Only thing we didn't like was that you have to pay for parking and also they started vacuuming the hallway at 9 AM.

Our hotel stay was very good. We enjoyed the close location to the Alamo. On our arrival to the hotel, the desk clerk who checked us in, was not very welcoming. His tone was as if we were at the wrong hotel! Overall, our stay turned out well. A different clerk checked us out, was very friendly. This made our stay worth while.

It was great!!!!.... At 1st da room I received had a broken door lock but once I talked to front desk he game me a new room right away, with a great view of downtown and just a better room all around.... Its only about 4 min walk to the Alamo and I recommend this place to anyone'

The hotel is in the process of being up graded. We where lucky and got to stay in a king room that was remolded. It was remolded nicely. Would stay at the hotel again. The location was good it was a short walk to the River Walk. The neighborhood walking to the river seemed safe. We walked home from the river after the bars closed and no one bothered us.

I traveled to San Antonio on a Mini-Vacation. I found the hotel to be quiet comforting. The room was nice and clean. We had all the necessities. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The distance from the river walk was not far at all and we had no problems walking from and to our room. The hotel served "grad-n-go" breakfast which was a downer and the parking fee was somewhat pricey considering we did not move our vehicle at all during the stay. It was an overall great hotel to stay in.

The only benefit of staying at the Red Roof Inn San Antonio, is the location. Service was awful! We arrived at dawn extremely tired and the night manager was very RUDE. The following morning, hot water was not available to shower. Management also did not handle this inconvience. Never to stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay and in fact, we booked with them for Saturday night as well.

Loved San Antonio! This Hotel is located within walking distance of the Alamo and Riverwalk. and was reasonable in price. Nice room and great breakfast snacks.

It was real good..

Our room was located on a Newly remodeled floor of hotel, so the room was good. However remodeling was in progress on floors below so we could hear hammering during naps. What turned me off to this hotel is we woke up at 5 am to prepare for our work day and there was NO hot water for a shower. We called the front desk and no answer. We walked down and told the clerk about the lack of hot water. He said Thete was a boiler issue but nothing about when repairs would be made. My husband took a cold shower and headed to his job. I waited until after 8 and had some hot water. I will not stay here again. I would rather pay 50 dollars more for a nice room without all the noise and plumbing issues!!!!!!

The hotel overall isnt that bad. Probably between a 2 and 3. It was our first stay here and it is just a few blocks to the Riverwalk / Rivercenter Mall / Alamo. There was some roudiness in the halls late at night but it wasnt excessive. We had no hot water late the first night / next morning but it was quickly repaired. Things happen. The rooms are spacious, nicely appointed and more than adequate. Overall I'd give it a 2.5 or so.

Red Roof Inn is fairly close to the RiverWalk and front desk service was really helpful but the hotel is old, rather run down in a rather suspect neighborhood with a breakfast offering that was really lacking even in continental fare!

The toilet for this room was broken for my entire stay. It would not flush properly, and would continue to run for hours if you didn’t go giggle the handle after you flushed it. Maintenance worked on the toilet every day, but could not repair it. My first night there, I had NO soap or shampoo in the room to wash with. When I called the front desk and asked them to have some sent up I was advised he could not do this because he was the only one there. But I could come to the front desk and pick some up. I had to get redressed and go back down to the lobby to get some soap. On my third day my door key would not open the door causing me to have to wait for hotel maintenance to open the door. After giving up on maintence to show up, I had to go back down to the front desk and have my key reset . After doing this I had to go back up and opened my door. This time delay almost caused me to miss my 2:30 PM meeting at the convention center. I did enjoy the breakfast every morning, and they did keep the room clean.

The hotel is undergoing renovation and we were lucky enough to get a top floor renovated room. However, you dont see or hear the builders, except the machine outside - not too bad. Pool is outside under the interstate - a little unusual for us but it was a very cold refreshing dip! Ver convienient to the Alamo and other attractions - walk within about 20min. Breakfast is grab and go since there isnt any room, decent enough. You have to pay for parking at the hotel, $7 currently (4/2012) which I think is a little steep since there are parking lots over the road which appear to be cheaper.

My wife and I stayed at the Red Roof Inn for a mini honeymoon and we had a nice stay at the hotel! The staff was very friendly and always greeted us with a "hello" and a smile when we were coming or going from the hotel. We only had one problem with the hotel and that was when we went to take our showers, the pipes would make a very loud and scary sound and the water got extremely hot, where my wife got burned in the shower. We called down to the front desk and they came up to try and figure out what the problem was. They couldn't figure it out but said that we could use a vacant room across the hall to take our showers and they would make note of it to the maintenance. They even gave us a discount off our room for the inconvenience! Well the next morning is the day we were checking out which checkout time is 11am, well the maintenance guy decided he wanted to call at 830am to see if he can come into our room to fix it. The least he could've done was wait until we checked out! Other than that, our stay was a nice one, and I would definitely stay there again b/c it was very close to the stuff downtown!

Talk about location! It was literally a 5 minute walk to The Alamo and Riverwalk. It was quiet and the hotel staff was VERY pleasant. There was only one issue we had with this place. There was food on the corner of the floor when we went in. It was documented by hotel staff and we were assured that they would address the person who cleaned it. I believe this is true because the person I told about the food did not look happy when he found out. Don't let that stop you from staying there. It really is a great place!

Be prepared to pay $7/day for parking, there are very few tv channels, only continental breakfast - no waffles here, no complimentary newspaper, outdoor pool right next to the interstate - noise unbelievable, rooms facing interstate very noisy, difficult finding "on ramp" when leaving motel. The only reason you want this motel is that you can walk to all of the downtown tourist attractions & not have to worry about taking your car or parking. We discovered in the morning that our shower was broken & so couldn't take showers. When we went down for the breakfast & told the clerk, there was no offer of compensation in any form.

great location

This hotel was dirty, and theac didnt work. They switched our room and the tub wouldnt drain and the iron was broken. I will not use again....

I was impressed with the desk staff. Jesse bent over backwards to get me a printout of tickets I had purchased online. Super place to stay!

We were not pleased with our stay at this hotel! Had requested in advance a frig and microwave but couldn't get one. Would only give us one key and there where three adults in the room. TV had problems with sound on certain channels. Staff overall not very helpful or friendly. When complained about the TV situation they said they were going to call security!! It was convenient to the Alamo and Riverwalk only a short walk otherwise would not ever stay there again.

I was very disappointed with the hotel cleaniness and it is located only blocks from the River Walk but those blocks are very long. (haha) Was not near as close to the River Walk as expected. The bathroom was very tiny and very old, so looked very dirty. The room was still being cleaned when we were told it was ready. Over all would not recommend nor stay at this hotel again.

The hotel is only a couple blocks from the center of town. It's right next to the freeway, and we had a room facing it, but we could not hear it at all. I think it is a decent hotel for the price and location. It was pretty clean and quiet. I would recommend it as a cheaper alternative to the others in town.

.We were on our way to Port Aransas and stopped in SA for the night. We checked in around 10:00pm. The idiot behind the front desk was rude and unhelpful and unhappy about the fact that we had booked with Hotels.com. The beds are very hard and we were lucky to get one bar of soap. The next morning an employee (Willie) walked right through me as I was getting off the elevator. Their breakfast closes at 9:00 not 10:00.

Bed was worn out and VERY uncomfortable .. on the other hand tho the shower had great water pressure.

Friendly staff, and clean room every day. Also, great location, just a couple of blocks away from the Alamo and Riverwalk. However, not very many options for breakfast, which ended early. Also, parking costs $5 per day. Overall, pleasant experience.

Stayed at your hotel to see a friend graduate at Langley. We had a great time, the hotel was great as well as the staff.....would stay again!!!

This hotel is close to many sights downtown. They were within walking distance to many. The down side of this is that it is next to the freeway and if you are on the wrong side of the motel there is noise all night.

We had a very nice & pleasant stay with the family. I'm glad I upgraded to deluxe room for $5 night more which was offered at checkin. This included microwave & mini fridge in room. Nice view of downtown San Antonio. Secure parking in their parking garage for $5 per day. I would definetly recomment this red-roof for a nice family stay. I will be coming back to this hotel in the summer.

Everything was excellent. They were very helpful and available. I plan to stay there again. It is two blocks from one of the entrances of the riverwalk.
