K&K Hotel Fenix - براغ

If you don't mind walking past burlesque 'joints' to get to the hotel (especially at night) crowded with men 'hanging out' ...the hotel had a lot of wonderful amenities to offer. I was also misled by the term 'airport shuttle' - I thought it was a free shuttle but price was over the top. Fortunately I got the pricing before I departed from the States and found a great service for l/2 the price.

Despite being a bit more than I was hoping to pay (I planned my trip on the late side) I was very happy with the hotel. There is a huge breakfast buffet with nice food. The staff was really great and friendly. One day I needed an adapter, but unfortunately other guests were already using the ones from the desk. I had been planning on asking the next evening, when one of the employees saw me coming out of the breakfast room and hurried over to give me an adapter that another guest had just returned. This was a small thing, but thoughtful and appreciated. The restaurant is a bit overpriced but fine if you need it. The only problem I had was with the mattress, which was pretty thin and because of this not the most comfortable. Even with this I would still recommend this hotel.

The hotel is overall good. Room is quite small but clean. Breakfast is good. Staff is very helpful, probably the best thing about the hotel. Location is convenient because it is close to the old town. However, the street itself is a bit dodgy. There are some cassinos and semi naked women dancing on the windows at the evenings. Another downside is that it is allowed to smoke in the bar, so the whole reception stinks of cigarrete smoke.

I always stay here when I go to Prague. It's very reasonable for the excellent quality, breakfast is great, the staff is professional - it really is the best.

On the plus side: Good hotel, very close to everything. Excellent breakfast. Super clean Nice massage/relax/wellness area On the minus side: Small rooms. Did not get robes even after asking for them (and we had massages booked!) Confused and a bit rude night staff. WIFI not stable in the room. 3 stripclubs on the street of the hotel but it did not disturb us at all.

located not far from the metro this hotel proved to be a very good base point for our trip to prague. hotel is immaculate and staff very helpful and welcoming. breakfast was well prepared and guests well looked after by the waiting staff. overall very impressed with our stay.

I thoroughly recommend this hotel. The staff are so helpful and polite, the hotel itself is fabulous, very comfortable, extremely clean and just a pleasure to be in. The breakfast was wonderful with something for everyone. We liked the hotel so much we looked forward to going back to it after a days sightseeing. Don't be deterred from staying here by the fact that there are two adult entertainment clubs very close by. Whilst they are not discreet they didn't hassle us and we didn't hear any noise at all. The location of the hotel is great too. everything is within easy walking distance. I will definitely be recommending the K & K Hotel Fenix to everyone I know and I will try to go back to Prague in summer and will be looking forward to stay in this hotel again. It is fabulous *****

Positives: EXCELLENT LOCATION! the hotel is on a side street only a few meters from Wenceslas Square (pretty much walking distance to most tourist areas of the city; I took the metro only once just because it was raining); only a few minutes walk to pick-up areas for out of town tours. The hotel itself is well maintained and had an excellent choice of breakfast (miss it already!) - one of the best in this kind of European hotel. Staff are very helpful and not rude at all. NEGATIVES: 2 strip clubs next to it, but just say no to the workers/bouncers and they will not bother you. the elliptical machine needs to be fixed.

I must have stayed here 10 times by now. I always go back. It's good quality, reliable. One of the much better places in Prague.

It is actually a great hotel, and yes it is in the red light district of Prague. So I would not recommend it to families or older couples. If you are a young couple who is going to be out anyway or a group of friends, this place is perfect. The breakfast is great by European standards (I have learned not to expect much) Call ahead to see if you can reserve parking in their garage, otherwise it is about a 5 to 10 minute walk.

The Hotel is well located with its own garage and the staff are polite and efficent. All in all a good hotel but the only problem is the roooms and bathrooms are on the small side. There is a lot of competion in the area with many hotels in the area. For the same price you can get an equally as good hotel but with a room that is bigger. Look around on the web. Either K&K would have to make the rooms bigger or reduce there prices before I stay again.

This was the first time I stayed in a K+K Hotel and was very impressed. The service was good, the facilities were good and the inclusive breakfast (including Champagne) was also of a high standard. Would not hesitate to book with this chain again.

modern hotel in the city centre. Staff were excellent and room reasonable size fresh and clean. Good choice of food for breakfast. They do not have a evening resturant but staff will advise you of a good resturant to go to. It is only a few minutes walk to the city centre square and 15 minutes walk to the Old town square. If you are looking for a nice hotel to stay at close to city centre you can not go pass this hotel. Enjoyed my stay here.

Great hotel, wonderful staff, good food, just seedy neighborhood even though we did not have any problems, was a little further from train than others we stayed in but overall good.

We chose this hotel based on people's reviews, and were extremely satisfied.It is well positioned for Wencelas Boulevard (2 mins away) and within walking distance for the Old Town, Charles Bridge and other top attractions. But get the tram to visit the Castle area. Breakfast is absolutely fabulous and can be enjoyed at leisure. One slight drawback was a couple of "girlie clubs" in the street-these did not bother us being a married couple. Search around for some lovely restaurants.

I enjoyed my stay at k&k as it was very convenient and right next to the city center in the old town. The hotel was very modern and friendly staff. My only negative is that the hotel is situated next to two strip clubs and each time you walk by workers at the strip joints try to haggle you as you walk near. I recommend this hotel for anyone who wants to ne in the location of the older part of the city.

Extremely helpful and friendly staff; good breakfast buffet, clean and comfortable. Amenities include daily newspapers in several language, use of computers and printer, coffee in lobby.

Great hotel in convenient location, friendly staff. room spacious & very clean with good and quiet air conditioning. Our room was facing the road and we we concerned that there would be a lot of noise from the near by 'clubs' but no problem at all. Our only slight issue was we were down for breakfast late, 10am ish and the food was running out and the staff we reluctant to replenish.

I stay at this hotel whenever I visit Prague. It's always an enjoyable stay. The rooms are clean, the staff is friendly, and it has a huge selection for its inclusive breakfast. All at a very reasonable rate. I have and still do, recommend this hotel to friends who are travelling to Prague.

This is my 3rd year staying at the Fenix. It is a great hotel... especially for the business traveler. Would highly recommend it. The breakfast buffet is the best I had on my recent trip and it comes with the room. Location is one block off of the main shopping street. This block is the 1 block of red light district joints. You only pass 2 clubs on your way to hotel. Nobody bothers you... unless you are overly sensitive (and if that is the case... you should just stay home and live in your little cocoon) it is not a problem. You can walk to everything (sights) from here.

arrived at hotel,reception asked if we'd like a quiet room,the answer was yes .we got a quiet room on the ground floor- perfect. the room was a little small but that's OK we only used the room for sleeping. the continental breakfast was superb,liked the coffee ,like rocket fuel!! the staff were always polite and extremely helpful, booking whatever we needed from reception. i would definitely stay there again! our room price did include the gym and sauna facilities but to be honest we didn't get an opportunity to use them as we were too busy exploring Prague. the hotel is on an interesting street with two sex clubs next door, one one each side of the road. We had no trouble strolling past i the early hours ,not threatening or scary at all. the hotel is in a good central location and everywhere is within walking distance. thanks again K&K Fenix

Clean spacious rooms, bright large bathroom, good breakfast buffet and a short walk to main stream Prague. Helpful staff and very international feel hotel. Thoroughly recommend it

This is the kind of hotel that cares about small details, and this can make a huge difference. We always found small chocolates in our room, and were received with a nice wine bottle and fresh fruits at our arrival. The hotel is nicely located, all is very clean and modern, and there is a very nice sauna. The free wireless internet, and the excellent breakfast have to be mentioned. I would definitely recommend it.

Very friendly staff, all spoke English. The complimentary breakfast has everything you need to get your day started. Used the laundry service and my clothes were hung up and placed in my room the same day. Don't take a taxi from train station total rip off. The hotel is 1 block away from the museum metro station. Use the metro to navigate the city whenever possible.

Everything about the hotel was fine, but the location was very noisy near late night strip show and sports bar.

Stayed in the hotel over 3 nights for a long weekend. Room was clean, hotel organised. Staff helpful for tourist questions. Breakfast was busy at certain times but always found a table - breakfast served till 12 sat/sun made for a good excuse for a lie-in. Near enough to the centre of town to walk. Cabaret clubs next door are colourful but did not hear a mouse squeak from them at night in room.

This hotel is close to everything! Close to the subway and the main strip. The hotel is very clean and the staff is very helpful. They will have Wi-Fi on all the upper floors...right now you have to go to the lobby to get free Wi-Fi. The breakfast was good, too! I would definitely stay here again!

Very nice hotel, good hot breakfast included in the room rate. Location is very convenient, 2 minutes walking to famous Winceslas Square. Hotel is quiet despite in a busy neighborhood.

This hotel has great rates and provides a lot. There is a great free breakfast buffet, and free internet/wifi. The staff speaks English and is very friendly. The hotel is well kept and the room was cleaned well daily. The location is next to the Museum metro stop, and is very convenient to all the tourist spots in Prague, most are walkable if you like. I would recommend this hotel.

We were a group of 5 mature women on a break in Prague, we were all delighted with the hotel. Everything went very well when we booked in I was given a room on the first floor and all the others were on the second floor. My room was the smallest although perfectly formed. I requested a room on the same floor as my friends and I ended up in a fantastic room at the front of the hotel. The street the hotel is on has at least two men's clubs but I heard nothing. The breakfast was very good and the staff were all very helpful and friendly. The Hotel is positioned very well and we were able to walk to most of the main attractions. We got a tram to the Castle and Cathedral the tickets were purchased at the hotel. If we go to any of the other cities where there is a K&K Hotel we will certainly stay again.

Booked the K&K Hotel Fenix based on previous experience with the K&K chain - and while this is certainly a fine hotel - it is not on-par with many other K&K hotels. The staff was efficient and helpful - as was expected - and the car service arranged by the desk was prompt and economical. Breakfast was just ok. The furnishing are showing some wear and tear but the rooms were very clean and comfortable. Ignore the negative comments regarding the clubs on the same street. Security was high, noise was at a minimum - and the door men are friendly as you pass. Location is great - just around the corner from the Národní Muzeum and the metro, and walking distance to Sauna Babylonia and the Old Town.

very good hotel great location dont be offput by comments about bars nearby , never heard any noise and had no hassle from people o/s clubs to go on, if you say no they leave you alone, great hotel, clean rooms, good food

First class 4 star hotel with 5 star touches. Excellent value in the heart of the city within easy walking distance of all sights - Aldstadt, Charles Bridge, Wenceslas Square just round the corner. Wonderful breakfast with lots of choice. Friendly staff and easy, secure underground parking. We will certainly try K&K hotels in other cities.

A well located hotel which was modern with a very attentive staff. I felt safe in this hotel. The morning breakfast was typical European with the addition of scrabbled/hard boiled eggs. This was a bonus! A nice/small workout area downstairs with a wonderful sauna.The rooms are small, yet modern.comfortable and functionable

Wonderful,staff go out of their way to be helpful breakfast is truly a feast and no pressure to hurry; complimentary coffee in the bar. Rooms are spotless and access to internet easy. Reception staff are helpful and offer advice on any visits. English was excellent. I will go back and have already recommended the hotel to all of my friends who want to visit Prague, which is an amazing city.

The hotel could not be in a better location, even if it is right next to two large caberets. As a solo male traveler, I found the location quite conveinent. Free wifi in the lobby and breakfast area, as well as computers available for use were great. The breakfast was just what I would have wanted, good food and all you can drink champagne. When I visit Prague again, there is no doubt that I will stay at K&K Hotel Fenix.

Incredible hotel, awesome neighborhood, convenient to trains. 4 stars.

Nice things first. This hotel has a great location. It is within walking distance to anywhere in Prague. The rooms are decent sized, and the bathrooms are pleasant. Breakfast was included with our room and offered adequate selections, although quite crowded at some times of the morning. There is free internet, but securing a computer without waiting can be difficult. The staff is friendly, but does have that Eastern European attitude of 'this is the way it is, and I may or may not be doing everything I can to help you.' Now for the not such great things. Upon checking in we were told that we would have to be moved to a different hotel due to technical issues with our room, and then move back to the K&K the following night once things were resolved. After a long day of traveling this did not go over well. Part of the reason to book multiple nights in this location was to not see different hotel rooms, but to not have to pack and repack multiple times. The hotel did provided a car to take us to the other hotel as well as one to return us to the K& K, but we were left waiting close to an hour each time, which is valuable time when traveling. The hair-dryer in our room did not work and we had to request a new one, which was provided, but still the hassle of having to wait for it to be delivered to the room. The keys for the room are large and are to be left at the front desk when you are not physically present in the hotel. This isn't a huge issue, but once again when you return to the hotel you have to go to the front desk, show your room number and retrieve the key. It just consumes time when it isn't really necessary. I would recommend this hotel. I don't think that many have the same first impression of having to move hotels and deal with that hassle, and will find the accommodations quite pleasant.

Don't assume because you're on a side street off of Vaclavske nam that you're getting a quiet location. There are bright neon lights from clubs along the street, with the annoying touts that harass you to enter their establishments each time you try to walk by. (I know that's not the hotel's fault, but it should level the price a bit.) The hotels' spa was the reason I chose this hotel over Julis or Radisson - but it was small and had such restrictive hours (evening only) I didn't even use it. The room itself was clean but very plain (one small picture on the wall above the very small TV screen), with a low bed and overly flat pillows. There was no view out the window. On a positive note, the AC worked great and the breakfast was terrific with many hot and cold choices, and the staff was very pleasant. But for a comparable price, I'd stay in another hotel next time.
