Four Points by Sheraton Ventura Harbor Resort - فينتورا

We had to wait for over an hour to check in when we arrived at 4:00 p.m. ! the excuse was that the rooms were not ready. We asked to be notified by cellphone when the room was ready,but never got a call. Finally at a little past five, my husband went over to the desk and asked about the room status. We had been sitting at the bar in full view of the female staff at the desk. Her attitude was uncaring and rude. I have never had to wait for a room when booking through hotels.com. She said she upgraded our room, but we had requested a king an got two queens. If that room was upgraded, I would hate to see a regular room. We won't be going back. The bar staff were very pleasant and helpful. They were the only good thing about our stay.

If you stay you will have to open the windoow four fresh air the cleaner used is very strong smelled like a wet dog had been staying there.

Overall very good and comfortable place to stay. The staff was courteous and prompt. The room was clean and well maintained. The landscaping was sharp. It's a good thing the day was beautiful because that only helped how I am rating this. The only grief I have is that the rooms were a little out dated. Sheraton should fork out some money for renovations on some rooms. There wasn't a microwave as well. But I would definitely return...

The bed and pillows might be the most comfy I've ever slept on! The staff was super friendly. The location is a little odd since there's really nothing around the hotel. We were told we had an ocean view but we had to look over a building, accross the parking lot and through the cars to see a little glimpse of the ocean. And I agree with other commenters; the outside smell is horrible sometimes. Over all though, it was a nice hotel with clean, updated rooms and comfy beds :)

The facilities are fine and the rooms are large. We booked 2 king-size bed rooms and were told we had queens without any explanation. Not really a problem, just an abrupt change for a vacation get away. Also, like airlines today, this hotel is inexpensive to begin with and then they bump up the price. For example, breakfast is extra, $10 parking a day, money for coffee/tea after 9:00 am, etc.

Very happy with our short stay at Four Points Sheraton Ventura Harbour. The room was gorgeous, the balcony had beautiful views overlooking marina. Great bathroom set up and very quiet.

Our "harbor view" room was directly over the garbage bins and the smell from the harbor was not pleasant in the morning around the hotel. More of a motel, than hotel really. Bar not open until later in the evening.

The hotel was run down. DInner - the mahimahi in crust of macadamia nuts - was horrible. A glob of greasy flour with no mamacdamia I could taste encasing a too thick slice of mahimahi. The hotel treated me like second class citizen because I had booked the room thru expedia. At first they did not acknoweldge my reservation for a superior room. Room I finally got was on ground floor with no privacy. I was forced to keep drapes drawn the whoel time. Right next to some pool machine that snarled all night long. The only saving grace was a friendly concerned staff but they had a poor product to sell.

The location is very close to the freeway, the harbor and a lot of nice resturants. I like that the Hotel is dog friendly and will be back again soon!

I was asked two questions while I was checking in: 1) One bed or two? 2) Upper or lower room? I asked for one bed on the upper level. The reservation was for a room with one bed... I received the keys to my room and ended up on the first floor with two beds. Go figure. I immediately went back to the counter and was informed that no other rooms were available. They could have told me that while I was checking in. Communication is key.

Putting the Four Points ahead of the Sheraton is a bit much, given that this hotel feels like an overhaul of an outdated compound, but it's not all bad. The room was spacious, clean and had some nice touches (free bottled water, nice linens, garden views), but it wasn't as high end as the price point would indicate. The walk from the reception to our room seemed like miles as we navigated maze-like hallways and there wasn't a bellman to speak of. I might have been less critical of the distance if I wasn't hauling many bags around. The spa was close to our room, however, so that was nice, and taking a soak after a long bike ride that day (we were on AIDS LifeCycle) was a welcomed relief. Overall, I'd probably stay closer to our camp next time, since this is a lot farther away than I'd imagined, and pay less for what amounted to nothing more than new shiny badges on an old Sheraton hotel.

I would have been thrilled if I was staying here for a conference. But I wanted to be within walking distance of other activities and this was a bit distant. My fee was waived, but it now costs $10 a night to park. We had to ask to have food trays picked up from the hallway. Convenient on and off highway. Front desk staff were very nice and helpful.

I can't really explain why I haven't tried Four Points tlll now, especially since it is one of the few dog-friendly hotels with any kind of ocean proximity. The property is quite nice, quiet and well-maintained -- beautiful pool area, tennis courts, and a hot tub in a separate gazebo-like building. (By the way, quiet is no small thing as many of the hotels, including those that accept dogs, are right on the very noisy 101 freeway, and adjacent to the railroad tracks.) From the warm welcome at the front desk, to easy parking. I was very impressed. (I wish they didn't charge $10 for it, given it's so readily available. In SB, it is close to twice the price, so that's a plus), I was assigned a room that opened right onto a beautiful grassy area, convenient for the dog's walks. The room itself was very spacious (enormous bathroom!) and immaculate. There was a coffeemaker with great coffee and takeaway cups, and a small fridge, which came in handy. The bed was comfortable, with multiple soft pillows of all sizes (you can buy the bedding from the Sheraton). There was a small patio that I did not use -- it overlooked a parking lot -- but I did keep the sliding door open for fresh air during the day. The only noise was from the unit air conditioner, but if you have one of those (and I do), it does become white noise. Though Four Points is near the Ventura Harbor, which you can actually see from the property, it is too far away from the ocean to hear the sound of the waves. Four Points offers delicious coffee service in the main lobby from 7 to 9am, where I also saw computers, but the WiFi is free in the room, another plus (and makes up for the parking fee). There is room service, and the prices were not outrageous -- it's the extra servie fees that get you. I ran out of milk for my in-room coffee, and a lovely waitress from Leonard's, the on-site restaurant, graciously provided a half cup for me. The location was pretty convenient. Otherwise, this hotel was a disappointment. As a business traveler I have higher expectations for the 4 Points hotels. This one had thin walls. I could hear the TV in the next room to the point i knew what show they were watching. The "business center" was practically non-existant. The dinner, Mahi-Mahi, was barly recognizable. For that experience i could have stayed at a local motel and saved some money.

We thought it a big pricy for what is received in return. It was clean, good location, amenities were okay. But not special. 20% over priced

I recently stayed at this hotel, and was not impressed. I travel a lot for buisness and would have to say this one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. I was dissapointed with the room cleanliness, and the surroiunding smells around the hotel were terrible. Smells like sewage was leaking all around the area. We ate dinner at the marina nearby and was also dissapointed with taste and service. The walk to and from the Marina was sketchy as it was a abonnded shipo yard with people living in thier dry docked boats. Keep deiving to LA or stay in Oxnard.

Stayed here first weekend in March. Location is easy to access, close to anything you'd want to do in Ventura, but nothing special in terms of view or atmosphere. Front desk clerk was cute, charming on arrival. Rooms are large and bathroom was surprisingly spacious. The hotel is quite spread out, and it was a bit of a hike to get to our room near the end of the wing. Internet access is free and worked very well. Overall, we got what we wanted: a clean, quiet, pleasant stay at a reasonable price.

originally i priced Santa Barbara and Ojai to stay and decided on Ventura and was very satisfied with location and comfort..loved the bed. i travel a lot around the world was a great value.. Samana & Richard Maui, Hawaii

Good local. Nice view of the harbor. We stayed here because they allow pets and we were traveling with a dog. The restaurant was nice but over priced like all hotels. The mattress was terrible. My back ached and my husband's hips hurt every morning. The cleaning left something to be desired, hair left on bathroom floor for one thing. The carpet was dull and dirty looking.

Great location on the Bob Jones trail in Avila. Hot tub was a perfect addition, suitable for two.

Nice hotel but the room (specifically the bathroom) is very outdated. Hotel staff was very friendly and we had dinner in the hotels restaurant (Alexander's) which was excellent. Nice room for the price just need to do some bathroom remodeling.

Great service at the front desk. I broke my toe the week before my trip and they happily changed me to a handicapped room which made all of the difference in the world. Service all around was very good. Room had a little bit of a funky smell, but tolerable. Overall rooms were clean and comfortable. Would stay there again.

Sheraton = folk med penger. Mye fine biler på parkeringsplassen. Fint hotell, men de ansatte mangler glimtet i øyet. Veldig rent og pent overalt.
