Helpful desk person, on busy street but still able to sleep in as room was nice and dark. Not the most comfortable bed.

This was probably our 5th stay and it was very nice as always. The owner is friendly and helpful and we enjoy his company. Room is clean and comfortable with everything we need.

I was not there most of the time but it was a good place to stay after a long day. Adequate breakfast. Front desk was helpful and gave us a discount coupon for a local, famous restaurant. Clean comfortable room.

Stay was okay, the carpets were damp when we arrived, so not sure if it was due to a recent carpet cleaning or if it was because the heat was turned off when no one was in the room. In addition we ended up being kept up for quite a while as we had to endure listening to the next door neighbours enjoying their night in an intimate manner- paper thin doors if by chance you end up in a room with connecting doors like we did. Overall though for the price we paid, what else could we expect.

The room had a smell to it that wasn't overpowering, but smelled old. However, the room was clean. The bathroom was spotless. Overall it was fine.

Nice room at a nice price. Manager was helpful with directions and suggestions.

We stay in the Arcata/Eureka area often and this was surprisingly nice. The manager onsite obviously cares a lot about the property.

clean and comfortable bed but lots of road noise in the morning. find the clerk unpleasant and very minimal breakfast offerings.

Too much highway traffic. Noise from large truck passing by all night. The manager was kind of rude. Ask a question about what to see for local sights. Say's there all the books to look at . Not really talkative. Would stay someplace else next time. Hard beds.

Nice place with reasonable price.

This was a great hotel for the price. it was very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

The staff is great, the place is great and the trees, the trees, the trees...priceless! The only drawback is no pool or hot tub but would stay there again for the price and quality of the facility and staff.

Very happy with accommodations! With the exception go the Red Lion across the street, neighborhood was a bit rough

Very convenient to get to

We had a really good stay!!! I can recommed this motel to anyone.

Good room for the money. Continental breakfast was not very good. Only muffins & dry cereal. We would still stay here again though.

No TV remote or wash cloths in room . Had to kick door to open it each time. Will never stay there again.

Stayed the night. All was GOOD except that the Motel is tricky to get to if you're headed north; otherwise it's highway friendly. The neighborhood seems a bit edgy, but not inducing fear. Dave at the desk was friendly and informative - he recommended the Somoan Cookhouse, a local mainstay for dinner. Clean & comfy.

The main thing I can say is bring earplugs!! This is on Highway 101 into Eureka right on an intersection. The noise never stops!! Foam earplugs made it possible to sleep. This was the last room available for Humboldt U graduation so I didn't have a choice. I paid way too much for this room and location. Consider the location before booking. The room was ok for a budget choice.

Nothing special about this place. Staff was nice. OK for a quick inexpensive overnight.

Overall not a bed experience. Was allowed to checkin at 10am (V. Rare) as the room was ready and we were there very early after a long drive from So. Cal. Room was ok, clean and fairly comfortable. Temp setting was very low so we froze until it warmed up, then maid reset it following moriing. The one negative was the 'Free Breakfast'. You get what you pay for if you get my meaning. Limited cereals, toast and muffins, juice and coffee.

Room was clean. staff was friendly. Location was close to food and entertainment. Only this is thermostat was very confusing; Set for 68 and it stopped heating when it hit 61. Hat to set to 77 to get 68!

After trying to check into the Red Lion with my paperwork and then directed across the street, I found the service to be speedy and enjoyed my stay. TV a bit old but it worked fine. For the price, hard to believe they also serviced a continental breakfast. Even arranged to stop the rain so it didn't spoil my suede jacket.

The service is most attentive. When the doorkey was inadvertently cut after 2 (of 3) days, the manager rectified the situation IMMEDIATELY if not sooner. We've stayed here 10+ times. The property is always well-maintained.

After three tries we were able to get a room tht was functional. Maintenance was needed in two rooms assigned to us and we had to change. The office staff was nice enough to accomodate us however this should not have happened. We stayed here because it was close to our grandson's house. Probably not again.

The hotel was nice and clean, and the management was very helpful.

My girlfriend and I were just passing through on a California road trip and the Rodeway Inn was fine for our purposes. It was clean, the staff was friendly, and we had no major problems with anything. Its an older hotel and the heating/air conditioning system in our room was quite loud and difficult to get working properly but wasn't a major problem for us. The continental breakfast was very simple (bagels, bread and cereal), but again fine for us. All in all it suffices for a short stay.

My partner and I were driving through Eureka for one evening, and chose to stay here because of the amazing rate. We asked for a room on the top (2nd) floor and had a great stay here. The room was very clean and the shower had hot water with great water pressure! (The only negative I'd say was that the hotel provided 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner, which is pretty typical for hotels in this price range, so I thought ahead and brought my own.) The hotel was very quiet also, in terms of neighborly and street noise. We both slept wonderfully in the comfy king size bed. The wifi connection was very fast too. In the morning, we saved some money by going to the complimentary breakfast in the lobby (coffee, OJ, cereal, toast, and muffins) and watched CNN news on the flatscreen. We were both very full from the breakfast! If we're ever traveling through Eureka again, we'll definitely stay here!

The first time my wife and I stayed at the Rodeway Inn in Eureka, CA, we were impressed with the quality of the room, the great service and the amenities included at no extra charge. The rates are absolutely the best in the area. Amenites included were free WiFi access throughout the entire complex (other places either don't have it or it's limited to certain areas), complimentary continental breakfast (other places charge or don't have it), cable TV with movie channels, in room refrigerators, microwaves, coffee pots, hair dryers and irons. All that and very helpful and friendly staff. We stay there every time we visit Eureka.

This is a decent room with reasonable price.

This motel is on a one-way portion of Hwy 101 but iocation is extremely convenient; situated just as you enter Eureka going southbound from Arcata. Access to North & South 101 is a matter of just turning out of the front or side driveway, which was a joy. About 8 easy miles to Humboldt State U. We stayed 2 nights and noise wasn't terrible, 101 is right there but traffic sounded like it was in the distance. Did not walk around the area but it felt safe. Close to fast food, gas, and Target. Double queen room was spacious. Bathroom looked recently remodeled with new wallpaper, curved curtain rod, etc. Room was on a "daily clean" level but the "deep cleaning" level needed to be stepped up a bit. Leaky sink faucet. Towels not particularly plush and lighting somewhat dim but acceptable. Other reviewers complained about breakfast but it was fine. It advertised "Continental Breakfast" and that's what it was--2 kinds of breakfast cereal, muffins, toast-your-own bagels & cream cheese, coffee. I think we travelers get spoiled when hotels advertise "Continental Breakfast" then give us scrambled eggs, waffles, sausage, hash browns and 6 flavors of tea. I don't fault this hotel for providing just what it advertises. It was just enough to get you on the road without going hungry. Overall, comfortable, convenient and an excellent value.

Very noisy location, as 101S runs right in front of the Motel. Sleep is almost impossible, as Tractor-Trailors are running the highway all night long.

The room is very clean. Location is relatively convenient. It is about a 10 minute walk to the old town. Nice and basic for the price. I will stay again.

located on 101-NOISY due to traffic, beds were hard, pillows were "mushy" (houeskeeping brought more pillows), poor lighting in the room, owner was not helpful about reccommendations for surrounding sights

We were there one night. It was quiet, clean, and good value for the price. People at desk polite and efficient. Only downside is motel room carpet had perfumy smell that my chronic asthma did not care for - but unfortunately that's not uncommon in this motel price range. I stay in a range of different level motels/hotels throughout the year, so know pretty well what to expect. This motel very good for price, and friendly staff a plus.

If you are sensitive on noice, do not stay in this motel. unless you put ear plug, the motel rooms face busy hwy 101.
