We went to Lisbon for the weekend, chose this hotel online because saw it was well located, which is true. Just steps away from the centre, from the tour buses, and well known yellow tramways. However, the entrance is quite disppointing, the room is clean but beds are not confortable and the TV is from 1995. Not many channels available. Room service is expensive for Lisbon. The staff was not super friendly, they did they job, that's about it. The breakfast was included, which was nice, it was a normal continental breakfast. Nothing exceptional. Do not change your money at reception as they have a crazy high rate. Do it before arriving at the hotel. There was AC in the room which is nice but during the weekend we spent there, we had bad weather, and the heat did not work. No one cared of coming up to have a look at it. All in all, just an average hotel, definitely not a 4 star. On another note, we had to stay in another hotel for one night due to unexpected reasons, and we ended up staying in Alif hotel, which was only 3 star hotel, but we were surprised to see it was exactly the same level as the Mundial, cheaper and with flat screen TV and heater working wonders!!

My wife and I went to Lisbon with another couple to watch Manchester City play Sporting Lisbon.We have been to Lisbon before,and the Hotel Mundial provided more than we expected.We stayed for five days,and,after the first day, as soon as we sat down,our drinks appeared like magic.Roof terrace is amazing.Staff are brilliant,and nothing is too much trouble.we asked to move rooms to be near our friends,and after going out for the day,all our things were already in another room when we got back.Breakfast was excellent buffet.Quality hotel I would recommend to anyone.I would definately stay there again

Plus - location. Price - cheap (in Feb) Sun terrace Minus - uncomfy beds, room a little too cold (in Feb), personally wasn't so impressed with breakfast, but it was free

Everything about this hotel was top notch. I stayed there for a week, using it as a homebase to explore Lisbon and its environs, and to relax after a hectic whirlwind tour of Spain and Morocco the week before. Location: Simply couldn't be better, in the heart of the touristy area but not in an unpleasant way. Easy to get to and from the airport, and on all the public and sightseeing transportaion options. Staff: Professional, attentive yet not overbearing. Doorman to greet you and assist in any way, although I didn't need anything. Room was perfectly and promptly attented to the whole time. Room: Very nice, large bathroom with bath/shower combo, ample hot water all the time. TV was a little dated with not too many channel options, but that isn't a big deal for me. Plenty of room to unpack clothes, etc. Bed was comfortable, not luxurious but good enough. Breakfast buffet: Scrambled eggs, sliced ham and frankfurter type sausages for those that requrie a hot breakfast. But the real treat was all the beautiful fresh fruit, great Portuguese cheeses and marmalades, and fresh bread and rolls. Also was cereals and other options that I ignored. Hotel bar was shockingly expensive, as was the in house wi-fi, but there were internet cafes and bars all around the area. Lots of nice shopping meters away, and a view of the castle overlooking Lisbon to boot.. A great place to stay in Lisbon.

Even with a confirmation No. Reception was unable to find my reservation on check-in. Check- out the next morning was fraught and it took 20 minutes to convince staff that I had paid in advance. The first floor "international" restaurant only served Portuguese wines and my Cannaloni was dry and did not match the menu description. Several other diners near me were unhappy with their food. The enthusiasm of the front of house staff needs to be matched by skills in the kitchen. Room itself was comfortable enough however the lighting was poor in the room and bathroom.

Very convenient to visit the castle, Alfama, Baixo, Chiado and Bairro Alto. During the day we could walk to almost any part of the old city. At night we would take a taxi. The hotel gives 10% discount voucher for purchases made at the ground floor street stores of the hotel building. There is a nice breakfast buffet that in our case came included with the room price. Internet is available in the lobby for a fee and in the room as well. The room was comfortable and we had views of the castle and Alfama quarter. The bar at the back of the hall has interesting collection of different shaped bottles of spirits. The hotel also provided free parking in the basement of the building. Coming out of the garage might be tricky due to the steep spiral ramp (harder if you have manual drive). An elevator gets you from the garage to the hall of the hotel. People at the front desk were very courteous and nice. Also the door man was very helpful getting us taxi at night. It is a good hotel for what it offers, the location and the price.

This hotel is in the middle of Lisbon. You can reach anywhere easily and take subway, bus and train easily. However, staffs seem like very busy. You could be able to wait for long time to meet them.

Central, friendly staff. Breakfast adequate, if not spectacular. Really nice rooftop bar. Main restaurant has good food and is (surprisingly) quite fairly priced.

Hotel Mundial was ok to stay. Service was excellent but as a 4-star hotel I would have expected bit nicer rooms. The blankets were a bit worn out, in my opinion for example. At the breakfast there was a good variety.

This hotel is very convenient for central Lisbon and easy to reach via the Aerobus link from the airport. Room was spacious with a well equipped and brightly lit bathroom (although the hot water supply to the hand basin was erratic). Breakfast was excellent, including juices, fruit, eggs, cheese, meat and several varieties of bread. The 8th floor restaurant has a spectacular view of Lisbon. Reception staff were friendly and helpful and all spoke English. Several rooms were being re-carpeted during our stay but there was little disruption from noise from this work. Would stay there again.

All my friends love to stayed at this hotel.. I was beutiful place - surround the hotel so many stores - the prize is incredible .....we all loved it.

I would definitely not rate this hotel with 4 stars. The entire floor we stayed on smelled like super glue, the service at reception was definitely not 4 star quality, we asked for suggestions what to see and where to go and all they did was give us a map and run off to the next customer. The location wasn't as close to the city center as we thought from what we read on the site and realized only on the last day that we missed the nicest parts of Lisbon.....

This hotel was pretty standard. Slightly dated rooms with uncomfortable beds, but not bad. The hotel staff have the typically European attitude that they are doing you a favour by allowing you the priviledge of staying there, but I've encourntered that across Europe so it was not really a surprise. The food in the resturant was good. The location is good. It's very near the main tourist area. I don't however really recommend going to Lisbon. It's quite a dirty, run down city. Go to Porto instead. It's beautiful!!

this hotel is very convient to most of the sights and the tourist buses are located just around the corner.The tourist transport (yellow ) ticket can be used on all the different types of transport and also can be used to get in to some of the attractions.

This hotel is very large, very centrally located, and is a great stay if that is what you are looking for. The room was spacious, comfortable (although my husband thought the mattress was too hard, I thought it was fine!), and clean. The hotel staff were friendly, helpful, and spoke English. We did not eat dinner here but noted it had a top floor restaurant with beautiful views of Lisbon as well as bars and areas to relax. Breakfast is a large buffet and nothing spectacular but given the large number of tour groups to feed, this is to be expected. The hotel is super convenient to all of Lisbon's different 'areas' (like the Baixa, Bairro Alto, and Alfama) which you can walk to or get a very inexpensive taxi from the line always waiting out front. Overall we enjoyed staying here and would recommend it to others.

Great location, close to center and all attractions, close to metro station and train station. Rooms are typical of a 3-3.5 star hotel, so is the service: basic, plain, nothing outstanding. Great views from the rooftop bar and restaurant, but prices are very high and service/food mediocre. Overall not a bad experience, but NOT a 4 star hotel and quite expensive for the facilities/service it offers.

Ideally located within walking distance of central attractions and train station. Would recommend to others

The Mundial Hotel is in a great location that is central to all the major sight of Lisbon and walking distance to many great bars and restaurants. The staff are always happy and willing to help you with any questions and need you may have during your stay. I would defiantly stay there again when in Lisbon and would recommend anyone that is visiting Lisbon to stay there.

1. Curtains look very wornout and therfor make a very bad impression when entreting the room. Also are difficult to open. 2. Clothing closet's doors are very difficult to move this makes the use of it very unfriendly. 3. Breakfast is very divrse and includes a generouse spread 4. information desk was curtiouse and very helpful

This Hotel ticks all the boxes, walking distance to bus tours and undergroung train. A lot of the attractions was walking distances, great restaurants close by shopping. Overall very clean, helpful staff and very friendly. Definitely would stay here again. Good value.

We were shocked to find the hotel so close to everything we wanted to see in Lisbon. It was also very easy to find, since it's one of the tallest buildings. Breakfast wasn't bad, but we were only able to eat there one of the days since we had to be at the airport by seven am. I would recommend starting breakfast at 0600 during the week instead of 0700. Overall a good stay, would definitely stay again.

Close to the action on Rossio square and the other local squares. Lots of nearby shops and restaurants. Tram 28 is in front and the tram 15 to Belem is in the next square. Tram 28 is more historic and 15 is a great coastal tram. Several other trams are there as well. Short walk to the waterfront or the Hard Rock Cafe. IN the next square is the "Mercado da Figueira" which is a fantastic market for beer, soda, water, breads, fruits, meats and staples, including toiletries. They are very very cheap. Beer are .48E. The hotel itself is nice, the breakfast is good. The rooms are dated but adaquate, a bit small, no clock. The hotel sits on a square more for locals, not so much for tourists. Come out of the hotel and go left to get to the other squares. The metro is very close and the buses. The metro is very easy to use to visit other areas. Get an all day pass from the metro station for trams and buses. Visit Salmadi surf shop upstairs for cheap eats and for free wifi on Rossi square. 4 star hotel with 2.5 star rooms. Location sells it.

Large busy hotel in good central location. Room was clean and comfortable but a bit noisy as the double glazing didn't do a great job of blocking out street noise. Staff allowed us to extend our check-out time by 1 hour for no charge which helped make our last day more enjoyable. Hotel also gave us a free drinks voucher for the restaurant - which we used.

This hotel is located in the middle of Lisbon with easy access to buses and trams. It is walking distance from most atractions and close to the airport., good aircondtion, great breakfast & free parking. Beaware they speak lmited English, they do not provide an Iron and tea & coffee in the room they charge for a safe and the internet.

Thia hotel misrepresented itself. It should barely be a 3 star hotel if that much. We paid for 3 people and The third person that is an aduld got a child's bed.Also the mattreasses were thin and very uncomfortalbe. Would not stay there again. It basically is a tourist trap with tour busses using it.

Great location for the centre of Lisbon. A good price - top floor room with good views out to sea - comfortable but quite small although a large bathroom. Limited English TV channels - don't know whether there was any internet as did not look for it - was not obviously available. Free parking but you need a small car to get into it as it is very narrow. Decent breakfast at sensible times. Did not use the bar or restaurant but prices seemed fair.

The hotel is located right in the centre of Lisbon and is convenient for exploring on foot. Our deal was very good value for money with room, breakfast and parking included. Breakfast was quite adequate but not thing special.

We had a great stay in the Mundial and great food in the top floor restaurant. Breakfast was excellent.

The mattress in the room was so uncomfortable. My girlfriend and I wanted to check out the minute we laid down on the two different beds. However, the convenience of the location, the staff and the restaurants,both first floor and roof top were the best. We just loved the area. The room was kept clean and the breakfast that came with the package were the best. I did look at other hotels in the area but this area was situated in an excellent location, and the amenities were excellent. The price was very good. Originally, my friend and I were supposed to go with three other people as, I am part of a large group of people, teachers. I am glad I got to see the area before I go back again. I did go with the idea that I would be coming back. I will visit the city with family members in the future. I may come back to this hotel. I will investigate the area further. Thanks,,,,,, E. G.

Ideally located for the airport - 15-20 minutes - and the tram, bus and metro network. Plenty of restaurants in the area and very close to main shops. Rooms on the 'inside' of the hotel don't have the views of those shown in the hotel's picture gallery, but this probably made it quieter! The air con was quite noisy, but no more than most. The room was in a good state of repair, and very clean. The buffet-style breakfast was kept well supplied and there was a good choice of bread and fruit on offer, as well as the usual yoghurt cheese / cold meat and bacon / sausage / scrambled eggs. The top floor sun terrace was out of bounds whilst we were there. Some quite extensive work was being carried out (presumably in time for the high season?), which we speculated might be to provide a swimming pool (there isn't one at present). Sunlovers were still able to catch some rays on the sun terrace on the first floor. The staff were polite and helpful, particularly on the day one of us was ill. Didn't really want more than bread, water and tea, but the restaurant staff insisted that we take a tray up to our room. Most of the staff had really good English and could offer help when called upon. All in all, I would highly recommend the Hotel Mundial as a place to stay if you're visiting Lisbon for the first time.

The pros: Very close to public transportation, and centrally located to tourist sites. Free parking. Decent breakfast included. Staff was nice and helpful. Good for English speaking tourists. Reasonable price, for downtown Lisbon. The (sort of) cons: Our first room, the water temp in the shower was not consistent, but in our second room it was just fine. Beds are very firm, but we didn't find them uncomfortably so. Verify satisfied with this choice of hotel.

Hotel room was fairly basic, but very clean with a small balcony. Staff was exceptionally helpful. Best thing about the hotel was its location. Tram station right outside; metro station around thecorner; the most popular pedestrian streets only a short block away. I would definitly stay there again.

Location is nice but it's really shady at night. Also, breakfast is only ok... Service at breakfast is only ok.

Mundial Hotel. The reviews were accurate and the hotel is in the central part of the city. Right on one of the mail squares. We had a car, and parked it in the garage for 2 days while we wandered the city. Rooms were good and the breakfast buffet had a broad choice of items. If you are in Lisbon, this is a good hotel in a great location for seeing the city, either by foot or tram.

The location is perfect and the value for money staying there is great. Resturant on the top floor is amazing, excellent food and service. But the staff at the reception is rude, non helpful and do not guide you well. They puch you for expensive taxi's (maybe they get comission) and are not courtsious.

Did a lot of research to find a great hotel in the thick of things - wanted to park my car safely and leave it parked to explore the city for 2 days with easy access to things on foot and via public transport. Mundial is so close to the tram stop and within walking distance of all the major sites I wanted to visit. I am so pleased with my choice - the staff was so eager to please and to assist with recommendations for tours (my visiting friend took a trip to Fatima), restaurants to celebrate my birthday (Sacramento was fantastic!), and other questions we had. Parking was simple and included in my room rate, breakfast was really nice with fruit, veggies, variety of cereals, breads, meats, cheeses, and several drinks including a coffee center that made frothed milk, espresso, cappuccino, cafe con leche etc... Very nice experience all around.
