I will almost certainly stay at this hotel again next time I'm in Munich. It is at a great very convenient location, close to many museums and the old part of town, clean and comfortable. In addition, the breakfast is fantastic. I read the negative reviews and can only conclude they are for a different hotel. Staff were great, it isn't the Hilton, but it is a very good value.

no device for boiling water! Free Wifi is not available in every room. you have to stress the need for internet. But they can still reject you because no such room available.

The hotel is in the same building as the munich central train station. You leave the station by the Beyerstrasse exit, turn left, pass a burger king and you're there. It could not be more convenient. Beyerstrasse is a busy street and my room faced it but the double windows kept it quiet. The room was small but comfortable. The included breakfast was fantastic. The old city is only about ten minutes walk but you can also take the subway to Marienplatz if you prefer. I would definitely stay at this place again if I return to Munich.

This Hotel is outside of the central train station within easy reach from the airport by train and within walking distance of the main attractions in Munich.

This hotel is at a great location; right on top of Munich Hauptbanof, which the Central Station. I was originally skeptical about the location as I was afraid it would be too noisy - however it was surprisingly very quiet, and we never heard the trains even when we had the windows open in the night. All trams. buses, underground and overground trains halt here, which means you are never more than 10 minutes away from anywhere in Munich. The hotel includes the daily transport pass which is a big plus; I estimate a daily pass to cost approx 20 euros per person. So if you are a family of four, that's a 80 euro savings compared to other hotels. The hotel has a great staff and very comfortable rooms. Room size is not that great, but it's what you can expect in Europe in general. Breakfast buffet was absolutely fantastic - no complaints. Build-to-order eggs, waffles, pancakes and they even had low-fat and soy milk available, which is a rarity in breakfast buffets in Europe. Some folks have commented about the neighborhood not being that great - which is true, but only to the south of the hotel, which is unfortunately the area where the hotel main door is located, so most folks would tend to start a walk from there. The neighborhoods to the north, west and east of the station are much better; Marienplatz is a 20 minute walk due east. Overall I would heartily recommend this place, and would stay there again if in Munich.

Nice hotel right next to the train station and within walking distance of downtown and sights. Fairly average room but clean and perfectly fine for our purposes. Desk staff will arrange for bus tours and we recommend the castles tour to Bavarian Alps..beautiful! Hotel offers free wifi, local bus/train pass and very good breakfast buffet.

I like this hotel conviniently located near Munich central station (Hauptbahnhof). It's not far from main touristic sights (including Oktoberfest). Three main advantages: free public transport pass is included into the rate, very good continental breakfast and good location (main transport point, a lot of 24/7 caffees around, close to touristic center).

Room are small, single bed but you have everything you need to work, free Internet.good breakfast and directly at the train station, walking distance to the main place.

Free WiFi, included breakfast, and comfortable meeting rooms are very welcome features of this hotel.

The InterCity Hotel is located at the end of the main train station in Munich with immediate access to the subways and trams as well. In spite of that, we heard no outside noise. The included breakfast buffet was as good as a cruise ship's and the public transit pass provided was a well-used bonus. The room telephone was not working, but we did not notice that until departure. The room was comfortable,clean, and pleasant, though not elegant. Great place to stay for Munich sight-seeing.

I have stayed at this hotel for years...but not recently. When WiFi didn't work in my room, I was quickly relocated. This hotel isn't for everyone, but it is a very good buy if you know your way around Munich. Karstadt's grocery store - with it's bistro - is easily available. Single rooms are small but adequate.

This hotel was extremely convenient with loads of options for food around. Also it is very close to the station so travelling is comfortable. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. I was there for some official work and initially had some problems with the internet connections but the staff really helped me with it ans arranged a new room for me with excellent wifi coverage. A definite yes for all those who are reading this review right now to decide if they should book it or not. Go ahead just book it !

This hotel is just a few yards from the main train station in Munich and if you are here on business or want to stay in a central part of Munich I would recommend this site. Restaurant and bar were good. Taxis everywhere. The room was a bit small but in my case I was there only to sleep. Internet access was painfully slow but it was a wireless connection and it could have been my location in the hotel.

Arrived late at night and checked out kinda early. However, I found the hotel to be very clean and spacious. Well worth the price.

We stayed the the hotel Christmas Eve to a couple days after Christmas. The hotel allowed us to check in early (around 1p) and allowed as a late check out (3p) without additional charges which we were really happy about. The hotel staff in general was helpful although one lady at checkout wasn't the most friendly and was annoyed that we asked too many questions about how the parking, loading of luggage etc works. (sorry! first time parking in munich!) The parking was a reduced rate and cost 16.50 Euros/ day which was nice considered that it was normally above 30 Euros a day. We were initially concerned about finding food on Christmas Eve which we heard that just about everything closes but with the hotel being right next to the Hauptbahnhof and other hotels with restaurants nearby, it wasn't a problem! Noise was not a problem either. We couldn't hear anything from the station from the room. The room was clean and comfortable. We would stay there again for the convenience, and general cleaniless.

ideal location and an incredible bargain especially when the breakfast and train ticket is included. rooms are quite spacious by european standards and sparkling clean. will definately return

the room had mildew growing under the shower pan very objectionable odor in the entire room. Leaked keeping the bathroom floor constantly wet. Service desk not helpful when I rang backregarding an item left behind.

Best hotel breakfast I've ever had. On the same block as the main Munich train station. It's in the center of everything and the hotel staff was pleasant. It was however very difficult to get Internet access. You have to get a user name and an access code print out per computer or iphone from the front desk (not over the room phone). The elevators were all extremely small and slow.

Centrally located, it takes less than ten minutes to get to the shopping area, and about 2-10 minutes to four different brewery beer halls! You can't ask for more... Museums are a 15 minutes walk, and as the hotel is attached to the train station, travel to the airport and other destinations extremely easy and convenient. Breakfast is excellent, and even though everything is within walking distance, the free travel card comes in handy, especially on a trip to the concentration camp site in Dachau, and mere 20 minutes on train(get the 724 or 726 bus from Dachau station to the concentration site to avoid walking for an hour!). All in all, a hotel I'll recommend and definitely stay in again when in Munich

This hotel is located right at the main train station in Munich. You need only exit the train station and it is right there. Nearby you will find some of the best shopping in Europe on the pedestrian way. Breakfast was included and delicious. An excellent value. Highly recommended.

Great location, directly at the main rail station. Restaurants and snack shops everywhere. The dollar does not go far relative to the Euro. So, it can get expensive if you don't watch it. Room here was clean and quiet. Our twin beds were comfortable. The rooms use steam heat which are dialed at the radiator. Breakfast buffet each morning was AWESOME!!!!! Highly recommended.

Located next to the train station with a number of great restaurants & cafes nearby. Easy walking distance to most attractions, friendly professional staff. Average size room but sufficient for a short stay.

The Intercity Hotel is perfect for thos travelling by rail as it is literally part of the Munich Hautbahnhof!( The station also has more facilities and places to eat than I have seen in a small town!) Staff were really friendly for such a large hotel and did their best to accommodate needs. Our room did not have a view but it was blissfully quiet. Faciities were good apart from the devishly designed bedside table that I bruised myself on in the dark! It was an easy walk into the old town and our stay was really pleasant.

The hotel is literally next to the train station, but not exposed to train noise. I was not that impressed. even though there are a couple of well known brands in the neighborhood, you feel like you are a block away from the ghetto. I felt the rooms were small and overpriced. To be fair, the room included free breakfast, internet, and local subway access......................but, i was only there one night and didn't need all of these features. I would rather have paid less for the very small room. if you are on your way to the airport, you can walk about 500 meters and get on a train to the airport for 7.5 euros (10/2011)

The hotel was conveniently located right next to the train station and other form of public transportation. We used the free pass for the subway, etc. quite frequently and was very helpful. Overall it was a nice location. The rooms were ok, warm and clean.

The Hotel was squeaky clean in every nook and corner, the staff wonderful, the restaurant very nice. The morning breakfast buffet was excellent. It's a first rate establishment. We were able to take the subway from the Airport to the central station and walk just a few feet to the hotel. The one downside we experienced was accessibility. My wife uses a mobility scooter and the only accessible access was a ramp to a backdoor. But it was there, just not in a convenient location. This was our first trip to Munich. We hope to go back. If we do we will stay here.

Pluses - great location, next to central train station, availability of convenience stores, restaurants etc. - free day pass for public transport by hotel is thoughtful and convenient - rooms are neat and tidy, regular layout Minuses - Main Entrance to hotel floor are all steps, very hard to get the luggages up without a ramp. - Certain rooms are on elevated group with access only by steps, again hard to get luggages up without a ramp - Neighbourhood very busy and can be rowdy for some people - Regular rooms are rather small, doors are creaky and noise insulation poor.

I recently stayed in this hotel for 4 nights, and had a very good experience. First of all, the location cannot be beat. Second, the price was very good. I was able to find a deal for 25% off, which meant that this 4-star hotel was cheaper than any 3-star I could find here in Canada. The service was always helpful and friendly; upon checking in I asked if there were any upgrades available, and even though I already had a special rate for the lowest class of room, they put me into a king-size room that is by far the largest room I have ever seen anywhere in Europe. The free breakfast buffet is quite extensive, with a very large selection of good food. The TV was fairly old, but on the second day they came through and replaced it with a new large flat-screen with digital cable. My only negative experience was with the internet, and I think it is specific to the particular room I was in. Though it was free, the connection was fairly poor, and it was difficult to find anywhere with consistant and strong wireless signal.

Location, location,location. Nothing fancy but located right next to main train station in town therefore, we were able to save the fee of a taxi from the airport and back. It is also within walking distance to Marienplack, the main square in town,and it also includes a full gourmet breakfast! The staff was quite helpful and speaks fluent English. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to anybody.

The convenient location of this hotel (right next to the main train station in Munich) is the best thing to mention. The other good things are the breakfast (lots of choices, great food), and that every guest is given a transportation pass (valid in all metros, trams, buses in the city center) for the entire time of his/her stay. But there are drawbacks: even the hotel general facilities are in good condition (like the restaurant), the rooms do not correspond to a 4 star hotel. The size of our room was tiny, carpet was dirty, and the A/C was not working properly ...the room was always warm, even we set the A/C to it's maximum capacity! I guess if you go other time than summer or hot days, the hotel is acceptable.

The hotel is in an excellent location if you are arriving by train - also very convenient for the airport train. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast offered a wide choice and was good quality. We are happy to stay again!

We booked two rooms with the hotel because the hotel has AC. We also requested non-smoking rooms. On Aug 19, we were assigned a smoking room for me and my wife. My daughters were assigned a room on the top floor with no cool air coming out of the outlet. On 5PM, I talked to a male receptionist about the 85 degree temperature in my daughter's room. He asked if we called the technician. I said no. He said "Well, that is the reason!". I went back to the room and called the technician and the call were routed to a guy that sounds like the receptionist. He said the technician is not working in the afternoon. I went to the lobby again and told him the story of the technician. He said the hotel is all booked. We can wait untill tomorrow morning to switch to another rooms. Next morning 8 AM, I went down to the lobby. This time a female receptionist. She said the rooms are all booked. No rooms for the swtich. I aksed her that the rooms are not yet assigned and she can assigned the other rooms to us first. She said " we already gave you an upgrade on your rooms. If we switch your rooms to others that would be a downgrade and unfair to other customers". Now I am really confused. Am I the lowest paying customer? When I am back to hotel on 5 PM Aug 20. I see the same male receptioninst and asked him if there is a chance to swtich. He told me that the rooms are all booked and I should came back earlier. I told him I did. He said then we should come back again before noon. I see the other guests are still checking in during our discussion. Then he said the technician works in the afternoon today. He could call him. The technician came to our daughter's room. He said the system is not able to handle hot weather. There is nothing he can do and left. We had sleepless two nights in the hotel. We have to suffer the smoking odor and my daughters had to stay in the 85+ degree room for two nights.

We arrived by train and to our surprise the hotel was next door. Great access to the trains and all destinations. Breakfast was included and was fine with a nice selection of different breakfast items . We also received a free pass for the train for our entire stay. This was great and much appreciated. Two issues - the room was not well air conditioned and we were hot much of the time... AND the TV had no English stations. Not even CNN. The location made it a worthwhile stay and staff was accomodating.

The hotel is centrally located immediately adjacent to the main railway station and is very convenient to most attractions of the city. Most tours leave from, or around, the railway station area so it is only a couple of minutes walk to meet up with your tour. There is a restaurant in the hotel (Flemmings) where breakfast is served and it is open to the public at other times. Whilst we were generally satisfied with the hotel, there were a few things that detracted from our stay. When we checked in the room was not very well cleaned and we had to request it be cleaned again. The air-conditioning was not working in the room and was not fixed over the four days we stayed, despite several requests at reception. Fortunately the weather was not particularly warm so it only caused us minor inconvenience, none the less, the room was quite stuffy at times. We were located at the back of the hotel and after leaving the lift, there was then a set of about 8 steps to be negotiated with the suitcases to get to the room. Porter service was not available. Although our stay was reasonable, if we visit Munich again we would consider using another hotels.
