The apartment like rooms makes you feel at home more than being at a hotel. The property has been maintained however the small issues like the shower head in my room had no pressure at all. The bathroom counter was coming unattached from the wall. very small issues. over all this a very good choice. The customer service and housekeeping staff were outstanding, A happy staff is very hard to find in any hotel these days

Handicapped accommodations need a total makeover ... room was deplorable and should be condemned ... mold, mildew and rotting plaster are a health danger especially to someone with health problems, like breathing, lung or respiratory. The front desk staff was very nice when I requested a different room and I had no problem moving to another room (non-handicapped) which was 100% better than the handicapped room. I like the feel of this hotel and the nearby area and would probably stay here again but I will not reserve a handicapped room. I'd rather take my chances with a regular room.

This was once a very nice motel but is in need of refurbishing.

I was shocked at the condition of our room. The carpet was so stained/dirty I did not want to take my shoes off. The wallpaper was peeling off the wall in areas. Instead of soap in wrapped individual packets, there were soap dispensers in the shower/tub area and on the wall by the sink!! The TV remotes did not match the TV therefore did not work. There was duct tape on an old air conditioner (no longer in use I think). We would have left immediately if we had not been assured that due to a local convention, all the rooms had been taken in a 10 mile radius. For the rate charged for that room, we should have been paid to stay there.

We were extremely happy when from the time we checked in. The staff was prompt and very helpful and even gave us a choice of another room if we were unsatisfied with the one we were assigned to, but it was not necessary. We were very pleased with our room, clean and spacious and just as described in the Hotels.com search. I am disabled and actually in Birmingham, Al for three days of tests and procedures.I had some special requests because of my disability and they met every one. Free buffet breakfast was offered and it was very good with a large variety of options. Not just a muffin and coffee like most offer. Although we didn't use it, the pool was nice and the pool area was a nice place to relax in the evening. The location was right off the interstate with a large variety of stores and restraunts within a half mile from the hotel and easy to get to and from without getting lost. The A\C and all appliances worked well and met every need for our use. It was very quiet and easy to sleep without interuption. The beds were soooo comfortable and the matresses were not worn out. Closet space was suficiant but needed more hangers. Bathroom was roomy and shower had great pressure. Overall we were extremely satisfied and for what we paid for the room through Hotels.com,our expectations were not only met but far exceeded what we were prepared to accept. Thanks Rime Garden Inn and Suites and thanks Hotels.com. We look forward to many more enjoyable experiences like this in our travels. God Bless.

hotel open breakfast at 7:00 AM during the weekends.... looks like if someone wants to have breakfast earlier you are lost!

When ever i go somewhere i wont to feel as if im at home this place is all that. then its so clean and everybody is just like family!!!!

This was a nice facility at one time, but it has not been well maintained. If your stay is in the summer plan to get there early, turn on the A/C and leave for a couple of hours so the room can cool down. The sheets would not stay on the bed and the mattress was split. The shower curtain was frayed. The hair dryer was falling off the wall. The breakfast buffet was put out first thing in the morning and was not replenished or kept warm. These are just a few examples, there were more issues with the room. The 3 1/2 star rating is way too high. I would not give it over 1 1/2 stars. I would not stay there again.

This property has the feel of a condos converted into nightly rental/motel space. Lots of room -- living area, kitchen, and huge bedroom. My room was on the second level. I had to "feel" my way to the room because the stairway was poorly lit -- completely dark at one point. Breakfast was included in the price. However, when I went to the lobby at 6:45am, there was no sign that it would be ready. I asked the desk clerk about it. She said, "He's preparing it now. I'm sure it will be ready soon." It appeared that this was a regular occurance. I had an early appointment, so I left to find breakfast somewhere else.

Not at all what was described on-line. The hotel needs to be updated. The rooms and reception area needs to be totally updated. The carpets are stained and need to be removed , they are well beyond being steamed cleaned. We first entered room and noticed mouse droppings!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

Only Issue was AC did not function....Room was Nice, Clean and for the Rate very good....Breakfast Was Very Good as well....

The "rooms" are 1980's apartments - great bones, big rooms, nice layout. Except they haven't been updated, the carpet was filthy, and I had to help a spider down the bathtub drain. The breakfast was great - real food, real waiter, real silverware, but the lobby was dark and dingy as well.

This hotel is not really a hotel, but a low-income apartment complex. Our room was nothing like the photos shown. There are however a few decent rooms. After the tenant above us overflowed their toilet and flooded our room, we did get moved into a better room at 3 am. The maintenance man told us this happens a lot. Sewage was flooding into our room and on our stuff and they told us to wait while they figured out what was wrong. The management didn't seems to care and only offered us one free night after we had checked out and left messages for three days. Our room did not have working internet or a hairdryer and the management promised to fix this but didn't. I could go on and on, but DON'T STAY HERE!

everything else was fine. It is a beautiful place inside and out.

Hotel is older facility. We stayed two nights. Our room wasn't cleaned once. We didn't get the towels we requested from the front desk and didn't bother to request anything further. We had to stay here due to power outages at our home due to the storms that came through. I wouldn't have stayed if we had other alternatives available.

I would not recommend this hotel. The carpet has cigarette burns (non smoking room). There are dead bugs on the window sill and attached to the curtains. There is cracked floor tiles in the bathroom and caulking near tub is black (mold?). The fridge seemed to be leaking (water on kitchen floor). I did not get a hand towel. I requested extra bath towel which I did not get until after we left for the day. We were told that the neighborhood was not very good and not to go out walking around after dark. I was very disappointed by this hotel. I will never go back there.

Rime Garden Inn & Suites, appeared to me to be an apartment complex in which some rooms were rented out by the night. I say this because, children were getting off the school bus and entering rooms as we arrived. I made my way to the lobby and found the staff to be less than friendly. I finely got checked in and was given poor directions to the building in which my suite was in. I found the suite to be older but in pretty good condition. The room had a slight odor which I took care of with a can of air freshener. The suite had two televisions, one in the bed room and one in the sitting room, neither of which had working remote control. The internet connection was wired, which meant I had to sit at the desk to use my computer. With no working remote controls for the television I thought I would watch Netflix but the connection was too slow. The sheets were clean and smelled fresh. There were only enough towels for two people so my wife and I had to share while my daughter got her own set. On top of that there were signs asking us to let the towels dry and use them again if we were staying for more than one night. There was no complementary soap or shampoo. There was however a pump foam soap dispenser by the sink and one in the shower. One of my first acts was to USE the toilet and because the exhaust fan didn't work I was the also the first to take a shower. Three minutes in I ran out of hot water. We were plagued with hot water shortages the entire stay. The next morning we were awakened by screaming, laughing and playing of the children waiting on the school bus right outside our room. The suite cost about what you would expect to pay for a single room. I understand why now.

This hotel was very roomy and nice even though it is older and needs some upkeep (wall paper coming off, floors in disrepair). My main complaint was that it was very stripped down. No tissue in the bathroom holder, no bars of soap and the soap dispensor by the bathroom sink was empty. There was a coffee maker in the kitchen but no coffee packets. The complimentary breakfast didn't start until 6:30 am - not helpful when you need to leave at 6:00 to catch a flight.

For a quick night's sleep it will do but don't think about any type of extended stay. Not close to any restaurants, unless you consider McD's a restaurant. Hotel decor and facility lacks upkeep and maintenance. A little scary of a place for a Northern boy, but people are friendly.

Hotel was 10 minutes from airport yet shuttle took 40 minutes to get there. Hotel looked like a converted apartment complex. Driver unloaded our bags in lobby then had to reload to drive us to our bldg which was further away. Room was large but run down. NO soap in dispenser in tub, in bathroom or at sink. Bedspread smelled of urine. It was late so we stayed but cancelled our reservation for several nights later.

Me and my fiance just wanted to get away for awhile! Upon arriving to our room there were bags of trash from others who stayed in the hote in front of the stairs we had to walk up, which I thought was gross. The sheets were to small for the King size bed and the quilt had burnt marks in them, and the kitchen light turned on by themselves scared the death out of me.

We stayed only one night, probably less than 10 hours. The hotel was a bargain, considering we got a suite for about what we'd pay for a single room elsewhere. There was lots of space. The hotel is convenient to the interstate and airport. The room was clean. We needed a refrigerator with a freezing unit for medication, which was provided. The bed was comfortable. The only negative is that the suite was dated. Carpet was ragged in places. Edges of wood furniture were worn. Lighting was somewhat dim. The unit (hotel has several free-standing units) which held our suite was not well-marked.

I enjoyed our friends...I would not select this hotel at it's current condition.

For the money a nice place of you wantthe extra space

Make sure you have the hash browns for breakfast. The man seasons them perfectly.

The short stay apartment/suite was a great place to spend the night while we attended Barber Motorsports Park. It was close enough to be very convenient, and plenty comfortable enough. The security gated community atmosphere gave an added since of security, which is nice when parking motorcycles overnight.

I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Rime resembled more of a community than a hotel. The rooms are more like apartments with a living room and full kitchen. A TV in both the living room and the bedroom. The rooms could use a little facelift and new carpeting. Other than that, no complaints. Also, they have an airport shuttle which is extremely convenient.

I invested in two rooms, upon walking into my room the temp was over 110, Middle of summer and the air was totally off. Turned air and went out to see family. Retruned after three hours the temp was 84. Called the front desk (they were very nice) she has some up there soon. He was very nice Charged AC unit. he explained how the units were cooled with heat pumps and it would take a while. Called the front desk and asked for new room. She gave me a key to a new room, however it was 110 degreese. Moved back to my room where the air was now 82, It took tilll 5am to get to 78 in the room. I was NOT a comfortgable night. Also the room was kinda dirty a few bugs.......Breakefast in the morning was Top notch Great guy took care of us Eggs Gritts Gravy coffee juice. Saw another bug.

The room is large. Looks like they used to be apartments. The air conditioner doesn't work very well. The main unit is in the front room and the vent that blows into the bedroom doesn't let out much air so the room was stuffy.

Let me tell you, this would be a great inn if it was a single story. We arrived to a nice greeting in a fairly nice reception area. The property was gated, and it was soon obvious that it had previously been an apartment complex. It still is apartments in some of the locations. There are multiple buildings some of which are used for nightly guests, and others for long term residents. I'm not sure if the nightly guests stay in the same buildings as the long terms, but that didn't seem to matter. The buildings were all 3 story with the ground level being on floor 2. You walked down stairs to the first level, and up to the third. We were assigned a room on the second level, which started out fine, no stairs to climb or descend. The rooms are very spacious, a large living area with a kitchenette, large closets, a large seperate bedroom with a balcony, and bathroom. Relatively clean. We settled in for the night, and then were awakened to the sound of the fire alarm going off, again and again and again. 12 times total. The next morning they told us that some kids had pulled the alarm, and no one knew how to reset it. When the alarm was finally silenced for good, we once again settled in to get some sleep. My wife had to leave at 5AM, and I had a flight to catch later. We were both in need of some rest. We had been asleep for about an hour when the room above us had some people show up. The next 2 hours were awful. Just lightly walking across the floor sent the worst creaking sounds into our room. Very loud squeeks and creaking floor noises. Shoes being taken off and dropped on the floor sounded louder than if it had been right beside us. It sounded like they were quickly into bed, but they were constantly getting up and going to the bathroom, kitchen and living area. It was unbearable, and impossible to sleep. Then the lovin' started. The bed itself wasn't making noises, but the floor sounded like it would give way with each thrust. Once they finished, I guess they relaxe

Disappointing. Probably would not stay there again. For the money, it's not terrible but not great - it has probably seen better days. The location is good. The concept and the layout is nice - it seems like an apartment complex or condos that have been converted to motel suites. The room was overall clean but had a dingy feeling. The lighting was poor, the air conditioning worked ok but not great, the kitchen area was clean but very outdated and old appliances. The upholstery on the chairs was stained and looked like it should have been replaced several years ago. If they would update, I think it would be a nice place.

Our experience at this hotel was poor from start to finish. Upon entering our room we could smell the mildew ofthe carpet. The air conditioner was off so the room was hot and muggy. Also their were dirty towels in the bathroom floor. They had no ammenities(ie soap, shampoo, lotion ect) and we had to go to the front desk to get towels and washcloths which werent always available. We did not get housekeeping services until the 2nd day after we requested the room to be freshened up. was very unsatisfied with the hotel and service overall.

This place is not for everyone, that being said, I had a nice one bedroom apt/suite. For the money it was fine. Its like being an a apt complex. The staff was nice and helpful. if you are the least bit faint of heart this place is not for you. I travel weekly and have seen it all. The food for breakfast t was good and hot. The price was great for what i received.
