Saray Hotel - غرناطة

Lovely styled hotel. Located about a ten minute walk from the centre of town. No. 3 bus around the corner of the hotel goes through the centre of Granada and goes by the main bus station - very handy. Our room on the 7th floor had great views of the snow capped Sierra Nevada mountains. The only problem we had was that the temperature controls in our room did not seem to be working so we could not turn down the heat. Having said that, we did not notify hotel management of this and the weather was not great so we did not mind. Would stay here again.

Room was tight but nice modern set up. Walking distance from shopping area.Expensive parking!

We have two children so booked a room with 3 beds, the third bed is usually a trundle bed, but in the Saray there were but two beds. The ages of our boys was known and so it was patently obvious that they would not be sharing a single bed. No alternatives could be arranged so our youngest slept on the floor.

Comfortable hotel located across the bridge from the old city. Nice neighborhood. Only negative is lack of hot water for showers.

We just returned from a wonderful trip all around Andalusia which included Granada and our stay at Saray hotel. I'm afraid this hotel was our biggest disappointment throughout our otherwise memorable and pleasant trip. We traveled with another couple and were put into rooms on the 1st floor, which had an unbearable smoking odor in both rooms despite a request for a non-smoking room. We were changed upon request to different rooms that still had a odor but were better in that regard. Both rooms were dusty, linens stained, hairdryer and faucet from the 50s. The hotel in HUGE need of renovation: carpet outside musty & smelly; room upkeep - unacceptable. Service was OK, but not up to 4-star standards. I wish we stayed at a different hotel in Granada as it has most definitely affected our impression of the otherwise gorgeous town.

The hotel had a good location for getting dinner and night and watching Granada's nightime stroll. Easy to get taxis and public bus as it was next to a convention center. As a 4 star it wasn't fancy, but was clean and the room decor was fresh.Unless you're going in the summer months, don't go for the pool. Like elsewhere in Spain,pools aren't heated and the water was too freezing to swim.

Nice hotel, only problem is that it is not that close to the centre. We would definitely return.

The Saray staff were very responsive to needs and did their best to help. I was there during a conference and their wifi broadband dwindled to very frustrating. And, there was no provision for coffee in the room but I came to understand that few hotels in Spain provide that service. Otherwise, everything was clean and sparkling. The hotel itself is as beautiful as the pictures suggest. The staff were also very helpful in getting taxies and contacting tour guides. Good good!

Sink in bathroom wouldn't drain, room about 80F and air conditioning didn't work, bar had limited selection. Reception staff nice. Advertized as breakfast included, but it wasn't.

The hotel is situated in a quiet area, yet within easy walking distance of the old town and other amenities. The only negative for us was the noise made by the coach parties leaving early in the mornings. Overall a very attractive place to stay.

We chose this place because we got such a good rate on hotels.com but we were blown away by how amazing it really was. The service here was fantastic, the bar and restaurant facilities wonderful. We were a little disappointed that the pool and poolside bar were not open in early October, but it's understandable. The rooms were fantastic, though i wish, for my friends' sake, that there were more English television channels available as they don't speak Spanish. The beds were so comfortable, the room incredibly clean, the bathrooms so perfect. I would LOVE to stay here again and hope that hotels.com can give me a good rate there again when/if i visit the area again.

I thought the actual hotel was very nice but unfortunately the lobby and the room we stayed in smelled like smoke. Even the clean towels smelled horrible. It's not extremely far away from the main area but it is a hike. Luckily, we liked to walk. I would not stay here again.

Lovely hotel and excellent rates Location - ten minute walk to town restaurant area of Navas. Pool beautiful, reception area impressive. Hard to find fault at all with this hotel, just one thing - if parking car, do so on the street as it is free, otherwise €16.00 per night at the hotel, they don't seem to mention this on check-in! This would not put me off, would definitely stay here again. Rooms modern, aircon and spacious with luxury fittings. Ten minute drive to Alhambra, accessible by local buses also.

The hotel is perfect and beautiful, perfectly located, best 4 stars we stayed in during our 2 weeks trip across Spain and Portugal. The only thing was an annoying smell coming from the air conditioner system. But nothing that would kill us. Strongly reccomend this hotel!

The food is the only shame. The nice people that work here are absolutly nice. The Hotel is very nice and well located; They only need really to pay more attention in the food but good location and restaurants around so enjoy!

Room window is too small in several rooms I checked out and often without any view, i.e. facing another building's wall. However, upon my insisting I got a corner room on the top floor with a view of the Sierra Nevada mountains, which was quite pleasant. TV did not work for an entire day during my stay, and the TV menu options seem to be unreliable - they may work one day but not another! The Internet connection is slow and unreliable. The minibar items are ridiculously expensive and I chose not to use any of them. However, the breakfast buffet is very good and the price (11 euros) is OK. Parking spaces in the garage are tiny and it is not easy to park in them, especially when adjacent spaces are filled with other cars. But, if you've been in Toledo and Granada, where space is a luxury, you will probably understand that this is a norm rather than an exception. A good thing about it is that one can get to the garage by the hotel's elevators; the car entry and exit are controlled by sliding the room key (card) at the garage gate, which I found convenient. The price is OK - 15 euros for 24 hours with unlimited daily entries/exits. The hotel is a walking distance from the city center (15-20 minutes); from there one can continue walking up the steep hillside to the Alhambra fortress/palace or catch a bus #32 from the Plaza Nueva. Taxi is also affordable - to get to the Alhambra by taxi it would cost a few euros (4-6 euros, depending on where you get the taxi). The hotel bar is open 10 am - 1 am daily but it does not seem to attract many guests - during my stay it was often pretty deserted. The guests of the hotel seem to be package tourists. The hotel is clean and well maintained and I would recommend it to others - I got a good deal at Hotels.com for a 5 day stay.

We booked Saray for a night only on our road-trip down Spain (mainly went for Al Hambra). The hotel upgraded us to a lovely and comfortable suit, gave us great service and overall left a very good impression!

I picked my hotel largely on price and was very happy to have ended up in the Saray. The hotel itself is beautiful and the pool was awesome. A little outside the city center but within easy walking distance and there were a great restaurant and tapas bar just down the street on the traffic circle. Staff attended to all my needs, though I only had a few questions. And the room was both spacious and comfortable.

A pleasant Hotel in a good location in the city for all the sights. I would recommend this hotel and stay again.

Best hotel with moorish theme in public spaces. Guest rooms were very modern and clean. Pool was outstanding and breakfast buffet delightful. Short drive to downtown.

A good location, 10 mins walk from the centre rooms appear to have been recently refurbished very comfortable,nice swimming pool did not try restaurant facilities but plenty restaurants nearby.

Hotel was nicely presented, but nothing extra special. The room was nice, modern and clean, however the beds were on wheels and it was like sleeping on a giant skateboard.

Hotel Saray was perfect for my needs at a reasonable price. Lovely outdoor space, pool, comfortable room. Great tapas at the roundabout 2 minutes away - Tapas Valenzuela - it looks a bit plastic fast-foody, but in fact is lovely, really friendly staff, good food and free wi-fi

Convenient for access to local transport, and social activities. We enjoyed the ability to see local area with ease. To be able to gain access to all the major atractions from the position of the hotel. We recommend the area, but we have to say we were spoilt with the warm dry weather which was not typical for April the month of rain.

Lovely hotel, pool and grounds just beautiful. We were disappointed to realize that one of the website photos that appeared to have dining overlooking the city was a photo from a special event, and not a rooftop dining area. Reception desk attendants were particularly friendly and anxious to ensure that we were helped to our satisfaction. All in all a great choice.

There is a very real problem with star inflation in hotel rankings where every hotel is 3 or 4 stars. This is the first hotel I've visited outside the US (except a couple resorts in Cancun) that is actually what it claims to be. The property is beautiful, with glass elevators, lovely pool and elegant design. The staff is professional and helpful. The room was spacious and well laid out. I wasn't a huge fan of the design aspect of the furniture, a little to minimalist/modern for my taste, but still very nice. The only caveat is that the hotel is a little bit away from the city center and train station. The walk to downtown was only 10-15 minutes, but it isn't centrally located. All in all, a superior experience

RECEPTION STAFF COOL, CLEANING STAFF VERY NICE & EFFECTIVE. A FANCY HOTEL THAT HAD EVERYTHING THAT YOU WOULD EXPECT FOR THIS STANDARD.

I stayed at this hotel while travelling in Spain & found it convenient to major attractions and downtown. A bus at the corner would take you into the Center of the City. Staff was helpful; room was sleek & comfortable.

They showed the cafe on the roof in the profile but it was not operated. I expected that I would enjoy the city view from the cafe.
