The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa - هيوستن

A business hotel virtually without mobile phone coverage is useless - despite great location! The front desk need access to concierge service.

Maybe my expectations were too high but my wife and I were not impressedl. First the room given did not match the reservation, corrected as soon as I called; walls were paperthin, we could hear all the rooms surounding us top, bottom, sides; maid trying to get into the room despite the "do not disturb"; TV control being erratic; and we ordered a movie which did not work so we had to call that one in: and the room view wasn't anything special.... To their credit, Staff was friendly and corrected anything we called in.

Got a smokin rate for the night after Christmas. May do this every year since we'll have relative in town to watch the kid. Had a very romantic night out and the location is of course the best. We both got massages at the Trellis which is best in town. Awesome time!

Awesome Stay! We had more than a lovely time! If you want to spend some romantic time with your mate than this is the place...seriously, the service was beyond superb the spa was walking distance the place was amazing...we are totally coming back.

This hotel is top of the line. No expense is spared and the service is excellent. Caveat: if you're not accustomed to staying at nice hotels (as was our case), bring lots of cash to tip everyone.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Had booked 2 rroms for the family. Dont have to include the breakfast because its cold breakfast. They have a nice restaurant downstairs with a very good menu. Service was excellent. The park outside is wonderful and gives you the feel of seclusion from all the city traffic but it is right close to malls and shoppings. We will go again.

Half off room rate meant a room a floor below and inconvenient to hotel lobby and parking - a hike. Hotel staff did not greet in passing unless we spoke first. Room key left us locked out after pool swim in trying to get back into hotel and room (although key worked at the pool entrance). Shower plumbing stiff and awkward to turn to hot water.

Excellent service. Very nice hotel. Good food in the restaurants.

Simply Incredible from the time the doors are opened for you when you pull up to Valet and till the time the doors are opened for you when you leave.....Incredible.....!!!! Love this Place

This is a fantastic property. The hotel is more of a resort, than merely a place to stay. I would comfortably recommed this hotel to anyone staying in Houston.

Everything is amazing!!! Food, rooms, service, and workout and spa facilities!! We have had some problems with our remote the last two times, but they are always eager to fix it right away

The rooms are fantastic, but the club is the best. I want to move to Houston just to join the club. I can't wait for my next visit.

A very nice hotel. Rooms big and clean.staff very friendly and available for your needs. Look for to stay at again when I am back in town

We had a very good time at the Houstonian. Nice room, nice people, very nice breakfast. We only spent two nights, it would have been nice to stay a little longer to make use of all the amenities that come with the adjoining fitness club!

This is an Oasis in the city. We have been there many times now and never disappointed. In the middle of the city, heavily wooded and beautifully landscaped. Everything else first class too. The only place we go when in Houston.

The hotel, spa/fitness facility and dining are great.

The property is lovely. We wished that we had had more time to enjoy the resort-like atmosphere, but family obligations took us away much of the time. I did find, however, that the air conditioning in our room was troublesome. First, it blasted you into the North Pole and then switched off and the room became clammy.

Excellent place to stay--wonderful facility and amenities. However, housekeeping will drive you crazy if you don't get up and get out of your room early. Restaurant and bar food and service was impeccable. Everyone very nice, and the front desk graciously stored my luggage--but lost the key to the storage room. It took almost a half hour to retrieve it when I was ready to leave. Health club was fantastic. Cell service almost didn't exist at all on the property, but the wi-fi worked. It could have been totally perfect, but not this time.

Simply a great hotel. Tucked in a wooded forest in the middle of Houston, it is like an oasis from the city traffic and bustle, but conveniently located near Galleria area and Houston's best dining spots. The restaurant is also very good.

The Houstonian is more than simply a hotel it is a self-encompassing ecosystem in that there are multiple dining options, a health club, a spa, and gorgeous scenery. The service was nice, always solicitous and kind, the in room amenities are impeccable, the only issue I had was the bed. I am used to a nice soft bed with a firm support, but the room I was in had a bed that was too firm for my tastes, to each their own. I am not denigrating the overall experience, just know what you are getting into because my trip was a weekend getaway for relaxation and everything about the environment was relaxing except sleep because of the bedrock mattress, pillow tops never hurt anyone. I did not avail myself of the spa services personally, but my guest did and she was duly impressed with the treatment and breadth of options available. Although, if you are planning to receive services from the spa, book at least two weeks ahead. My guest only got in because of a cancellation last minute, of course our entire visit was last minute so that should come as no surprise. The spa service was comprehensive and most enjoyable from her experience. Simply enjoying the wooded environment away from most of the city noises, walking the path that circles the property, and marveling at how far removed from the normal pace of life was a welcome reprieve. As for dining, we skipped the Center Court eatery so I have no comment, but thoroughly enjoyed the services at Olivette breakfast lunch and dinner. The bar food comes from Olivette but somehow lacked the care shown in the same dish inside the restaurant. Room service was fair, not fantastic in terms of taste. The Gazebo is only for people who are planning on spending the entire day poolside and can’t be bothered because you can do better with drive thru, without a gratuitous markup.

What a pleasurable stay I enjoyed for 3 days recently while in Houston for business. The Houstonian is quite upscale, yet comfortable; elegant, yet accessible; and a lodge setting within the city limits. While not having enough time to use the pool, spa or walking trails, I enjoyed the quiet, extremely well-appointed rooms. Self-parking was a bit of a walk, but check-in and check-out was a breeze. I will definitely stay at this property again, with additional time for many more of the amenities.

Houstonian as usual was top flight. Wife enjoyed spa greatly. All the employees were very cordial and attentative to needs.

Great hotel, wonderful service. Location is also great. Hotel grounds are quiet, lush and great for activities and kids.

Our kids were very happy to find out that the "fun" pool is heated! They went down the slide 1000 times, all smiles. We ran into college friends by the pool, too. Great time!!

The Houstonian remains my favorite place to stay in Houston. Very friendly for business or pleasure; wonderful array of facilities and an impeccable, courteous staff. I think you'll also find that its rates are very reasonable given the 5-star quality of the accommodations. Highly, highly recommended.

Beautiful hotel and resort. A must stay if you are in the Houston Galleria area. Plenty of activities and spa as well as close to fine dining and shopping!

Second stay at The Houstonian. Cant be the location and the setting; truly beautiful. The dining is great as well. But one thing absolutely floored me -- no hot water in the morning! I was flabbergasted that a hotel of this caliber cannot handle morning hot water demand.

The hotel has everything you need so you do not need to leave the property. Close to shopping and dining.

This is what a resort is meant to be. In the city but feels like the country. Wonderful and friendly service. Great pool. Best hotel gym in the world, maybe.

We were in Houston for a wedding and added on a few extra days since we were staying at the Houstonian and had relatives in town. We stayed on the concierge level. We took advantage of the concierge food, drink and hospitality. We also took advantage of the complimentary use of the fitness club attached to the hotel by using the pools, taking classes and using the jogging path each day. The location was near to most everything we would need and the loop road to get us around Houston. We greatly enjoyed our stay. The hotel was a treat in itself. Everyone was friendly. We were greeted at the front door each morning with a towel and water bottle after coming in from using the jogging path. The concierge level food was outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Houstonian and highly recommend it to others but do take advantage of the fitness club, it is quite remarkable.

This was a late vacation for us because we couldn't afford it before. It is a pefect choice because my 10 and 15 years girls were amazed. They had all the things they enjoy in one. We didn't have to go anywhere else. We enjoyed and pools and the gym and got plenty of rest. No complaints! When the kids are happy, that's all that matters!!! Perfect weekend!! Thanks

Reception is bad

We live just a few miles from the Houstonian, but wanted a little break for my birthday. The Houstonian is also known as a upscale private membership health club featuring state of the art gym, pools, tennis, etc. As a hotel guest you have access to it all. Upon arrival we got upgraded when the front desk heard it was my birthday. The staff was gracious at every instance. The pools were a lovely break from the TX summer heat. The Health Club was beautiful. Since we live so close we are now considering becoming members.

The Houstonian is perfectly located, close to great shopping but set on grounds that are actually a natural preserve. Trellis Spa is a beautiful Spa with amazing treatments and offer an awesome selection of skin products. My esthetician introduced me to a beautiful French line of skincare that I am in love with. My skin looks amazing. The Spa is across from a fitness center that has every exercise machine that you can image. The facility also has a small cafe that serves healthy meals at fair prices. The hotel is also ideal to stay with if you have kids as they have 3 large pools but one that is perfect for families. The large pool has a wading pool which is perfect for toddlers. It also has a slide which is fun for the older kids or those adults who haven't fogotten what it's like to play like a kid. Olivette, the restraunt inside of the Hotel is truely delicious food. They serve an amazing oyster appetizer which were the best oysters that I have ever eaten. The service was absolutely amazing. My waiter was so accomodating that I came back the next night and ate dinner there again. Being from casual California it's lovely to see that the patrons actually "dressed" for dinner and they lingered over their desserts and cocktails and were never rushed out. A truely hospitable Texan experience.
