Westcord City Centre Hotel - أمستردام

The room was very small, but good for our purpose. The glass ensuite was not a problem. Room was not as described in the Hotels.com description. ie It was described as having a dishwasher and hotplate. None of the rooms in this hotel have this. It seems this was the description of another hotel in the chain. Being central and near the food outlets the hotel was very convenient.

Excellent location, covenient to central station and trams. I celebrated my birthday and impressively was given a birthday gift.

Was a good room alittle cool in the evening the heating didn't seem to be very hot though when in bed was warm enough. the toilet alittle tight near the shower but a well postioned place for the heart of the city.

Small rooms, but amazing shower!! Expensive breakfest

Beautiful hotel right in the middle of De Wallen district in Amsterdam. Convenient location across the road to main retail, shopping, eating street and beautiful canals in surrounding streets. 500 metres to Amsterdam Centraal Train Station enabling us to walk with our cases to the hotel. Museums and tourist attractions all within walking distance and great restaurants of every cuisine type within a 3 block perimeter. Staff were obliging and helpful, wifi was free and rates very competitive for the standard of hotel. Hotel recently refurbished altho one of our rooms had a leaking shower- staff changed rooms for us without fuss. will stay there again.

Clean and good location. You get a room, a bed and not really anything else. The bathroom has a frosted glass partition between the bedroom and the bathroom, which can be awkward if you are traveling with someone who is not a significant other. Also, "two beds" may be pushed together, despite pictures. Hotel charged an additional "tourist tax" that was not included in the full rate.

Good hotel to stay as bed and breakfast. As a location all public transport facility are nearby. Hotel staff was also good and cooperative in resolving queries. For Indians who will like to have Indian food while stay in amsterdam they can just take 10 steps on left of this hotel and will find a famous Indian restaurant.

i have stayed at this hotel on numerous occaisions i have never had any probelms with clenleness staff are always more than willing to help and the location is superb

Recently stayed for 4 nights in room 307, nice room with a view of the "girls" working a window, lol, and very little street noise as its at the back of the hotel. Hotel staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the service was very good. Hotel has a luggage room which was great as we were not flying back until 2100hrs, although checkout was at 12 midday. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants value for their money, book through hotels.com for the best prices and simple service. As far as the rooms go they are clean and modern and comfortable, however the glass walls to the bathroom may not be to everyones taste but for a couple its not a problem. Room was a little chilly as i think the heating is centrally controlled, however it was -10 outside but just warmish not hot. Location is great 3mins walk from central station so no need for a taxi, 5 mins from damrak and dam square, and about a slow 10 mins stroll to the red light district, ideal location for most places. The only downside is that when we stayed last year the hotel had just finished a renovation, so it was bright and clean, this year, whilst the rooms were clean enough there were just 1 or 2 signs that the standard had started to slip...minor details really, nothing to be concerned about but when you see things from "new" then only 12 months later its not as "bright" as it was (pipework under the glass sink dusty, some grouting with black marks on it in the shower, the odd dirty mark on the carpet, the bulb above the mirror not working etc) you begin to think if they dont deep clean it soon it could in another 12 months loose its edge. However dont let our thoughts put you off its a friendly hotel in a fantastic area and at a great price. Last year i thought it was the equivelent of a 4* in the uk, now its about a 3.75!

its ok.. newly refurbished rooms... heating not working... cold night.. lead to some discomfort. Should ahve complained.. didnt.. the next day I mentioned it to reception and they didnt seem to care less to be honest. Its a shame. Design floor in the newly refurnished rooms... no heating in the bathroom, the shower tray leaked and flooded the bathroom, no towel rail or even a hook to hang a towel on. The nicest staff member was the chamber maid who was very pleasant on the way out!

Good hotel. Room was small but clean and comfortable. very good shower! Plenty of places to eat nearby - worth having breakfast in a local cafe - better value. Very handy for central station and Dam Square

Ideal location and worth the extra to upgrade the room. Really nice, modern and comfortable room. Staff very helpful guiding us to the quickest and best routes to take. Couple of minor points, bathroom light didn't work. Where they had tried to fix this, there was dirt/plaster on the carpet under the light switch. Glass door to bathroom so not good for sharing with someone you're not close with. Finally, the bar never seemed to open, maybe it was because we were out of season?

The room was clean and renovated. At the same time some bad noise because of ongoing renovation. Perfect location. in the middle of everything while quiet. The TV channels were not available because of renovation. Accessories like shampoo etc were found in the room the first night but for the following nights you either didn't get any or got some after begging the staff several times.

Hotel exceeded our expectations: It was very clean and in new condition, its location is excellent. All of the staff were very kind and helpful. Internet is available everywhere in the hotel. We score it no less than perfect :)

was planning an overnighter with a buddy of mine. The hotel seemed nice and reasonably priced. The single beds were side by side on a platform built for a double. So you're sleeping side by side by just on two different tiny mattresses. Not that big of a deal but I felt a bit conned

For the price can't be beat, there was some building work going on during daytime hours, with loud hammering and drilling. Beds were a little spongy and narrow in our twin room (and not easily able to be separated) Room decor is very stylish, although the bathroom being contained in a large glass box (albeit partially frosted) is slightly unnerving when sharing with a business colleague!

Stayed for weekend with 3 girlfriends and had great stay here. Hotel super clean and very comfortable, especially beds. Yes rooms on the smallish side but totally adequate, what do you expect for a City Centre Hotel? Would definately stay here again. No complaints at all.

This was an AMAZING hotel! If it weren't for a missed flight and last minute specials we would't have been able to have stayed here, but we enjoyed our night in Amsterdam and our lovely stay at this amazing hotel! If there's an offer - DO IT!

We loved the location and we were able to walk everywhere. Parking is a little bit hard but that is true of any great city including Amsterdam. The receptionist was very helpful with recommendations for sight seeings and restaurants. We would stay there again.

The hotel was in a good location. Room very comfortable.The staff friendly and helpfull.

For 3 stars very good, room 410 (de-luxe) spacious, comfortable and quiet located towards the back. Breafast at Euro 12,50 to be recommended. Tram stop just outside makes all sights very easy to reach if you don’t want to walk. Recommend all inclusive "I am Amsterdam" card for visiting museums, public transport including canal trips, discounts bargains, available from tourist office valid 24, 48, 72 hours and longer. Will stay at Westcord City Centre next time visiting Amsterdam.

Ok, bad bits - the bathroom is made of glass and the bed is 2 single mattresses on a double base. Not what I was expecting as a straight man sharing with another man! Whilst it is not expected you can work round it by going for a walk or one coming back from breakfst later etc. The best bit - it is 10 minutes from the red light district and drinking dens/cafes. I was there on a stag weekend and it was perfect to meet the needs - too drunk to notice the twin/double and an easy stagger back. Everything seemed safe in the environment and all tastes were catered for within a couple of streets. There are 'windows' just around the corner but dont let this put you off. It is noisy, but what do you expect in the middle of a city! Excellent place to stay as a couple or mates on a weekend away, just be prepared for the glass...

Central location - walking distance to all sights. Nice modern room although it was very compact. Staff very helpful. Overall a good choice for a stay in Amsterdam.

Westcord City Centre Hotel Amsterdam really covered all our expectations, excellent location, clean, good service.

We (two male friends) booked a twin room: it consisted of a bizarre double bed which (although made up of 2 mattresses) was physically built into the room so could not be separated into twins. The room was small, but felt much smaller because of the way it was laid out and some pointless plastic chairs and a weird desk thing which was actually part of the double bed. But the crowning glory was that the bathroom, which was much larger than it needed to be at about 1/3 size of the room, had wall which were made of glass. Yes, completely transparent ordinary glass: the only privacy was about 2 ft/50cm of frosting in the middle of this glass wall, so I could see my friend shower and use the loo, and hear every gorgeous noise he made day or night. Even we were a couple this would be a little unromantic to say the list, but for a twin? Staff were very off hand when we asked to change rooms. The room was also noisy: we asked to be put at the back of the hotel, but this overlooked another road almost as noisy as the one in the front. About all that can be said for the room is that it was clean. And, in fairness to me and my friend, we got the room we deserved (but the hotel wasn’t to know that), and a room I will certainly always remember. Perhaps the long term ability to laugh about the glass bathroom in years to come is actually worth more than having a decent room?

This hotel is very clean and tidy, the staff are helpful and friendly. Room size is very good. It is a relatively new hotel, about 10 minutes by train to the CBD. However donot let this put you off as the trains run every 10 to 15 minutes and on time. There is also a new shopping centre next door with a couple of restaurants. Good breakfast and a terrace to have a drink. It is in a developing area of Bern. If you are looking for a modern hotel with good size rooms and don't mind catching the train, this is great place to stay. If you are arriving in Bern for the first time by train, it is handy to note that the information area and ticket sales office is below the station not above it. So when you get off the train go down the ramp.

The showerheads discharge far too much water resulting in very erratic temperature control for those in nearby bathrooms trying to have a shower. The breakfast room on the ground floor is dark and dowdy but these are minor issues for a centrally located hotel within a short walk (10 min) from the railway station. Take care! Cars stop for pedestrians but not bikes!

Basically the hotel was fine except for the size of the room. a Although I had ordered a "delux" room with double bed, our room was so small that the bed was pushed against the far wall, with a small desk at the back of the bed. The "double bed" was composed of two single beds, with single sheets, pushed together. Because of the type of mattress, I almost fell off in the middle of the night. However, despite this, I must praise a wonderful desk clerk who helped me when the internet failed to print my boarding card. he went out of his way . I didn't think that for the high price I paid I would get a room the size of a bathroom, and that it would be called "delux". Marge

I am always cautious of 3 star hotels, as some in the past were really bad. But i was really impressed with this hotel, the location was fantastic, it is 5 minutes from the main train station - a fast train to the airport is only 4 euros and takes 15 mins or so! The hotel is surounded by restaurants, cafes , bars and shops. And i was able to walk around Amsterdam city centre from the hotel in under 20 mins. The only down side i experienced is that the room is very small ( but it's not like we spent much time in the room) - and although it is a non smoking room, we often walked into a strong smell of cigarettes. Also, nearby are a few 'red rooms' - so if you're easily offended , then maybe it's not the best hotel location for you. But overall, if you want a good hotel with a fair price and location this is definitely one i would recommend.

This the tiniest hotel room we have ever stayed in; however, it is absolutely sufficient for two people (a couple). The shape was odd, but interesting, and they did an excellent job organizing it in a way that made it work. It was updated and very modern and extremely clean. The location was perfect, walking distance from the main sights.

I booked a TWIN room for myself and my work colleague for 1 night. Both Double & Twin rooms were advertised as available but when we arrived after a long working day we found that the "Twin " room was 2 single matresses on a single imovable base. seperate single duvets. When we complained we were told " This Is Amsterdam". Not good enough . Another male pair were at reception complaining abiut the same problem. We were offered a refund as told that all rooms were booked. Found out that this hotel has NO twin rooms. we were very disappointed at this deception a hotel was otherwise very clean & modern. Would recommend to a Couple

Great location' near the dam, the central station, Ana frank's house & more. as an elevator, very clear house keeping every day. The only down was that we ordered a twin bed & received a double with two mattresses, when we asked why we received a double bed the man at the reception told us that this is the twin because the there is a crack between the mattresses.

We were travelling as a group and the hotel was very convenient and comforable. reception was very helpful with advice and recommendations. Breakfast was better value than eating out in the local area.

We were really pleased with our stay here over the 4th of July weekend 2011. The location is absolutely perfect as it is minutes walk from the heart of Amsterdam & the Red Light District. Furthermore, there is a tram stop just out the door that takes you directly to all the Museums (no connections) and Leindesplein [sp], another cool square. They were kind enough to store our luggage as we arrived early so we were able to explore the city before check-in. Almost forgot, it's a 13 minute walk to the Central station, which takes you directly to Schiphol (AMS) airport. For less than 4 euros per person, you can get to and from the airport. The train stop for the airport is in the airport itself. It's really convenient. I will be back.

Stayed in this hotel over 2 days . What a treat. We stayed here during a heatwave and boy was I glad for the airconditioning. This a beautifully kept modern hotel, bathroom is new as is bedroom. I had the deluxe room, which is not big, but really well done up. Tea/ coffee amenities available in the room and free wifi across the hotel was a major plus too! Only negative I'd say is the breakfast was very expensive, take a walk around go and get yourself a cheese/ ham roll, there's an albert heijn (grocery store) around the corner. Its way cheaper than €12.50 Other than that what a fantastic hotel, can't recommend it more highly.

Front line staff were very helpful and the breakfast area was good, but how this Hotel could be rated 3 star I don't know. This is the first time I've had to sleep in a room the size of a cupboard!! The most expensive and worst Hotel room I've stayed in for many years.

Nice hotel, good location, good rooms. A little too much modern glass walls for bathroom and table. Most important, beware of hackers with access to free wireless service which is unsecured.

Hotel is conveniently located near Amsterdam Centraal station. My one person room was very nice, modern, clean, efficiently layed out and nicely fitted out with fixtures, bedding, etc. I was surprised at how nice it was. It was small but comfortable. I especailly appreciated the modern beauty of the bathroom. Great shower. Only let down was that the wi-fi access was not great; it kept going in and out and never had more than two bars of strength. Other than the wi-fi, I had no negative comments. It was an excellent bang for the buck! The breakfast was a pretty good value espeically if you are in a rush to get to the train station. Otherwise, get out and enjoy one of the many neighboring eating spots.

Excellent Hotel, Excellent Location, Excellent Service!!! We were very impressed when walking into the foyer, it is very modern and clean. Fast check in by a lovely member of staff she gave us some leaflets and explained that the door key was needed to activate the lifts and the entrance door late at night, if there was anything else we needed- just ask. The duluxe room we stayed in was better than expected, small but perfectly formed!! The bed was really comfortable, and the pillows were to die for!! Flat screen TV at the base of the bed (Impressed the other half!). Beautiful bathroom, AMAZING Shower!! I was looking for excuses to have another!! The Location is about 10 minutes from Central Station and 10 minutes to Dam Square. We were in the middle of everything, but felt removed from hustle and bustle. We really couldnt have asked for anymore!!!

This hotel was wonderful. The rooms are clean and modern. The people were very acommodating and helpful in every aspect. We just loved staying there and will definitely seek this hotel out again and recommend it highly to everyone.

This hotel is weary and could use a renovation. The location was good but the room needs to be updated with the curtains and carpet replaced. The staff doesn't seem to care about the way it appears which is evident in the lack of cleanliness in the lobby and at the entranceway. There is only one computer available for use and it was not always connected.
