the hotel room was Ok. The lock for the washroom in the room was very hard to use. very bad design.

good location, easy to go everywhere, shopping, eating, sightseeing.

I thought that I got a lot of value for the price I paid for this hotel. However, I believe there is a bit of a disconnect between Hotels.com and the hotel. When I booked, I requested two beds for two adults and ended up getting a king bed only. Apparently, the reservation did not come through that two beds instead of one would be needed. We ended up getting a cot for the room which took up a lot of room, as no two-double bed rooms were available.

This is my second time in the last two months staying at this location. I really do like this hotel and at the front desk is my favorite person Leon. He is always super helpful and kind to me when I check in. The only thing ladies, is to make sure you ask them if the room has a full length mirror. The 13th floor, yes I said the 13th floor seems to have older rooms. But the views and the beds are awesome. Stay there, its worth it..

The hotel was nice and the people were great! I still don't like the fact that you have to pay to park your car there and it's not cheap and they charge you per night! Be sure to factor that in when you chose to stay downtown as I think that all hotels in the downtown area will charge you for parking. All In all it was a great visit and I would probably stay there again.

THE GASLAMP IS ABOUT 7 BLOCKS AWAY...NOT AN EASY WALK UNLESS YOU HAVE FLATS ON...BUT OVERALL NICE HOTEL. POOL & JACUZZI WERE UNDER CONSTRUCTION.

I absolutely loved everything about this hotel except for the fact that parking was $24!!!! Valet parking was $32!!!! Per day, no less. My advice: the parking structure directly across the street only charges $15 if u are in after noon and out by noon. After a typical weekend stay that's close to $30 in savings!!

I bought a night at the Westin during a sale they were having and I definitely feel I got way more for my money. Parking as anywhere downtown will be was pricey but the room was clean, nice and comfortable.

This hotel does not go out of its way for its guests--no special touches or any extra effort provided.

For the past few years I've been staying at the Western because of the comfort and location. However, this last time 3/9/12 thru 3/11/12 the condition and the vallet parkings service were horrible. My room was not the room I requested and I had a bad television along with the sink being clogged up. To make matters worse I was late to a dinner due to the vallet parking taking more than 1/2 hour both on Friday night and Saturday even though I had called in advance to have my vehicle ready. I was very dissappointed and I hope I can have a refund to my vallet charge? Sincerely a Westin Loyal Customer, Arthur

Nice hotel, but wouldn't call it 4-Star. They rip you off on parking as well. We paid $42 and only stayed one night.

This hotel has an ideal location near both the Gas Lamp district and Seaport Village. The room had an amazing harbor view as promised and had been recently renovated. Our only complaint was that the pool was closed for renovation and so we were sent up the street to another Westin, the pool there was fine but sorely lacking in amenities, and getting poolside service took forever as it needed to be done via the emergency phone through the hotels room service.

This is my second time staying at the Weston in SD and I cant say how much I enjoyed my stay. The service was fantastic, our view was fantastic, and everything else was fantastic. Youre in walking distance from all the happenings in SD so its very convenient. If youre in SD for a night or even the weekend, I recommend the Westin.

Had a wonderful visit to San Diego. Hotel and workout room was what I expected. Concierge service was great. Appetizer food at bar, not very good.

Only complaint is that the pool was closed, but u can use the one at the westin by hortan plaza which is walkable.. but no poolside bar..

Hotel was great pure comfort without breaking the bank. Will definitely stay again on our next trip to Dan Diego

the whole hotel was under construction :( i came here to relax with my boyfriend and lay by the pool and read (even though it was a little chilly), but the whole pool was chained off and drained and under construction. Also, the front of the hotel, where valet normally, was in shambles. Valet was 32 dollars a day!! And they didnt even offer self parking. Disappointment because I thought we were getting a good rate on a luxurious hotel. Dont let the low rate fool you, Now i know its because its under construction.

Very poor customer service from the gal at the front desk to the vallet.

We were given a handicapped room because the room we booked was not a guaranteed room since we booked on hotels.com. we were told the handicapped rooms bathroom was set up a little different. I didn't know that meant that the water from the shower runs into the room which makes it very dangerous for not only a regular person but most importantly a disabled one. also when I turned the water on the water started out brown which is very disgusting. The phone in between the beds did not work and only the phone on the desk which for a disabled person would be far. The trash cans also didn't have any trash bags. I was very disappointed with my stay here. I thought the Westin was supposed to be one of the higher end hotels but this visit proved me very wrong.

The overall hotel stay was good but the bathroom reeked of urine. Sort of ruined the stay.

This hotel is very, very nice. I spent nearly twice the amount on a different hotel the night before and felt that the Westin was a steal comparatively. Large, clean rooms, comfy beds, and single cup Starbucks brewers in the room. What else do you need? The location is within walking distance from all the nightlife in the gaslamp district. I walked back from there with a friend at 1 am on a saturday and never felt fearful. San Diego is a great place to visit. When I go back, I'm going to stay at the Westin again for sure.

Before booking this hotel be warned there is mandatory valet parking that charges $32/night/car. Had I know this, I would have stayed at any number of nicer hotels for a comparable price.

I stayed at the hotel with a group of girlfriends last Sept...i remember the experience to be "ok." i decided to book again for a last min getaway with the boyfriend. i was pleased this trip. customer service was excellent and the room was nicer than i remember. i was afraid when i realized we had a corner room, but it was huge! bed was amazing comfortable and the room was very clean overall. i would def recommend and most likely stay again next time i head out to SD.

Hotel was modern and pretty clean but at 2:30 in the morning there was a major disturbance with a couple yelling and banging on door maybe even kicking the door. Called the front desk to make sure they were aware, but should have been offered a discount upon check out.

already forgot rm #. It was to the side of a utility room heard hard knots on headboard wall side during my stay. Long narrow room a tittle bit of an L shape TV was way over to far wall....way to far from bed. Should not have been used as hotel room.

This hotel is extremely nice!! Everything about it is wonderful except for the over priced parking.

Great upscale hotel in downtown San Diego, close to the Harbor and great attractions. Beautiful hotel, great service, great comfort. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.

While the room was very clean, comfortable, and the hotel was in a great location, the construction in the lobby at all hours and the complete lack of a relaxing hotel bar were quite a deterrent. The proximity of the two Westins is a bit confusing. Those were the reasons for the low rating. I would absolutely recommend this hotel when the construction is finished.
