Carlton Capri Hotel - البندقية

The hotel was clean convenient to the train station and nothing else. Hotel staff not very friendly. Breakfast was terrible, not even the coffe was good! I wouldn't recommend it. It was way over priced!

I've traveled a lot and understand the difference between European standards versus American standards with respect to hotels. This hotel is definitely a three star (think Comfort Inn) but is clean, in a great location, provides a decent breakfast inclusive in the price, free WiFi in the lobby (if you're on floor one in works in your room too), the management staff is friendly and helpful, and the rooms were decently sized. Our only complaint was that the air conditioning barely cooled the room but in the hotel's defense it was 90 degrees and sunny so I'm sure the system was struggling. The hotel is in a great location right across the canal from the train station and walking distance to everything you'd ever need. It is also less than a 5 minute walk from where the ATVO busses drop you off in the city. If you've never traveled here this is important so that you don't have to carry your luggage a large distance up and down stairs, etc.

We chose the Carlton Capri for its proximity to the train station, as we wanted to make sure we could get back to our car in Mestre easily in order to make it to our appointment to see The Last Supper in time. While the hotel was a bit of a challenge to find (you have to go down an alley and around a corner to get to it), its location was very convenient and the rooms were clean and functional--just what we wanted. The Grand Carlton (its sister hotel) is nicer, but you'll definitely pay more for it.

This is an average hotel (rooms are small, rooms are not at all extravagant-looking), but rooms are quite clean (including the washroom). We stayed here for convenience to the bus station - for this, our stay was worth while.

Situated in a really uninspired area on Venice with no redeeming features. The hotel itself had nothing really wrong but just had nothing worthy of note really; instantly forgettable.

We had rooms 301 and 302. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The bathrooms were large, very clean and new. The breakfast was very good. The staff was always helpful and courteous. The location in the St. Croce district is very quiet and a 25 minute walk to the San Marco area. It is five minute walk to the Piazza Roma. It's about a block from the Grand Canal. I would recommend this hotel. Excellent value, a quiet location with really good restaurants nearby.

Very close to train station if you want to walk to your hotel after using the high speed rail to get into the city. Average hotel. Bed was ok. TV had a bunch of international channels. Windows were door sized and opened up nicely to show a classic view of other buildings. Internet was really only available on the first floor. The signal was not strong enough to get past the second floor which at the price they charge should have been fixed. Also the elevator is tiny and only goes to the third floor but this seems common in Venice. Be advised the key to your room is HUGE and heavy and they ask(or more like tell you, not that you could lug that thing around anyway) you to leave it at the front desk when you go out. When you come back you give your room number and he gives the key back.

We enjoyed our two night stay at the Hotel Carlton Capri which was conveniently located just behind the Hotel Carlton Grand Canal and close to the transit center. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly and accommodating. The room was rather small and somewhat musty smelling but we used it only for sleeping and showering so it was fine. We loved the complimentary trip to the glass blowing island of Burano via private water taxi. Also a 10% discount on dining at the Grand hotel was a nice perk. We would recommend this hotel for it's value and location. One helpful tip for Hotels.com would be to direct people to take the water bus stop (1 or 2) to the train station go 200 meters behind the Carlton Grand Hotel in order to fin the Hotel Capri.

The hotel is a 5 min walk from train station - 20 min walk if you have luggage! Why? cuz as soon as you leave the station, you have to cross over a bridge of STEPS!!!.. so you cant role you suitcase.. u have to carry it. you may find people offering to help you take your suitcase across the bridge for about 5 Euros. Trust me, its worth it!! Anyhow, the hotel room is SMALL. I am not saying that I am from Canada and i expect big rooms. But the single room is small. and VERY small. Cannot put luggage properly and even more around, and the bathroom is like a closet. Pointless Safe too. Also, its not a very clear route to get to it. I would instead recommened their sister hotel, the Cartlon on the Grand Canal which is 4 star and just across the terminal station.

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights during our holidays in December. The hotel is very close to the main train station Santa Lucia (around 7 to10 minutes walk), Veporetto stop, bus stop Piazzale Roma but this is very far from St. Marks Square and the Rialto bridge, although you can reach there by walking in 30-45 mins. The room and the attached toilet were clean and moderate in size, but the lift was very small hardly two people could fit inside. The TV in the room is very tiny (approx. 19 inch) but has plenty of channels to watch. The quality of room and the room service was satisfactory as it should be with such high price. The staffs are very nice, polite and helpful having good knowledge of the local attractions. We would love to stay in this hotel again.

Thanks so much for the hotel management for upgrading us to Carlton Grand Canal Hotel 4*, very nice except bathroom so small. The original Carlton Capri Hotel is not easy to find, we discovered it was behind the narrow alley of the sister hotel. You couldn't believe that there will be a hotel inside the alley (without lighting) as stated in the map. We arrived in late evening in plz. roma around 19:30, and took us 2 hrs to find and settle in the hotel. The walkways in Venice is really complicated (like a puzzle) and locals are not good to ask. It is deadly difficult for self travelers 1st time to Venice to search for hotel at night time. Luckly we were upgraded to the Grand Canal which is by the side of the canal this time. A little advice for other self travelers, better arrive Venice when there is sunlight, coz it was a dreadful experience for us, and prepare your body physically strong to carry the luggages over the bridges.

We thought we were booked into the Grand Carlton on the Grand Canal. It was very disappointing to find that the Carlton Capri was located in the rear of the Grand Carlton and not on the Grand Canal, as you show in your snapshot photograph on our reservation confirmation. Very disappointing for our first trip to Venice.

I book a superior room, but The hotel carlton Capri move my room to another hotel Carlto hotel group with 4 star. But the hotel room is very old and dark, Which is not worth 4 star. I am very disapoint for the room which is not meet my expectation.

We initially arrived at the address listed to find a hotel in a back alley of Venice. After arriving we were told that we had been upgraded to the Carlton on the Grand Canal. The hotel we arrived at had a very nice lobby area and were were greeted by staff to take our bags to our room. The reception staff were very friendly, polite and answered all our questions. The room was very small but adequate and this was an upgrade so I would be concerned how small the original room would have been. The location of the hotel was excellent being directly across the Grand Canal from the Santa Lucia train station. If we were staying longer the size of the room would have been an issue however the location and the facilities were good. My only other concern was the rudeness of one of the staff. As we had a late train we had our bags stored in the luggage hold. We asked to have one of our bags to change clothes part way through the day and were rudely spoken to and had a lot of difficulty informing the staff member that we didn't want all our bags just the one described and would still be holding the bags. I didn't think the request was all that difficult or should be all that of an issue but was made to feel very bad for the experience. All in all a thoroughly average hotel.

Stayed here for its convenient location. Friendly and helpful staff. Wireless is free. Breakfast was simple yet good although perhaps lacking in variety. Rooms are relatively small. Encountered a bizarre artifact that was that the toilet paper roll remained within the shower limits when the curtains were drawn! Beware that the images on the website show the sister hotel Carlton, which is a 4-star. the actual Carlton Capri (3-star) is off a side street a little further way. It does not have access to the Canal as you might be led to believe from the photos.

We chose this hotel because of its close proximity to the Santa Lucia railway station and Piazzale Roma, as we figured it would be better to have a shorter walk with our cases and a slightly longer walk to get to the main sites. In this respect it was perfect, only a few minutes walk over the bridge from the station, and in fact nothing in Venice is very far to access on foot. The hotel is also quite close to the Frari church, which is spectacular and well worth a visit. The room was clean but small, which I think is pretty standard in Venice. No tea & coffee-making facilities in the room though. Breakfast was a selection of cereals, ham & cheese, bread and pastries, and scrambled eggs and bacon if you wanted hot food. Plenty to start you off for the day, and pieces of fresh fruit were there but if would have been nice to have had some pre-prepared fruit. The service at breakfast was very friendly and attentive. I think in terms of value-for-money this hotel was about average for Venice (if you think Venice is expensive, try Florence!) and its location was very convenient.

We stayed at this hotel 6 years ago and when we had the opportunity to go back to Venice we looked up the name of the hotel so we could stay there again. It is a great location, clean and comfortable rooms, and a wonderful and helpful staff. As most things are in Venice, it is always an interesting experience to find the hotel once you get there, but I was able to remember some landmarks and we walked to it pretty easily. Thank you for a great time in Venice. I have already recommended the hotel to others.

When you check the website of this hotel - it looks fantastic! A place for you to have breakfast right on a deck overlooking the Grand Canal, a fabulous lobby, friendly helpful staff... well that's not exactly what this hotel is about. Although the location is pretty good... tucked in an ally behind the Grand Canal - the hotel needs a lot of work. We were staying in a room on the first floor and despite its location across the street from the main bus/train station in Venice... the hotel wasn't that great. The room was clean (and far larger than I expected) but it had no view and the walls were all scratched up/the furniture VERY used. The breakfasts were held in a room which had a weird odor and the staff failed to open up the windows. On top of that - the staff was rude and when we checked in the man at the desk hardly lifted his eyes from the book and wasn't too helpful when asking questions. He didn't even smile. It was pathetic. Don't work in a hotel if you're rude or have a chip on your shoulder... clearly service isn't your industry of choice. The room was pretty clean but the AC wasn't really working and even tho we weren't staying at the peak of summer... nights did get a little warm. Overall - there are a lot of other, better deals to be had in Venice and I wouldn't suggest this hotel to any traveler.

Kunde inte ha hittat ett bättre hotell. Läget nära buss- och järnvägsstation var guld värt eftersom vi inte behövde bära väskorna över så många broar. Rena och trevliga rum. Trevlig personal. Hit vill jag gärna komma tillbaka.

Alt er lite i Venezia, det samme gjelder for rommet vi hadde. Det skulel være et Superior rom, noe det var, men rommets størrelse var vel maks på 12 Kvadrat pluss et lite strøkent bad. :-) Uansett, hotellrommet er jo ikke det man er i Venezia for. Service, mat og vennlighet var topp.! ANbefalninger etc også. Flott, enkelt lite intimt hotell i kjernen av VEnezia. Kan anbefalles.

Der mangler et køleskab - ellers alt OK

とにかく利便性がいいのと多言語サービス可でこのホテルにしました。私が宿泊したのはダブルスーペリアのお部屋でしたが、ゆっくりしたバスタブがありシャワーの水量も問題ありませんでした。部屋は常にエアコンがフルで効いており半袖でちょうど良いくらいでした。フロントもホールスタッフもベッドメイキングのスタッフもとても親切でした。英語もおぼつかない状態の私でも気持ちよく宿泊できました。ただ、初めて行くのにはちょっと道が分かりづらいと思います。GoogleのMAPはかなり簡素化していますので、ベネチアについたらサンタルチア駅のインフォメーションで詳細な地図を購入する事をお勧めします。住所で探せばすぐにホテルが見つかりますよ。朝食はヨーロピアンスタイル＋ベーコンとスクランブルエッグがついてました。パンは焼きたてでおかわり自由です。またベネチアに行く時は利用したいです。

L'hôtel Carlton Capri est un excellent hôtel très proche de la gare, ce qui évite de traverser la ville avec ses bagages. Excellent service et très très propre.

I stayed 2 nights at Capri Carlton hotel and would recommend it for staying in Venice. It is very close to the buss station where you can get the shuttle to and from the airport and well located for sightseeing and to the major sights (venice is also very small so you are close almost regardless of where you stay). The rooms are rather small and fairly basic but clean and the staff were very friendly and helpfull. The breakfast was nice and quite varied by Italian standard.

Todo correcto, pero la ubicación no es adecuada si te quedas en Venecia. Cercana a la estación de Vaporetto de Ferreria (la salida de la isla) pero no del centro de Venecia (Plaza San Marcos) y volver allí por la noche a pié es una odisea, por ser un complicado laberinto.

The picture on internet shows Carlton hotel, Carlton Capri's sister hotel. This is situated by the River Grande, while the Carlton Capri hotel i situated away from the canal, 50 meters away. It is easy to find and very sentral to the Piazzale Roma and the railway-station, only 5 minutes walk. We, 2 people, had a tripple room so the size wasn't bad, but some of the rooms are very small. It was nice and clean with a good atmosphere and a nice bathroom, quite cosy actually. The breakfast was nice and the dining-room small and nice. If/ when I next time come to Venice, I'll probably stay at hotel Carlton Capri again.

Cuando vuelva a Venecia, me volveré a hospedar en este hotel. Su situación muy buena, al lado de la plaza de Roma, y el hotel me parecio bastante bien, la habitación y el baño algo pequeños, pero por lo demas muy recomendable. El personal muy amable.

Conveniently located near the train station. Very quiet. Small, but clean and comfortable rooms. Friendly, uncomplicated service.

Very good room standard, we got a room for two with separare beds which we had requested. Also a little terrace with a view of the rooftops. The location is close to the station and to the airport transfer, just a 5 minute walk. On the bad side it was very hard to find the hotel since it is located in a labyrinth-like street that was impossible to see on the map. It is not fun running around in the heat with luggage trying to find the hotel!
