We visited Brussels recently for a Wedding and this hotel was ideal. The location is a short stroll from the main square and given that Brussels can be quite expensive, this seemed great value for money. Note that there are a few "NH" hotels in Brussels so make sure that you have the right one!

Overall this is a good place to stay for either business or leisure. It's in a great location, just minutes away from downtown Brussels (Grand Place) but quiet enough in the evenings to get a break from it all. Staff was great and very friendly. Hotel itself could use a makeover. Decor was pretty old, and the rooms were reminiscent of something from the 1970's. But if you can deal with that, you'll be OK. Breakfast was not included, and was a bit overpriced I felt. WiFi was available and had decent speed most of the time.

Dingy run down room. Bed was more like springs with a sheet on top, and not joking, a single pillow. Find a different hotel.

the room was very small, with a single bed, one chair and not even a desk. The room was worn out and had not been renovated for a very very long time. service was OK. very disapointing

Problem; should you trust in combination picture and official hotel rating? Not always. The things we could control as location was fine, but I must admit that the rooms was not up to what I would expect for a 4star hotel. Wallpaper was damaged, tiles broken and movable objects like lamps was damaged. On the positive side; the bed were very nice and the covers was warm and clean. The staff and breakfast was also very nice. In total; I would look for another place next time.

I was just visiting on business and the location was great. The staff friendly and helpful and the room was a good size, nice and clean. Unfortunately the bar and restaurant was closed mid December until the middle of January (no food room service either), which was a shame as I hadn't been informed before and after a busy day didn't want to venture out. Paid in full online, but when checking out had to pay an extra local tax charge. Generally very good and will stay again because of location and cleanliness.

Very good location at the center of Brussels. Helpful staff. Good breakfast, featuring alepo soy products very useful for a lactose intollerant traveler. The interior design is very nice. The bathroom was clean if not ultra modern or large. I hate the "fruity" shampoo and soaps of NH hotels.

Great hotel, but the carpets in the room could have been a little cleaner. Location is 10 minute walk (up and down hills, however) from the train station, and very convenient to many local sites. Beautiful neighborhood.

The room was supposed to have free wifi, but did not. This was a major inconvenience due to the recent storm in New York.

I really loved staying at NH Hotel du Grand Sablon. I booked this hotel because it was on a list suggested by a small conference I was attending, surprised at the reasonable price offered by Hotels.com. The neighborhood was wonderful: great restaurants within walking distance, an antiques market in fron of the hotel on Sat & Sun, easy walking distance to the rest of the city, around the corner from several major museums. The front desk staff was great, room very comfortable and clean. I had a view of the beautiful church next door. The only thing to watch out for is the very expensive buffet breakfast offered Monday-Friday.

The staff at reception has very limited knowledge and not helpful to tourist. The staff needs training to interact with tourist and must have adequate knowledge of the place and history.

Very basic business hotel style accomodations.

Good location to stay near major attractions. Within walking distance to central train station. Rooms were slightly old but comfortable. Staff pretty helpful. One major issue we had was that the water temperature changed extremely slowly. Had to literally wait 5 mins for the water to change from ice cold to warm.

Before staying in this hotel i stayed at softer Brussels Europe which was amazing. I booked the deluxe room which is not very deluxe , more 3 star with very old furniture and fixtures. Also when i arrived at this hotel it smelled of sewage in the lobby which other guests were complaining about. Nothing but a big waste of money

The hotel is a little tired in the decor, but the amenities are great (jetted tub, double sink, huge rooms, quiet). The location allows easy access from Central metro station and is easy walking distance to all sites/locations. Lots of great cafes and clubs nearby. Staff were professional and helpful. Rooms were very clean and comfortable.

Just good

Good location within walking distance of the central square and nearby the Sablon that has a lot of nice restaurants and shops just downstairs. The room was clean and the beds were the most comfortable I have had in Europe. The lobby smelled a little funny walking through it, but the rest of the hotel including our room smelled clean.

Great hotel. Very good location and staff were helpful and friendly . It was very reasonable and included a nice breakfast !

Location was fantastic we were within walking distance to a wide range of tourist locations. Lots of reasonable priced Restraunt near by. The room was very spacious, clean and comfortable

The Sablon costs a bit more but the hotel's location is worth it. A very enjoyable stay.

My stay was meh.... *sigh* I am single business traveler and I was unimpressed. The carpet in the room made the room smell musty and old. Decor is dated and just sad. I was particularly unimpressed by the awful shower curtain in the bathroom and my lumpy bed. It was all just so tired and in need of renovation. Nonetheless, the location is good and well connected by tram, buses etc. The hotel staff were welcoming and professional. It is sad that the rooms are so drab. This is a 3 star establishment.

Hotel in a great position close to all sights. Even with the Jazz Festival on with bands in the Sablon Square and in the hotel the rooms were very quiet. Staff very friendly.

As most reviews have stated - the furniture in our large room was very dated and run down. The shower runs hot and cold without changing the temperature. Water pressure is great but the flimsy shower curtain will stick to you and water will be on the bathroom floor. Nice sized bath towels but on the thin size - certainly NOT luxurious. Soap, shampoo, and bath gel were nice. On our last day, bathroom products included body lotion. We ordered room service sandwhiches. The order came quickly but the quality was pathetic. We couldn't help getting crumbs on the floor because the bread was so stale (and sandwhich filling was weak). The carpet was not vaccuumed during the 3 days after our room service. After arriving home, I checked the hotels.com website - we never saw the "pillow menu" but wish we had. We did love the firm mattress but the big bulky pillow was uncomfortable. Our room on the 2nd floor, facing the alley, was quiet. The front desk was helpful in providing directions and a map. Grand Place was a 10 to 15 minute walk. The neighborhood is filled with many chocolate shops but remember...they all close at 7pm!

The location is good as it is in the central town of Brussels but the hotel is not so clean and the service is not good. It does not provide free breakfast as in the description of the hotel. When I tried to communicate with them about this, they just said they know nothing about 'Hotels.com' and ask me to wait for another day for the manager, who did not provide a solution then.The free internet is only avaliable at the lobby with user name and password and will be dicconnected every 30mins.

Very nice hotel although the decor of the rooms is a bit dated now. However they were clean and the service was good so I can recommend it

Sablon is a nice neighborhood -- less touristy and noisy than the hotels surrounding the Gare du Bruxelles but a short walk to the Grand Place. Close to the Royal Palace, the Square Conference Center and the Magritte Museum. On weekends, an antique market is erected in the square across from the hotel. The hotel is clean and well maintained, though quite dated in need of some freshening up. Bed was comfortable, shower was good (not always the case in European hotels) and room well cleaned.

Great location. Great late check out policy. Comfy bed. Nice lobby. Room was old. Bathroom needed an upgrade. Rude concierge?

There is nothing bad to be said about this hotel. Great location to the tourist areas. A nice breakfast in the morning and very helpful staff.

Close to Brussels Central train station and right in the center of the upscale du Sablon neighborhood. They do not cash Travelers checks nor does any bank we went to. Had to withdraw cash and use credit cards. Apparently travelers checks are a thing of the past. The room was clean but sparsely furnished. The water pressure and temp. was good in the bathroom but the shower curtain kept hitting when showering and it didn't matter if the bathroom door was open or closed. The room was stuffy and we had to open a window to get any air because in Oct. they shut off the air conditioning. Hotel hall lights were sporadicly lite and we had to let the front desk know our hallway was almost dark the one night. Hotel staff was nice and so was the doorman/bell hop and restaurant staff. Restaurant food was ok. Would recommend getting the breakfast buffet as the area is relatively upscale and at least at the buffet you can eat as much as you want giving the illusion of getting your monies worth for the price. Breakfast only starts at 7 a.m. so if you need to eat before then forget about it.

I had a good stay at this hotel. Having lived in abrudsedls for years, the great location on one of the prettiest squares of Brussels was the reason why I picked this hotel. The front desk was very helpful with my lost luggage. The room was clean but a bit outdated and could use a refurbishment. For some reason my room was not tidied up after the first night but was after the second night...strange...Overall I would recommend staying there.

We extremely enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location was perfect. The hotel is on a charming 'place,' away from the more crowded and touristy areas but close enough that we could walk to everything we wanted to see, do or eat. The staff was very accomodating. Our only complaint was that free wi-fi is advertised but that only applies to the lobby area. We're used to using wi-fi for work in our room, and this only came with a fee. There were many good restaurants right at the hotel's door, not to mention the best chocolate shops in Brussels.

This hotel is a very good standard hotel option. It is clean, comfortable, in a good location to explore the city, and is generally just a good hotel. There is nothing outstanding or bad to say, however I am surprised this has 4 stars as it leaves a little to be desired in terms of amenities offerred and hotel upgrades. Four of us were here on a weekend holiday and all agreed we would stay here again.

Excellent location. Rooms becoming a bit tired.

The only problem is that it was very busy at breakfast around 10.00 so get there earlier.

The building was in a really cute part of town and was very clean. I liked the heated towel rack (came in handy because it was raining the day of our stay and we needed to dry out our coats). The front desk staff was very nice.

This is a very nice hotel located at a great place. All the places of interest like Manneken Statue, Grand Place, Royal Gallery of Art etc are closeby. One can even walk to the bus stop to catch no 27, I think, for the Brussels Zuid railway station. Would stay here again!
