Horrible service at 25 degrees, the bartender there was so rude to our whole group. I never have been so disrespected by some one at a restraunt before. We ended up leaving and going across the street to hard rock for dinner. Very disappointing...

fun hotel for the younger traveler who doesn't mind a party atmosphere

Hotel is showing it's age. Service is at the pool is a bit slow. They need to hire more servers.

Had a very nice stay and didn't even have to leave the hotel, as there is plenty to do within the hotel itself. From the restaurant to the diner as well as the library bar Would deff stay again

The room was small for a suite. Mourn room was in the garden view so before we enter our room there was security checkings bags verifying objects they even mention a comment for taking a cranberry juice stating I couldn't take it in and had to buy theres. Each time we went out and came to the room they still had the nerve to check our bags and IDs. For a moment I thought I was going into a club. The room for being small was nice but customer service was horrible and I blame the security for this. I would not recommend this hotel. The day I stayed was on 4/7/12

I didn't feel trendy enough to sit around the pool. Swanky at first glance but then it's just odd. If you're doing LA you can only spend one day in this area...I hope.

Excellent place to stay, it has a very classic feel to the hotel and the staff were quite helpful and the bartenders made the best drink I have ever tasted.

Was very unhappy that we got placed by the back of elevator. We could not sleep all night because we could hear the elevator going up and down all night.. Front desk check in was very nice. Poor service by the pool .. Basically unhappy with the room placement for the money spent..

very disappointing for the price. charged extra for everything; water, internet connection, in-room coffee. noisy, rattling air conditioner. insisted on restacking minibar just after we checked in and were changing clothes.

I commend the entire hotel staff on the most amazing weekend we were afforded on the property. From our easy check in , to the excellent phone operator who so politely accommodated our every request, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and were greatly pleased with the staff and the property. The valet and bellmen were always on point and very classy (especially given a that the high profile “Sneaker Ball” was taking place Saturday night on the property), as were the room service waiters and housekeeping workers, using polite and elegant language that always included good cheer and humor. We loved looking down on the international tourist foot traffic to and from Grauman’s Theatre, and were impressed at the excellent soundproofing in our room, allowing us great privacy and luxurious rest and sleep. All of these components added up to a stellar birthday weekend at a legendary Hollywood property. We will be back over and over again.

Hotel was expensive but worth it. security can be a bit fussy about noise

Of historical importance but rooms are a bit dated. But for nostalgia this is the place.

HOTEL IS IN MIDDLE OF HOLLYWOOD BLVD WHICH MAKES IT EASY TO SEE STARS WALK OF FAME. AREA IS VERY DIRTY WITH HOMELESS PEOPLE, PEOPLE DRINKING FROM THE BOTTLES, LOT OF ACTION THAT YOU MIGHT NOW WANT TO TAKE FAMILY TO. VERY PRICEY HOTEL FOR WHAT YOU GET, BUT ONE OF THE NICER ONES IN THIS AREA. WOULD NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN. OUR VIEW WAS THE AIR CONDITIONERS ON TOP OF THE ROOF AND WE HAD ASKED FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT BECAUSE OF ANOTHER REVIEW THAT I HAD READ. DIDN'T WORK! HOTEL IS VERY DARK AND OLD - EVERYTHING IS BLACK AND GRAY INSIDE. HARD TO TELL IF DIRTY OR NOT. PROBABLY THE REASON THIS IS A 4 STAR HOTEL IS BECAUSE IT IS THE NICEST ONE IN THE AREA. I WOULD RECOMMEND STAYING IN BEVERLY HILLS. MUCH CLEANER FAIMLY ORIENTED AREA. BEVERLY HILLS IS ONLY A COUPLE OF MILES A WAY.

I stayed at this hotel on a Saturday night and will NEVER go back. I understand the "Hollywood night life", but no matter how much money you pay for a hotel, you never should have to tolerate loud, drunk girls and guys running up and down the hotel hallways, slamming doors, knocking on doors, and yelling obscenities all night long. We contacted security and the front desk a total of 5 times throughout the night AND morning, and NOTHING was done. When I brought up the situation to the women at the front desk when I checked out, she simply stated, "I'm sorry, here's your receipt, thank you". I had to request to have a water I took from the mini bar taken off the bill ($5) to compensate for my awful night. She then stated, " Geez, I don't know if we can do that". I demanded she speak with a manager and then I got my $5 bottle of water free. I'd much rather stay at a Holiday Inn than this pretentious, classless, tacky hotel.

If you are looking to stay right on the Blvd this is the place... Everyone one on the staff was extremely helpful and kind to any of our questions or requests. On the weekends there are several party scenes going on and doesn't quiet down until after 3 am.... And still people are up and about getting a bite to eat at the Public Space that is open 24 hours!!! We had a cabana room right off the pool which was fantastic but the walls were a bit thin... We had a fun conversationwith our neighbor with our doors closed but we didn't mind... We were there to have a fun night!!! I would say a family with children might not be a good fit for The Roosevelt or anyone looking for a quiet stay.... But then why would you stay on Hollywood Blvd in the first place... Last but not least .... If you are lucky enough to stay in this fun filled atmosphere you must get a table or tickets to John Beechers Madhouse at the hotel... It will be a night to remember!!!

The Roosevelt Hollywood is coincidently located to entertainment , shopping and good eats walking across the st from Chinese man theater lucky strike bowling alley and shopping @ H&H take a nice 15-20 stroll to Sunset& Vine were you'll find cool bars arc light movies & good eats

the morning staff was completely zoned out and bizarre - my guess is that they were all high on something - Hollywood is a creepy place and the Roosevelt was no exception

good points: nice looking hotel, very cool and good room bad points: shower leaked all over the floor, one of the main bars was closed

The hotel was so so nice! The feel when you enter is old Hollywood with a modern twist. The location is perfect! Right across from the Chinese theater. I would recommend this hotel to anyone! Very very lovely.

A dimly lit room,shades of dark,dark grey and mocha brown. Furniture ,so tired,scratched, and beaten you feel sorry fot it...dirty windows, torn sheers,old carpet. Then there is the bathroom,oh my ,you wish you could flush the entire thing, the battleship grey paint is chipping off, accented by big black marks,the peeling finish on the mirror over the sink looks worse in the glow of the orange shade . the staff is nice, they smile and tell you "we'll be under renovation soon. Upscale? It's a goat rodeo at the Roosevelt!

I only stayed one night ...it was very comfortable but noisy..and I was disappointed that the front desk called my room at 4:30 am to ask if they could charge my card for parking.. stupid.

Having never been in Los Angeles, my experience is one I will never forget. It was worth EVERY penny!! The service was prompt and courteous, room and view was exquisite. We worked out in the fitness roomn which is near the pool, and had drinks at the Public kitchen and bar. Carmelized onion tart was to die for and white peach bellinis were so delicious. We relaxed in the comfy oversized couches and enjoyed the atmophere. We LOVED the whole experience and hated to leave!!

I was overcharged by the hotel for my room, I called and had to speak to several people before I was transferred to the correct department. Finally I spoke with someone in the finance department, they said they would reverse the charges, I am yet to see the credit. The room was small, when I booked I was had a promo for a complimentary upgrade which I did not receive when I asked, I was told that room type was sold out and not available. The beds were uncomfortable, and the bathtub did not drain, everyday we would have water standing still in the bathtub. The housekeeping crew came and cleaned the room however the tub was still dirty it was clear that it was never cleaned, and the issue with the slow drain was never resolved. The location is the only reason why we choose this hotel, and next time I will defiantly sacrifice location for luxury and comfort.

1) The carpet was coming up in ridges all over the floor and looked well worn. 2) The shower was fixed so low that I had to bend down awkwardly to wash my hair. 3) The windows were absolutely filthy dirty. 4) The floor in the bathroom was badly damaged. 5) There was only one elevator in operation, and after 25 minutes of waiting, we phoned down to be told “take the stairs”. We had luggage, so it was impractical.

On Friday night, there was a lot of noise outside our room, both the external wall and in the hallway next to our door. We bought ear plugs to be able to sleep for the next two nights.

I love this hotel I come here all the time even just for dinner or drinks. The spare room is a ton of fun. They have great mixologists at each bar.

It is a very nice hotel in an excellent location. However the room is very small and any extra is overpriced (parking, mini bar, etc.)

OK, so this is definitely like a mid-range NYC room (think Hudson Hotel) in the heart of Hollywood. The location is impossible to beat but the hotel rests on its laurels a bit as a result. Rumor has it that there is new management and you should expect great things to come!

Great location, clean room and comfortable. Service was average - 1 hour to get a coffeee from room service - and the elevators broke down 2 days out of the 3 we were there. This is not uncommon according to the service men who repaired it. The street comes alive at night, restaurants, shopping and characters everywhere. The location is excellent only a short taxi ride to Universal. Access to other LA sights always involves some travel as it is a vast city.

I was in Hollywood for the taping of the Survivor Finale. The Hollywood Roosevelt was better than I could imagine. Fantastic staff - front desk, valet, room service etc. The rooms were a bit tiny but were great and this hotel is the best location for the LA tourist. Walking Hollywood Blvd, the Roosevelt has the hottest nightlife and clubs right in its hotel. We were close to CBS studios and just a short drive to The Grove. Drove down to the beach - a bit of traffic but everything in LA is sight to see - so you don't even mind the traffic. I can't wait to return.

As we are all aware this is a popular hotel in a busy and popular area but I still felt that the rooms were overpriced for what the size of the room is , very small , uncomfortable, and you can hear everything in the next room. As far as the customer service aspect of the stay , it was not what I expected , I drove in from san diego and forgot my credit cards but the room was paid for , so I informed the front staff and manager that I had no cards and only a little cash on me , they simply just said we can't help you even tho the room was paid for and I had my drivers license on me, long story short I was able to call a friend to help me out to put his card on file , but if that wouldnt of happened I feel that I would of ended up sleeping in my car.

Loved it. Everything about hotel was terrific. Highly recommend this to anybody.

I had a good experience with the staff; however, upon checking in, the room was not clean. Linens were clean but the bathroom had hair all over the floor and in the sink, as well as a piece of actual trash on the shower floor. It was not my first stay at the Roosevelt and each time I have similar experiences... I don't think the housekeeping staff is very thorough. For that reason, I would not recommend this property. The rooms and bathrooms are very small and kind of dark / dingy. The rest of the property is great though and I really love the location. Parking at $35 is also really too high considering you have to wait 20 minutes @ valet for your car even when there isn't anyone else in line.

Amazing hotel. We wanted something special for our last night in the US - this hotel fits the bill. It has history, location, facilities+ and a great staff.

The history of the hotel and its excellent location made me decide to try it. I was well aware that this was an older hotel and therefore the rooms would be on the small side. This turned out to be the case, however the size of the room as not that big a deal. For the rate that we paid, however, this was not a good deal. I often wonder if hotels place guests who purchase through hotels.com in their less desirable rooms. Whether intentional or not, this hotel placed us in an awful room. The wall of the room was shared by the elevator shaft. Being an older hotel the elevator made a tremendous noise every time it went by, which was pretty much all night long. Additionally, the furniture in the room was showing signs of wear. The chair had cracking and peeling of the upholstery and looked old. The mirror in the bathroom had paint peeling off the back of it making it look tired. The rooms around the pool of the hotel may be a better choice but those were much more expensive. For the price I believe there are much better hotels in the area. We previously stayed in one just around the corner and that is what I will return to if I am in Hollywood again.
