Hotel Morgana - روما

Hotel is in a very good location - easy to get most of sites in Rome. Says it is 4 star but more like 2 star for most people from the USA. Room was packed with 4 beds for the family to the point there was no space to walk. Strange smoking smell from air conditioner. Breakfast was good value at half price. Good hotel for 2 people, but too small for a family of 4.

This suited us perfectly. Great breakfast and clean rooms (though we did have to ask to move our first room as the bathroom didn't smell very nice) However, this was done immediately and with a room upgrade so no complaints. Convenient location for all Ancient Roman sights - within walking distance and an easy taxi or metro ride to The Vatican and St. Peters. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful and all in all, we had a very enjoyable stay.

Hotel was just few hunded meters from the Romes main train- and bus station Termini. Personnel was polite and correct. Room was behing few turns but it was nice and clean and had jacuzzi in it. Breakfast was "ok".

A wonderful combination of old world charm with modern conveniences. Excellent HVAC and plenty of hot water.

The staff were very helpful and the hotel was clean. It is located two blocks from the central train, bus, and metro station which is very convenient. The rooms are small as are the beds, but this is Europe. The two elevators accomodate only two people at a time and you must climb a flight of stairs get to them. At checkout, you must pay in cash, three euros per person per night city tax which was a surprise. Overall, this is a nice hotel and I will stay there again.

Hotel seemed to be in the middle of being decorated. Work started in nearby room 9am. Drinks extortionate, 19.50 euros for 2 drinks! On the plus side, staff all very friendly and helpful.

The staff is wonderful, they went out of there way to make sure we had everything we needed. They even up graded us, charged our iPhone and iPad.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was big and beautiful. Very close to the train station. This is our second time staying here and it won't be our last.

Convenience to the train station and nearness to the metro were some of our favorite things about this place. We booked this hotel because of the great reviews online, and because the photos online painted the picture of a modern hotel, with recently renovated rooms. Unfortunately, we were clearly given a room on a floor that had not been renovated. Immediately we felt duped and disappointed - this is the hotel we were to spend Christmas in. The room was very small, which we could easily have tolerated, but it was almost entirely mirrors. Perhaps this is attractive for some travelers, but not for us. We found the staff generally unaccommodating. Every time we had a request we were told to call back or come back in half an hour. Never were we given immediate service. We found this very off-putting. The bathroom looked recently redone and was the nicest part of the room, but there was absolutely zero counterspace, which was hard for two travelers. The area is very close to the train station, but all of the restaurants are quite touristy and at night it is a little daunting to walk through. Not the most comfortable of neighborhoods. Perhaps they are about to renovate the floor we stayed on, but the masking tape barricading the doors throughout the hall we stayed in, coupled with missing ceiling tiles did not give us a great impression of our floor. We stayed at four hotels throughout our trip, and this was the only one where we felt like what we read online did not match what we received upon arrival. Having had such great luck reading other hotels.com reviews and ratings, we were truly disappointed. We would have been able to enjoy Rome more if we had a comfortable place to stay, especially during the holidays.

Overall, we were pleased with the hotel. The room was very small, but we expected this for a budget hotel in Europe. We had a quadruple room with 4 twin beds for a family of 4. The beds were lined up and had little space between. Otherwise the room was clean, quiet, and nicely decorated. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The staff spoke perfect English. The location was ideal for travel by metro or local tour bus. Easy access from Rome Ciampino airport via the terravision bus service to Termini Station. The hotel was 1 block from the metro / train station, which gave easy access, but as expected the surrounding neighborhood was busy, crowded and slightly run down. There were several restaurants on the same steet as the hotel. The Termini station also had a variety of shopping and small eateries. We purchased tickets for an open air "hop on and off" tour bus at the Termini station. THere were several tour lines to choose from. We encountered several street peddlers for the bus lines, but would advise looking for the tourist information booth just outside the Termini station and dealing with them for the tour bus tickets. We never felt unsafe, however did not stay out very late (usually back at the hotel by 9-9:30 pm). I had read reviews prior to our trip about the hotel front door being locked all the time. This was true, however did not seem as ominous after staying here. The locked doors are for security, however, as I said, I did not feel unsafe on the streets immediately surrounding the hotel. The hotel breakfast was also quite good.

Our stay was great. The rooms are clean, quiet, and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with a huge variety of fresh foods. It is very easy to get everywhere in Rome via the central train station. Also, the major tourist sites are mostly walkable from the hotel.

We stayed in this hotel our last 2 nights in Rome, We were looking for transportation convenience to main terminal as we were traveling back from Naples by train and then heading to airport by train. The location was perfect for this, The hotel staff was very nice, breakfast was fabulous. Neighborhood was typical for areas near main train stations in large cities, not very inviting, Upon checkin we were told that we were "upgraded" to a more modern room in the annex. The annex was about a block from the main hotel. Although the room was very nice, modern and clean, the annex was not ideal--a bit desolate to walk to, big gate with key to enter, not a comfortable feeling to do this alone. The only other issue was the shower. The door was only a small partition and took a bit to figure out how to keep water from not getting all over the floor, and water temperature was difficult to regulate--got very very hot suddenly. Overall, nice hotel but only recommend if this is not your first time in Rome, are aware of the neighborhood and are looking for main terminal convenience.

The room was very small and old not as shown on the web.

Room is a bit small. Bathroom window should be frosted because people from other room can see into the bathroom,had to take shower in near darkness. Room is clean and have free WiFi service.Decor is pretty neat.

Very next to Roma Termini. easy to find. very nice room and bathroom. looked same as picture from hotels.com. No internet. available for paid internet. staffs are helpful. near by lot of restaurants to eat.

Hotel Morgana offers a convenient location very near the Termini Station (primary train and metro/subway station in Rome) and very nice breakfast options. If you don't mind staying outside of central Rome, and you're willing to have a smaller room that falls in a 4 star hotel, this would not be a bad option. I found some of the hotel staff to be very helpful and pleasant. FYI - there is a 4 euro per day tax that is added for each day you stay in the hotel which wasn't mentioned at time of booking, and told to me directly on check-in. The wi-fi in the hotel is also pretty expensive at 10 euros per day.

Excellent Service from all the staff. All of them were willing to help in anyway that they could. The hotel and the location was fantastic.

My husband and I visited Rome twice this month and we stayed at Hotel Morgan both times. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The location is minutes away from shopping and tons of food options. They have a great breakfast buffet in the morning with all types of options. i would highly recommend staying here.

We were 4 staying in one room and have no complaint exept that there were no storing place/ closets for so many persons, and the room was not big enough to have four suitcases on the floor.

Upon arriving at the hotel, there was NO ELECTRICITY!!! There were about 30 other people in the lobby wondering what to do, the girl at the desk was completely unhelpful, there was no manager on premises. I can't comment on the cleanness or comfort of the room, as I was unable to see it!!!! Had to go to a different hotel, no reservation, walk-in rates - & I'm still running after a refund! Things happen, but at least help your guests find alternate accommodations

Really enjoyed our stay. Room was very nice perhaps not as generous as those in the photos but compact as European hotels can be. Great location near Termini, always easy to find our way back. Good service and a great breakfast.

We stayed at the Morgana with two other couples. All of us really enjoyed the hotel. Clean, tidy, friendly and in a good central location. Breakfast was always excellent. Just make sure you ask for your coffee to be piping hot...the Romans tend to serve them warmish.

It is a well price hotel in Rome...he location is not the prime luxury, but the price and the decent service makes the trip very comfortable and feel good...I am very satisfy with this hotel overall..thumbs up!

booked two rooms for three nights from hotel.com. breakfast was not included in the price. the hotel is conveniently located within a block from the termini station. great location if you are planning to explore rome by train. hotel is clean, but rooms are very dated. beds were old and not very comfortable. positves: their breakfast buffet was surprisingly very good. lots of variety with cold and hot dishes. staff was friendly and helpful. a market was nearby, so you could buy water, bottles of wine, snacks at reasonable prices. we felt safe in the neighborhood, it was quiet, surrounded by other hotels and lots of cafes. hotels.com listed this hotel as a four star, but if you are expecting a typical american 4 star hotel, you will be disappointed. this is a nice hotel but if you are used to staying at an american 4 star hotel like a marriott or hyatt, i would not recommend this hotel.

The hotel is very close to termini station which is handy. Its also not a far walk to the colosseum and the like however theres not much to do within the immediate area. The hotel is quite old and the rooms are very dated. The beds were smaller and stiffer than most. If you can get a good deal it might be worth it but booking early enough and you'll find much better alternatives around.

Hotel Morgana is situated near Termini and this location makes the hotel easy to find and gives good access to public transportation. Rome is a wonderful city and for instance Colosseum is in walking distance from the hotel. There are several restaurants nearby, the hotel breakfast buffet is quite good, and the staff is at all times friendly. In our room, we had a fridge, which was also very nice. Nice air conditioning, not much noise, and overall a very pleasant stay. Whether it is worth the 4 stars, we do not know as this was our first stay in Rome, but we would consider staying at the hotel again.

In a couple ways the hotel does not live up to 4 stars. Upon arrival we were instructed (as opposed to invited as an option) to wait in the lounge because they were very busy at the time and check-in would take 10 minutes. The rooms were also quite run-down. We were given a room with a drain that made a lot of noise even as we entered the room, after 10 minutes of this we made the staff aware of this. Someone came quickly to have a look, and even though we were given a new room (equally run down), it was obvious that he did not believe there was a drain problem. On the positive side, other staff were very friendly smiling, and the breakfast buffet and dining room was very good. An OK city hotel, but more at 3 star level than 4.

Small room with ancient furnishings --> the curtain hook came out the wall when I tried to close the curtain. It had been fixed there with duct tape. My"view" from the 1st floor was of hotel Morgana's own wall! Overall, very very overpriced.

The rooms were small, but clean. Staff were very kind and helpful. Close to train station and many Rome sites. The air conditioner in one of our two rooms did not work the entire 4 days of our stay. The other room worked about 75% for 3 days and was down for much of the 4th day. We were extremely hot with the rooms over 85 degrees at times. Elevators were slow.

Rooms were clean and quiet, beds were quite comfortable, tv was good. Bathroom had been recently remodeled though the quality of the work was a bit lacking. Shower was small and didnt provide any type of shelf, a number of the fixtures were loose as well. Service was courteous but not overly friendly. As with any other extra here don't expect the happy hour to be complimentary, a drink and a few small sandwiches got me a 12 euro charge. Internet is 10 euro per day.

You would expect a 4 star hotel to have working A/C. It was miserable to stay all night in a hot hotel in Rome in June.

The overall of the hotel is not good. The only good point of the hotel is the location which is very near to the train station and bus terminal. Breakfast is not included. Got to pay for. Some facilities in the room is not very satisfied.

First room was a closet with a bed recessed into a wall surrounded by elevators. We asked to change after one night and were immediately and pleasantly moved to another room. Room was nice but the bed was 2 single beds pushed together. One was firm the other was hollow so it made it rather uncomfortable at night. Location is ideal for Termini and a pretty comfortable walk (25 minutes) to Colosseum and Trevi Fountain/Spagna so location was good.

We chose this hotel because we needed to be close to the train station to catch an early train to the airport. It was definitely close, around a five minute walk. However, the room, which was described as an update to an "executive suite," was extremely small, just a bedroom with about two feet of space on each side of the bed. I would definitely not describe this hotel as a four-star hotel.

Easy access to most of the central areas and tours, breakfast is good and open early; but room is too too small though I can understand that it is in Rome but bathtub is too dirty.

Immaculately clean and olde worlde service, all starched uniforms and polite smiles. We had a small problem with the booking of our room but the staff were assiduous in sorting it out. Fantastic base for exploring Rome as it's right by the Termini, main railway station, and therefore easy to reach by public transport. Don't bother with the expensive buffet breakfast as there are lots of cafes near the station which are better and a fraction of the cost.

We booked our room according to other reviews. When we arrived we were very disappointed that our "QUAD" room (for 4) was extremely small. We brought this to the attention of the hotel staff and they were able to change us to another larger QUAD room the next day. They tried very hard to make us happy and we appreciated it. They did charge us Euros cash for the tax when we departed which we thought we had already paid for with our reservation. I feel like we got charged double but it was worth the larger room. The location is superb, one block away from the train and close to Esquiniie Square where many of the tour buses depart. Easy to get around walking and felt safe for our teenagers too.

The reason I recommend this hotel is because it is located in a decent location, and the bed is quite comfortable. My reasons for not recommending it is that the shower absolutely sucks. I am not a skinny Italian so getting into the shower was a squeeze. Once in the water went from scalding hot to freezing cold without touching the controller. It was the pits. The room was nice and bed was very comfortable. The rooms had no AC. Although it was about 30 degrees Celsius the hotel could not turn on the AC. I guess the whole building runs on the same system. The staff was somewhat helpful at check in, but after that not so much. Breakfast was not included in our rate, but for what they were charging it should have been. Also I guess it is a Rome thing, but we were charged 3 Euros per person per day for some type of tax. Only to be paid in cash.

We had a free upgrade to the new rooms. It was wonderful. However the plus is that it was a nice hotel so incredibly close to Termini station. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to friends.

Recommendation for all - ensure you get the "with breakfast" option. Each person will cost you 15 Euro each day if you choose to later. There are only a couple little pastry shops nearby, and cost about 10 Euro for a small breakfast anyway.

On first look this hotel appears perfect due to its great location and recently refurbished rooms however within a short space of time the small cracks appear. The first crack being an actually crack in the bath lead to water flooding the bathroom floor. With the bath repaired and looking forward to the treat of a Jacuzzi the Jacuzzi controls dont do anything but fill the bath with the dirt of months of un-use. Overall the location was great and the staff were lovely but a bit more effort was needed in cleaning & less cutting corners during the renovations.

The hotel was adequate but definitely not my impression of what a 4 star restaurant should be. We had to move rooms because our first room had a gas leak in the water lines. The location to Stazione termini is good for getting around however the area itself does not have much as far as night life or shopping are concerned. I would not stay again nor would i recommend it.
