Embassy Suites Hotel & Casino San Juan - كارولينا

The breakfast was not as expected from my last stay at Dorado Embassy. Food was over priced, took too long to be served, and quality was terrible!

Everything in the hotel was ok, but the parking should have been complimentary for a 1 week stay.

Loved the hotel. However The restaurant was terrible. Took some friends there, that we had not seen in six years. Had very bad service and when we talked to waitress she tools us she was busy. She didn't know what the entrees were made of, left our dirty appetizer dishes on the table when she brought your dinners, could not get a drink refill to save our soul even when I went and tracked her down! That is when she told me she was busy. When we arrived there was only one other table for two sitting there! Very disappointed especially since we won't see our friends again for years.

We loved our stay. Terrific breakfast buffet. We have never stayed at a hotel where they give you a TWO HOUR happy hour with all the drinks you want. All the staff were very pleasant. The location was great. Ten minutes from the airport and walking distance to the ocean and beach. We loved the spaciousness of our room. We had two flat screen TV's in our room which was great. One in the sitting area and one in the bedroom. We really appreciated the OUTBACK restaurant right there at the hotel also. No need to go traveling to find a good place to eat.

We noticed that pretty much everyone was on island time but once they got to us the service was great! Hotel was kept up well, the breakfast is great with ALOT of options for being free although we were not happy with the hotel fees and suite fees we were hit with at the check out. Kind of offsets the free breakfast. Location was cool, right by the beach and restaurants. Although our view was far from spectacular we would use them again since the stay was comfortable and affordable.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Embassy, the location is perfect and everything is walking distance from the hotel. The room was really clean and the guest service staff were really nice and helpful.

We stayed here for a night on the return leg of a trip to the Caribbean. On the outbound leg, we had stayed 5 nights at the Hampton Inn in Isla Verde a few blocks away. The Embassy Suites room was larger, but overall a little more worn/dingy. It wasn't dirty, it just showed some signs of it's age. The Embassy Suites had a cocktail hour and a casino on site. They charged an extra resort fee, which didn't happen at the Hampton Inn. Both had free wi-fi. The Hampton Inn is closer to the beach by a couple of blocks than the Embassy Suites. The soundproofing was better at the Hampton Inn, but the Embassy Suites wasn't too noisy. My wife and I liked the breakfast at Hampton Inn better, but if you like omelets (we don't), they have made to order ones at Embassy Suites. All in all, when we go back to San Juan, we will stay at the Hampton Inn. We liked the Hampton Inn room better and it was more than 1/3 less expensive than the Embassy Suites.

It was ok except for a couple of little things like the closet door was broken furniture was very outdated and the sheets smelledb like mildew.

Living rooms are gloomy and tired. Breakfast and happy hour lines were very long on weekend. Key cards quit working 3 times over 4 days. Beach is 3 blocks away.Staff tries hard to be helpful.

The music and noise coming from the casino area was so loud in the room it shook the entire room and made it impossible to sleep. The noise continued until 1:30 in the morning. If this had been my first experience with an embassy suites it would have been my last.

We arrived late after a delayed flight to have the hotel clerk tell us we were booked for two rooms. My confirmation said just one room, paid in full.We were told we would have to contact Hotels.com directly to straighten it out and she gave us the Expedia # as it is the same company. (?) I called the # given to be told I needed to contact Hotels.com, not Expedia. That being straightened out, ( we had 1 room), and a few hours later after a short night's sleep, upon check-out we were charged a resort fee. Paid in full means that to me, no add-ons. Hotels.com told us they could do that; it should be part of their listing. For all the hotels in SanJuan, for one night prior to a cruise, we'll find another next year.

The Embassy Suites Hotel was a great find close to the airport, clean rooms, nice pool for the kids, with-in walking distance to the beach. No airport Shuttle, but reasonable rate for taxi ride for 5 people. We will stay here again.

Tried to make the best of our canceled cruise. Stayed here for the week. Nice hotel with nice pool, breakfast buffet, etc... Rented a car for a day to get around. Would be nice if you didn't have to pay to park in their parking garage, since your already paying enough to stay at their hotel! Taxi rides add up after a while going back and forth to places to see.

It's one of the few hotels that can accommodate our family of 5 in comfort!

This hotel was clean and near a clean beach, most importantly. We spent 2 nights st the embassy suites and 3 nights st the double tree, I can assure you that we enjoyed or stay at the embassy suites more. Everything is in walking distance, there are several restaurants and small local shops.

Close to the airport, yet no jet noise. The room was clean and fresh, without disappointments. The hotel was full and the line for a free drink in the evening was too long to wait for. The onsite Outback Steakhouse is very convenient, and familiar after a long day of traveling. On Saturday nights, the hotel allows small booths of local vendors in the atrium, and also offers lobby bar and casino. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is near a park, police station, and a Walgreens. The morning breakfast was well presented with omelets as a specialty Overall, this hotel is safe, clean, entertaining, and relaxing.

Had reservations for a non smoking king bed suite. Upon arrival, they only had a smoking/disability room available. It was very inconvenient because I have asthma!!

Every thing was great except first day we were installed in a room that had been recently painted & the oddor from the paint was too strong still. We request another room & the gentleman who Assisted us was very kind & move us to another too Right away.

It's one of the best hotels in the isla verde area because of not be so expensive and being close to everything. I have stayed there more than 5 times, the area, casino, music, the people are just amazing. You should all go there when in puerto rico.

Pool area very relaxing. Outback service was good & food quality was betwen fair & good. Overall service was very satisfactory. Breakfast & Evening reception - Service & quality was good.

Pros: Helpful and customer friendly front desk service. Complimentary breakfast: I had french toast, scrambled eggs, potatoes and bacon with apple juice. Beautiful relaxing ambient lobby. Ice maker on each floor. Elevators. Clean suite. It had a mini fridge, coffee maker, sink & microwave. Also a small closet with an ironing board & iron. Hair drier in the bathroom cabinet. Complimentary soap, shampoo, & lotion. Hot water. There's a flat screen in both the room & living room. Gorgeous view of the pool & bar area in the 3rd floor from my room. Cons: It's funny because I read about this in the reviews before I got to the hotel and I experienced it firsthand: There were only 1 or 2 people attending the breakfast made-to-order line which made the line lag real slow, and discouraged me. So I went down the buffet line. The buffet breakfast was cold, and there was no toaster or microwave available nearby. They also have to check when they are running out of food. When I got there, the scrambled eggs and bacon were already almost finished. The king bed felt like it had a dent all the way down the middle and I felt uncomfortable laying on it. I purchased about 3 in-room movies from their poor selection and the flat screen was grainy. They have to fix this. If we are paying a lot of money, the quality should be HDTV. The entire picture was grainy and poor. As for parking, make sure you register your parking ticket the first time you check in at the front desk. Otherwise they won't bill you the per/day rate & when ever you leave the hotel during your stay, they will charge you by the hour.

We stayed here just one night after our cruise. While the hotel isn't "on the beach", it is within a 5 minute walk. The neighborhood directly surrounding the hotel didn't have a lot of restaurant/bar options but within a few minutes, you could walk to many restaurants and bars near the beach. Since we enjoy eating in "local" restaurants, we tried to find something that was a bit off the beaten path rather than just eat in the hotel restaurant.

Everything was fine. Room was enormous....more like a one bedroom apartment. Breakfast included is nice. FREE happy hour 5:30-7:30. Don't forget to use the free match bets in the casino....but go elsewhere for serious gambling (reccomend the Ritz Carlton...its nearby) hang out in lobby of El san juan hotel latenight.

We stayed here for five days and were very pleased with the staff overall very helpful. Only two negatives, the breakfast could use an additional chef for the cook to order and the concierge in the lobby could have been a little more helpful, they only promote there tours, not very helpful if you want to do things on your own outside of a tour/group. There are plenty of available websites though that you can use to make your own plans. Overall very nice and friendly hotel.

We stayed (5 in room) for one night prior to a cruise. The front desk was extremely helpful and curtious as were the cleaning personnel. The room was clean but the sofa bed was horrible! The main beds were good. The contenental breakfast was wonderful. The pool area and bar were very nice - pool not heated. Situated 2.5 blocks from beach with restaurants and a grocery store near by.

We booked this hotel so we could safely be in San Juan the day before our cruise left. We were able to sleep four comfortably -- just like Embassy Suites in the continental U.S. We took advantage of several services of the hotel: We enjoyed the free cocktail hour the evening of our arrival. The concierge booked us on a day tour of the Rain Forest (very good tour) and she recommended a restaurant open on Christmas Day that provided great local cuisine. We stored our luggage at the hotel even though we had checked out. And, we ate lunch at the hotel prior to taking a cab to the port to board our ship. All in all, this hotel worked out very well for all our plans and I would recommend it highly to those in the same situation.

Best Hotel on the Island. Best customer service. Amazing pool. 2 blocks from amazing beach also close to airport. Breakfast amazing. Coctail hour incredible. Perfect Hotel. Can't wait to go back!

The room, free breakfast. free cocktails were very good. The trip arranged by the staff was outstanding. We enjoyed our stay and would go again.

Hotel was very nice. The housekeeping and room service staffs are very friendly and helpful. Christmas decorations and activities were delightful. The full breakfast and dinner drinks were exceptional. The Outback Steak house is in the lobby food is awesome. If you're feeling home sick fast food restaurants like Pizza Hut and Wendy"s are only one block away. Would definitely go back once the price is right :-)

The hotel itself is nice but the service is terrible. Very understaffed. Long lines to check in and at the buffet. I had to wait about 20 minutes just to get a new room key when my key wouldn't work. One person cooking omelets, eggs, and pancakes with 20 people in line.

Really nice. Free breakfast buffet and free happy hour every day. Very close to the airport. Also they have a casino in the hotel. Really nice pool. Love it

The room was nice and clean, comfortable bed, the sofa sleeper isn't very comfortable to sit on, but the pool is beautiful. The item that was the most impressive is the free breakfast, unlike most free continental breakfasts, there were made to order omelets and lots of great choices. I will look for Embassy Suites next time I need a hotel.

This hotel was chosen for its location and reviews, but we clearly made a mistake. Firstly, we were not given the room type reserved (two double beds) and none were available. What's the point of reserving a specific type of room then?? Then the room we were given had a non-smoking sign in it, but it was VERY apparent that that was not a non-smoking room from the stench. As non-smokers, there would have been no way to remain in the room for the night, so we had to request a room change. Finally, after settling into a new room, we checked the hotel information binder for availability times for the restaurant, as it was late and travel was long. Supposedly, midnight was the closing time for the restaurant, but it was actually 11pm. This forced us into the Casino lounge for food (which was good), but the noise level was too much after all the travel. This same noise level carried to the rooms quite a bit, also. The breakfast is chaos, but there is quite a good selection as compared to most complimentary breakfasts. Overall, the experience left us less than satisfied with the value of our stay, let alone impressed in any way.
