Very small and charming hotel. Our room was right off the street, so it was a little loud, but we didn't mind. The colors of the room were beautiful, but it was very tight for a king, bathroom is extremely small, no bath just stand up shower. Perfect location, and complimentary breakfast that comes with resort fee is excellent!!

The room was so small, and we could barely move around due to large luggage.

I absolutely love the architecture of this hotel. It is a beautiful 192? Mediterranean building, complete with a small courtyard and a great rooftop bar/cafe. Their restaurant was closed for lunch so I did not get to try it. I stayed in the queen/no view room, and it was a bit small, but really quaint. The sink was located in the room instead of the bathroom. The front desk staff was friendly, and accommodating. The location was good, but there is a drug & alcohol rehab facility across the street, which had some loiterers hanging around. There is no pool, but you are just a flight of stairs away from the beach. The parking for the hotel is across the street. The hotel is close to shops and cute cafes. My only complaint is that they were doing maintenance work during breakfast time (construction and pressure cleaning on the rooftop cafe), so not only could we not enjoy the beautiful view from the roof during our complimentary breakfast (which had a nice selection of foods), but we could not even sit out in the adorable downstairs courtyard because of the over-spray from above. Seems like they should wait until after checkout time, or at least until after breakfast is over to do that kind of work. There was also a brief moment where the hot water ran out during a shower, but they were nice enough to offer us a little discount for our inconveniences. I don't know if I would stay there again.

Pros: Friendly staff, beach view from roof, chairs/umbrellas for beach, less than a block from the beach, excellent "free" breakfast (scrambled eggs with veggies, crispy bacon, french toast, etc), fantastic shower (king handicap room - dual head shower), spanish style minimalist room, hd tv, and inexpensive recreation fee (e.g., breakfast, parking, wifi, beach equipment). Cons: Parking lot is very small and not connected to hotel (1/2 block away), rooftop bar is getting renovated so very few tables, section of beach is quite small, and lights in room flicker like candles (very minor - only annoying if reading)

We had two rooms. Our daughter stayed in one and for some reason housekeeping came at night once and never again. We even asked for housekeeping. From Tuesday until Friday she had the room cleaned once. That is unacceptable. The girl on Wednesday and Thursday in the breakfast room was surly. She never spoke. She wore a hoodie over her head and never looked up. She let us clean and wipe the dirty tables so we could sit down while she stood there made didn't offer anything. The girl on Friday morning was wonderful. She offered options to cream, she kept the room clean, oh,and she said good morning!!!!

The hotel is cute, trendy, and very friendly. However, we had just come from a stay at a villa in Mexico, so the room seemed especially small. There was no where to put all our bags. To check in, we had to walk through a group of smokers outside the front door. And our room was also right over the bar, so we had loud music until late. But the staff was super nice and understanding.

Enjoyed our stay - there was live music early but it finished up too early..

Excellent

Love the location, the roof top bar, the restaurant, however even though we stayed at the hotel, we could not get a reservation in. We had to taxi downtown which defeated the purpose of staying there. Next time I will make reservations for dinner along with room. We certainly don't stay there for the rooms, and the late night partyer's tend to wake you up once in a while. My wife and I just love to get away there and relax, so we take the good with the bad. Front desk very helpful getting us in a reservation downtown and called a taxi for us as well. Overall a 4, with the old beds keeping it from being a 5. The other stuff you just deal with as part of the deal. Will definitely be staying again and again. Get some new mattresses!!

We loved our room! We saw dolphins from our window, very comfy bed, loved the atmosphere. We would definetly go again!

It was cute, close to the beach and breakfast was pretty good. The downstairs music was too loud and we could hear it easily until they quit at about 11:00 pm.

Service was very good. The rooftop is great. We had a very nice stay.

Wow, nothing like the description read on hotels.com. Very late check-in (send you up to the rooftop bar to spend money) and when we finally got our room, we go down stairs to last room before the alley way. Clanking of trash and bottles til late night and early morning. Also hear every flush and shower your upstairs neighbor takes. Breakfast is serves in a nearby converted room and GROSS. Rooms are beyond tiny. My fiance stubbed his toe 3 times try to get by the bed. Dirty hand towels with ink marks, phone didnt have dial tone in room. When I went to the lobby to complain that night around 10, I could barely hear myself talk due to the loud obnoxious kareoke in the lobby. Staff couldnt care less. They said this is a "historic hotel" and wanted to keep elements original. Thank you Hotels.com for crediting back my stay however I lost a night of sleep and couldnt wait to check out. PS. Parking lot is a block away and very tight spots. FAIL

I was so disappointed in the partial ocean view room. Small sliver of blue ocean from tiny window overlooking an alley. The room was clean but the size of a jail cell. Bathroom was so tiny I didn't even bother to take a shower and left quickly the next morning. Room was on second floor down the hall from the bar....loud and crazy till 2. While the people were nice, parking was horrid. Not enough spaces in the lot and I was charged a $12 resort fee for no parking, Internet that didnt work, and a 11am check out time. Would have rather camped on the beach.

we enjoyed our stay very much, excellent service, need upgrade in hallways and reception. the terrace has a wonderful view, te rest. is very good and has excellent prices in fact below average highly recommended.

THE HOTEL WAS OK - OLD WHICH WE EXPECTED BUT QUALITY JUST SO SO. THE INTERNET MAKES THE HOTEL APPEAR TO BE ON THE BEACH WHICH IT IS NOT. BEACH IS EASILY ACCESSIBLE HOWEVER. WE ARE NOT YOUNG ADULTS ANYMORE SO WE WERE SOMEWHAT SHOCKED TO FIND THAT THE HOTEL CATERS TO A GENERATION OR TWO BEHIND US. THERE WAS A LOUD BAND DOWNSTAIRS EACH NIGHT WE WERE THERE WHICH DID NOT MAKE THE LOBBY BAR INVITING TO US. IT SHOULD BE NOTED IN THE ADVERTISING MATERIAL THAT IF YOUR A SENIOR OR HEADING INTO YOUR SENIOR YEARS THIS MAY NOT BE THE VENUE.

The hotel is very well decorated and adorable. It's a little loud because the restaurants and rooftop lounge seem to be very popular. But the staff is wonderful and they allow pets. The location is beautiful. I will definitely stay here again.

This hotel has so much character! The restaurant K'ya is amazing. Food was delicious. Our waiter, Laurence, was incredible. The rooftop lounge has one of the best views in California and the staff was great. We stayed in the Billabong surf suite, room 206, which was really cool for my surfer hubby. The free breakfast buffet is just right and you can take your food up to the rooftop. Really enjoyed our stay.

Decided at the last minute to stay in Laguna Beach Christmas Day. What a gem! Great location.incredible staff. Room was small but cozy. What more do you need besides bed and bath? Parking and WiFi free. Included delicious breakfast buffet and great coffe! I highly recommend and we definitely return.

A little hard to be there on a weekend, as there was music in the lobby until the late hours, and if your room is above the lobby like mine was, and next to the street, it was very loud. I was in 321 to start. Very very small, partial ocean view room. Heater/Air did not work, not enough lighting, and very loud from street noise (party van with loud music playing until 2am outside my window, and party going on downstairs in the lobby, directly under my room). Not enough light in the room to read. I called 3 times to ask for an additional desk lamp and it never came. Light in bathroom was flickering on and off. The following day I asked to have my room changed, and I was placed in 204 or 205, which had much better lighting and more roomy. Both rooms were partial Ocean Views. Though a little loud from the evening entertainment in lobby, and early morning trash truck in the alley, it was manageable. I do appreciate their willingness to accomodate my room change request. The staff were very kind and helpful, and the location and free parking is the best. I was hoping to hear the ocean at night wehen I splept, but I think you need to go to Surf and Sand to have that luxury right on the beach :-) I would stay here again, but would be careful about choosing your room.

I will definitely return to this hotel! I love the history and chrarm of smaller hotels. It was decorated beautifully both inside and out, and the extra ammenities, such as free parking and free hot breakfast, were a treat that seems like a lost past time. I very much appreciated it and enjoyed my stay.

The previous reviews that I went by were mostly correct, The rooms are small but new and we got by, the hotel is an old building with so much charm and the staff was very nice to us. the beds are comfy, the breakfast was very good, only they open the door to the outside and everything is on the cold side. too bad, cause the place is so quaint and the food was delish. we were there in November and it was chilly in the am. we ate at the Kya on site and it is good, they specialize in small plates. the rooftop bar is nice, but crowded, and you can sit on the beach to watch the sun set with your own drinks. We didn't as we were at dinner and forgot, but it was my thought. I would totally stay there again, as there is many places close enough to walk and a short drive to many more beautiful area overall.

Amazing little hotel. Full of charm and personality. Well worth the price, especially in Laguna. Rooftop bar is a huge added bonus- breakfast is one of the best hotel breakfasts I have ever had. Only complaint is hallway noise- can hear other doors opening and shutting pretty loudly

Great hotel in downtown Laguna Beach - loved the rooftop bar. Food was good, room was small but clean. Nice location. Overall we would come back here 100 percent again!

Nice little place to stay with a great bar on the roof. Somewhat like an Inn with small rooms, but very elegant and furnished with beautiful stuff.

Casa del Camino was perfect for my birthday weekend! What stood out was the friendliness of the staff, the location, and the excellent food:) The included breakfast is terrific and nothing beats the rooftop bar. The ONLY thing that could have made it a smidge better was a little more space in the bathroom to keep our stuff (maybe a cabinet or a little shelf?).

But an interesting hotel with character. Very friendly staff, wonderful rooftop bar with an ocean view, room was done in an old Spanish hacienda motif. Great place for a couple to take in Laguna Beach. Couldn't get the resort hotel where my conference was, found this one on Hotels.com. Does not have the business amenities that a conference hotel does, but it more than made up for it in other ways.

the hotel being right next to Laguna Beach is a big plus, the waves right outside my hotel room I love. My room is a bit small but with very good interior decor so I enjoyed it very much with breakfast included. Hotel service is excellent.

Found this hotel after checking into an inferior hotel down the street (See my review for the "Art Hotel"). Left those keys on the very old dresser, and found La Casa del Camino. Great place, location, staff, ROOF TOP BAR, bed, decor, etc. You get the point. My ONLY issue, was the wedding scheduled for that night, that we were not told about upon check-in. Our room, 319, was directly over the dance floor, which happened to be the converted lobby. The least they could've done was invited us. We were there anyway. To their credit, the DJ was pretty good, and the music was common wedding fare. But REALLY loud til about 11 pm. Loooking forward to to going back...on a "non-event" weekend.

We needed a night away from the kids and decided to go to a local hotel for one night. This hotel was perfect for what we were looking for. Wonderful location, awesome view from the rooftop bar (a must see), and a delicious hot breakfast in the morning. The staff was very friendly and helpful too. Our room left a little to be desired. I knew that we were not getting an ocean view but our room was a little bit like a dungeon. Even with that being said, I would stay there again.

Front desk staff was friendly. Bed was very comfy. View from the roof at sunset with a cocktail and appetizers was amazing. Great value at this place. And they provide parking which is helpful in this downtown area

The Staff were very helpful and accommodating; the food and drinks were very good; the roof top cafe has the best ocean view; the lobby bar is often packed; half a block away is a great sandy beach and great waves; downtown is a short walk away; and many nice shops are nearby. Although the rooms were always clean, they were very small. The morning breakfast had a nice small outdoor courtyard.

I followed the reviews that I read and were positive about the hotel. What a big mistake !!!!! It seems that the relatives of the owners wrote them. I thought that because of the price I was paying it was going to be nice. I had a huge disappointment when I arrived. The lobby wasn't nice... and the bedroon we were assigned was horrible. I felt cheated. And worst of all it was super noisy. We couldn't sleep at all.

Main floor and breakfast are fine. Rooms are quite miserable. Poor lighting, old bed and bedding, no air conditioning, except a loud floor unit with huge vent hose taking up tiny room's space, noisy street, outdated in every way, dirty windows. Most uncomfortable, like a low grade motel. Lobby des not reflect rooms upstairs. Noisy live music heard through thin walls. Location near beach was ideal. Parking for smaller cars only, as available, and not guaranteed. Quite a long walk from heart of the action. So disappointing. Staff was very professional, but hotel is just on a different standard than most would be accustomed to.

This was a perfect location on the beach and a short walk to downtown Laguna Beach. The casita was spacious and could have slept 6 comfortably...possibly even 8 if you had a blow-up mattress for the loft space. One downfall is the Rooftop bar closed early on Monday (Labor Day) at 8:45pm. So that was unfortunate. We ended up having breakfast there instead...WORST SERVICE EVER! Be forewarned! Otherwise it was a great stay for a great price!

La Casa del Camino is a charming, "old California" hotel. Our room was not only comfortable but decorated very stylishly. It had everything one could want or need in a hotel room. A free breakfast buffet also made the stay a nice one. The rooftop bar is a highlight, one that apparently even the natives appreciate.

Hmm, second stay and again the room was dirty and uncomfortable. The rooms need upgrading. The property is beautiful and charming, location is amazing... but that's about all this hotel has to offer. The older rooms are just terrible. My soap had a hairball on it (gross) and the room was not cleaned properly. The bedding is not nice, the sheets are hard and the comforter was so scary I didn't even want to touch it. Fairly disappointing, couldn't wait to get out of the room. On the plus, the rest of the property is adorable. Breakfast was great and lots of little touches around to make you want to stay a while. Good for visiting, bad for staying.
