Hotel Royal - جنيف

This hotel looks like it offers top class rooms on the website but the standard room which i had was actually quite expensive and it was good but not great. You can probably do better on a standard rooms elsewhere. Gym small. Restaurant was very good, great steaks, service at the front desk also v helpful

I found the hotel accessible and presentable to esteemed government official. The surroundings seems peaceful in general and the rooms are spacious and clean. i am thinking of staying there again in my visit to geneva comes this June-July

Dinner room service was good but the breakfast service was terrible, we did not get what we ordered and had no time to rectify the position and at at a high cost, this is disappointing. Also, the car park fee was very nearly a quarter of the cost of the room for barely 12 hours parking. We have stayed at the Manotel a number of times and always been very pleased but this is probably going to be our last time.

Loved this hotel, excellent rate, lovely room if a little on the small side but for Geneva excellent value for money. Room and bathroom were well furnished and spotlessly clean. Free wifi as well. Only slight niggle is that there was not enough tea/coffee with the kettle. Great location, very near main train station which is only 5 minute ride to the airport. 15 minute walt to the lake but they give you a free local transport card so you can go by tram too. Overall highly recommended.

A very pleasant stay at the Royal. This has been my experience every time I have stayed there. Booked a superior room and was upgraded to an executive room.

This hotel was a very definite dissapointment. From the pictures on their site which must have been taken at a different location, as the hotel looks nothing like them, to the 30 minuutes it took to get the car out of the super expensive garage this hotel was a disastrous choice. It is in a relatively nasty neighborhood, very close to the red light district, & has zero ambience nor style. The spa is a miniturized joke with a view of the rail road tracks - fortunately we skipped breakfast as CHF 30 for poor food & service seemed beyond the pail. Highly recommend you look elsewhere for your Geneva lodgings.

The hotel Royal is conveniently located nearby the Cornavin train station. Even more so, a tram stop (Môle) lies just in front of the hotel. The hotel delivers what it promises but in an uneven manner. The most irritating was the low quality of the internet connection (it worked only after the 5th consecutive attempt and only in certain parts of the room). Clearer signage would be necessary in the room providing the irons (these devices, although universally known, vary greatly from one region to another in terms of functioning). The help of the cleaning personnel was very much appreciated. The breakfast was not included in the price, which was a slightly unpleasant surprise at the check-out. This should to be clearly stated, as the breakfast is not living up to its (over)price. Special praise deserves the hotel personnel that made a short business stay into a very pleasant one. I might choose the same hotel when back in town, but I will probably avoid the breakfast.

The hotel was very comfortable and in a great location, less than a five minute walk (or one tram stop) from the train station. The room was comfortable -- though a bit cold. The only down side was that I arrived very early and was unable to get into my room for about 5 hours...and despite me asking 3 or 4 times for them to tell me when the room was ready, they did not alert me when it was. Nonetheless, I would stay here again without reservation.

Close to train station & Co-Op. Tram no. 13 and 15 stop in front of the hotel.

We found the staff at the Le Royal to be first class. They were helpful in every way possible from taking our luggage to our room (and we had a lot), parking our cars, arranging a restaurant booking outside the hotel and general help around the hotel.

This is OK hotel at a good location. there is a tram stop right in front of it. Air conditioning has some problems otherwise OK hotel

I am taking the time to write this review because looking for a hotel in Geneva in a difficult task. Many hotels look similar online, and you cant judge by looking at it on Google Maps etc. This hotel works. Firstly, the location is fabulous. Right beside the train station (thus 15 mins to airport). I really enjoyed my stay in The Royal. The desk staff were friendly and welcoming with a good grasp of English which made everything very easy. The room was at the front of the hotel and was very comfortable. The foyer is very spacious and nicely furnished with several interesting flower arrangements etc.. Internet connection and printing is free also..an added bonus.. Catherine

Very friendly and helpful staff. There was a marked difference between the single room I stayed in during my first stay and the double room I stayed in more recently. The single felt opulent and very inviting while the double was very average business standard - possibly older and newer wings of the hotel ? Foyer very smart. Otherwise, the common areas are a little tired. Very convenient for the station, the station side of Geneva and the lake. Good value for money.

Staff is very friendly and helpful and genuinely desiring to serve. Rooms are neatly appointed if somewhat small, but ok by most European Std. Sauna and Steam were comfortable. Breakfast is good. Neighborhood gets a little shakey at night but the location is very convenient to trainstation and a seven minute walk to the lake front. Very good value for money.

Realy can't believe the other 5 star reviews! I most have stayed at a different hotel! The only good news was the staff was polite, but then I was only there for one night. I was lucky...

The Royal is a great location for a stay in Geneva. It is right off the tram line and is a very comfortable hotel. The bath/shower is comfortable as well but needs a shower curtain so that water doesn't hit the floor.

Lovely hotel, near to station and within walking distance of the old town. Room was upgraded upon arrival which is always good!

Very helpful staff, Very near to the train station. Many restaurants, bars and clubs are beside the hotel

The hotel is situated at the other side of the train station further from the centre ville. It is convenient to go to the train station but needs quite a long walk to go to the Old Town. It has nice but small sauna and gym that overlook the train station.

Beautifiul hotel but be aware that breakfast is not included in the bookin so it is quite expensive. Saying that the room was lovely and the breakfast was great. lovely fresh food etc

We stayed just for one nigth on our way back home from Avoriaz. The hotel was really well located and close to the train station and 10 minutes walk to the city center; on another hand the stay in the hotel was not good. When we tried to do the check-in the room wasn't ready and we have to wait till 15h. There were some misunderstanding beetween the reception workers and we have to explain many times that we were waiting for the room to be ready. The room was clean, but they forgot to clean the waste so seems that they don't really do a full check o clean. They give us a room that was on the front of the lift and was really noisy. We couldn't change. The bathroom was good and spacious. The room was very little and the door of the room was really close to the door of the bath and to the bed. It was difficult open the baggage inside the room. Don't know about the other rooms of the hotel but our stay was not confortable at all, and we have bad luck with the room. I wouldn't go back, or at least I'll ask about the room in advance. Roberto.

The room was very nice but as it was overlooking the main street the traffic was too noisy to be able to keep the window open and as the room was very hot, even in March, it was a bit uncomfortable sleeping at night. Air conditioning didn't seem to work.

Through hotels.com, this venue seemed very good value indeed. It has all the hallmarks of a 4-star hotel.

The hotel was very nice. The service was excellent and staff very friendly and helpful. We were given free tram passes. The tram stops directly in front of the hotel. It's only a few stops to museums, sightseeing, etc. Also, it's less then 5 min. walking to the main train station. Breakfast was included and very good. The didn't charge for the kids.

This hotel stinks. I mean that literally. From the first moments of arrival when I was hit with bad smells from the restaurant, to my overnight in a rancid-smelling smoking room (my reservation was for a non-smoking room, BTW) this was a bad olfactory experience. I travel a lot for business and so I have seen a lot of hotels, ranging from inexpensive chain hotels to the Ritz in London. If you stay at an inexpensive hotel with fewer stars your expectations are calibrated to that. If you stay at a more expensive four-star hotel, your expectations are calibrated to that. It is a matter of preference and budget. But this is a supposedly four-star hotel in Geneva that lacks the cleanliness and room-quality standards of a two star hotel in Omsk. Take note: I did not arrive late and I was clear about having a non-smoking room. I was polite and I think the staff was as well--but the room was a bummer at the price I paid. I think that you can do much better in Geneva; I was foolish to let the photos and the star-rating deceive me. Caveat emptor.

Hotel was adequate, but neighborhood was a bit sketchy (especially at night). Also, hotel a bit away from the old part of Geneva, where one would want to be. It is near the train station, but nothing else.

It is easy to go wrong in Geneva, as some travelers find themselves too close to the red light block for comfort. This wonderfully appointed hotel has a tram stop right in front and is close enough to the restaurants and other attractions to be convenient, without being situated in the somewhat hectic area between the train station and the lake.

Convenient downtown location within walking distance of many restaurants, sights, and attractions. Linkage with other Geneva hotels give wide dining selection.

Lovely hotel, really comfortable and convenient..We had booked 1 twin-bedded room and we were up-graded at no cost to one double room each. Hotel provided free travel pass which e used a lot on Geneva's public transport. All the staff were polite, friendly and helpful

We had been unable to contact the hotel to make changes to the reservation at the last minute and while we appreciated their policy they weren't very pleasant about the problem or showed any sensitivity. Given their star rating we might have expected a little more diplomacy. We had reserved (and paid extra) for 3 adults and the room was cramped and had a broken pull out couch for the 3rd adult. We requested a change and they added a camp bed making it more cramped and still not comfortable. We thought they had rather a snooty atmosphere generally.

Hotel interior was very nice and staff were helpful and friendly. Hotel room equipped with Nespresso coffee maker. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Right in the middle of town, 3 minutes walk to Geneva station. Very convenient, although the area, like a lot of central locations, is a bit rough - graffiti, groups of kids and random women loitering the streets.

Almost everything was wonderful - location, service, breakfast, etc., but I had a room in the back facing the train station - very loud. Better to ask to face the strreet.
