The room was fine if you're only using it as a base. It was clean and modern. The TV was small, room had no view out the window. Overnight parking is pretty cheap. Half hour free wi-fi per day in the lobby. This is not a high rise hotel. Access out of elevator onto Lambton Quay is handy.

My stay was relaxed, comfortable and the hotel was quiet. To be recommended as close to everything in the city.

Fabulous place to stay for Mum, Dad and 2 young adults. We had a 2 bedroom apartment which was very spacious and it's location on Lambton Quay was incredibly convenient (especially for the Boxing Day Sales).

Hotel common areas are a little run down and out-of-date. Our room was a suite and extremely well set out and comfortable. It was not air-conditioned (there were portable units in the cupboards) but not sure if it gets hot enough to be an issue. Hotel is in a good location for access to al the attractions. Breakfast was ordinary! Would rather go out to the excellent local cafes than add on the breakfast cost.

We booked a Queen room but were upgraded to a suite which was very spacious and more than sufficient for our needs. The suite was clean and tastefully decorated though in a few places it was obvious that it hadn't been refurbished for a few years and could use a bit of "freshening up" but this is a minor gripe and we would happily stay there again. It had a full kitchen as wall as a washing machine and drier in the main bathroom (there were two ensuites). It was very comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly and the location is great with a supermarket 5 mins walk down the road and plenty of shops and cafes nearby, as well as the waterfront. A shame about the cost of in room Internet but that's par for the course in NZ hotels, I'm afraid.

Wonderful location-close to everything. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite from a 1 bedroom. There was no view at all but a great and comfortable suite. Only complaints was bed was to soft and the shower glass door was strange. Didn't open well and doesn't stop water from going on bathroom floor. Hotel staff was very pleasant and friendly and always willing to help. Suite had a full kitchen so no problem to whip up a meal. We enjoyed our stay there and would stay there again.

We loved the hotel, once we were able to find it. The address is Lambton Quay, but car access is on Gilmer Terrace, so we drove around in circles on Wellington's one-way streets for 40 minutes before we figured it out. The hotel is terrific, if a bit pricey, but the location is not the best for dining, etc., though it is close to the university and the waterfront.

great place to stay right in the heart of Wellington. Good variety of rooms from studios to 2 bedroom apartments make this ideal for families. Beware if you have a car though. The room rate does not include the $15 per day for parking.

CityLife hotel is well located near the cable car and a short walk to the railway station. Cuba Street and Courtney Place aren't that far away either. It's a very nice hotel, clean, and check-in was smooth. The suite, a studio, was quite large and had a kitchen, which made dinner easy. Laundry facilities for studios are not in the studio suites though, unfortunately. My only complaint is that the walls are very thin - or perhaps the insulation in the walls was just inadequate near my location adjacent to the elevators. It was quite noisy and I'm a heavy sleeper. But it's a good place to stay - I would just request a room away from the elevators.

Great hotel in a great location, huge rooms, only booked a hotel room but were given a 2 bedroom apartment. A bit shabby in places, chipped benches, furniture etc but overall very comfortable and great service.

I was very impressed with the level of service and professionalism at Recption. The entrance was clean and tidy and to a high standard. If you are after a high standard at a good rate then look no further.

Hotellet er perfekt til en familie der vil bo godt midt i Wellington. Hotellet ligger i gå afstand til alle seværdigheder og få meter fra The Cable Car. Der er masse af restauranter i nabolaget og et rigtig godt bud er Trade Kitchen ved havnen nær The Beehive.

It was a bit more expensive than the middle range, but it was worth because it was very central, had even free parking, nice staff and great rum! I was upgraded to a 2 bedroom apartment with living room and dining room combined. Everything was new and modern. The only problem was that internet connection was really expensive! There was free access in the lobby, but who wants to work from the lobby of a hotel?
