The Balmoral Hotel - إدنبرة

The Balmoral is a perfect place a stay in Edinburgh. It is steps away from the rail, which we used coming in from London. You can walk to all sites and pubs from the hotel. The staff is friendly and quite helpful. The rooms are beautiful and spacious.

Although the hotel is obviously 5 star, the room we stayed in was not - very clean but basic, small and with only one very small window. I was disappointed in it - would recommend not staying in their classic room but maybe paying more and then feeling like you were staying in a 5 star hotel.

Spectacular hotel with amazing service , great food , best location in town and good value.

We arrived to find out we had been upgraded. We had a beautiful view and were well taken care of by staff! Thank you! :)

The Blamoral Hotel has to be one of the best Hotels we have ever stayed in. The building itself is exquisite and the staff are very attentive and polite without being overbearing. The rooms are very comfortable and very clean. The hotels situation is superb within walking distance of all the main Edinburgh attractions. We cannot reccommend this hotel highly enough!

Superb customer service and attention to detail. Very friendly staff.

The hotel was very well located and convenient. The hotel, room and staff were all first class. The hotel and restaurants were expensive. We ate the buffet breakfast which was very good. Generally, there are good restaurants in the area that are more reasonably priced. The only negative on the room was that it was a little under-furnished. There was not enough closet space & clothing drawers to hold our things.

Had drinks in both bars. Service was not that great in either.

Fantastic very helpful staff So good you may never leave the hotel!

Excellent location to old town historic locations, shopping, restaurants and Waverly train station. The service was exceptional. We had a fabulous time.

My wife and I loved our stay at the Balmoral. We had a beautiful room overlooking the city and Princes St. Very clean, very helpful staff and the best location in the city. The gym and spa service with a complimentary coffee/tea bar was very accessible for use. Anyone going to Edinburgh should plan ahead and stay at the Balmoral.

Only criticism is even though I was on the 6th floor the traffic noise was bad

All around exwellent hotel and wonderful stay.

dont stay here the rooms are absolutely rubbish and old. this place is not worth the money they ask for!

This was the best hotel on our trip to Scotland-Perfect

This was one of the best hotels that my husband and I have stayed in & we travel a lot. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and courteous and the hotel itself was impeccably kept. Our room was upgraded to a mini-suite and it was very comfortable with plenty of room to relax. Dinner at the Number One restaurant was a delight,, with unrushed yet attentive service for a romantic dinner that lasted for 2 1/2 hours. The location on Princes Street is perfect for access to all sites of interest and I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.

Walking distance to major attractions in downtown Edinburgh. First class service and accommodations, helpful staff. Expensive stay, e.g., daily valet parking our rental car was as expensive as Manhattan near Central Park. Overall, we highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel was in a fantastic location, and the staff and service was superb, couldn't have asked for a better stay, a beautiful hotel, in the historic part of town, loved it!

I can't say enough good things about my stay at the Balmoral. From the first step into the hotel, it felt like entering heaven. Everything was taken care of and the staff greeted me by name. I only wished I had stayed longer to enjoy more of the facilities. My room was superb which included turn down service with fresh bottled water. The bed was so comfortable I only wish I had one morning to just sleep in. The hotel bar and restaurant, Hadrian's were excellent and the service was superior. Breakfast was well worth including in the hotel stay.

This hotel was perfect! Great location, amazing bar, small rooms, but beautiful. Highly recommend!

Staff were very professional and friendly in all areas of the Hotel. Facilities, including the Spa, which was included in the price for the room, were top class and the general ambiance of the Hotel was carried off with ditinction. Location was excellent, right on Princess Street. A nice touch by staff was when I told them it was my partners birthday, on our return from dining there was a birthday card and cake in the bedroom. At a very reasonable rate for a 5 star Hotel, I would highly recommend the Balmoral to anybody.

The bellhop took our bags at the door. Great service. Large comfortable and luxurious room. Great breakfast. Awesome gym.

Exceeded highest expectations. Service was coridial and engaged and extremely helpful with plans, immediately researching all information (if they didn't already know it). We had a double room reserved; the room was spacious with (I estimate) 12-14 foot tall ceilings. The spa, pool and gym areas were well-maintained and wonderful to use. The Balmoral's restaurants were also great (although, as would be expected, a bit pricey). Hands down the best hotel experience we have had (we typically stay in Hyatt Regency's) and will be booking at this hotel for our next visit to Edinburgh. If they are booked, we'll retime our visit.

The room was spacious with all the amenities needed to make for a comfortable stay. Dinner at Number One was delicious - service was great and staff very knowledgeable about the menu and wine. Delightful stay

Our experience at the Balmoral was everything we expected and more. Convenient location for sight-seeing. Walking distance to many sites. Excellent restaurants with a great breakfast buffet. All the employees were very helpful. I would stay there again.

Beautiful, elegant hotel, conveniently located for sight-seeing & shopping, with charming room, and the restaurant was fantastic!

Our stay at The Balmoral was perfect from check in to check out. The room rate was very good from a price per value perspective, but the drinks at the bar and dinners were pricey. The wait staff was excellent and the bar tenders were creative and made delicious cocktails. I would stay there again the next time I am in Scotland.

The Balmoral Hotel is lovely,the staff attentive, the position is incredible BUT for a 5 star we could not get a sandwich in the bar at 10 o'clock, NO tea or coffee facility in the room and to run the tap or flush the toilet brought out the brass band or so it seemed from the noise the plumbing made

I had been to the hotel with a tour 18 years ago and had wanted to return. My husband and I did this as a special 25th anniversary gift to ourselves. The staff, as you can imagine for a 5-star hotel, was superb. All requests were met in a timely and efficient manner. We ate breakfast here and it was a gourmet experience. I hope to be able to stay here on another occasion. If you are an American coming here for the first time, you may notice in the amenities list that the hotel is air-conditioned. This is true, but the room was cooler if you just open the window.

Walk right up from the train station and you are there. This was one of the main reasons we picked this hotel. That and we wanted a splurge for our 11th wedding anniversary. This hotel really is 5 star in almost every way. We were disappointed that they charged for internet access and for some reason it took them a long time to return some shoes we set out to have shined, but when they got back they were wonderful! Almost brand new. All in all, for the cost of this hotel you are treated very well. Very convienient to the train, airport, and major attractions. The restaurants were a little on the picey side, but that is to be expected. We found reasonable restaurants within walking distance.

We loved everything about The Balmoral except the breakfast fee (seemed high.) The staff was wonderful. We had difficuly with the internet connection and they were right there to fix it. The concierge staff was able to recommend moderately priced restaurants as well as those with star ratings. We could not tell the difference except for the bill! It was a great three nights and we would love to go back!

excellent hotel - very well located in the heart of the city. With the exception of the cocktail bar the service was excellent. Rooms very well sized and decore was superb. Excellent breakfast - choice of food and service very good. Only downside was at £25/night the valet parking could have included a car wash in the price.Other than that would definately use the hotel again.

Great hotel. Friendly staff....great bar. BUT PLEASE...make the internet FREE OF CHARGE. Having spent that much money on a room i do not expect to be charged for internet to check in for my flight.

This was our first break in Edinburgh and one that we certainly want to repeat. The service, facilities and friendliness of the Balmoral hotel played no small part in making this trip special. Although a large and grand hotel, staff made us feel special and attended to our every need. Every detail of service has been clearly designed to be focused on guest comfort, ( a practice some other 'chains' should perhaps try!), and the success of that strategy means we will be back! We can, and will, certainly recommend this hotel to anyone wishing for that 'special' stay in wonderful surroundings - (and a good deal to!)
