The room was excellent, the food was wonderful and the service was exceptional

We had a wonderful one night stay in the The Swan. Hotel feels very welcoming and provides a perfect base for exploring Lavenham and the surrounding area. We had dinner in the Gallery restaurant. The food and service were very good, and although some might think a little on the expensive side, well worth it. The room was very comfortable although the bathroom was perhaps a little on the small side. Breakfast was also very good, every thing cooked fresh. All in all an excellent hotel.

Beautiful hotel, extremely well maintained. Breakfast is served at your table and is not to be missed. Only two gripes: first parking is not ideal, although there is an overflow across the road; secondly the direct booking hotel rates were opportunistically high with the wedding "concession" rate sold out - fortunately hotels.com were cheaper that the concession rate!

This is probably one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff were very polite and helpful and the hotel itself was an absolute delight. Full to the brim with history. It is exceptionally well maintained in all the areas - rooms as well as communal areas. Only one slight moan - my breakfast was a touch on the cold side - the hollandaise on the eggs benedict looked like it had been spooned straight out of a jar on to the dish - cold sauce on warm eggs is not nice! Other than that, could not fault the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel. It may seem a touch on the expensive side but you do get what you pay for. We were even offered fruit and freshments for our journey home.......

We asked for a quiet room and were allocated one looking over the garden, the room was lovely and everything of the highest quality. It felt as if we had come away for a real treat. It was my partners birthday and the hotel had left a card and box of Hotel Chocolat chocolates. The restaurant was lovely, service could not have been better and the food was fantastic (a bit pricey though, as there was no choice of one or two courses - you had to have three, although the wine was reasonable). Breakfast was also wonderful, and you could have it in your room for a tray charge of £5.00. apart from the usual english there were other choice such as smoked salmon and scrambled eggs or eggs Benedict. The hotel in right on the high st which is lovely to potter around. I would certainly recommend the Swan for a quiet, relaxing, pampered break.
