Fantastic. Great location, right in downtown. Great hotel, nice people, amazing service. Loved it, definitely go back. Breakfast included :)

This hotel had great service with very pleasant and helpful staff. The only issue I had was both the bed in my and my friend's room were sloped and not the most comfortable. Everything else was great including the breakfast.

This hotel is very cute. Our room was on the smaller side, but it did the job. The bed was really comfortable and the shower was nice. You had to wait for the water to get hot, but it's was good. The staff is also very nice. They spoke English and helped us navigate around town. there is a beer/wine store 1 block away just in case you forgot any toiletries or you need some snacks and drinks for your room. The hotel is walking distance to Crescent Street and downtown. We also walked to old montreal which is about 30-40 minutes. It's a nice walk. You can pass through China town on the way there. We would stay here again!

A slight problem with our first room had ours and our friends rooms upgraded with a smile. The kingsize bay window view of Sherebrooke St. and the fireplace were cozy. We loved tea time... a nice touch for tourists inbetween afternoon sights and the later dinners we walked to on Cresent St. Please upgrade cookies though. The tea deserves better- like shortbread or chocolate digestives. A beautiful and unique historic hotel-

We spent three nights at this hotel and found the staff very pleasant. Front desk even suggested where we could park the car overnight if we weren't using their lot.($15 three block west). The morning breakfast was simple but had something for everyone. On the down side the room could have used some maintenance. But it was nothing that greatly influenced our stay.

The location was great everything was in walking distance. The rooms are quite small and are very warm. We had to keep our window open most nights as there was no fan. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

I stayed in Château Versailles Hotel for two weeks and I had a great stay! I felt really comfortable and welcome. People is very nice and they are always willing to help you. Breakfast is very good too; rooms are well equiped and very comfortable. The only problem is that at night there is noise coming from the street (cars and buses passing by), but maybe in other rooms is not like that. Anyway, I absolutely recommend this charming and well located hotel.

This hotel is not for the person seeking every modern feature, but it was quaintly charming and in a good location. Close to the metro and plenty of things within walking distance too.

Although our room was very quiet; I did hear others complaining about noisy rooms. The air conditioning in our room was not functioning and when we asked about it they said that if it isn't working now it won't be. They offered us a fan in lieu. They offered to switch our rooms but because of the noise concerns we decided to stay put.

We found the hotel to be clean and the staff amazingly cordial and very accommodating. The location was central to many tourist sites and within easy reach, whether by car or walking. We would highly recommend it and we would gladly go back on our next visit to Montreal. Joseph and Vicky

Cleanliness was ok. Tissues, bottle caps under bed when I went to pick up a pen. Exercise room very minimal - old treadmill so noisy couldn't hear tv. No elevators. But friendly staff, breakfast buffet available and great location.

We were 1st taken back by the condition of the Hotel and the room for being rated a 4.2 star hotel. We were SHOCKED it was rated that high. The rooms were OLD AND OUTDATED the TV DIDN't work and they never came and fixed it for the 3 days we were there. Then we orderded room service the morning we were leaving and they forgot the cream and sugar my girlfriend callled them and they told her TO COME DOWN STAIRS AND GET FOR HERSELF IN THE DINNING ROOM I was APPALLED to say the least. I waited for the manager to come in and we finally spoke( he was very apoligitic and asked me what he could do for me and I said I feel for the TV not working and the ATTITUDE of his staff warranted a free nite and his responce was the next time you come to Montreal we will get a free upgrade. BBut do you think that for 1 minute when we go back to Montreal we would even consider staying there NO WAY!!!!!!!!!. I would NOT RECCOMEND this hotel to anyone for a few and I mean a few you could stay at the Sofitel, the Hilton , The LOwes etc and enjoy a much better experience then we did that's for sure

Chateau Versailles- Montreal The staff were very nice and helpful. The beakfast was excellent. The location was easy access to buses; Metro and we walked to a lot of places from this location.

The hotel was nice and clean and close to shopping and food. Staff were very helpful and great because i did not know any french.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Chateau Versailles! The included (free!) breakfast every morning was EXCELLENT-- they have a nice breakfast room with comfortable chairs and lots of fruit, croissants, cheeses, deli meats, fritatas, hard-boiled eggs, cereals, yogurt, cottage cheese, juice and coffee, etc. The location is close to the action but still nice and quiet and only a block or two from a Metro station. We appreciated free wi-fi and the helpful staff. The turndown service was a great touch with a little note describing tomorrow's weather along with chocolates. The overall feel of the hotel is of a stately yet comfortable townhouse where you are a welcomed guest. The only complaint we could have is that the mattress was not the most luxurious we've slept on, but just ok. Overall, everything else made up for this shortcoming.

We spent a fabulous 3 nights at the Chateau Versaille, and I have but high praise for this very lovely hotel. It is a beautiful historical 4 floor building in the heart of the City of Montreal. We could have chosen a number of high rise hotel building and we would have missed out on this jewel. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms although a bit small are very nice and clean. A delicious continental breakfast is include in the price of the room and is served in a very nice and "romantic" setting. I strongly recommend the Chateau Versaille.

Great location, very pleasant staff, very helpful. I stayed on the 1st floor which was very damp, but the hotel did provide a portable heater (early June and cool in Montreal). Great breakfast (cold but lots of choices). I would recommend this hotel but perhaps not the first floor (although the room was very large).

Chateau Versailles offers a convenient location at great rates! We were able to walk almost everywhere, and were only two blocks from the nearest Metro station for those attractions slightly farther afield. The room was cozy yet spacious, the staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful, and the breakfast buffet (included!!) was fantastic in quality and variety. All in all, a very pleasurable stay while exploring a new city!

We had a lovely stay at Chateau-Versailles! Our room, although small, was very cleverly decorated and was very clean. Our bed had certainly seen better days, but it was worth it to be in such a great location. This hotel has many of the trappings of luxury as others more expensive, including turn-down service, bathrobes, fine toilettries. We are excited to come back another time!

The room I had at Chateau Versailles was very nice - the bed was comfortable, it was pleasantly decorated, etc. The only problem was that it was a bit small. I had to turn sideways to walk between the bed and the dresser/TV stand. Opening the dresser drawers fully was not possible as they would bump up against the bed. The bathroom was narrow enough that if I sneezed whilst sitting on the toilet there was a very real chance I'd hit my head on the wall in front of me. Otherwise it was fine. Like many Canadian cities, as soon as spring hits construction season starts. There is a large excavator half a block away from the hotel right now and it has one of those giant jackhammers on it to break up the road. It would start up around 5pm (as soon as most businesses in the area close) and go until around 9pm every day. This is not the hotel's fault, of course, but it did make relaxing in my room after finishing with my daily business kind of difficult. This construction is also going on all day on the weekend. Perhaps by the time I write this review it will be done but it looked like a pretty major project to fix the sewers under an intersection 1 block down from the hotel.

Great continental breakfast. Good location. Less than 10 minute walk to Crescent Street or Rue St. Catherine. We paid an extra $10/night to have a "deluxe" room and it turned out to be VERY small. Front desk clerk was very helpful with maps and directions to shopping and restaurants.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Chateau Versailles. It is located right down the street from the art museum and 2 blocks from the Metro. Our room was lovely, clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and we enjoyed a lovely continental breakfast. We would absolutely stay here again!

We could not have been more pleased with the Chateau Verseilles in Montreal! It is a charming hotel, not modern but very comfortable and clean. Great location near the metro, art museum, lots of restaurants etc. My one suggestion would be to request a room not facing the street. Even though it's not a very busy one I did get traffic noise all night and several passes by a very noisy street cleaning machine one of the three nights of our stay! The included breakfast was tasty and more than adequate and staff uniformly pleasant.

This was our first trip to Montreal. The hotel was very easy to get to with public transport. The hotel staff were very helpful, friendly, and polite. The breakfast, although different from what we are use to, was delicious and ample. Our room was charming. The artwork throughout the hotel was gorgeous. The location of the hotel was fantastic - close to everything including walking distance to the art gallery, nightlife in Cresent St, subways, and buses to Mont Royal. We would happily stay here again when visiting Montreal and recommend it to our friends. We got a great deal on hotels.com

3 night stay in a nice, colorful, and comfortable room in a boutique hotel. A room with a queen sized bed was perfect for 2 people. Hotel offers to wash the bedding every day. Buffet breakfast was included in a quaint little room near the main lobby and had a lot of variety(cereal, toast, cereals, coldcuts etc) - staff was great about clearing used plates/cutlery. Had a problem with a finicky toilet in the room and front desk had maintenance there within 10 minutes. The hotel is a little dated, more of a older/quiet crowd, but very unique and historic. Room service came to your room every day at around 5pm to take any orders, even if you said no they still gave you a handful of chocolates :) Bell-hop helped carry luggage up and down stairs, and to and from taxi. Accommodated us and our late flight time, allowing us to extend our check-out time, and to stow our luggage in another room, all free of charge. Loved the staff - friendly, helpful, and didn't mind speaking English! No problem with ordering Chinese food delivery to the room either! Great downtown location - 2 mins away from Guy/Concordia metro station/bus station, 5 mins walk to St.Catherines strip, 10 mins walk to Musee des beaux-arts.

the room needed upgrade with better mattress and linens. somewhat disappointed for a deluxe room. local calls are charged. breakfast is very good. staff are vey courteous.

Classy hotel in a good area. The metro is about 3 min walk. Very elegant and charming interior. Attentive staff. Breakfast is excellent - lots of options to choose from, all very nicely presented, classical music on the background. The room is adequate size, clean bathroom, comfortable bed. Excellent hotel for the money. If I ever go to Montreal again, this hotel is where I will stay!

Quiet was a big deal for me. I hate noisy hotels. This place was very quiet and tame. THe breakfast was ok. The pastries were great, so was the coffee, but the fritattas had no taste. Still, there is a nice selection of other breakfast items if the fritattas aren't to your liking. The staff was very nice and all speak excellent english. I would definately stay here again.

this is an older hotel and has it's charms. the buffet breakfast is very good, with options for all and it is enough to start your day and fill you up. there are stairs. it's a walk-up place as it's age might suggest and it's like 2 buildings joined and while there are no more than 4 floors, it can be tiring after a day of walking. as this hotel is very well placed in the city, you will do some walking because it won't be worth it to take out your car ;0) parking: be prepared, there is no evident place to park even to check in. to the left (facing the building) there is a small 3 wide driveway, that is where you can park to unload and check in then they will give you directions to their place to park (16/day) or valet park for you (26/day). i heard the valet lot is underground and they are very good about getting your car quickly for you. the rooms are nice and charming, in our room the drawers wouldn't work correctly but we were able to live without that, still surprising though. the turndown service is nice and they even tell you what the temperature will be like for the next day to help you prepare - a nice touch. in general, we enjoyed our stay. the bed was comfy, we heard no neighbours in adjoining rooms and while a bit old, the room felt clean and welcoming. we will stay there again.

We really enjoyed our stay at this charming hotel. Our room was exceptionally comfortable and quite spacious and the hotel was welcoming and warm. breakfast was a lovely experience, eaten in the parlour. We would definitely recommend this small hotel and will choose it again if we return to Montreal.

The hotel is located within walking distance of both the 747 Express shuttle bus from the Airport (Zone 2) and the Guy Concordia metro stop/Green Line. The hotel shows its age. The carpet is worn, but they do try to compensate by displaying a lot of artwork and keeping it fairly clean. The architecture of the building is charming, but keep in mind there's no elevator. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to older travelers or those traveling with young children for this very reason. The breakfast was kind of disgusting (the egg fritatta was cold and tasteless), but you can at least get a bowl of cereal to tide you over until lunch. Keeping this in mind, if I found a good deal for this hotel, I would probably stay due to its location.

I used to stay at this hotel several years ago and remember it being very high end. Unfortunately, the quality has slipped. The bed linens were old and overwashed/overused. The comforter clearly had not been cleaned a while. The room did not have a desck from which I could work. The staff moved me to a different room which was larger but the bed linens were in the same condition.

Adorable hotel, has everything you need. The room was small-ish but complete. Big windows, clean room, quality bath products, stocked mini-bar, pillowy comfy bed, perfect location. The breakfast buffet was yummy and filling, despite the lack of hot items (it offered delicious quiches, toast, deli meats, cheeses, boiled eggs, pastries, and beverages). Be wary of the stairs, as there is no elevator, but help was offered with no delay. The lady at the front desk was professional and efficient, while the fellow in the evening was cute and helpful. My overall impression of Chateau Versailles is that of a cozy antique-ish boutique hotel, with all your modern comforts.

Generally very pleasant and satisfactory. Rates might be 8-10% lower. Breakfast/brunch excellent. Room a little cluttered and cramped. Bed comfortable, staff pleasant and courteous.

This was my second stay at the Chateau Versailles. The staff is friendly, and the rooms were comfortable. It was easy to access my conference at Concordia University, area museums and shops and restaurants, and the Metro. The only thing about this hotel is its ambiguities: it was not clear whether we had booked 1 or 2 double beds until we checked in (we got 1 bed, so our toddler slept on the floor, which he had been doing at home anyway), we were not told at check-in how to utilize the daily breakfast that I thought was included in my reservation, and the housekeeping staff was inconsistent about taking and leaving towels--the last night, we had 1 bath towel for 3 guests. Those who use wheelchairs and strollers should also know that this hotel does not have elevators and that Montreal in general appears to be non-accessible.

Excellent breakfast (included) & huge room, this was comfortable and good value for the price. It is not a large hotel so you won't get views from the window but it is within walking distance of Mont Royal which offers spectacular views of downtown Montreal.

Bathroom was great; but this is a very old building. Air Conditioning did NOT work, we were very hot at night in May. Can't imagine what middle of summer would have been like. The carpets were stained and dirty, and the bed was god-awful hard. We had two flat feather pillows, but I called to have extra pillows brought in, and they were much better. There was good things, though. The breakfast was superb; excellent selection of juices, pastries, cheese and meats, and hard boiled eggs and quiches. Toast and coffee as well. There was also a free computer for hotel guests to use for internet. The staff were also very helpful in finding us good restaurants in the neighborhood. We'd stay again.

Charming small hotel that's more like a B & B. Historic building, excellent area (close to museums and public transit), pleasant breakfast included. Not for those who like room service, elevators, or well-equipped fitness facilities.

This property is a "boutique" hotel. as such, evidently, it doesn't have to provide amenities that larger hotels provide. Case in point...no elevator. there are many and steep steps to reach the lobby...otherwise the second floor. Then, you have to haul your bags up from there - for us, we were "lucky" enough to get the top floor - the 4th...Our room was small, but attractive. the bed was a double...not a queen or larger - so, we were rather "cozier" than planned! the view was of another rooftop, directly accessible from our room, with all the unattractive mechanical accoutrments that support a building below. in that the room was a bit warm, I turned the thermostat down to 65...and we went out. We came back 5 hours later to a room that had reached 85 degrees...their electrician/heating contractor had evidently switched the wiring...and "up" was really down, "down" was really up!! So, I turned the thermostat up to 85 and the heater turned off - but, now, it took hours and hours for the room to cool down (eventually, by morning, to a still hot 75 degrees!). Not a comfortable evening. I mentioned the problem to the desk hostess the next morning, noting how uncomfortable we were aned that we had had minimal sleep...she assured us that our input was appreciated and that they would have the thermostat looked at and fixed...and, "bon voyage!" no mention of "relief" for our unpleasant night. Can you guess? we won't be back! By the way, the breakfast spread was rather nice...and very civilized!

We had a wonderful stay at the Chateau Versailles. We were on the ground floor with an exit right to street level. This made coming and going with our two dogs very easy. The room was quiet, large, clean and comfortable. Breakfast each morning was adequate, served in a lovely, cozy room. Staff was friendly and helpful.
