Royal Lahaina Resort - ماوي أيلاند

The ocean view was so worth it...loved waking up and only needing to lift my head to see the expansive ocean view. Parking was convenient and well priced for our rental car. The food options were limited late night when we arrived and were stuck purchasing a really overpriced "meal" in the trading company store. I also wish I was told that if I didn't use the pool towel card that it needed ot be returned or you were charged $20 (appartently the fine print on the card says so). Luckily I kept it. Overall the hotel is quite nice inside, the rooms were very clean and comfortable.

The hotel staff couldn't be any nicer or more accommodating. Very pleasant atmosphere. Hotel had quite the view of the beach and surrounding areas. Will be staying here each year we visit. Thank you

It's just a decent Hotel I wouldn't even call it a Resort. Room was the only thing good about this Hotel . I prefer the Westin down the street. Would never stay here again even if it was half off.

Everything was great about my stay at Royal Lahaina. The service was great, the rooms are comfy and the location is terrific. They have a great restaurant And they have a coffee shop with sandwiches nd icecream if you want a quick bite, along with a store that has snacks too. The luau was fun and the food was terrific. The beach is gorgeous and the hotel is walking distance from Whaler's Village for most people.

Great place to stay. It is a more simple resort than others around it, because it doesn't have a large pool or a large garden, but it fit our needs perfectly. It was great because it is located slightly apart from other resorts, so the hotel itself and the beach out front were less crowded than other surrounding resorts. Bed and room were super comfortable. Would definitely stay here again.

The room was clean and the room staff was pleasant. The security staff were rude and arrogant (scolding guests who parked in the wrong spots rather than helping them or showing them where to park and weren't very helpful in general). Some of the facilities attendants out at the pool were very friendly and helpful, and some were really obnoxious! The staff at the front desk were a pleasure to deal with. The garden cottages are VERY old and in need of repair (air-conditioners, showers, TV's, vanities, etc.)...however the linen & towels were clean and the room was tidy.

The rooms are really small, 3.5 star? More like a cheap motel, especially the bathroom, I have not seen a smaller bathroom, yes even comparing to cheap motels. Only decent part is the bed and downstairs lobby. The pizza restaurant attached is a steal though, the best pizzas I've ever had, and great scene, right on the beach.

Friendly hotel staff. Cleanliness of room and hotel. Food and drink prices seem a little high but that may be the norm for Maui. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and would stay here again.

I didn't get what I paid for. The room was like a motel and not like a resort.

I had made reservations months in advance for my wife, daughter and I. When we arrived they had put us in the hotel tower with a king bed. We had requested a cottage. We also added a person to our reservations when we got there ( which was suppose to be $35.00 extra per day, I did not have a problem with that). Long and short, we ended up waiting for 2 hours beyond the time they told us it would be ready and somehow with the extra and the "much nicer" room it was an extra $458.00. The room was big, but was older and had a fold out couch and day bed as the extra bed. As I sat in the lobby waiting it seems like a car sales job, trying to get everyone to upgrade. That part of our stay was disappointing. From that point on though the stay in Maui was nice. We found we really had no need for the pools though, as we swam in the beautiful ocean. Nice beach.

Great place. I would definitely stay again. The pools not the greatest, but we went to the beach every day.

The hotel is in a great location and has a wonderful beach. The property itself was wonderful and I would stay there again. We stayed in a 2 bedroom garden cottage and I would not stay in one of these units again. We chose this for the size and it was large and allowed our family of 5 to have plenty of room. They were clean but very old, run down, smelled funny as well as being very outdated. These units are expensive for what you get. We sprayed some Febreze and enjoyed our stay but if we go back I would book a room in the tower. Everyone at the resort was very friendly and helpful, the restaurant was good as well as the luau. Great place to stay I would just stay away from the garden cottages.

Good location: great running/walking paths, walking distance to Whalers Village shopping. Beautiful grounds and beach. Friendly, not pretentious. Attracts quality guests. Hotel average, but nice. A bit worn down. Staff was friendly and responsive. No fitness facility. We upgraded room from old to undated. Pools just ok. We have older kids so pool wasn't an issue. The pools are not attractive for those with younger children. Restaurant just ok. Overall, good place for base location. Once we upgraded room, we didn't need anything else at hotel except the beach.

Everything about the hotel was well done. The property was well landscaped and maintained and the staff was friendly and helpful. Easy access to a beautiful beach was directly in front of the hotel. The hotel is located near downtown Lahaina but not so close as to be impacted by the typical downtown congestion.

I liked it the first time around so I did it again.

We didn't get the cottage we requested and the "upgrade" was a room directly above the restaurant which was not ideal. Otherwise, the stay was very nice. The staff was amazing!

Unfortunately, this was not our best experience in Maui. We had a maintenance issue in our room - when we flushed the toilet something was coming up in the shower. We were not pleased with our outcome in this matter.

friendly, clean, parking spaces are small, excellent service

Hotel was close to places to visit. Great Ocean Front property with super beach and nice pools. Food was very good. Room decor was nice.only complaints ...no in room WiFi. Daily parking fee.

It took a while to check in and we were sent to the bar for complimentary drinks after being told our room wasn't ready for a second time (well after the check-in time). We had a partial view of the ocean and the golf course which was still amazing anyhow. We were very lucky to see whales many times from our room and beach. We definitely recommend hiring a car. Past reviewers complained that the walk from the furthest carpark was far - it really wasn't (2-3 minute walk). We wouldn't stay here again because for the price we paid, you would think that snorkelling gear, beach gear would be complimentary as well as toothbrushes and toothpaste. Our toilet had some problems flushing as well. All in all, the location is fantastic and the rooms are clean and spiffy. As a resort, you would assume a few items would be complimentary. Dinner options are limited but with a car, Lahaina is only a 5 minute car drive away.

Nothing special for a room--quite small actually. Couple things that weren't fair: 1. I guess because of how I booked the room I was given a lovely view of a roof and some satellite dishes. 2. I have to pay for Internet !???? Wow! 3. The staff were ok but when I wanted to check in early I ruffled feathers and as a result my stuff was simply left sitting in the lobby for 1/2 the day. Overall, although they did a great job of trying to make me feel welcome, I didn't. A lot of money for a little service :(

I loved staying here and I wish we could have stayed longer! Our cottage was right on the beach and we felt so relaxed. Also, I have to say that it was by far my favorite Mai Tai of the trip. The only negative is that the room was absolutely freezing without anyway of changing the thermostat. It wasn't too hot outside but for some reason the AC was on full blast and we weren't given any comforters. It was just one sheet on the bed so my sister and I weren't really able to sleep much. Also, I thought that the breakfast buffet was delicious but very overpriced.

We stayed here for 3 nights to celebrate our 10th anniversary. I'd read the reviews which were mixed, and was a little unsure about what to expect. However, we had a great room on the 9th floor with a balcony and gorgeous ocean view. The room was clean and very nicely done with a tasteful, modern decor and was a nice size for two. The only strange thing was that the sink outside the bathroom looked like a kitchen sink, but it was the bathroom sink so our toothbrushes, etc had to be kept on the counter you see when you first walk in. The refrigerator wasn't very cold and couldn't be adjusted. Other than those two minor things, everything was wonderful and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay here again if I needed to be near Ka'anapali.

We stayed in one of the villas. It was clean but needs to be remodeled. Beautiful location and everyone was very polite. I would retrun.

Upgraded to a one bedroom ocean front suite for $150! Beautiful! Totally worth it!

The hotel was clean and very comfortable. The only complaint was the building air pressure issues. The winds would rattle the balcony doors if they were closed, pushing in the glass panes. If the doors were open, you would hear a whine from the pressure difference between the room and the hallway.

EXTREME NOISE FROM WIND AND NEIGHBOURS... TEENY TINY BATHROOM....BEAUTIFUL OCEAN FRONT LOCATION ... TOO FAR FROM AIRPORT

Enjoyed our stay at the Roal Lahina. We were so glad we purchased the Valet service for $15.00 per day rather than walking a long way to get our car in the public lot. Valet service was excellent. Hotel was terrific!

5 min drive from the main strip in Lahaina. Hotel food expensive and not that great (we only had breakfast though). Oceanviews are off to the side of the building, but our view was great as we looked at the ocean, golf course and mountains...even rainbows. Could also see the whales breaching from our balcony. Oceanfront is where you face the ocean directly. Rooms were comfortable and clean. We were in 7021.

Not family friendly, at least with young children. Pools not for young children, The restaurant was not friendly. I had to ask if they had a children's menu. I had to ask to see a menu beforehand...not posted. Just an attitude of being bothered.

We arrived late in the evening and were staying for only one night. Without us even asking, we were given an upgrade to a full ocean view room on the 9th floor. It was gorgeous, and made the places we stayed the rest of our vacation disappointing by comparison. The only drawback, and it is not the hotel's fault, is that there is some sort of construction going on in the area (mid-February 2013) and so there is a strong constant smell of sewage in this general area.

We couldn't imagine a better experience in Maui! We stayed here for 9 days and nights. Good mattresses and pillows, something often missing in hotels these days, made for restful nights. The location was great for access to the beautiful beach and the nice town of Lahaina, which we enjoyed exploring. I would recommend the Royal Lahaina to everyone.

The hotel was really tired, things were broken and in some areas they placed tape over the broken pieces.

Overall a great hotel on a nice beach that isn't too crowded. Within walking distance to shops and restaurants. Downtown is a short bus ride away if you don't have a rental car. Hotel is older and rooms do show a little wear and tear but overall a good experience. We always had a random assortment of towels in our room. Never the same amount or size so many times had to call for more. We found it extremely annoying that when we needed pool towels we were given brochures and tried to sell tours by the hotel employees before we were given the towels.

Reserved room not available even though reserved 2 months in advance, not enough parking for guests, especially during nights with luau at resort, parking is first come first serve even though guests pay p/day parking fees. The staff was friendly and the general area was well maintained. Over all the resort is a good place to go, taking all in account.

The beachfront rooms are really aged and really overpriced, avoid them.

I loved staying at the Royal Lahaina this month. We stayed there last year just for one night after missing our flight and having to stay another day. I found I liked this hotel better than the one we stayed in for the past 7 days. It has 2 pools, one a deep water one going up to 8 feet (a plus for me because I like to dive), the restaurant is poolside as well as a 2nd pool side bar by the other pool, lounge chairs are spaced on the grassy area surrounding the pool, and the beach is just through the hedges. You have a clear view of Molakai and Lanai and if you don't like stepping all over coral when you go into the ocean, the hotel sits on about a 1/2 mile of pure white sand beach (no water shoes required). The staff was friendly and accomodating, giving me extra lotions when I asked (b/c you always run out of lotion before the accompanying body wash). Will stay there again.

We loved the Royal Lahaina Resort. Our room was perfect- clean, comfortable, and romantic. We had a mini fridge in our room so we bough greek yogurt, papaya, bananas, and juice for breakfast on our balcony. We thought this was an excellent money saver and way healthier option. We also enjoyed the fact that you have the ocean as your backdoor- just grab your beach mat and a book and you are set for a relaxing afternoon. Go to the Hawaiian music in the terrace restaurant rather than the Luau. People on this site complained about the parking but we thought it was no big deal- it is at most a 6 minute walk. Have one person in your party drop off you and the bags and check in while you park.
