Slightly removed from main restaurants and shopping. But a fantastic hotel with loads of amenities, beautiful beach and nice pools. We loved our room.

The stay was wonderful. Kipton chain is always so inviting and because I have two Greyhounds, it is the Hotel of choice when it comes to Pets. The staff is very accommodating to both humans and pets. The grounds and interior are always clean and comfortable, even with pets. The location, if you want the action of South Beach, is in the heart of it all.

We stayed here intra week from Tuesday to Friday in April. At less than 300 a night, its a good deal.We stayed in a regular king room. It was cute, comfortable and clean. The hotel had good food served on beach and hotel staff were friendly. Location is great, will definitely stay here again.

The Surfcomber is in the perfect location if you are going to the convention center on business but also want to relax on the beach. Service and food impeccable.

We stayed one night in Miami before our flight home and our stay at the Surfcomber made us wish we had spent more time in Miami. The hotel is centrally located, not far from Lincoln Road. Driving into Miami Beach is neither quick nor easy. Once your there, though, you can park the car and forget it. The hotel has great access to a wonderful beach, with chairs and towels for guests. The resort fee, clearly becoming a standard add-on, is a bit pricey for what they offer, but they did credit back a portion if you ate or drank in the hotel.

Great service, the beach was prestine, food and drinks great. Can't wait to come back!!!

But the room was very small with a "city" view of a concrete wall.

Location is hard to beat for the price. but service was lackluster. would stay again.

I was extremely pleased and would be thrilled to stay at the Surfcomber again. The location was ideal - right on the beach, just steps from the Ritz Carlton and Lincoln Rd. Mall. The lobby, restaurants and pool areas were lovely - chic decor - coffee, infused water, and hot cocoa for guests at appropriate times. The pool was very warm, which was great, given the chilly wind blowing from the ocean. The restaurants were excellent and the poolside service, in particular, was very good. The front desk staff were also extremely helpful. The rooms were also nicely decorated, but small - especially the bathrooms - and especially for a family (I traveled alone with my two daughters, ages 12 and 9) - the price of staying at a "boutique" hotel - would not necessarily deter me in the future, however. And the clientele was varied - couples, straight and gay, families, groups of women traveling alone, business and leisure travelers. My only real disappointment was the gym - which had three pieces of cardio equipment, one of which was broken, facing a wall - and some weights and a weight bench for men.

The overall experience was okay, but not awesome. The rooms were small. There was an event going on at the pool and the chaos of that was not fun. Plus for my guests to get to go to the event, there was a $140 charge.. Plus I had to pay a pool fee, yet couldn't enjoy the pool bc of the event. Would probably not stay there again mainly because the rooms were soooooo small, etc..

Amazing all around..small rooms but amazing

The service at this hotel is exceptional. The staff went out of there way to make sure everything was perfect. There was a private party going on during winter music festival that prevented use of the pool, but we were accommodated nicely at a neighboring hotel. This has become my first choice hotel for South Beach.

i was very satisfied with my stay

The only thing good about this hotel is the proximity to Lincoln Road. Bad experience with event/event staff going on at hotel. Guests were treated terribly while people coming to event were treated like royalty. Other poor items, phone in room didn't work, no room service menu in room, were told at 3 different times to eat across the street at Maxine's instead of at the hotel (only front bar open), could not use the pool the entire time, complained to staff about above items, nothing ever done about it and were charged the resort fee daily when amenities could not be used. Will never stay at again.

friendly and efficient staff, stunning, funky hotel

I came here for a weekend with my bf. We were both very impressed with the quality of the service. Everyone from the front desk to the beach attendants were incredibly nice and helpful. The hotel has little amenities that are great (sunscreen by the pool, water and fruit everywhere, rental bikes, etc) The rooms are a bit small, but we were comfortable, the bartenders were excellent. Overall, immaculate service, great location. Would def be staying here again on my next trip to south beach

The service and assistance from the entire hotel staff was exceptional. They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and at ease. the pool and grounds are lovely and the vibe at the hotel is mellow and sophisticated. We really enjoyed our stay. The only issue was our room which had a humm from the air conditioner in the building next door. Everything else was great.

This hotel is in a great location and family friendly. We had great service and enjoyed the laid back atmosphere

The staff could not have done more to keep us happy and relaxed during the last leg of our honeymoon. From the room upgrade and complimentary bottle service to the afternoon cocktail party -- Surfcomber rises above the others, bar none. The pool was a perfect oasis to waste away the morning or reach to in the afternoon. We highly recommend it if you are looking for a great boutique experience right on the beach. Thanks!

Hotel location and amenties were great. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The hotel was nice, clean/well maintained and the staff was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the weather was cold and windy, fortunately the hotel was located very close to shops, beach and other sights. The hotel is fairly small and intimate, so if the weather doesn't cooperate not many activities for the kids.

No hot tube which I think is a really big deal

Nice Hotel, good value, fun & trendy feel. Pretty & upscale room although small. Great service at front desk but that's where it ended. Pool servers kept forgetting about our orders. Nice but very "forgetful" & disorganized. Similar to other South Beach boutiques and overall fine value for price as compared with some others. Prime location to walk to Lincoln Road restaurants & shopping. A fun overnight. Only big criticism aside from service at pool was construction going on beach which no one revealed on website or upon arrival.

We stayed here for a long weekend, intending to just relax and enjoy the nice weather and surroundings, and were very happy with our stay. We spent much of our time by the pool, which is a good size if you like to swim and there are plenty of places to lounge. The service was great in every regard (front desk, restaurant/bar, pool, etc). We enjoyed breakfast and lunch by the pool, had delicious drinks made by knowledgeable bartenders, and were happy to see that the bar (out and in) was more focused on good drinks in a relaxed but hip environment, rather than a loud, jammed club thing. Next time we're in Miami, we'll definitely stay here.

The staff was fabulous. They let us check in early and were very friendly throughout the stay. The pool was great with lemon water and soft towels provided. Very close to the beach. The only complaint was the cost of the food. $25 for a hot dog and chicken strips. A little crazy.

We had a trouble in another hotel and we had to book for "tonight" using wifi somewhere... The next thing we know is that we had a nice stay at the surfcomber! The room we had was a bit small but very clean! The staff is always smiling and they were very nice, always looking to serve.

Watch out for rooms on the street if you go to bed early, but an excellent, clean place to stay with a heated 24 hour pool!

Hotel has outstanding service. From checking in at the front desk to lounging at the pool. A special thanks to Bryan at the pool. He provided excellent service. Room are small but we didn't spend much time in the room. The walls are very thin and you can hear voices in the next hotel room. Also, the water pipes are very loud in the building. When others are using the water there is a very loud radeling sound. It lasts about a couple minutes. Other then these two issues everything was great.

best palce to stay with kids. It was clean and safe. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Watch out they tell you that you have a fridge in room, but then they bring it up and charge 10 each day. THey did remove the charges when I told them of concerns. Great Place and nicely heated pool!!!

The hotel was so ideally located for all the best Miami sights. The staff were very friendly and the hotel was very clean and well designed. The concierge was also really helpful in sorting out our New Year arrangements. The only really minor down-side was not being able to extend our room as we had a late flight home but the hotel was full... I would recommend it to anyone.

Years ago I stayed on Miami Beach in a hotel that looked good from the front but was a disaster inside. So I am always skeptical of staying at a hotel I am unfamiliar with. The Surfcomber, a Kimpton Hotel, was just what I was looking for! First off, its in a great location (next door to SLS and down the block from The W, The Delano, and near Lincoln Road). The rooms were modern and clean. The private pool was wonderful as was the private beach access. The staff was courteous and friendly! The gym was small but the equipment was in good condition. They provided coffee & tea (Mighty Leaf brand) as well as the usual Kimpton wine happy hour from 5pm to 6pm where they provide comp wine. There is also a good restaurant on the premises and a hotel bar in the front which closes at 11:30pm. The only possible complaint is that the standard room I was in was not the most spacious but it was still very comfortable. BTW, I did not find the resort noisy at all even with the popular Hyde Beach right next door. Everything I wanted was satisfied!! I will certainly be staying there again and would recommend the Kimpton brand to all!!

The bed was extremely comfortable. Rooms are small (and very small bathroom). The staff is great. Good coffee in the morning and hot chocolate at night. Drinks are expensive but this is true for South Beach in general. The location is fantastic (short walk to Lincoln, Ocean Drive and bike station on property to explore Sofi!).

We have stayed at 3 different hotels in SoBe and this is now our favorite. Very laid back atmosphere. Families, couples, straight, gay, lesbian. All nationalities. Comfortable room. Pool area is outstanding. Pool staff including food/drink and towel/chair service are all extremely helpful and accommodating. All kinds of special activities and events including free wine, sports, beach service (not free chairs). Coffee and hot chocolate, live music, etc... Location is outstanding since we love Lincoln St. Hotel food is good. Will definitely be our place to stay in SoBe

Hotel staff was so professional. Very clean and close to Lincoln street. Also right on the ocean. Clean pool area and awesome wine nights

If you want to be bombarded by music from 10:00 am to abou 11:30at night this is the place for you. If you want to relax, find another hotel.

Outstanding service and perfect location. Will always stay here when in Miami Beach.

Great service and locations, couldn't have asked for more! Right in the mix, next to the SLS hotel and all the great spots in South Beach. Had a great weekend here and would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in South Beach!
