Holiday Inn Resort Penang - بينانغ

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Resort Penang (Beach Wing) for 3 nights and despite some minor issues enjoyed our stay. The staff is very friendly and helpful, locationwise very close to various restaurants albeit at the far end of Batu Ferringhi. Breakfast is good value for money, a big selection however sometimes a long wait for refills. What we found unpleasant were the smelly carpets in the hallway (overdue to be cleaned) and some traffic noise (our room was towards the road and not the beach, so maybe you are better of choosing a room with beach view). We would recommend not to book the taxi back to the airport with the hotel but use a taxi from outside instead. The hotel charges MYR 90, whereas you are charged MYR 70 if you hail one from the street (agree price before boarding).

We had a great view over looking the beach even though we were in the hillside resort, rooms were very clean and comfortable, easy access to the beach and night market at night. the overpass connecting the two wings of the hotel has beautiful flowers, the hotel staff is friendly and helpful. bus station right outside the front door of the building

I was a bit upset with the service from holiday inn penang in ferringi beach. I have booked 2 rooms via internet. The norm check in time was 2 pm but when we arrived at 5 pm one of the room are still not ready. Reason given was late check out from previous guest as rooms was already allocated. So no other choice we took the room key to put our baggages while waiting for the 2 room. But when we reach our room, it was a smoking floor which we highlighted we wanted non smoking floor. And the strench in the room was bad. We went to reception to ask for another room but was told to wait and there are other guest checking in and they got their room. There is a problem with the hotel management. My impression for holiday inn was good but now no more.

We were in Penang for a 3 day holiday during Christmas & stayed at the Holiday Inn (Beach wing). The hotel is divided in the old Beach wing & the new Ferringhi wing. The Beach wing, as the name suggets, is right at the beach while the Ferringhi wing is across the street - the two wings are connected by an overhead walkway. The Beach wing is slightly old but well maintained. The hotel provides all the advertised facilities & the staff is helpful. We did not have any issues with the hotel service/staff during our stay. Some other observations regarding hotel/Penang: 1) This hotel is popular with families - expect a lot of noisy kids playing around the pool :-) 2) The beach is full of water sport operators (& jelly-fish warnings notices). A better option will be to enjoy the sun/water at the hotel swimming pool - note that you will be sharing the pool with a lot of kids but this will be true for most hotels in this area. 3) The hotel dining options are quite good. However, you can find several inexpensive eating options around the hotel - we chose to eat out most of the time. 4) There is a night market right outside the hotel - expect a lot of bargaining & don't be shy to quote 50% of asking price. 5) The hotel is quite far from the Airport (50 minute car ride in normal traffic) & Georgetown (30 minute car ride in normal traffic). Plan your day accordingly.

A nice hotel with huge clean room. Good location, with the night market just beside the hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. Minus - Although I book the room with seaview, I could only view half of it.

Holiday Inn Penang is newly renovated, but the service remains poor. This ia family holiday. My wfe liked the room, clean and large. My kids liked the balcony. We stayed in the Tower Block. At check in, although the booking says double queen beds and seaview with balcony, the counter staff explained it such that he was doing a personal favor upgrading us. My other room booking did not come with balcony - disappointing! The pool bar service was not just poor, its bad. I viewed the menu, asking for pizza, the staff simply said it's there. He did not asked me if I wanted drinks to go along. When the pizza arrived, I was swimming in the pool, the same staff approached my wife to take the bill. She couldn't remember the room number, and the staff gave her an impatient and nasty look, as if we couldn't pay for the food. We felt that we weren't treated like guests in the hotel. Lastly, the hotel location is only so so, 10mins walk from main food centers, amenities are relatively few. The only saving grace is the discount from Hotels.com. I can't imagine those guest paying full price with poor service.

Westerners will love this hotel, the staff are very friendly, the hotel is clean and modern and it is situated right on the beach. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

view is great. hotel is across the street from the beach, they have a building on the beach and across the street. Staff was very helpful.

We stayed 3 nights in the beach wing, in 2 rooms with 2 double beds. Both were clean and tidy and even though on the first floor, noise levels were non-existent. The Holiday Inn is in an ideal location on Batu Ferringhi, the night market is right outside the front door, along with a stretch of restaurants and bars in either direction. The beach sand was clean, though the water can be a little polutted with the various motorsports, but common to the entire area, regardless of hotel. Parking is limited on the beach wing, otherwise you're directed to the tower wing across the road with ample parking and no more than 2 mins away; just drop off first. We did not have breakfast in our room rate, but there are some excellent cheap eats up the road past Parkroyal that were far better value for money. This was our 2nd time within 12 months in Batu Ferringhi and definitely will return, most likely to the Holiday Inn.

This hotel is situated on one of the nicer beaches of Penang. We had a room with a seaview which was just beautiful. We found the rooms comfortable for a family with small children. Although we did not have breakfast at the hotel, it's convenient location made it easy to find small cafes with local food within walking distance. An added bonus is the night market along the main road just outside the hotel--great for shopping without the hassle of going into Georgetown. Our kids preferred the swimming pool to the beach as they found the beach crowded with parasailers and full of jetski fumes. For those interested in watersport activities, it is a good location.

Beware their is an open air night club right next to the hotel and they have loud music every night until 3-4am which will keep you awake. Staff are friendly but the hotel is old and not much activities for kids.

I just returned to the same hotel after 20 years in Penang. The hotel is still fantastic, the staff is great the rooms are clean, but the ocean became unusable. Due to the uncontrolled and fast development in the area the ocean has suffered the most. One can NOT swim in the ocean as it is full of jellyfish. This paradise has been lost to the developments.

The rooms are beautiful, very clean, tidy and their bathroom are even more beautiful, extremely clean with all the necessary equipment, a shower and a bath. The only disappointment at the hotel was the swimming pool which looked old and didn't work with the overall 5* star rooms.

We stayed on the tower side and the first room we had smelt of damp which made my wife cough. We asked to be moved and got a room on the 21st floor that had been refurnished and was very good. The hotel in general was good with good staff and facilities. It was well placed for the night market and if you want late drinks and music a good club is next door.

Unreal location best spot on island. travelled with 2 young children and everthing is within walking distance, and if u want to go in to georgetown the bus stop is right outside the hotel, pay the little bit extra and stay in the beach wing as the walk way between the two is very very slippery when wet!!! will definately stay here again!!!

The hotel is close to all amenities. Should you wish to catch the local bus to either Georgetown or Gurney Plaza bus stop located right outside. Plenty of taxis available if you want to use them. Right in the middle of the hotel area so not far to go either way.

I was a bit worried when i was reading the other reviews that we will stay in a shabby old hotel. yes, its old, but perfectly ok. we stayed with our two young kids. the pool maybe is a bit small, but nice service, clean rooms, food was ok. one disadvantage: the beach would be nice but due to all the motorsport activity (parasliding, jetski) it is dangerous there and very noicy but this has nothing to do with the hotel, it is a batu ferrighi problem. one good advice: fantastic restaurant about 5 mintutes walk from the hotel: Ferringhi Garden. great seafood and fantastic wines. Check it out!

Hotel rate is fine, i will consider it reasonable, surrounded by road side stores. loaction not v good as i need to drive a long stretch passing many private houses before reaching e hotel. hotel consider is clean but abit old. hotel staff at check in counter lack of customer service quality.

Overall, the hotel is good. Just that the location is fairly far from all the tourist spots and the road access is kind of narrow.

This hotel has obviously seen better days. Although I Whilst I couldn't fault the efforts made by the staff, the whole experience was disappointing. The water from the bathroom taps was brown. The maintenance engineer said this shouldn't have happened but was caused by an insufficient number of residents drawing water from the holding tanks on the roof. Very worrying. Although the sheets and pillowcases were clean, the pillows themselves had a most unpleasant smell to them. The food quality lacked consistency on a daily basis dependant on which chef was on duty.

The Holiday Inn in Penang is the perfect place for families and couples looking for the opportunity to rest and relax aswell as enjoy the water sports that are on offer. It is centrally located amongst a number of restaurants and the night markets. A short stroll from Anthonys Bar where you can enjoy the cheers and a massage.

Best pillows in the world!!

Good hotel in a good location. Rooms were very comfortable. We stayed in Ferringhi tower. Not on the beachfront but I beleive we got a better view of the street and the markets of a night time. The pool area was good as was the breakfast. No complaints at all.

Definitely, it needs a major renovation. The hardware is outdated, and the service is just so-so. The quality is so low that I can't believe it is the Holiday Inn I know of, many times lower than the other Holiday Inns I stayed in other parts of the world, where the staff greets me with my surname and I feel like home. The "sea view" room is on the 1st floor (which is called 2nd in U.S.), and we could barely see the sea. The windows are deliberately blocked so that it's impossible to open, but the window glass is old and dirty, so that you don't see through it easily. The shampoo, soap, and tooth paste are unsealed. Some of them apparently have been used. We made two calls and wait for 45 minutes before we finally see someone bring additional shampoos/soaps/tooth paste of the same condition!! There are hairs on the pillow, and the bathroom is untidy. The floor is full of scratch and unclean. With such a nasty condition, we can barely fall asleep. The facilities are also very old: half of the game machines are "out of order" and most of the chairs need to be replaced. To be fair, some staff are working hard to balance the quality, and help us to move to another floor the next day. They apologized several times. One manager even took notes about our troubles. I guess they understand their problem but they just don't have the means to improve it. But THEY-- HAD-- ALREADY-- RUINED-- OUR-- ANNIVERSARY!!!!

It's my 1st trip here and: 1. We were upgraded to the more convenient side of the buildings that does not require us to cross the small but busy coastal road to get to the beach, yaye! 2. Rooms are quite beautiful - the brown motif on silky cushion cover and special carpet is a visual treat that adds contemporary touch to this establishment. 3. They have rentable WII games at the games room, that's cool! 4. It's hot at the lobby, but the lemon-press ice-water machine is a delightfully considerate facility! 5. LOVE THIS!!! - their toiletries are the new-generation No Paraben type which is safer to human body, I really appreciate this because these chemicals apparently can affect our body's sex hormone level (in a bad way) and most hotels can't be bothered with getting to this level - some partner famous toiletries brands that smell nice and look respectable or even 'natural' but contain more chemicals than our body wish to receive. If possible, I hope Holiday Inn can submit their toiletries' ingredients at Environmental Working Group's COSMETICS DATABASE site to get a safety rating and let us guests know how caring and up-to-date this hotel is! : ) (That said, we could've done without a communication tower that imperfects our otherwise great view of a green mountain; the lobby sofa and beach lounge chairs could be better-maintained or replaced. But regardless of these, our stay was a happy one!) : )

We stayed at the Hotel Inn in Penang for 4 nights with our 5 year old son. There is a free kids club which is great for those mums and dads who want 5 mins peace and quiet, although we only used it once. My son spent most of his time in the pool or playing with the lifeguards who were really friendly. There are daily activities for those who are looking for something to do. The staff couldn't do enough for us and the service was exceptional. My only complaint was that our air conditioning in our room was leaking water, and I think had I been bothered to complain, they would have moved us!!!

Schöne Lage direkt am Strand, freundlicher Service, gutes zum Strand hin offenes Restaurant und Liegewiese unter Palmen. Der Tower wird gerade renoviert (Aufzüge und Empfang), die Zimmer dort verfügen über ein modernes Bad und, dank einer großen Panoramascheibe über eine herrliche Aussicht.

住的是HILL VIEW那栋楼.高层也能看见海.房间内的设施和卫生情况还是非常好的,可以达到4星标准.只是房间里有非常大的发霉的味道,住在里面非常难受. 从机场可以直接做102路公车到酒店,不堵车的情况大概1小时40分钟左右.

フロントの対応が良くありませんでした。 連泊しましたが、アサインされたお部屋が非常階段の隣で音が響いて夜中でもうるさかった。 外の道路を通る車の音が部屋の中まで聞こえて良くなかった。

Huone Ferringhi Towerissa (parvekkeellinen huone merinäköalalla) oli hieno. Näköalat 22. kerroksesta olivat hyvät. Hotellin aamiainen oli monipuolinen ja maistuva. Allasalue ja ranta-alue olivat hyvät lapsiperheen kannalta. Läheisen moskeijan rukousäänet herättivät aluksi aamuisin.

Wir waren absolut zufrieden mit unserem Aufenthalt im Holiday Inn Resort in Penang.

部屋自体はきれいで良いのですが、下水のような臭いがして、嫌な感じがしました。
