It was very good, close to everything we wanted to do. Clean, good service and surrounded by all kind of markets.

I selected online a non-smoking room. Once I opened the door the smell of cigarettes was overwhelming. I asked for a different room but they didn't have one with 2 beds available. I had to settle for a king bed a a cot. I can believe that 1 of the towers is dedicated to smokers, with ashtrays in the room included. I thought that was a thing of the past. Make sure you call an ask for the room in the tower closer to the beach (the nonsmoking tower)

We had an amazing time at this hotel! We were upgraded from a partial ocean view to an ocean view upon arrival and it was amazing! Our room was spacious and even had a vanity! We were just a few steps to the beach and walking distance to several restaurants, bars and stores. We will definitely be returning here!

Great hotel in a great location, no wireless in hotel but plenty places with free access nearby. Yummy breakfast but dinner buffet wasn't really worth the price.

We spent 4 nights in Pacific Beach Hotel after 7-nights cruising trip in "Pride of America". We enjoyed a comfort, safe and enjoyable stay in this hotel. I think I will take this hotel if I visit Waikiki again.

this hotel is living in the stone age first of all i stayed at ohana east no charge for internet and pool was good size where this pacific beach hotel is still chargin in room safe fees like in the 1990"s and a pool 6meters by 3meters embarassiingg as ther is 800 rooms plus then the water presure in bath was shocking it was a run down hotel with partial ocean view ......

This was our second visit this hotel. Location is excellent and the staff very friendly.

The bed was horribly hard and uncomfortable. The pool was closed while we were there and is no bigger then a couple of large tubs put together and is mostly in the shade. Parking is $20 a night. Internet access was via a LONG wire in your room (no wifi) and was $50 for the week. The saving grace was its location which is right across the street from the beach.

Despite some nice stuff on the first floor (including a huge salt water aquarium). this hotel fails at basics. The rooms have no internet access. The AC system has only 2 settings, off and full blast. Stay somewhere else.

It's as close to Waikiki Beach as you can get without being on the beach. Every room has a view. Decor is dated. Pool was under renovations during our visit but the hotel arranged for guests to use a neighbouring hotel's facilities. We enjoyed our stay.

Pacific Beach Hotel was in the most central location of Waikiki and so close to everything. Whilst the rooms are a little dated, the room was very, very clean and spacious. Would stay here again

Stayed here for the weekend and the place needs improvement. It smells odd ( tolerable but who wants to tolerate anything on Vacation). The room equipment is in bad condition. I went to iron a shirt, the Iron was stained with stuff on it and the iron board was broken and kept falling over. The hotel seems eager to charge you for anything and you feel like you have to be on guard. Hotel safe is 3.00 and can be carried out the door. I will say though that there was no bed bugs as I had heard, the only thing that was clean was the bed. The carpet is old and doesn't really even sit on the ground right( Seems like its not tacked down. Overall, not quite a hostel but not a resort more like a place that you find along the road on a trip on the mainland. Good price compared to the other places and great location. Should be torn down and rebuilt to suit the area. Staff was pretty friendly though.

We had two rooms and seven guests in the hotel. we booked a standard room and recieved a free upgrade to a sliver of an ocean view. parking is 20 a day to self park. late arrival means your on your own, not even an apology for not having anyonevavailable. room very worn. the double beds are hard and have cheap linnens and covers. very uncomfortable, my wife was unable to sleep. wallpaper in room was peeling off walls. balcony doors rattled all night from the wind on the 35th floor. tile in the bathroom was dingy and stained. adjoining room doors dont work. there is no room latch on hallway door, never offered wifi or any explanation of services provided. I have stayed in a lot of three and two star hotels, this hotel desreves one because it is a good location snd has an amazing aquarium.

Great hotel with access to self-parking reasonably closeby. The hotel location is a little confusing to find. Rather than finding the lobby at 2490 Kalakaua Ave it is actually located on a side street just to the west of the actual address. It was quite confusing to locate at night with massive traffic and pedestrians around. Finally had to drop off a person to walk around the address on Kalakaua until the actual lobby could be found.

Over priced. Carpets were dirty. Great location.

Perfect location for reasonable price. I got the partial ocean view and room was good. Would book this hotel again when we come back

We stayed at Pacific beach Hotel because I have been to mHawaii several times and the location for Waikiki is perfect. Walk across the street to the beach.... McDonalds right next door, vclose to the zoo and Diamond Head...thats the secret...drive to diamond head beach and get away from the crowded beach scene of waikiki and get isolation only 10 mins from the hotel. Food was great at hotel, staff friendly etc. Definitely reccommend to anyone... good stay...good time... we went to north shore to go catch some waves (we are surfers)....stayed at Turtle Bay Resort......now thats a hotel !!!!!!!! and caught 20 foot sunset beach.... woooo hooooo......

Great location, especially if easy beach access is desired. Fabulous restaurant inside. Very helpful staff. Nice features within the hotel, loved the ukelele lesson. You should enjoy staying here. We didn't have enough time to really evaluate or compare to others nearby.

Charged $20 per hour for late checkout. Thought this was rediculous with 3 pm check in and 11 am checkout.

The valet was rude and obviously has NEVER had any type of customer service training. The bellman were too busy discussing sports and other personal topics to assist me with my very large bags and with directions to the front desk. Tyler, the front desk agent was very kind and efficient. Housekeeping services were very good. Room service never picked up my tray - from the first day to the day I checked out, it was outside my door - that was unsanitary and a little bit gross. The food at the breakfast buffet was so very uninspired. the food was quite sad - all items dried and and over cooked in very hot chafing dishes, not all items were labeled, so it was anyone's guess what was being offered. The location was convenient, but overall, the hotel looked dated and it was clear that most of the staff working there could care less about you or the quality of your stay. I travel to Waikiki often for business and was looking for a new 'home base'. This hotel will not be that base for my team and I and I shall never stay there again. Aloha!

I was a little worried about booking this hotel after reading previous reviews but I was more than happy with my stay. The location of the hotel is ideal to the beach, cheap surfboard/ paddle board rentals, shopping, and local restaurants/ bars. Check out the Banyan hotel for a great local, non-starbucks coffee shop. It is very nice that it is toward the end of Waikiki as it is much more quiet and on a small side street with less traffic. The hotel was a little dated (the aquarium is great) but for the rate I received for a great view of Diamond Head, partial ocean view and full balcony I was more than happy with my decision to stay here. The room itself was extremely clean and large despite the dated, standard hotel furniture. I kept my eyes out the balcony and on the view. Check-in and concierge were very helpful. I will definitely stay here next time.

We were on our honeymoon and the hotel was great. Very friendly and helpful staff. We stayed in an 'Ocean View' room which was spacious with a descent view. The room was VERY clean and housekeeping did a super job of cleaning it everyday while we were out. Many people have said the beds are bad - nope - beds were very comfortable. The hotel IS walking distance to many attractions, The zoo is a 2 minute walk away and a very nice little place to go, especially in the morning when there are fewer people. There ARE many homeless people about but they are everywhere, not just in front of this hotel. That being said the police station is right down the street and you see cop cars everywhere so no need to be frightened (also there are tourist ambassadors in yellow shirts everywhere also who are there to assist and make you fell safe) - but the homeless folks are not threatening, in fact if you stop to chat they are indeed very friendly, much like everyone in Hawaii. Yes, as many have said, there are many Japanese tourists...good for them, they deserve a holiday too. They are friendly and courteous tourists who keep to themselves but if appraoched are very happy to meet you and chat. Perhaps instead of being critical of the Japanese tourists those people could have helped them have an easier time by translating for them or explaining something for them. Just because the menu looks to have Japanese writing does not mean it was translatted properly. Speaking of menus, we did manage to eat at the fishtank restaurant in the hotel for the buffet dinner - expensive but very yummy with king crab, prime rib and even a chocolate fountain to dip fruit into - it was worth the price and the giant aquarium IS fun to look at. Many people have said the pool is small and terrible - we used it almost everyday. It is small, sure, but the ocean is big and across the street. The pool was fun and exileratingly cold which made it wonderful to jump into the jakuzzi next to it. It was nice to

The hotel is a bit out dated as far as furniture along with the typical wear and tear from years of use. BUT, the rooms are well maintained and comfortable; plus the prices were acceptable.

Great Location! It is worth the money you pay.

Great Location, beautiful aquarium there was a lot of parking available however I wish we didn't have to pay $20 a day to park. room size was spacious and room was clean but shower had rust and mildew. Elevators took extremely long we ended up using the stairs. No security room key required in elevator to go up to rooms. I would probably stay here again if not for the parking fee.

The hotel and my room were both lovely and a great value at the price I paid. The only downside, the wait for the elevators was sometimes a bit long, partly due to a large function on Sat nite, and a peak-time checkout on Sunday.

The hotel is located "across" from Waikiki Beach, but the picture doesn't show the very busy street that separates the hotel from the beach. The beach has beautiful sand with a wave-crash wall which is wonderful. Surfers are in the water by 6:00 a.m. Towels for the beach are available at the front desk. The view is awesome. The hotel has been around for awhile so there are places within it that need a little renovation. You can park your car in the ramp for fee and the Zoo is just a 5 minute walk down the street. Some people would be unhappy with the night-life and continuous noise until the wee hours of the morning, but if your room is on the side of the hotel (partial ocean-view) or in upper tower, noise won’t be a factor. All in all, you can’t beat the view of Waikiki with its aqua blue waters. Enjoy the in hotel restaurant, it was a hit with its 3 story aquarium. Food was good and service top notch.

When we got to our room it was still dirty(coffee pot/cups from prior guest still there), shower floor sticky from old shower mat which had been removed and not replaced), toliet seat not fastened down, when you sat down on it would move) this was a standard room, up grade(I would NOT recommend a standard room, upgrade might be better) The location was great and how long are you in your room anyway

Great value for money 3 star hotel. Central to most things .Walk to many good restaurants. Beach across road. Would suit people who don't want to hire a car, although car parking available at extra daily cost. Lifts in the original tower are quite noisy if you are allocated a nearby room.Bathrooms are small but adequate.

A once good hotel which is now very tired. The complex itself needs a good refurbish. The restaurant does not cater for european's

The hotel was in a great location with the beach at our front door, The rooms were clean and tidy, however the bed was a little hard. The buffet breakfast was great with all sorts of food to cater for all different people. I would recomend this hotel to other people and i would stay here again. Thankyou Hotels.com.

We stayed at PCB from 12/25/11 to 12/30/11 with 4 people. The beds are very small for 2 people. There is no room in this hotel with queen beds, I was told. And because we already prepaid with hotels.com, we cannot go to another hotel. The A/C does not have good control and is noisy. It is either too cold for the person lying next to it or we have to turn it off. Internet access is not included. Luckily, we have 2 Android phones that we used to tether our laptops. Parking is $20 a day which sucks even more. On the plus side, it is located at the south end of Waikiki and in the middle of everything. Just across the street from the beach and millions of shopping venues. The views from our balcony was great if we looked left (toward the beach) or looked right (toward the hills).

Pacific Beach Hotel has a great location right on the beach at Waikiki. The rooms are nice and also clean but nothing extravagant to it. The hotel caters mostly to Japanese tourists. Given the reasonable room rates and the wonderful location on the beach its a very good buy.

Great location, adjacent to Waikiki beach, walking distance from the zoo, international market place and other tourist interest. The pool area was closed during our stay.
