Place d'Armes Hotel - نيو أورليانز

This hotel is in a great location - close enough to everything, but far enough to not have to deal with loud people out late at night. The center courtyard is absolutely gorgeous, and they have a nice continental breakfast bar set up each morning. Perhaps the biggest bonus is that it is a mere 3 blocks from Cafe du Monde! Having said that however, do NOT book one of the interior/non-window rooms - it is dark/damp and creepy and not worth the money. Also, I found the front desk staff to be fairly indifferent to helping so thank goodness the porter and garage staff were helpful. I give this hotel a 'fair/good' rating - but think for the money you could find something a bit better.

The room was clean, location great. Bed was pretty old and the leftover breakfast pastries were reused each day (according to the staff).. But it was a cheap stay and good location. Dont really reccomed the rooms without a window, they are like caves. The walls are very thin, so hope u are a heavy sleeper! The staff was super nice!

Great location in the French Quarter. Cool old buildings. Nice decor. Staff members were polite. Room had a couple hairs on the floor. Toilet hadn't been flushed. Overall, it was a nice enough stay for one night, and it was a good value.

The hotel was great. Our room was very spacious and clean. The hotel was steps away from Jackson Square and about 2 blocks from Burbon Street! The hotel was easy to find and was in a safe area. I would definitely come back and stay here!

Motel was excellent couldnt have asked for much better. It was convienent right in the French Qtr. No reflection on the motel as this was our 1st trip to New Orleans and our last. I guess we should have anticipated all the bumbs and drunks, my bad. If you go I reccomend Place d'Armes Hotel as your place to stay.

We stayed here one night after a cruise so that we could sightsee in New Orleans. The bellhop woman was very friendly and helpful. Our friends stayed on the first floor and they said it was very loud, but we stayed on the second and didn't have any problems with noise. The room smelled pretty musty, but I guess that is to be expected in an old building. It's less than a block from Jackson Square and two blocks from Bourbon St, so it's an ideal location if you want to sightsee.

Had a very pleasant stay, The only negative thing was our tv did not work well, the picture was all green and was not fixed during our 3 day stay Was clean and the location was unbeatable We could walk to Burbon street and to cafe Dumonde, Staff was very friendly and helpful

Tiny, cozy, charming!! Walking distance to many attractions.

I can get over the fact that it was claustrophobic with low lighting and no windows, but the fact that we found an unused condom on our floor when we walked in was pretty gross.

Location of Place d'Armes Hotel cannot be beat; 1/2 block to Jackson Square, next door to Muriel's for fine dining, and across the street from the museum. The lovely garden and courtyard in the center of the hotel was the perfect spot to sip a glass a wine and rest my feet in the afternoon. Enjoyed the Crewe de Cork and Barkus parades as they went past the hotel. Only complaint was the rooms are not 'soundproof' everytime the elevator door and door to the stairs closed we heard it.

Gorgeous quaint hotel in perfect location right near Bourbon but you can still enjoy quiet . Try ask for a room with a window , it makes a difference. Night manager very rude and un helpful but amazing day manager who couldn't do more to help us . Would recommend for price you can't beat it Clean rooms

I picked the hotel due to location and price. The hotel was perfectly located for us. Across the street from Jackson Square, 2 blocks from Cafe du Monde, etc. The hotel is an older building and the walls are thin. We heard a lot of traffic in the halls, but that's not unexpected in the French Quarter as Mardis Gras approaches. We found the day desk staff (Deeanna?) friendlier than the evening staff, and a few members were especially helpful (Corey for example (Bell hop)) . We started our stay in an interior room and moved midway through to a room with a view. The second room was larger and more spacious, but both rooms were nice. The interior room was surprisingly suited to sleeping in and relaxing. My wife expressed concerns of feeling claustrophobic with no windows for a week, so we arranged to change rooms in advance, but had no issues with the interior room. Worth noting, there are no restaurants onsite at the hotel, they serve a continental breakfast each day though. We stayed from Jan 10 - 16, 2013.

Though they could use a course in housekeeping 101, the rooms were very charming. The hotel staff was courteous if at times forgetful. It was a great value, good location. Breakfast pastries a delight. We will definitely stay again.

First and foremost... The LOCATION!!! This hotel is worth double the rate based on location alone. It's literally on the corner of Jackson Square, and only 1.5 blocks from Bourbon Street! Also, the amenities we read didn't include free WiFi, but the front desk was happy to give us the password for free. The front desk staff were perfectly polite, but don't expect them to go out of their way to give you a smile... The bell men were just the opposite, very welcoming and eager to help. Once checked in, we were wowed by the "very French Quarter" courtyard... Rooms and balconies all looking over the beautifully treed pool and sitting areas. The room itself was very clean and had all the requisite comforts. We always leave the "do not disturb" tag on the door even while away. We were pleasantly surprised when the housekeeping staff left a small note just to let us know they were respecting our privacy by not entering our room while making their rounds, but to simply call with any requests. The continental breakfast is standard fare, pastries, jellies and beverages... But the worlds most famous coffee and beignets (dont forget it's open 24hrs) is just a block away. What it boils down to is that we will no longer stay anywhere else when we visit the French Quarter.

There was a tiny bit of musty smell, and the interior room was a little small, but the hotel is beautiful. The mirrors are really awesome, I think they were actually silver backed. We were very happy with our stay.

It was wonderful, the entire family had a great time.

For the price you can't go wrong if you are looking for a nice place off of bourbon street. Was very quiet and friendly. Will be back again and again!!!

Had a great time in the Crescent City.

The location and overall place was perfect. I did book a king suite and was given a queen and told that they did not even have king beds, which turned out to be untrue. The bed was not comfortable. Still, I would go again. Rates were reasonable.

This is a charming hotel and located right off Jackson Square but away from the bustle and rowdiness of Bourbon Street. Walk out the door in the morning to the freshly washed sidewalks and imagine you are in Paris! There is a continental breakfast (complimentary) with coffee, fruit, and pastries. The mini croissants were fine. The rooms are small but nicely fitted out. Only complaint for me was that the tv remote had some challenges (it was an old tv) but, since watching tv was not important, it did not matter to me very much.

We chose the hotel because of its location. We were not dissapointed with our stay in any way. Have to say the breakfast pastries were amazing. Would have liked to have taken a bunch of them home with us. To have parking right at the hotel is a great convenience - the only thing that I was dissapointed in was that for the first time in my 68 years I had to pay the hotel I stayed at for parking. A minor irritation in an overall great experience.

The Place d/Armes has a wonderful courtyard and just steps away from nearly everything in the French Quarter -- but still far enough away from the craziness of Bourbon Street. Very quiet block. The famous Muriel's restaurant is next door. The room we stayed in was decent -- furnishings a bit old, and a teeny bathroom -- but very adequate for our needs. Good AC, which is a must for New Orleans. Overall I'd recommend this hotel, with the caveat that the rooms themselves will not win any prizes.

Staff not very friendly and seemed too busy with personal issues to care about customers.

i took my family of four to new orleans on a sunday/monday trip. the hotel was near everything we wanted to see, very convenient location. the service was good, the hotel was clean, the rooms were small, but big enough to rest comfortably. the only complaint i have is the door to the stairwell was not spring hinged and people going in and out all night the door kept slamming and waking us. the elevator is tiny tiny, and takes awhile (but really that's not a reason to not attend). if they would just put a spring hinge on the door so it would close slowly and not slam all night long this hotel would be well worth what we paid for it.

Wow! I could not believe the accommodations. It was booked near midnight the day I was set to arrive. The room had a walk out balcony overlooking a courtyard and pool. Comfortable beds, responsive staff, free breakfast, free Internet, great price, and at Jackson Square in the French Quarters within a walking distance to Bourbon St. I loved it!

The desk staff, like most establishments, had some good employees and some lazy employees. The court yard is beautiful and the weather was perfect during our stay.

The staff was top notch. Friendly and helpful. Always had a smile. You don't see that anymore..but here, you got it no matter what. I LOVED the hotel. My only recommendation is for them to update their matresses. Other than that, BEST location of any New Orleans hotel.

We enjoyed our stay at Place de Arms. The room was clean, roomy and well located. Like a lot of places in the FQ, the decorations/beds are older, but they worked just fine. If you're into style over substance, that might be a problem for you. But after an exhausting day of touristing, it was just fine. The courtyard is very nice. The office staff was nothing but helpful. We asked for an interior room so that we wouldn't have pool noise and it was worked out well. The only thing we were missing that would have been nice was a refrigerator. We didn't check before we bought food and had to throw it out. Other than that, great place to stay in the French Quarter!

The hotel is ideally situated for the major sights in New Orleans. Turn left out of the hotel and walk a few paces and you're at Jackson Square. The other direction and only a couple of blocks and you're on Bourbon Street. The Place d'Armes is a beautiful quaint hotel with a lovely courtyard with seating and a pool. I would suggest though that you don't book an interior room. Our room was meant to be with balcony or street view, which is kind of what we got. There were no windows in our room but it did at least open out onto an interior balcony but my daughter's room at the front of the hotel only had a couple of small windows. Therefore the rooms did seem rather dark but they were at least very tastefully decorated and were very clean and spacious. I would imagine that the interior rooms could be a little claustrophobic not having any windows. (only my thoughts!) Breakfast wasn't really great but adequate with only croissants and muffiins and juice, coffee etc. The desk staff maybe could have been a little more accommodating but we actually didn't really need their services while we were there. Robert though was very friendly and helpful!! We took a trip on the Natchez steamboat which was really nice and relaxing and took the bus to the Garden district. There are some fabulous restaurants and bars to be had very close by on Bourbon with non stop music!

Hotel is perfectly situated in the Quarter, has a lovely and secluded courtyard, rooms as old as anything in the area, and a pitiful contintntal breakfast. If you get one of the true courtyard view rooms, this is a great stay.

Great location, right in the middle of the Quarters. Hotel has a lot of character, clean, very small bathrooms and the beds were not comfortable, a bit old.

New Orleans is not what it used to be in the French Quarter and jazz severely missing... We'd not go back again. The river cruise excellent and plantation and swamp tours very good.

This hotel is everything I hoped it would be. I was looking for someplace charming, with an old world feel, and the Place D'Arms is it. The courtyard is beautiful. The hotel is made up of multiple restored 18th and 19th century buildings, that surround the courtyard. The rooms are adorable, with brick and wallpaper walls. The location is wonderful. Historic attractions, restaurants, shops, and bourbon street are all within walking distance. The St. Louis Cathedral, which is very close to the hotel, is absolutely stunning. However, as other reviewers have said, if you are looking for a perfectly clean hotel with tons of modern amenities, this isn't necessarily what you are looking for. It is an older hotel, and you get what comes with that. The rooms are small, televisions are far from new, the doors to the bathrooms are slatted, and the beds feel well used. Also, you may get an interior room without windows. That being said, the rooms are sanitary and cared for, and the service is excellent. In short, if you are looking for something cute that makes you feel like you are immersed in the charm of the French Quarter, this is it.

Ive read some reviews about this Hotel and had some doubts about staying there. First let me say, this is a nice place. Yes its a little old and can use some touch ups here and there. Lets face it the building is probably over 100 years old, so with that considered its holding up well. The Hotel is in a great location, central to just about everything. It has a lot of character, the staff is helpful and friendly. The room was large and clean, nice bathrooms. The one thing i would have to complain about was the bed, it needed to be replaced, other than that this is a great place and I would stay there again.

Room was extra large and clean. Service great except for check-in. Prepare to wait. Hotel location was 1/2 block from Jackson Square in the heart of the French Quarters. Walking distance to everything in the Quarters.
