A friend recommended this hotel as it was close and looked like it was clean. But when I got to the room the bad smell of smoke was so horrible I had to open all the windows and leave the room for 4 hrs. Left to get cleaning supplies because the room was disgusting, trash behind the bed, the floor was dingy n dirty, the bed sheets had stains and cigarette burns an holes. The furniture and everything was old and out of date. I went to clean the toilet and it over flowed.. I call the front desk and the guy tells me he couldn't leave the room that I had to get the plunger. I was completely dissatisfied with the hotel.. Too much expensive for the quality of it. Won't stay here again.

We stayed here en route to Vermont and were pleased with the accommodations, including the included breakfast.

THE DESK CLERK WAS WONDERFUL.WENT OUT OF HIS WAY TO HELP.THE ROOM WAS CLEAN BUT THERE WAS AN ODER IN THE ROOM.HOWEVER WE ADJUSTED TO IT AND WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN WHEN IN TOWN.JEAN

We came to Poughkeepsie for a funeral 6 months ago and stayed at this hotel. We came back for another funeral and didnt want any other hotel. Great location, excellent service, great price. Wonderful place to stay.

Our stay was better than expected due to the upgraded room. The Business Class room was inside the building(unlike the rooms outside which have a motel feel). The room was very clean and modern. The towels are so-so but it had a mini-fridge and microwave as well as a free bottle of water and microwave popcorn. The free breakfast was better than most. It had the usual stuff like coffee, cereal, muffins, yogurt, bagels, hard boiled eggs etc. Hot waffle maker was popular. Gym was small with only 1 treadmill and 1 eliptical but it did the trick. The indoor pool looked nice. Days Inn Business Class room had all the fixings of a 3 star hotel without the price tag. I would recommend highly, especially if you're visiting Vassar College which is a few blocks away. I didn't have any experience with the nearby restaurants (Pizzeria Uno is close) so can't comment. The area's fine but the hotel sits next to a busy throughway. You definitely want a car to get around (but you can walk to Vassar in warmer weather).

This was the only place open within 50 miles, so we had no choice.If you are in a band, and need a place to crash , then this would be ok. I would NOT bring any children her though.The staff was great, but the room was sketchy, not to mention the surrounding area.

Despite issues due to Sandy, Days Inn was very accommodating.

Awful dirty hotel

It was clean and comfortable, the included breakfast was quite satisfactory, the location was perfect for the purposes that I needed it, the neighborhood was safe, and there were a handful of good restaurants nearby for lunch and dinner. Would definitely stay here again.

comfy room, great breakfast including make your own waffles, plenty of parking, we were just passing through but it was a good place for a stopover, if you stay in poughkeepsie you must walk across the foot bridge over the hudson, it's beautiful!

The location of this hotel can't be beat. It is about 2-3 blocks away from the Vassar campus on Haight Street. The room itself was not bad, but a bit run-down. My suggestion to the hotel management would be to clean the carpets(remove stains) and repair broken light fixtures. That would improve the opinions of their guests. The room was clean, the staff were friendly, and the breakfast was good as far as continental breakfasts go. The location is what sells this hotel. I would definitely stay there again.

When I read the reviews, I was very confused. Some were good, others bad. I still decided to try it because the rates were very reasonable. I was extremely pleased with everything, and would recommend it highly. However, I had the so-called business room, not sure of the other types of rooms.

Hotel a little out dated, but clean. Price was reasonable. Would stay there again when in the area.

On a one way street that confused the gps, had to be creative to find the entrance, but otherwise, ok. Note that there is no elevator.

Our room, just one flight up from the lobby in the main building, was clean and completely smoke free. We were happy to have a room there on a busy weekend. If the price were a bit cheaper and the hotel had been closer to where we wanted to be, it would have been better. but we clearly would return here.

Very solid hotel. Nice, neat, and clean. Took advantage of the indoor pool and free breakfast. Would have liked to use the small gym too but ran out of time. Main purpose of stay was because I was visiting the Culinary Institute of America with my girlfriend. It was excellent and would highly recommend the trip.

'We were very pleased with our stay at the Days Inn. Infact when we are in the area again, we plan to go there.

The hotel and services were very good, clean rooms and friendly staff. Would recommend it to anyone. Reasonable prices and breakfast was included.

Very relaxing, pleasant, nice staff, good breakfast. Would like queen sized beds. Would definitly stay again.

I was extremely satisfied with the helpful and friendly attitude of the staff at this hotel. We will be staying there often since my son is attending New Paltz University. KUDOS for the breakfast , it was over the top of our expectations. Since this was our first trip to New York, we were made extremely comfortable and welcome. Thanks again. The Hostutlers. I work for a newspaper and will mention this hotel to all my co-workers.

We only stayed one night and it was very adequate. The room was clean. A very convenient location. Did not have any problems.

I was impressed how clean the rooms were. I stayed at a Hilton NYC for the same trip and founded hairs in my bathroom and room didn't look as clean as the Days Inn. It worked for our family. Breakfast is a buffet and you sure don't have to go out to find a place to eat cause is good. Our building didn't have elevator so we had to go up stairs.

It was quiet, clean, the staff was friendly, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

For an economical hotel, this Days Inn suited our needs. The room was clean -- non smoking room smelled like it had never been a smoking room, which is a good thing. Oddly, however, the doors to each room don't fit snugly in the doorway and light streams in from the hallway. Fortunately our neighbors were quiet and didn't yell in the hall. Breakfast was decent with a waffle maker, hard boiled eggs, cereal choices and some mini muffins. The pool was well attended by several families -- however my only major complaint is the workout room, Adjacent to the pool area it had no AC. After a 93 degree day I wanted to use the elliptical, however the room had turned into a sauna and was intolerable. There was a thermostat on the wall but it didn't seem to be working or adjustable. All in all, this hotel was decent enough for the cost of it.

Its a great hotel, staff was friendly always said hello walking in the door. The rooms were ok. For a hotel that your not going to spend a whole lot of time at it was a great fit for my trip.

This is a really nice hotel. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel and rooms were well maintained. The breakfast was very good. Great place to stay.

We booked a room here to avoid a 3 hour drive home at 1 in the morning after covering a wedding event but to our disappointment, the hotel room we were checked into did not have a clean bathroom: used towel laying on top of the sink and a used & broken toilet. We called the front desk to let them know of our findings and their suggestion was that we come back to the front desk for some fresh towels. ??? The stairway leading up to the 2nd floor room we were checked into also stunk of dirt and mildew. They had no other clean rooms available so we left and onto our 3 hour journey home at 1am. Good thing they got us mad, it kept us awake & fuming for the 3 hour drive home.

All was ok except room very warm - could not turn off heater - was broken

The rooms had a bad smell and had to get air freshner but front desk very helpful for directions and friendly.bring nose plugs but room had no refrige orcoffee maker .

The property is recently remodeled, or at least is is so well-maintained that it looks that way. Very clean. I was very happy with the Days Inn on Haight in Poughkeepsie. It is also close to Vassar and to other local attractions. Hotel staff was very pleasant. I would definitely stay here again. Only down side, the walls are a little thin so you may tend to hear people in other rooms.
