The golf courses were awesome. I wanted to play some "desert golf" and The Boulders was a perfect choice. Wish that they had explained that we had full spa privledges at check-in. My wife would have used the spa while I was golfing. Looking forward to going back in the future. Would definately recommend to friends. Staff and service was outstanding.

I look forward to my next visit to The Boulders. It was terrific.

We had a great time! Unfortunately there were no more of the smaller casitas remaining so my wife and I stayed in a 3 bedroom villa - it was amazing but more room than we needed by far. Super friendly and helpful staff.

This resort is just beautiful. The rooms (casitas) are very pretty and comfortable. Great soaking tub, fireplace and balcony. Wonderful place for leisurely walks amongst nature, hiking, golfing, tennis or just contemplating the stars from you private balcony. Beautiful grounds, great service, great food. Wish I were still there. It is away from town, but well worth it. Excellent car service (fees apply) to take you where you want to go.

The service level at this resort for a 5 star resort is not what I'd expect. The setting is amazing and offers some great views. The rooms are fairly well maintained but starting to show some wear (leather chairs are faded and cracking, screen doors were bent and didn't close right). But I was pretty disappointed in the service. Upon check in the desk staff was great and very helpful. I had the valet just walk away from me mid sentence a couple times. We had horrible restaurant service at the spa for breakfast (had to get up and get water for ourselves at one point, and then the waitress instead of apologizing offered my wife a job). The couples massage was horribly over priced (massage itself was less than what I've experienced at even a Massage Envy, and it was very hurried). The lasting impression we were left with was from the service unfortunately. Most people were friendly, but it wasn't the over the top level of customer service you'd expect when paying $400 a night. The "my pleasure sir" response was missing like what you'd receive at a Ritz Carlton property. For a golf weekend or as a destination for a business conference/meeting I think I'd be very happy with the place, but looking for a way to spoil my wife for a weekend of over the top indulgence this place did not meet my expectations.

We went to The Bolders for a four night stay. We decided to rent a car in the Airport in Phoenix but next day I returned the car because I didn't see the use of it, you don't have to leave the place it is great! One of the bests weekend vacations I have ever had.

Great hotel...great service...friendly. It is a bit out of the way for most stadiums. We still had a wonderful time and our room was one nice room. Go Angels!!!

We had a wonderfully relaxing and enjoyable stay at the Boulders. The food at all restaurants was excellent! Service at every turn was lovely and gracious. The bike trails were very fun! We were disappointed to not have inquired about age restrictions for activities. Anyone under 18 can really only enjoy the pool. But, we will return for a relaxing getaway.

Very positive. I would recommend the hotel to others.

Absolutely beautiful. Service could not have been nicer. Quiet, clean, and more than comfortable--Luxurious even. Scenery is spectacular, and close to Carefree with great shopping and some good restaurants. Not too far from Loop 101. which goes everywhere.

Very relaxing with a beautiful spa, great gym and wonderful pools. Fascinating geography with the rocks (boulders) and desert vegetation. First class!

As I travel for business often, I expected this property to be significantly more impressive and comfortable than most as the price was more than double. While I did appreciate the friendly staff and well-maintained grounds / walking path, the room itself was underwhelming. The biggest disappointment was after an appreciated friendly reminder (at check in) that I had a $50 credit to use...and to be sure to charge meals to the room so credit can be given. Unfortunately, when I checked out, there was no credit applied.

The resort was excellent. However, the rooms are away from the main lodge. They are accessed by carts that are very quick. It is also a short enough walk that can be enjoyed along with the Arizona weather. The staff were very helpful, and appear to get to know the guest very quickly. We were surprised how each time we went someplace and came back they remembered where we went, and inquired how our dinner/ hike/ etc went. This is about 7 miles north of Scottsdale with not a lot of services nearby. But that is a reason we enjoyed the quiet, secluded location. We will return for sure.

We had an absolutely marvelous time ringing in the New Year at a local restaurant. We had spent the previous summer in the area and remembered the restaurant as wonderful, so we opted for that rather than The Boulders. But when we returned, The Boulders had a wonderful group playing absolutely marvelous dance music. That helped to make the New Years special, along with a couple of wonderful margaritas and nice wine. By the way, The Boulders touts itself as a Hilton property.

I enjoyed my stay a lot. The combination of spa, walking, and just relaxing was perfect. about 10 days before Christmas, it was noticeably quiet, but in a very nice way. The rooms are really quite nice.

We were impressed from start to finish. The resort is beautiful--lovely to look at from the room balcony or to take a walk. Our meals (dinner at the Spotted Donkey and breakfast at the main resort dining room) were fabulous. The wood burning fireplace in each room is a real treat. The service was superb. We'd certainly return to The Boulders again.

My new favorite vacation spot. Romantic, lovely and a true get away!

Spent a weekend playing golf - the room was perfect, quiet & reasonablly priced. Ate at the main restarunt, food was very good. Very close to all 6 of teh courses we played. Getting to the room is only via golf cart thru staff bell, a little slow when you want to get to your room - but never had to wait when we called for pcik up at room. As we say - its a do over in future trips to the area.

Very good but tub wasn't clean or maids hair was in tub so couldn't take a bath.

Really enjoyed the stay but can be a little limiting because all of your travel must be arranged through the front desk. Essentially you are eating at restaurants only at the resort. The room was a little disappointing because the screen door was off its hinges when we arrived and some of the fencing around the balcony was missing. For the nightly rate, I would expect everything to be perfect for your arrival. They did offer to switch our room and quickly however. The view was awesome and somewhat made up for the oversight.

beautiful location , great golf course , good customer service.bath was dirty ,old wood balcony , refridgerator had bad smell.location and veiws made up for down points.

Yes, the place is amazing. However, even better than that is the amazing service!

Fabulous views, great friendly service, spacious and comfortable rooms, super amenities.....a 5+ star experience

I thought the place would be more spread out, that the rooms would be spaced further apart, that it would have more than one pool, that the rooms would be set into the mountainside. I found the front desk personnel great. The guys who shuttle you to and from the parking lot are not located at the parking lot. Your choice is park and walk to them or use them as valets, leaving your key with them each time. The maid did excellent work; the bed was great. The bathroom was constructed such that if one person was using the toilet the closet, makeup mirror, sinks, bath and shower were unaccessible. It's near Carefree and Cave Creek, a big bonus. The pool was nice.

Our room was fabulous. A separate single story end unit. A bit of a walk from the main lodge but very private. Afternoon drinks on the balcony were perfect. Our room was clean, large and comfortable. Shower was small but adequate in a really big and quite luxurious bathroom. Staff were helpful, available but not intrusive. If you aren't there for golfing, you will need a car as there didn't appear to be much within walking distance. We would definitely stay there again.

This resort is heavenly! Beautiful landscaping and course. Our room was on the 5th green and it was fun to sit on the patio in the morning and watch. The room was spacious and cozy with a fireplace and marble bath. The spa was fantastic and the workout facility was great. There are three pools, tennis and golf. Also, a sunset look out. The service was impeccable. We did not use the restaurants. This is convenient to the Scottsdale airport and a 40 min drive from the Phoenix airport. If you want to splurge, this is the place!

Everything about The Boulders was awesome, they checked us in early, the room was HUGE! The staff were super friendly, fast when you needed a ride, and very helpful!

You can't ask for better

Amazing stay!! Staff was incredible from the valet to the front desk. Beautiful location. Took walking trails to take some beautiful photography. Perfect staycation for a local getaway. Very relaxing!! Looking forward to our next stay there :)

We were very pleased with the hotel and very friendly staff. We went out for dinner to Mastro's and the hotel concierge had arranged a complimentary dessert for us. That was a very nice surprise. The only complaint was the daily resort fee. It was explained that it was for tips for the golf cart drivers that took you back and forth to your room,valet parking and housekeeping. Even though that was a nice service, we would rather have parked our own car and saved the fee.

Excellent, very relaxing and fun place to stay at.

I was not sure what to expect, the web site was limited. This was the most amazing desert experience. From the time you drive in the gate the whole way back the 1 mile drive to the lodge, you are entering a world of natural beauty. As I started out the first day to the pool I encountered a family of wild Havelinas with 1 babies, then as I looked at the 100' high boulders at the pool a humming bird came and took the nector from a cactus. The casitas were way beyond my expectation of a room. If you have the chance do not miss this gem!!

The Boulders was a nice location for celebrating our 24th anniversary. The scenery around the resort is stellar for being in the desert!!! I loved that we could call for someone to pick us up in a golf cart to take us wherever we wanted to go on the resort when it was just too hot to walk. And, the best part was that the guys didn't seem to mind. The extra resort fee that had to be paid up front was suppose to go towards tipping too so that was nice that we didn't have to think about extra tipping each time we caught a ride. The only negetives in my mind were that the room was too bright at night because of the outdoor lighting shining through the plantation shutters. There still needs to be black out curtains. Also, I wish I had brought along some sodas to put in our fridge because there are no vending machines on property and getting a coke from the bar cost a lot and they wouldn't sell you a can - only a plastic cup. The bed was to die for though!!! I want a bed just like the one I slept on there. It was one of the 3 most comfortable I have ever slept on. We had a great time!

I know this hotel is a little bit older, but the creaks and sounds of the guests above us were more than I expected. Every footstep was heard loud and clear, then they also decided to slide their patio furniture around at 6:00am and it sounded like a freight train. While standing in the bathroom they were also using the restroom above us and there was no mistaking that! If you decide to stay here just make sure you either upgrade to a single unit or get the second floor! Also the rooms are supposed to be non smoking, but I guess it is allowed on the patio, because I opened the patio door and it was worse than a pool hall. So we were confined to the room unless we wanted to smoke right along with them! Nice service, but again choose wisely.
