This Hotel claims to be 5 star. This is not true. This is nothing more then a pimped up 3 star european hotel. Attitude from staff was a joke. They really thought they where better then other people. But worst is the standard. No free internet! Hey its 2012 and you have 5 stars.... Hotel was given a paint job and they call that renovating. If you want value for money - stay out of this place.

This is a superb hotel to stay in - full of wordly charm and atmosphere. Checking in with a delightful lady offering a welcome glass of port set the scene. The bedroom was tastefully appointed and very comfortable. Breakfast was a feast but ...the waiting staff could have been more attentive and helpful. Despite this, would definitely recommend and use again.

Described as having first class restaurant. DOES NOT HAVE ONE. Total mis description & mis leading. No smoking facilities - have to go outside in rain& cold to smoke. B`fast room carpet filthy, health hazard. No info on TV & hotel facilities. No daily papers.Broken window latch took 3 days to repair.B`room accessories pathetic - one small soap between 2 people - no face cloths, no soap holder.No special trips arranged by hotel to local sights, Port wine cellars - make your own way. No wheelchair access.No general manager on duty. THIS Hotel is NOT Five star - more like 2/3 star. Appalling 5 star hotel has NO in house restaurant despite advertising as such.

The good things - the staff was very helpful, and the bed and the pillows were the most comfortable I have ever seen. The bathroom was nice and big and the hotel is beautiful. Breakfast seems nice although we didn't try it since it was expensive. But... there is no internet access (cost a lot of money). We have been to two stars hotel that had free Wi-Fi or internet and here they wouldn't even let us to do on-line booking. Also, the room facing the street was very (very!) noisy; we couldn't sleep until 5AM since drunken youth is in a coffee shop right outside the hotel. The location is in the center but 15 mts from the central metro line and not in the Ribera neighborhood which is the best place. On the other side, there are restaurants and bars near by and it is safe to walk around. To conclude - I think that for that price you can find a better hotel. Another point is that they charge us for the hotel the minute we made the reservation with no cancellation option, unlike other hotels

The hotel is very well situated to tour the historical area of the city. The members of the staff of the hotel were most helpful and responsive. As we were checking out, we mentioned we wanted to tour Graham's winery and the desk clerk gave us a free pass; so, the wine tasting cost nothing.

Never got my wakeup call and they tried to say that it was my fault. Old style security, one simple lock, no card key. Concierge recommended a restaurant that turned out to be a half hour away by cab. Not hospitable. A five star hotel that's really three stars.

Hotel has a lot of charm with 20s style decor. The lift has white leather seats which guests sit in while porter carries bags. Servive is very friemdly and they were helpful in storing bags and ordering taxis Room was comfortable but smaller than newer hotels.similarly mod cons such as cable tv cd player were not park of the package. Breakfast was included and dining room.was a grand dining room. However service was slow and we sat at a table with others plates for quite sometime until i managed to attract a staff member to remove. Overall i would rate a four star

It was POURING rain when we arrived at the hotel. As with most "city" hotels we stayed at in Portugal, there is no place to park a car while checking in and we dreaded the thought of having to find a place to park in the rain (best advise . . . .avoid driving in downtown Porto). So we pulled up in front, completely blocking all other cars from entering and exiting, but the doorman said, "no problem," walked us to the entrance with an umbrella, asked for our keys, and parked the car for us. They made a very difficult situation seem effortless. The hotel is beautiful, especially the decor, and the staff are extremely friendly and truly helpful. Unfortunately, the food in the restaurant is lousy.

My husband and I stayed here for 6 days in July 2010. This was our first trip to Porto and we were delighted to find we had booked a hotel in the centre of the city. Porto is quite a sprawling city and there are a lot of run down areas but this hotel is a luxurious gem sited in the heart of the tourist area. the buffet breakfast was served in the beautiful dining room which has it's original plastered decorative ceiling and the adjoining large terrace. The breakfast staff were particularly attentive and very friendly. Great coffee!!! The hotel decor is exquisite and the original features have been retained - perfect for a Romantic stay! Room was clean and a very comfortable bed - A/C was much needed and very welcome in our room. Turn down service with chocolates left on our pillow every evening was a bonus after a long day of sight seeing and walking (lots of hills in Porto so be prepared for exercising your calf muscles!) All in all we would recommend this hotel as we cannot fault it in any way.

This hotel proved ideal for a one-night stopover in Porto. It is handily placed to the Metro and all staff members we spoke with were friendly and helpful. The room was a little small, but adequate. The decor was good, the interior quite grand, albeit a little 'tired'

Personnel was very nice, we where on our honeymoon and they left a bottle of champagne in our room the first night of our stay. Overall a great hotel and service. We will definitely go back.

Not your regular hotel. Strange decor and dark hallways. Service at reception desk was outstanding and extemely friendly and helpful. Well located. Bar is poorly stocked and service can be slow as enployees multi task.

4月の終わりに3泊しました。内装がとてもおしゃれで楽しめました。何よりエレベーターがレトロで、乗るときドアを自分で手前に開けて、というのが面白かったです。私が泊まった最終日は土曜日だったのですが、裏で太鼓を叩いたり歌を歌ったりの騒ぎがあって目が覚めました。特にお祭りというわけではなく、週末は若い人たちがお店に集まって騒いでるそうです。ポルトの主な観光地に徒歩で行けるので、街歩きにも便利だと思います。

Et glimrende hotel, klassisk stil hvor man føler sig velkommen. Ovenikøbet med et glas portvin i receptionen! Roligt indre miljø, glimrende restaurant og god morgenmad, incl "bobler"! Hotellet kan absolut anbefales. Måske ikke de aller mest interessante omgivelser, men alligevel 'centralt'.

Kjempe stilig hotell med lekre detaljer. Portvin ved innsjekking, noen som kjørte bilen vår til parkering ved ankomst og hentet den for oss igjen da vi sjekket ut. Ligger sentralt. Eneste skuffelse var at den stilige spisesalen nå serverer kun frokost bortsett fra lukkede selskap, men til gjengjeld med portuguesisk "champagne" som en del av buffeten.

As lâminas de barbear descartáveis distribuídas aos hóspedes são de péssima qualidade. Um hotel de cinco estrelas está obrigado a mais qualidade pelo que se agradece a melhoria. As frutas ( melancia e melão) servidas no pequeno-almoço estavam com sabor desagradável por estarem demasiado maduras.

Hôtel très agréable avec un service irréprochable. Dommage que le service Internet ne soit pas offert. Il n'est accessible que par l'intermédiaire d'un site très onéreux. Un cybercafé a proximité permet de palier a ce problème.

El hotel tiene una decoración muy original, está muy cerca del metro y en el centro de la ciudad, aunque no muy cerca de los lugares más atractivos. La impresión general es buena y el personal es amable. Los espacios comunes no son muy amplios y la terraza resulta pequeña. Han conseguido dar un aire distinguido y original al hotel combinando el mobiliario clásico con algunas piezas modernas y originales. El interior resulta acogedor y no está en una zona especialmente ruidosa. Sin embargo para ser un hotel con cinco estrellas y tener el precio correspondiente, deja que desear. No cuidan mucho la limpieza del cuarto de baño y le faltan algunos detalles sorprendentes que se encuentran ya en cualquier hotel de tres estrellas como un cepillo de dientes o una maquinilla de afeitar desechable. La habitación tiene una decoración cuidada pero, de nuevo en el baño, que está pintado de negro en la mitad superior, se han dejado llevar y han logrado un cuarto con poca luz y que no da sensación de limpieza. El desayuno es de lo más normalito, sin nada que lo distinga especialmente. En cuanto al servicio del bar o la terraza, resulta algo lento y con precios exorbitantes. Se encuentra en el centro de la ciudad y muy próximo a la parada de metro y con otra de tranvía justo a la puerta. Sin embargo, la zona por la noche no es de las más animadas. No obstante, enfrente del hotel hay dos restaurantes y a unos metros de la puerta dos locales donde se puede cenar estupendamente. El resto de servicios del hotel son buenos y dejan un bombón en la cama todas las noches. En conjunto no supera la calidad que puede encontrarse en un hotel de cuatro estrellas. Lo malo es que te cobran los precios de uno de cinco. Recomendable, por tanto, si se encuentra alguna buena oferta y para quien no exija demasiado a los hoteles de cinco estrellas que se llevará una decepción.

hotel luxueux, très bien placé pour visiter la ville, le personnel est très accueillant, la chambre standard est de taille très correcte bien décorée. clim, écran plat, lits très comfortables, nous avons très bien dormi, sans aucun bruit. Pantoufles dans la salle de bain, peignoirs, nécessaire de toilettes. On nous a même apporté des chocolats dans la chambre en début de soirée !! grande classe ! de plus, le petit déjeuner buffet est copieux et délicieux, nous pouvons même le prendre dans le patio, quelques tables y sont installées. très agréable séjour dans cet hotel.
