This hotel was walking distance to the mag mile. The hotel also had a lovely Italian restaurant. We would highly recommend this hotel.

The bedroom suite was very comfortable for 3 people. The walk-in shower and the shower head were great. Close to great shopping and wonderful restaurants. Definitely will do again.

The staff was very friendly and accommadating. I would stay again. Nice, clean, and great location.

The 4 of us enjoyed our time in Chicago and at the Raffaelo. The hotel is very nice, the room was spacious and clean (bed bug free!). It is just off the northern part of the Magnificent Mile which was convenient for that. The only complaints would be that the outlet in the bathroom didn't work and that the coffee maker is a Keurig (would appreciate just a normal coffeemaker). Other than that, it was a great hotel and great price. Staff are friendly and helpful. Would like to return next time we visit Chicago!

This was our second stay at the Raffaello and we will be back for sure. the hotel is lux w/o the lux price -- we booked during a special. the bartender at the lobby bar is super nice and has a funky music playlist. Great place to have a "before going out cocktail."

Pros: Very clean, large standard room (I had a room with two full/queens w/ lots of room to walk around in) Very quiet building, comfortable beds, close to great restaurants/shopping/tourism. Staff was friendly and attentive. I asked for an extra towel, three were sent up within a couple minutes. Pricing was very fair, no cheap, but not outrageously expensive. Compared to Westin across the street, rooms were just as good but a little cheaper. Cons: Heater in room was a little loud (runs constantly). This can be shut off though. Also, no complimentary water bottles, and lighting was dim (but this can be a good thing too). Overall, would definitely consider this FIRST if coming back to the area again.

We had an excellent experience staying at Raffaello. The service in general, the location, and the quality of the rooms are excellent. The bathroom of my room was smaill compared to the rest. Excellent alternative in Chicago!

Our stay on 02/17/2012 was comfortable and quiet . Located only 100 yards away from North Michigan Avenue and Water Tower Place. Appreciated the in room coffee maker, microwave oven, and DVD player. Great restaurants are easily within walking distance of the Raffaello. Will return in the future.

My husband and I arrived for the weekend with some friends in town from Texas...we had a great time and the hotel was conveniently located half a block from the north end of magnificent mile shopping. Our guests loved being next door to the John Hancock Observatory and so close to Water Tower Place. The neighborhood was clean and safe with plenty of parking garages located nearby. The rooms were modern and clean with a fabulous rainfall shower and keurig {happy girl} Our friends room was quite overheated when we arrived but was promptly fixed after calling the front desk. No complaints. I chose to rate this hotel 4 of 5 stars because despite its proximity to the magnificent mile and tourist attractions, this hotel felt quite business-like and somber.

We have stayed her prior to its renovation and after. Great location, great doormen who have a sense of humor. The only teeny tiny problem we encountered was a strong sewer gas smell emanating from the bathroom sink.

Great hotel very close to Michigan Ave & public transportation. Liked the room setup with microwave & refrigerator. Took advantage of the fitness room as well.

The hotel was in a great location and the room was very comfortable, but the shower never warmed up and another guest at the hotel had the same problem.

What a find! Number ONE in service by personnel, from the front desk to the restaurant to the cleaning crew. All very professional in appearance and actions. Warm and inviting. Very authentic Italian. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The hotel is right beside the Hancock tower and that's a big plus if you want to visit the observatory early in the morning. The room was big, confortable and well manteined. I really enjoyed the big shower and brewed my own coffee in the morning (there was a coffee maker available). Getting to the airport is easy via CAT (train). Just walk 2 minutes and get the red line to Jackson where you switch for the blu line. Only 2,25 dollars. Would recommend.

We had a double bed room. Was very nice room. Small bathroom. Hotel is in a great place, wonderful old hotel which has been well taken care of. Only criticism would be that the lobby bar is really an afterthought. Poor selection of wine, too small and very drafty in the winter.

Great hotel I was there for work and found the room Relaxing with all the comforts of home. Only downside They don't list how go get there via public transit. This would have been. helpful especially since they are several blocks away and you have to change lines ( blue to red)

Room 1501 is nice and quite comfortable. However, as someone else said in a review, the push in knob on the toilet is almost too hard to push for a woman's strength. And, to get to the bathroom, everyone has to come through the bedroom even though there is a Murphy bed and a sleeper sofa. There is only one sink in the very small bathroom. The restaurant downstairs is amazing italian food. Their service and food were as good as it gets! Pricey, but worth every penny and then some.

I stayed at the Raffaello in December for a "Girls Weekend". It was a great location. Also, we had lunch in the Hotel's restaurant, the atmosphere was a little sedate, but the service and the food was excellent!

This hotel exceeded our expectations! Beautiful, spacious room with 2 double beds. We asked to move our room away from ice machine and were moved immediately, no hassles. Bathroom a little small so only 1 person fits at a time but that was fine for us.We spent 3 nights here and all staff were very friendly and helpful. Doorman was polite and courteous.Maids very obliging to give us additional coffee refills. Overall, Excellent.

Very kind staff, helpful..from front desk staff to cleaning staff to bartender to doorman. All extremely helpful. The manager upgraded my room to a suite without any extra fees!

The hotel staff were all wonderful and the accomodations were very good. The location is just a couple of streets from Lake Michigan, near Navy Pier and close to shopping and good restaurants.

Nice boutique hotel. Great location - one block off Michigan Ave, next to Water Tower Place. The room was nice but got hot at night. Otherwise, no complaints. I would recommend it.

We stayed here right after Christmas and the location is perfect for our needs. We were able to shop at all of our favorite places and only had to walk a couple blocks to get back. It is directly behind the Hancock Building and Water tower is right around the corner! No complaints.

Our stay at Rafaello was superb. Staff were very nice, amenities were impeccable, and the location couldn't be beat. We opted to utilize the self-park at the hotel's designated parking garage located one block away. The first attendant reprimanded us for not knowing the procedure for self-parking, even though it was not conveyed to drivers, and was very rude when we asked for help. Upon checkout, a second attendant took nearly 15 minutes to find the car key and repeatedly requested receipt of payment made at the hotel. We will gladly stay at Rafaello again, but we will choose to use one of the other nearby self-park garages.

This was my first time staying at this hotel. From the moment I walked in the door, checking in, the fabulous room helpfulness of hotel staff, and check out, was above and beyond any hotel. I have booked a room a this hotel for another stay this weekend. The bed was so comfortable and the bathroom is just a perfect size for a hotel. The rain shower was awesome!!!!! I would recommend this hotel to anyone you will not be disappointed in any way. I stayed in a King Room and I was such a nice roomy space not like a lot of hotels in downtown Chicago.

Big rooms. Really awesome bathroom. "Queen" beds seemed small.

the water that comes out of the sink is ice cold and fresh and is great when hungover in the morning. also the front desk goes out of their way to help drunk people like me get pizza at 3 in the morning. the bed is also really really comfy and the shower feels like you are under a small waterfall in the rainforest. the fridge is also big and perfect for storing those bottles if ya know mean. lots of good tv channels as well.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Raffaello. The room was so nice and very clean. The location is great if you are shopping on magnificent mile!

Perfect location...should be a jewel but isnt. Seems like they cut corners everywhere including the cheap toilet paper, horrible beds, dirty switchplates, impossible to use toiletries, and an upcharge for anything they can think of. Stay away from room 702...internet service unreliable, heating unit sounds like an airplane at O'Hare. Personnel at front desk not very knowledgeable about city/restaurants.

but a tad pricy. Even though I got a great deal on the hotel price - valet parking is $50.00 a night and room service is high considering what you get for it. I paid good money for a cheese plate which consisted of fake melba toast and 4 cheeses, 2 of which were rock hard and inedible as I was told they were left over from what the restaurant served that day. I also opened some Swedish fish from the minibar - stale and rock hard even though they were inside the expiration date. Probably a good thing anyway - would have blown my diet anyway. On the up side, clean rooms, modern hotel, and very cozy. There is nothing big about this hotel. Rooms and elevators are small but overall the hotel is nicely done...

As I returned late in the evening with my fiancee, we retired to a beautiful king bed hotel room. Sleeping in, luckily (as they have the most opaque of draperies), I was startled and nearly given a cardio myardic infraction, when the window severely opened and closed! My Fiancee screamed and grabbed me. I was ready to kick the intruder 5 stories aloft a plummet to the garbage dumpster in the alley. THEY SHOULD HAVE WARNED US WINDOW CLEANERS WOULD BE OPENING OUR WINDOWS CAUSING POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER. Wish I had rights to a refund or anything - otherwise- i WILL NOT suggest this hotel to friends.

Having recently moved from Chicago, the Raffaello is now my home in the city. Comfortable rooms, great staff, super location but just far enough off Michigan Avenue (2 blocks) that it feels private. Definitely not a "big-box" hotel but rather a welcoming boutique.

No view. Small elevators, but convenient location and gorgeous rooms. Good to stay there again!
