Pod 51 - نيويورك

إنه فندقٌ رائع، رغم أن الغرف صغيرة إلا أنها كانت مثالية لقضاء عطلة طويلة بنهاية الأسبوع، وقد أقمت في غرفة بها سرير بطوابق، كما كانت الحمامات مشتركة أيضا، ولكنني لم اضطر أبدا إلى الإنتظار حتى يفرغ الحمام، وكانت جميعها نظيفة للغاية طوال الوقت. كذلك كان موقع الفندق مثاليا وبه العديد من البارات والمطاعم القريبة، و كان يبعد أيضاً مسافة عشر دقائق سيرا على الأقدام عن شارع "fifth Avenue". سوف أقيم به مرة أخرى بكل تأكيد.

لقد كانت هناك بطانية واحدة خفيفة، ولم تكن هناك أية بطانيات إضافية، ولم يكن بإمكاني إغلاق الأباجورات جيدا، لذلك فكان هناك بعض الأضواء بالغرفة، كذلك المدفأة لم تكن تعمل. وعندما كنت أقوم بتسجيل الدخول كان هناك شخصا واحدا فقط بمكتب الإستقبال، بالإضافة غلى طابور طويل من البشر الصابرين الذين ينتظرون دورهم في تسجيل الدخول. هناك الكثير من الفنادق الأخرى الأفضل، والتي أسعارها تتساوى مع أو تزيد قليلا عن أسعار هذا الفندق بنفس المنطقة.

لقد استمتعت به تماما، سوف أقيم به ثانيةً، ورغم أن الغرفة كانت أشبه بالغرف التي توجد في مساكن الطلبة، إلا أنها كانت وافية للغرض الذي كنت أريده تماما، حيث أنني ذهبت إلى هناك ببساطة لكي أنام وأستحم فقط، وكان الموقع يبعد نحو 20 دقيقة سيرا على الأقدام عن ميدان تايمز كما كان يسهل الوصول إلى المترو أيضا ولكن من طريق آخر. سوف أوصي بالتأكيد بالإقامة هناك.

كان الفندق أقل من توقعاتي على كافة المستويات، فالفراش كان في حجم سرير الأطفال، لأن طولي هو6 أقدام، فلم تكن المرتبة تتسع لجسدي بالكامل، وقد كانت الحمامات مشتركة ولكنها كانت قذرة تماما، وكان التكييف الهوائي يصدر هواءا ساخنا، أما جهاز التليفزيون فكان في حجم " الآي باد" الذي كان معي...لا أوصي به لأي شخص طوله أكثر من 5 أقدام.

كان الفندق جيدا، ولكن الغرفة كانت صغيرة للغاية، كما كانت الحمامات مشتركة.

Why spend money on a room that you only need for sleeping? Why would you go to NYC just to sleep in a hotel room? I cose Pod51 as an affordable place to stay while attending a graduation, spending time with relatives, and exploring the City. Your basic needs are met, no frills, but safe, quiet, and clean. Very hip lobby, I loved their coffee and the breakfasts looked great. Plenty of restaurants and shopping in the area, close to bus and subway transportation. My air conditioner didn't work, but the problem was fixed right after I reported it. Spent my money on tea at the Plaza.

Room was very clean and also very small, although I knew that before booking it. What I didn't expect was the attached bathroom would be the size of an airplane bathroom. The shower was 3ft by 3ft! Anyway, for the price I would put up with it again.

The hotel is great-ive stayed many times but there was water on the carpet-I guess from the a/c I told the front desk but it didnt go away-it just started to smell bad.

It is a cute and functional hotel...think cabin on a cruise ship. I am the type that just uses a hotel room for sleeping and usually don't do much of that, so I am in my hotel 4-5 hours per day max so this was ideal - why pay for something you aren't going to use. It is clean and everything works - but little things like: No battery cover on remote control, shower handle missing set screw so it falls off in your hand, desk very wobbly, had conditioner and soap but no shampoo for 2 days. If they spent maybe $50 per room to fix the little things, I would give them a higher rating. In the end, it did what it needed to do though.

The Pod 51 and sister Hotel Pod 39 are both Perfect little cabins for an amazingly low price. I've stayed & paid every price & size room that Manhattan has to offer and let me tell you. You can't beat Pod. Classy, Mod Little Cabins with Private Bathrooms. Compact yea, but you're in the center of the greatest city on planet earth...did you really come for the bed?

I liked the place. The rates were inexpensive, considering that it was in midtown Manhattan, and I got a good night's rest before heading out the next day. The rooms were small, but this isn't a place where you hang out in your room-- it's a place where you can have some privacy and get some rest for the night. Particularly if you have a reason to be in midtown, this place is well worth staying in if you want more privacy than you would have in a hostel.

Biggest mistake I made in years staying here in Manhattan overnight to make early connection. Shared bathroom does not mean semi-private; dormitory style is more appropriate. And the bathroom was nothing more than a commode (without appropriate ventilation). As for the room itself, the size was expected but the walls are paper thin so that you can hear any conversation or movement on the entire floor (and I had some neighbors who didn't shut up all night). The bed was like sleeping on bedrock. About the only thing decent was the wi-fi and, based upon other reviews, I would say this is the exception to the rule.

remind of alcatraz

The rooms are very small even for New York and without a bathroom. For a one night stay it was half the price of other area hotels but still over $200.

Room is small, but in good condition (queen bed with bath). Hotel location very good, close to Grand Central. The room with bathroom is a bit pricey for its small size, though. There is a restaurant called Salvation Taco on the first floor which is a good place, but it is now super popluar so it takes a while to get seated if you are looking to eat dinner there. Also, you need to be wary if you are staying on the 16th floor, one floor away from the roofdeck. There is a little kitchen there and the Pod Hotel employees go there and yell in loud voices from early morning until late in the night. It can be rough if you are there to get some sleep.

Loved this spot! Clean and modern, great location. Shared baths don't feel weird as they are complete so no changing spaces to shave/shower etc. Love the lights over the door indicating which are vacant. Thanks to Nick for the excellent customer service! This place is a keeper!

Although the sleeping quarters are small, we found the hotel to be centrally located in Manhatten and within walking distance to many sightseeing destinations: Central Park, Times Square, Broadway shows etc. The rooms were clean and really make the most of a small space. Sharing a bathroom was never a problem. We never had to wait to use the showers or bathrooms. And they don't skimp on the service. The staff was polite and helpful with any questions we had. Beautiful view of the city from the roof top deck and we found the hotel gardens a great serene place to unwind from the noise of the city. We will definitely stay again should we return to New York.

Pod 51 was in a good location just what you would expect from lower East side Manhattan, quite safe area, very basic rooms but clean, I would stay there again but would prefer a hotel in the Upper West side as nearer all the things you want to do, see etc.

I was with my granddaughter and we loved being in midtown Manhattan. That made up for the teeny tiny room and shared bathroom. We were gone most of the time so it didn't make too much difference. We felt safe and liked going to the rooftop at the end of the day. Excellent service.

Two things come to mind - 1) with a couple exceptions, the attitude of the front desk staff (including the concierge) is awful, as if we were bothering them. Unlike the doormen and the housekeeping staff, who were all very kind and polite. and 2) in an effort to appear hip, they pipe that techno music into every corner of the hotel (including elevator, hallways, and bathrooms), which just turns into annoying after dark (the bathrooms could use some ventilation instead). For the price, you can't beat it. But if you are older than 25, it's not a comfortable place.

This hotel is in a safe and upscale area. But poor maintenance is making this an unworthy old broken down Pod 51. What you see online is not what you're going to get! And this is so sad, cause this hotel could be the very cool hotel that it was meant to be (Pod 31 is a better choice). This was worth every penny when it first opened. Not in today's market. The keys to saving this pod is upscale maintenance at a big price!!

Clean, reasonable, great service on a random request I made to the concierge--everything was fantastic, except the darned air conditioner didn't keep the room cool. And you know NYC when it gets warm.

Perfect spot Great location and really good staff Shared bathrooms very clean, and 4 of them per floor Small rooms obviously, but quiet-what more do you need in Manhatten. If you are in the room all day you are missing a great city

Place is cool and is in fun spot in city. I am on the road a lot and stay here because I am very happy with the way this place can make you feel hip.

If you are just coming in to sleep and go, this is a great choice. Simple. Enough room (for one anyway), modern and clean.

This was a very comfortable cozy hotel. It's not the Ritz, but if you are looking for a comfortable, clean, quiet room, without breaking the bank, this is the place to stay. I will be staying there again.

The hotel is aging very quickly. Poor maintenance is bring the hotel down. What you see online is not what you get when you arrive. It was worth the price when it first opened, but to pay over $100 for a night, its not worth it. Its sad because it's such a cool hotel, and in a very good safe location. Pod 39 is your best bet. What you see online is what you get there. Brand new with a lot more to offer. Better maintenance could make Pod 51 shine again!

The hotel was perfect for my time in NY. The location was only a 15 min walk away from Times square. The subway was 5 mins away. The hotel itself was very clean and very well maintained. I was hesitant at first with regards to the shared bathroom, but it turned out to be perfectly fine. It was cleaned at least thrice a day and there were never any lines. Very well maintained overall. Would recommend this for people who want to be out and about in NYC but still come back to a clean and comfortable place.

Excellent hotel. I love the idea of a Pod . . . and everything in that room fit perfectly, with no space left unused.

A perfect place to stay and explore Manhattan. Only a 10 minutes walk to the next subway. A very relaxing terace on the 14 floor. Perfect to relax after a day in this great city. I`ll recomend it to my friends.

The room was a little dusty and smelled a bit like mildew. Overall though it was clean, in a great location, and was great for a quick overnight stay.

Love the garden & roofdeck of this hotel!! Very relaxing after an energizing NYC day. The rooms are cozy. I stayed once in a room with a bathroom & once with shared bathrooms. both are just fine , with shared being a more cost effective way to stay !!

a/c didn'tseem to work but opened window and was fine Convenient...couple blocks from 4 5 6 on Lexington Food and outside space nice improvement.

The room that I stayed in was a double with bunk beds. It was a bit smaller than I imagined but there were two tv's and a sink so that was nice. For the price and location, would definitely recommend.
