The Sutton Place Hotel by the Magnificent Mile - شيكاغو

We stayed at this location many years ago when it was Le Meridian. It is very close to shopping, and some of the best restaurants are right outside your door!! Great savings on not having to take a taxi!! The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful, only complaint was that the temp control in the room was in what they called Winter Mode so when it was only 45 degrees we could not open a window and the heat was not needed so the room got a bit stuffy. Overall though we would reccomend highly.

I stayed at this hotel 20 years ago when it was called Le Meriden. The location is great, as well as the service, yet the rooms need a major overhaul. The bathroom has not been renovated since the early 1990's. The room was very dated and needs to be updated. No flatscreens here. The room was too warm and could not be adjusted. I was really disappoined for the price.

Wonderful people run this place. The location is wonderful, the rooms are comfortable, but the place feels about fifteen years older than it should be. Everything is clean and serviceable, just dated. If you can get a deal, go for it!

Sutton place was a really nice hotel. Without going into excruciating detail, they did a very good job, and paid attention to detail. The staff, from the valets, doormen, desk clerks, all of them were unfailingly courteous and pleasant. The room was very clean and comfortable. It was funny because both this room and our room in a different hotel the night before were older, as if they were last remodeled 20 something years ago, but the other room came off as old and shabby, but Sutton place's room just seemed nicely retro. Mainly because despite its age, the room was immaculately cleaned and maintained. One thing I have to mention. We didn't really plan for rain, but they had a very nice umbrella in the room closet available for us to use. Nice touch. My only possilbe complaint was that parking at the hotel was pretty expensive, although from what I saw, in line with the market. I get it, its downtown Chicago. Lastly, the location was super. The Gold Coast neighborhood is terrific, so many great restaurants withing a block or two of the hotel. A nice market, cafes, and totally walkable to the Mag Mile, the rest of the downtown, the Bean, everything. I would absolutely book at this hotel again if visiting Chicago.

Very nice rooms and what a great locations for restaurants, shopping and nightlife. Next time I visit Chicago will probably stay at the same place!

Being this was my first visit to Chicago and not familiar with the best location to choose a hotel, the Sutton Place could not have been situated in a more convient location. I absolutely loved the old charm and personable staff with their dedication to perfection. The check in was flawless and fast as was the check out with no waiting. The room was spotless and the service was great. The concierge was extremely helpful with directions and even with dinner reservations. My wife and I plan another trip to Chicago and will definitely be staying at the Sutton Place again.

Needs to be updated. Valet parking (tips) gets very expensive if you plan to use your vehicle.

a very nice and big bathroom, enough towels

Very nice boutique hotel in a great location. Friendly staff, comfortable rooms, always our first choice in Chicago.

This is a older hotel in a very good location (Goldrush) in the downtown North Chicago. Although the hotel is old which is fine, the cleaniness of the rooms was below average. The bathrooms in both rooms had visible stains and hair. The white linen bed sheets had mystery stains and the furniture in the rooms were old and rusty. You basically just pay for the location but there are many other hotels in Chicago that are newer and cleaner with the similar price range. I would not recommend this hotel. The only positive experience was the front desk graciously willing to change our rooms upon request. Unfortunatley the rooms was still dirty.

Great location , nice staff, near good restaurants and great neighborhood. My only complaint would be the quality of the sheets. Need to upgrade to higher quality threads.

The first night there had to be moved because shower would not drain. I was moved from the 15th floor to the 14th floor at 11:30 pm and they offered nothing for the inconviences. Not impressed - this hotel needs updating. Thank you for asking !

This is the place to stay. The hotel is great and it is in a prime location. No car needed. Everything us in walking distance. We had a great stay.

Perfectly located with shopping, dining, lake access for bike riding and sight seeing all within walking distance. Great views of the lake and surrounding neighborhood from our corner rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Definately will stay here again.

Firstly, the hotel attendants were beyond accommodating! They were extremely helpful and kind. The area immediately near the hotel lends itself to a great nightlife, with good food, drinks, and music. Also, the area is very nice in general - being in the middle of downtown Chicago, and a visitor, at no time do you feel threatened or in danger. And if you wish to visit other areas of the city you're no more than a 5-10 minute cab ride away. The price may be higher than other hotels in Chi-town, but well worth it in my opinion, and I would recommend the hotel to anybody else looking to visit the city.

The front desk upgraded us to a corner suite, which was beautiful and had fantastic views of the Gold Coast neighborhood. We were treated excellently throughout our stay.and would definitely stay here again. Thank you!

I'll keep this brief since I didn't barricade myself in the room. All the amenities were nice. The staff was polite, helpful and courteous. What's really great is location, location, location. With so much to see and do in Chicago, it's a good central area to venture from; however, given all the activity you may not want to.

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel a couple of times, and will again in the future. The location is terrific. Great restaurants and bars, close to Mich Ave for shopping, beach/lake close, and Red Line 5 minutes walk. The hotel is quality, but nothing overly fancy. Rooms are spacious and bed comfortable. Bathrooms clean. Its starting to look just a bit tired, however. There are locations equally as good that are newer, and I think its time the Sutton Place spruce things up a bit to keep up with competition. That said, this is a very fine hotel.

Only a block from the Magnificent Mile, this hotel provides excellent access to all the shops the Mile has to offer. An older hotel, but has been kept up to remain yet one of the nicer hotels available. Great views of Lake Michigan.

The location of this hotel is perfect...close to so many great shops and restaruants, was so pleased. The room was alot smaller than anticipated and was disappointed that a) there was no coffee maker in the room for the mornings and b) that we mentioned it was our anniversary and was not given anything for our stay.

Location of Sutton Place is by one of the most favorite corners in Chicago, gold coast at Rush and Bellevue. Gibson's Restaurant and Tavern on Rush and Whiskey Bar and Grill just to name a few for best eats. Shopping is also right there by Oak Street and Michigan Avenue. Every time we come into the city we stay here.

this was a great hotel in an outstanding location! my husband and I were able to walk to bars, restuarants, and shopping from the hotel. The service was excellent. The room was a nice size, we had the king bed which was super comfortable. It was a tad outdated as far as the decor in the room, but that was a minor issue that didn't really matter much to me. overall, very clean, friendly, and convenient hotel!

This was my first stay at the Sutton. I was extremely impress with the facilities. The staff was very cordial and helpful. The location and neighborhood is first class, rooms were very well maintained. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

There are no ice machines on the floor and no coffee maker in the room. Very inconvenient to call room service every time you want a bucket of ice. Also, I like to wake up and make coffee right away. I don't want to spend $10 for a pot of coffee from room service or go down to the lobby for the free coffee. Otherwise the location and cleanliness were great.

The Sutton Hotel is in an excellent location for night life! Great for people watching, food and entertainment. The hotel was in great shape and our room was very comfortable and clean. No negatives! As much as I love the location, be prepared to walk a few blocks for shopping on Michigan Avenue.

be aware that parking fee was a shock, plus we payed extra for EACH computer address, so that added a lot to the room rate.. the frig they advertised was a locked fridge full of their products, so we could not really use it for our restaurant leftovers. there was not enough outlets for our 2 computers and sleep apnea machine, thankfully we travel with extension cords and adapters. the tv was a disappointment, no flat screen, they shrugged their shoulders at the desk when we complained. maybe they have rooms for people who pay lower prices or get "deals" . on the other hand, the shower was great, you picked your temperature, the sheets were comfy. they were very helpful with directions and other questions. Yes, we would stay there again, but consider parking across the street for a much cheaper rate per night.

I only have one complaint and that was the hours of the concierge. They did not come to work until 10am. Well, we were already gone sightseeing by then, so had no assistance from them our entire stay. They also were off duty by 6, before we even got home from the days adventures! Room service was EXCELLENT as was the food. I would also have liked to have a coffee pot in my room. My husband said most people that stay there expect to be waited on. Guess that is why there was no coffee in the room. We had to order room service to get it or go downstairs in our pajamas! Room was starting to show it's age (we had an iron burn in our carpet), but the bed was very nice and the room was adequately sized.

Beautiful, contemporary hotel. Very clean, great location. Very friendly and attentive staff.

We stayed here for a wedding...came a few days early for the food as we never visited before. Staff was great, door men concierge were helpful and funny. Fantastic location close to the mag mile and lots of night life. Breakfast option across the street also convenient. Would have been 5 stars but the room was dusty in alot of areas and had to call after first night for room to be cleaned. Also was told we had to pay for ice after first bucket which was odd for being there 3 nights also had to pay for wifi. Many local areas offer free like coffee shope and local shopping centers All in all though we did love hotel and it was minor negatives overshadowed by many positives

Staff very courteous. Received a room upgrade w/o requesting same. Able to check-in at 9:00am - well in advance of authorized check-in time. Enjoyed breakfast - small restaurant/grill room - service was efficient - perhaps pricey but dining area was quiet and food excellent. No hassle checking-in or out. Lots of other restaurants in area. Subway/El only a few blocks away.

I loved our stay at the Sutton, there is only two things I wish the rooms had, one a refigerator that was not a mini bar and a coffee pot in the room. Other than that all of the staff was poliety and on top of things. I would definetly stay their again.

Thoroughly enjoyed the boutique nature of this hotel. The doormen were wonderful and everyone was very friendly. Great breakfast in their restaurant. Close to everything that you would need. Very quiet.

FABULOUS HOTEL, FABULOUS LOCATION, GREAT SERVICE, AND HORRIBLE BEDS! JUST PICTURE A CANOE--YOU KNOW THE BIG SUNKEN SPOT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE KING SIZE MATTRESS THAT YOU CONSTANTLY ROLL INTO ALL NIGHT? TOO BAD, BECAUSE THE HOTEL OTHERWISE IS JUST TERRIFIC!

I guess I didn't look fancy enough. When I pulled up in my small Honda, dressed in jeans there were 3 attendants chatting with each other. I was ignored even when taking my luggage out of my car until I directly noted to one of the men that I understood I could park my car there as a guest. Rooms are small-ish, but nice, particularly the corner ones with a lake view. Very convenient location.

The location drew us there several years ago and the other positive aspects, including the professional and friendly and service of personnel, keep us coming back. I love the hotel, its proximity to our daughter's location, and all elements of the surrounding neighborhood. It is a real winner for us and I hope it will continue to be moderately priced, making extended stays a reasonable option for personal stays.

we have stayed their a couple times each year and recently took friends. gary and louies are the first people you meet. there kindness and help set the tone for a perfect stay. the hotel is situated right next to great restraunts and shopping. if you have any needs or questions,gary and the whole staff are so helpful. the rooms are comfotable and nice.
