This is a hotel that is minutes away from the Madrid airport. It was quite and I did not hear any planes flying over. It has a shuttle to the airport which is very convenient . The room was small, but adequate and clean. For a lay over this is a good bet and it was not expensive.

I booked this room for 2 of us plus our 2yrs 10months daughter. Literally we didn't have any space to keep our 2 luggages and 1 stroller inside the room. We had to use restroom to keep luggage. No, this was not my first trip to Europe. We had been to 4hotels during this trip and we have been to Europe multiple times. We knew what to expect in European big cities. But this one was absolutely ridiculous to give such a small room. You wouldn't believe unless you see that. BTW, the room key never worked for us. Imagine that!!

The room was ok, very tiny, but the van to the airport was the plus. Breakfast included was good. The area had some little cafes and shops so we were able to walk out and find something to eat.

Excellent value quality - price and great location if you are doing business close to the ariport or in the trade show area

This is a convenient and comfortable hotel. Room was modern a d immaculately clean. Shuttle service to and from the airport was the main reason we booked there; however, the shuttle did not run after 9pm on Dec 31, which hotels.com did not mention. That left us hunting a taxi late at night. More accurate information would have made for happier travelers!

Excellent hotel for the price and location. Good breakfast/

To me the internet not working is a deal breaker. I don't care what the reason is unless the provider is down. But the provider was not down only the internet in the Best Western was down. The Small little hotel next door had internet and I had to go pay them to use the internet in their lobby. Worse , I booked this place cause the offer free shuttle to the A/P. But they don't tell you on the net that service does not begin until 6:00 am..........I had a 7:30 am flight so I ended up taking a taxi which cost me $ 11.50 Euros and its a 3 minute ride! So add money to your room for the internet and the Taxi if you have an early or I presume late flight. Scott

pleasant personnel;, clean, but cramped room, no porterage service, very good, buffet breakfast. prompt pickup and delivery from-to airport. metro short walk. will stay again next time.

5 steps to get to the lobby, with no ramp or help for luggage. Room so small you have to squeeze into the desk chair since there was no room between it and the bed. No hot water during the first 24 hs of our stay. After a bad breakfast nothing but a vendor machine, no even a cup of tea available. And to top all that, they increase the rate because of the strike, when most people wanted to be next to the airport the day before their flight

I wish we new the hotel offered a shuttle service from the airport. Spent 16 euros unnecessary taking a taxi to the hotel. Great to have the service back to the airport the next morning. The staff was very helpful. We got an extra pillow as soon as we requested. Love the balcony. Good restaurants around the hotel. The breakfast was good.I highly recomend this hotel for overnight stay or passengers looking for hotels in Barajas.

Very good choice for the night before departure from airport. Staff was helpful and room was clean and efficient. Free wifi in the room. Shuttle to airport, but doesn't start until 6:00 am, which was too late for our flight.

Very friendly, competent. Good restaurants close.

Easy to get to by metro subway, near airport.

This hotel is ideal for a 1-2 day stay near the airport. From the airport you can take the Metro to the Barajas stop. The hotel is 3 blocks down from that stop and costs approx $4 Euros. Nice room for the price and easy acces to the Metro to get downtown.

If you are on a stop-over going through the Madrid Airport, this is the hotel. The shuttle runs every 30 minutes and the drivers even carry your bags. The counter staff are exceptionally nice. When we bought a bottle of wine, one even ran to the store to buy an opener for us to use during our stay. We had a nice enclosed balcony overlooking a tree-lined street. There were a couple of excellent restaurants within walking distance. Our room was immaculate. The breakfast was unbelievable, as good as any we have had over here or in the USA. We recommend this hotel and plan to use it ourselves in the future.

Hotel was great. Room was clean, up to date. Waited for hotel shuttle from airport for about 45 minutes. Website said that it runs every 30. Had to take a cab from the terminal. That was the only drawback. Restaurant across the street was great for late night tapas drinks and coffee. I would def stay again on a quick layover.

Good hotel to stay in if you just need a place to stay for the night before a flight. Hotel was good, rooms were small, but clean.

LOVED the hotel; small, clean, comfortable, with a great shower. Great location in nice residential neighborhood a few blocks from a metro stop. I had problems with hotel pick-up; you must call the hotel for pick up, yet there is no phone at the airport to make the call. A stranger was kind enough to make the call for me. The hotel chastised me for not calling sooner.

I loved the buffet breakfast at this hotel. The personnel could not be any kinder. Everyone was great. The room was spotless and I didn't mind that it was a bit small. You don't go to Spain to stay in your hotel room. It was very close to the airport, which gave me peace of mind. The covered balcony was excellent and the neighborhood was interesting to walk around and see a beautiful church within walking distance. Very easy access to the the subway as well. I highly recommend this hotel.

Last night in Madrid before return trip to U.S. Very clean hotel.Airport shuttle every half hour.Metro stop 5 minute walk from hotel. Friendly and helpful staff.Took 30 minute ride to Atocha station for day trip to Toledo.Returned at 11pm.Neighborhood seemed quiet and safe at night.Some eateries across the street.I would stay again.

Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. There was one desk clerk that did not know the area at all and could not even direct us to a resteraunt nearby. The room was clean but very very small. The television could not be changed to English. Close to airport but not much within walking distance to explore.

Arrived very late, early in the morning and had to take a taxi to the hotel, as the courtesy bus had stopped running. This cost about 20 euros. But was welcomed warmly, given a key o a spotless, comfortable room, and was able to get peace to sleep. There are cafes, bars and restaurants nearby, but I didn't use them. The buffet breakfast in the morning included hot and cold items, juice and good coffee. Plenty of choice for everyone. I caught the courtesy bus to the airport, as I was meeting a friend and travelling into the city wth her. The driver was helpful and courteous, dropping me at the correct terminal and at the arrivals door. Journey took less than 10 mins. All in all the hotel is perfect for a stay prior to an early flight or post a late one, as I had.

Rooms are small, if not tiny, but there are a lot of design qualities to make the space efficient as possible. The big discrepancies in the ratings are likely due to whether or not you have a balcony. We had a balcony with windows and sliding shades. Without the balcony the room would have felt very claustrophobic. When booking ask for a balcony.

I liked my overnight here. It's quirky but not charmless. Called for a complimentary pickup from the roadway just outside MAD Term 2 using my mobile (Americans: make sure your phone is enabled for intl calling BEFORE you depart the U.S.). There's signage with a few dozen hotel numbers including Best Western Hotel Villa De Barajas. Remember you'll need to dial the country code "+34" in front of the rest of the number. A van was dispatched and arrived quickly. The check-in counter inside the tiny reception area feels rather like a car rental kiosk. Check-in was quick and my questions were answered efficiently. I found the room to be smallish but very clean and the bed firm, as I desire. The bathroom, also small, was nevertheless a standout: spotlessly clean, modern and with good shower water pressure. There were a few English-speaking tv channels, as I recall, but when I landed on CNBC Intl (financial news) my wish had come true. I had takeout from the Chinese restaurant across the road, pretty good. Overhead halogen lights above the bed in Rm 204 could possibly sear your retinas. I didn't have breakfast in the room adjacent to the lobby but complimentary freshly brewed coffee dispensed from the machine in the bar was excellent. I'd stay again.

We thought that the name Best Western would assure a minimum level of comfort and reliability. But the hotel is poorly constructed and noisy; we heard running water, flushing toilets, and showers from other rooms. Since this is a hotel used by people between flights at Barajas, the inconvenience continued all night. Our room was at the front of the hotel and we didn't notice until we turned out the lights to go to sleep that the spotlights on the facade were reflected into the room. The airconditioning didn't work and the room was stuffy.

We had a morning flight so needed to be close to the airport. The hotel is close to the metro, so it was an easy journey there from Chamartin train station. The hotel shuttle bus goes to the airport every half hour so getting to the airport was easy. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the staff were helpful and the breakfast buffet was good. I would definitely stay there again.

Clean rooms. Very good breakfast in the morning. Convenient (5 minutes) to the airport by hotel van. Nice sidewalk cafes in the same block as the hotel.

Although the room was very clean, it was extremely tiny. The single bed bedroom was almost as big as the bathroom.

Tip: Make sure you know that it is called Villa de Barajas and not just Best Western. The cab driver didn't know Best Western. Perfectly acceptable hotel for an airport overnight. Clean rooms, though they are tiny, serviceable breakfast and decent service. For dinner, the cafe across the street was awesome. The neighborhood is a nice place, with lots of cafes around. The walls are pretty thin, so if you are a light sleeper, I would consider elsewhere. Didn't bother me, especially as I was really tired!

I don't know who wrote the other reviews, but other than being close to the airport, this hotel was terrible! The room was tiny and noisy, the staff very rude, and the internet hardly worked. Even though they have a free shuttle TO the airport, I had to take a cab to the hotel, which was a five minute drive that they charged me 12 Euros for! What a ripoff of a hotel.

Very convenient, 10 min from airport, in the village of Barajas, they offer free shuttle and free wifi. decent neighborhood with several food outlets.

The room was cramped and the bed was a lot to desire (not comfortable). The bathtub was high and not easy to get in or out. Breakfast (scrambled eggs) were ice cold. Facilities to make coffee/tea in room would be much more convienent then to have to come downstairs. The lift was the smallest I've ever seen. The walls were paper thin.

Close to airport and airport shuttle included in room price. Delightful breakfast, nice room, fast and complementary internet. I would definitely recommend it!

excellent hotel for airport stays.Shuttle service is speedy and efficient.Rooms are cosy but not large but beautifully kept. Will definately use this hotel again.
