bass and are a very late sleeper, I'd recommend a different locale.

The air condition did not work we were told maintenance would come to fix it which they never showed up. Also there was a black hairball in the bath tub and the toilet would not flush properly and the internet would disconnect every few seconds. We were also told upon check out the manager would contact us when he came in and of course he never did this is the worst hotel stay I have ever had

Nice pool and close to Harrisburg park

Our first room wasn't clean and our 2nd room was a bit better. Hindsight, we would have requested our $ back and gone elsewhere.

The hotel is off the beaten path but is close to where I needed to be. Good place to stay for a night or 2.

Customer Service was not good. We had requested a crib in our room which we was confirmed 2 weeks in advance. Upon check-in were were informed that there was no crib for us, and the only solution for us was to go buy a pack and play. There was absolutely no attempt to help us with a solution although we asked about many options. We would not recommend this hotel.

I've stayed here before, and think the service, the Internet access and the cleanliness of the place has improved since last summer. Biggest draw: location, dramatic view of and walking near the River, and a wonderful Indian restaurant across the parking lot. For the money and being able to walk into town, this hotel is just fine. It's not fancy, it's not superior -- but the bed and bathroom were clean and comfortable, coffee & breakfast were hot and comparable to other like hotels, and the desk clerk was graciously able to allow me late checkout. I was satisfied and would stay here again.

Overall it was a good deal. The hotel did seem a little run down but the room decor at least was updated. The Indian restaurant next store was amazing- check it out. I d stay there again.

Front desk personal go out of their way to help the guests.

bdr area was fine. the bathroom was not. there was mold starting in bathtub and other areas of the bath

Hotel was not off of highway as was stated in info. It's an ok hotel if you cannot get in any other place and have to spend the night because your passing thru. Not very clean and hasn't been renovated since it was built.
