RIght on the beach and Boardwalk. Nice family owned place with free bike rentals. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Very clean and reasonable complared to some of other hotels/resorts on the ocean. Deluxe continental breakfast pretty dismal, but besides that I would stay again.

This is an old school hotel surrounded by new high rise Hotels. Location is perfect, rooms a little small, staff Really nice. Too old for hubby yet perfect for Budget traveling families. The kids and I were totally fine because the location is Right on the boardwalk. Starbucks is three blocks Away where the coffee is way better than the Offering at breakfast. Try tautogs, watermans, the raven got good food

The staff we very hospitable and nice. I would definetly visit this hotel again if ever in the area. Great price, location, free bike rentals, great location and more. The ONLY negative thing I have to say about this hotel is their continental breakfast. The OJ both mornings was sour and old....the need to find better methods to keep the OJ fresh like use small individual cartons or replace their OJ every hour or something.

This is the second time we spent News Years weekend at the Oceanview Econolodge. Both visits were great experiences. Friendly and helpful staff. Confortable rooms. Clean and well maintained. Beautiful ocean view. Very reasonably priced. We'll be coming back for sure!

We pulled into VA Beach in an absolute down pour. Looking at the front of the building it looks like any other Econo Lodge you may pass, but once into the room, and walk through out the back door is what makes this one different. Literally on the boardwalk, and on the beach. Perfect location to relax on the beach. Staff was extremely friendly. Will stay again.

A friend and I stayed here for the Wicked 10K race. It was a great value and the location was great in relation to the start (VA Beach Convention Center) and and finish for the race. The room was clean and view of the beach was great (although it was cold!). Due to the weather we did not use the pool or bikes. I would stay here again.

My sister and I stayed here for the Komen 5k. Surprise #1 - room on the third floor and no elevator. Surpise #2 - one parking space per room. It cost my sister $30 to park in a public lot.

I took an elderly friend to the beach Columbus Day weekend 2011. I was a little disappointed that I could not find a room anywhere except Econolodge, but I needed to get away so I took the room. What a pleasant surprise. It is a little dated, the parking is tight but the rooms are immaculate! The staff is very accomodating; We requested a heater for the cool night and they brought it to the room in what seemd like seconds!! The breakfast is simple but enough to tide you over til lunch. The location is in the heart of the beach, right on the boardwalk. I will be going back again and again!

I was very pleased with my choice of this hotel. A step away from the beach, a couple of blocks from various eateries and shops and in the center of the nightlife, never getting too loud at the same time! A very reasonable price even at the peak season, and that included breakfast. The cute little pool is perfect after braving the waves. My three daughters and I had to cut our stay short due to the hurricane warnings, and the staff was excellent about it, understanding and helpful. I got my money reimbursed. We will surely come back!

I made the reservation 3 days in advance and still got a great price for the area. The hotel was not fancy but it was clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and family. The only minor issue I had was the fact that there’s no indoor pool.

Rooms are clean and well maintained. Location is excellent - on the beach and close to enough to the boardwalk action without the noise affecting your stay.

I was ruluctant to stay but glad we did. The staff is very friendly and outgoing. Room was small but clean and it had a beautiful view of the beach. I would definitely stay again.

Had a great time there! Small hotel, which was fine, quiet. Great for families. Very clean and the staff was friendly. Steps to the beach. Small pool, but again very clean, and the parking was tight. We will be back!!

This is not a fancy resort, however it makes up for the lack of luxuries by the incredible staff. They are very small with only three floors so you get the extra attention that the larger places don't have time for. The pool is nice and was never very crowded. They even provided towels for your swim. They offer free bike rentals which with several people riding can save you a lot of money. There is a free simple breakfast every morning. The coffee was fresh as were the bagels. There are flat screen televivions with free HBO. The ice machine works and there are vending machines on the grounds. Really now, what more could you need or even want?

Very happy with this hotel, it is 3 stories and we were on 3rd floor (no elevator) which was fine, we had a great view of the ocean. It was clean and a good deal.

My family and I stayed at the Econo Lodge on the weekend of June 24- June 26. It is a small hotel and not exactly new but the room was clean and the staff was very friendly and accomadating. The view from the seond story room was excellent as we could see the ocean and the boardwalk. The continental breakfast was an added benefit with danish, muffins. coffee and cereals. We will stay there again next year!

This is a nice, affordable place to stay on the boardwalk at VA Beach!

My husband and I go to Va Beach several weekends each year and this trip was a last minute getaway so the place we usually stay was all booked up for the holiday weekend. We picked this hotel based on the other reviews on this site and they were right on! The hotel is by no means fancy. But it was very clean, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and you can't beat the location! We will definitely stay here again!

The room was super clean considering it is right on the beach, I know after we came back from the beach our room was full of sand and they immaculately clean after every guest. The breakfast was a basic continental but they had the best bagels and cheese danishes I have ever tasted. The location is amazing, it is right on the boardwalk and beach. Every room is an ocean view, I woke up every morning to watching the waves crashing ashore. It is in a GREAT location and within walking distance to numerous restaurants, ice cream shops, pubs/bars, clubs, stores, pharmacy,etc. The pool is clean and heated, there are plenty of laying down lounge chairs. My stay was perfect until....I had to run to the store late one night and when I returned to their very small parking lot I could not fit my SUV into the space they wanted me to park in. The red headed front desk lady came out and I asked her if I could park somewhere else and she said no. So I told her one more time that there was no way I could fit. She told me she could park it for me because she does it all the time. Well...we'll cut the story short, for some stupid reason I let her park my truck and.... SHE CRASHED MY TRUCK INTO HER CAR! Yep, like I said my stay was perfect until then.

The reviews I read were right on the money. customer service was ow some very helpful. We were quite impressed with the cleanliness of the somewhat small, but well- maintained rooms. The free daily newspaper, continental breakfast, and bikes made our stay everything we hoped it would be. We would definitely stay here again.

I hesitate to review because this hotel is the best kept secret in Virginia Beach. Great staff, free bike rental, every room a beach view, and micro/frig in every room. And the price is unbeatable. Make sure you book Econo Lodge On the Ocean. There are others in VA Beach. They may be good, haven't tried them, but this one is great.

Great location on the beach. Can't say much about the service, since we only stayed overnight. The room seemed clean, nothing shabby. Tiny breakfast area. Not quite a resort neighborhood. Again: great location on the beach.

We had company of 4 people and stay in this hotel for 2 nights. It was off the season time. It is very convenient location and friendly personal. Free bike rental included in our stay and kids and myself enjoy extra unexpected perk for the money we paid. I will rented again..

Hotel was nice and comfortable. Nothing fancy, a little bit older hotel. Weather was warm, they told us they were not going to turn the air on for us. Room was clean. Over all it suited the purpose.

VIEW WAS EXCELLENT AND WE HAD A GREAT TIME- WENT LOOKING FOR HORSES BUT DIDN'T FIND ANY, BUT THE HIKE WAS GREAT.

When I arrived at the hotel I saw immediately that I had booed the wrong ECON O LODGE. I was expecting the one down the street where I had stayed before. Now I must admit the outside of the hotel didn't exactly endear me to it quickly. I walked in and immediately asked if I could change my reservation. The girl behind the counter was so pleasant and funny , she asked me why did I want to do that. I asked if I can see the room? "OK she said; You gon like it." :-) She gave me a key and when I walked in I was like WOW! It was so clean and so cozy and so prefect It was ten times BETTER than the "other" one down the street! I was on the first floor and just steps away from the boardwalk and the sand. I was so pleased; really and I am HARD to please. I go every week on business and before I stayed down the street at the Grand something which was a filthy dreadful mess! Anyway I went back and got my key both the girl and the guy (can't remember his name but he was nice also) had smiles on their face. I only planned for one day but I stayed through Saturday. Met ART who is a real gem of a guy. It was my birthday so they gave me a nice colorful printout and it was just nice. That morning I did something I had not done in a while and that is rode a bike. They offer free bikes! I really did not want to leave. The room was comfy , had the fridge, micro, iron, flat screen, furniture was not bad own the eyes and a perfect view for me. I will stay there from now on anytime I come. The offer a Continental breakfast which was nice although I really wish they would add the waffles. LOL. I like when they have the waffles. Either way I went down the street and had waffles. This is a great stay for the money and the staff was fantastic!

the ocean view is always the best. i can say that the view from the motel was awesome.

This motel is an exceptional value. Each room is clean and has a private oceanfront balcony and guests receive a free continetal breakfast. The staff is courteous and friendly. A friend and I stay here only 1 night each year, but we are always satisfied with this Econo Lodge as it always meets our expectations. I am confident people have paid far more and received much less in other area hotels. The owners here really care about their guests. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed. As I mentioned earlier..... it's CLEAN. Oh, and it has free wi-fi too.

I was a little wary when I booked the hotel on line but we had planned a last minute trip to the beach and there wasn't a lot avail. We were very impressed. We were able to check in early and the room was very nice and clean and the staff was excellent. They even had bikes for us to use for free. The continental breakfast was fine and they had coffee at all times. They staff was friendly and accomodating. The location was great.We were right in the middel of the city. Would definitely stay there again. Also great view of the ocean as well.

I planned a last minute weekend getaway with my wife and kids. Please note that we were not looking for a 4 star room, just a nice clean place to change cloths and sleep. The room was average size and clean. The AC was working very well and to my surprise, it had a mini-fridge/freezer and microwave. The balcony overlooked the boardwalk/ocean and the curtains were relatively good at blocking out the early morning sun. There were easy to access to a few power outlets and the WiFi worked as expected. Only thing I would have liked to see would have been some inputs on the older TV in the room (even standard composite would have been nice). The location was great for us and was within a few blocks of different restaurants, stores, etc... The parking was tight, but because we could walk to everything we needed, the car didn't need to move. The hotel staff was friendly and courteous. You could tell that customer service was important and they always greeted me with a smile.

We had a very nice time here. The room was ready early (we checked in at noon instead of 3), which was very nice after the long drive. We could see the beach from our balcony and they have us plenty of towels downstairs to take to the pool or the beach. The breakfast was a little disappointing, but free is free. The beds were comfy, the hotel was quiet, the staff was friendly and it took less than five minutes to get to the beach. All the bars were a short walk away and there were good places to eat within a 5 min walk. Overall a very good experience.

Room was clean and very quiet. The A/C did a fine job during the August heat. Beds were comfortable. The view of the ocean and boardwalk was spectacular. The boardwalk is a blast to walk at night. A wide range of stores were abundant along the main street for anyone wishing to buy gifts or essentials for their stay. Remember this is a tourist destination and some of the restaurants were wonderful but some were not. I will stay here again.

THIS WASN'T OUR FIRST STAY HERE. THOUGH ITS NOT A FANCY RESORT, WE FIND THE STAFF FRIENDLY AND THE HOTEL CLEAN. ALSO ITS RIGHT ON THE BOARDWALK AND ALL ROOMS HAVE A OCEANVIEW BALCONY. WE SPEND A LOT OF TIME OUTDOORS, SO THIS SUITS US FINE.

Although just spent 1 night there, I would gladly recommend this motel to others: the location is superb, the rooms are good, you get many conveniences you may not have in other places. The place has a really fast internet connection, which I needed for my work. The hotel staff was very kind. Two thing, which may be improved: only 4 seats in the breakfast area (in off season it's not an issue, but I wouldn't like to imagine in summer) and the hotel bikes may be taken only for an hour.
