The best experience. Very well located, friendly staff, a very classy hotel.

After a long transatlantic flight it was great to be in a comfortable, well run, hotel but it did not meet the 5-star standard, at least for me. No pool or hot tub, no in-room coffee, very little (visible) bell service. Concierge was acceptable, nothing special. The check-in reception staff was quite helpful and when we requested an adjoining room with our teenage kids and they went out of our way to find us one and even had out bags moved there for us. Unfortunately the doors between the rooms were double locked and there was no way for us to open them (from either room) without keys (which were no where to be found). We were so tired by the time we were going to bed that we didn't even bother to call the front desk for help locating the keys. Oh well, our kids didn't mind their extra privacy :) Let me close with two positive comments about the hotel: it was very elegant and historic looking, nicely maintained AND the location just across the street from the famous PRADO art museum was really wonderful. Also the gorgeous Nepture fountain was right outside the front door. If you get a very good deal on this hotel, go for it, but DO NOT pay top dollar.

Exceeded expectations!!! Superb hotel

This hotel has an excellent location near all the major museums. The lobby was fantastic. Had a premium room but it was a little small for the room charge. Westin beds are always comfortable as was the case here. The bathroom and Shower were also excellent. Hotel service was great. The concierge service was good. I found that the restaurant that they suggested were not up to par. Overall, this is a excellent property to stay at. The beds and shower and location and the fantastic lobby were worth the price.

Very High standard and everything very tasty. Breakfast great, but pricy! Location could not be better and more convenient! View from room could be better, but no noise from the street or in general!

Book this hotel and have no doubt this is a world class hotel. Excellent Service. Concierge is Excellent. Staff is very friendly. Classic Property in Madrid. Close to everything.

This is a very good hotel. Lives up to expectations. We had two guys in one room with a roll away bed and there was plenty of room. Great location as far as touring, next door to Prado. Only negative is food and drink in bar is super expensive, but it's like staying at the Four Seasons. It's next to Spain's equiv. Of Congress so you pay business expense rate.

Very close to Prado museum and train terminal. Very good taxi service at the hotel - doorman got us a taxi in seconds. Many English speaking employees which was very helpful for us.

The hotel was beautiful. I expected more of the staff for places to go, making reservations, etc. They seemed somewhat irritated. There was a a "SCHEDULED" protest by the citizens of Spain. The hotel put a simple statement on the TV. However, they minimized it as it was a protest of over 500 people, stripping, running barricades, etc. The barricades were in front of our hotel, as we were completely closed off. They didn't care nor did they help us get out. I expect more of a 5 Star hotel.

Aside from all of the usual fabulous hotel amenities, the Westin Palace in Madrid went above and beyond during our stay. My son was ill with a fever, they had a doctor at our room within a half an hour. This doctor was experienced, thorough, very smart, and we felt very relieved by the time he gave us prescriptions for medicine. And there was an excellent pharmacy right across the street, too. They also gave us an extremely late check-out time (9:00 pm!) so my son could rest. LOVE LOVE LOVE this hotel.

Beautiful Hotel, very well Located, Excellent restaurant and outstanding Service.

On our trip to Spain my husband and I stayed 3 nights at the Westin Palace in Madrid. We were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful room and the great location. I highly recommend this hotel to whomever is visiting Madrid. We stayed in the Junior Suite, which was huge with a living room, a 1 1/2 bathroom, a huge bedroom and a walking closet. Our view was of the Church across the street and a pretty alley. When we walked in I was so in awe of the beautiful decor and the complementary plate of fruit waiting for us. The bathroom was big with a separate shower and tub. The hotel is gorgeous in the best location in town. The Prado museum is 2 minutes away behind the building, the Nuptune Fountain faces the building and all tourist spots are walking distance that we never needed to use public transportation. The staff was friendly and very helpful, we never got to use room service, but ate at the hotel restaurant and the food was amazing. I recommend trying the Minestrone soup. The only cons is that internet was not complementary and there was some construction or remodeling going on so we heard odd noises in the morning, but not loud enough to wake us up. One bonus tip, if you do not want to use the laundry service in the hotel (which is outrageously high in all hotels in Europe) we found a laundromat 5 minutes walk from the hotel.

The location is perfect and the hotel is quite lovely. Plenty of great places to eat nearby, as the hotel is very pricey for food. The concierge was very helpful in providing a quick overview of the streets nearby and with two of the best museums write there....tough to beat. A fantastic stay.

Very nice sophisticated hotel in the middle of all facilities. The only negative comments are that they charged for Internet in the room (WiFi) and no possibility to make tea or coffee in room. After all, this is a five star hotel!

Our experience was fantastic. SO convenient to everywhere you are likely to want to go. Across the street from the Prado, minutes from most other destinations. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

This is a nice hotel -- not exceptional, but nice, in a good location. The pluses -- beautiful lobby area, comfortable beds, windows that open (although road is not very quiet), nice bathrooms. The negatives -- sparse amenities for a Westin (very skimpy on towels for some reason!, turndown service only on request, no inroom or lobby coffee, etc), VERY expensive to consume anything on premises from a drink, to breakfast to internet service -- Sunday brunch was over 70 euros per person, while weekday breakfast was maybe half that price. We didn't try it, so maybe it was unbelievably special? For me, it was good enough, but I'd probably try a different hotel next time.

All the ingredients for a great hotel are there, but there was a serious flaw. Wi-Fi costs 6 Euro an hour or 20 Euro a day. It is bad enough to be charging outrageous rates for something most hotels provide free. But it is worse that access can be purchased for only one computer per room--so if you are a couple with two smart phones like we were, one of you gets to do without. And worse yet, the system did not work at all with our iPhones. In fairness, after much hassle the hotel did get both of our phones on line with a secret code, and did not charge us during our stay. But that was only after three trips to the front desk on three separate days and way too much haggling. Note to Westin: charging for Wi-Fi in this day and age is bound to be generating far more ill will than revenue. It's time to ditch that policy. Then we will consider recommending your hotel to others.

Fantastic hotel in great location. Staff was most accommodating. They allowed us an early check-in. We were also provided a very nice rollaway bed as requested. Hotel contacted a physician immediately for medical care from Segway injury and showed sincere concern for my condition. Starbucks was right around the corner. Would definitely stay there again!

The Westin is located close to all attractions - the museums, the old city, the big shoping streets, fun bars, restaurants and cafes. The room was very silent and comfortable. The single problem was the cold bathroom and toilet, which were freezing and could not be warmed.

The Palace is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful neighborhood -- walking distance to the Prado and many other must-see sights. The service was excellent, and the staff courteous and efficient. I would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is beautiful, we loved the breakfast area and the rooms are nice. Location is very good. It is not cheep but I think we will go back if & when possible.

The Westin Palace Hotel is located close to all the tourist sights and museums and parks. Walking is easy and neighborhood restaurants are plentiful. We had only one issue with the hotel and that was that the housekeeping staff removed a personal item from our suitcase. The item was not of great value so we did not report it to the management but then the next day it appeared on my bedside table with no explanation of why it was taken or returned. First time I have ever had a problem like this at a hotel.

AC not functinoning properly.One night too hot and the other too cold. After 1 hour 30 minutes of waiting in the room without maintanance showing, the front desk staff said "We have 500 rooms and only one maintance working" with no manager or even assistance manager on duty." Not even an "I am sorry" out of her mouth. Extremely unprofessional for a so called 5 star hotel. The only good memory we have is the breakfast but what good is breakfast when you get no sleep due to heat.

We have stayed here before. There were loose floor tiles in the bathroom, also its door was damaged and some of the painting had chipped away. They need to add more units in the computer room, children tend to stay chatting for long periods and adults can not use the computers as needed. Their staff is superb, all of it! The location is ideal, you can walk to just about anywhere you wish. Try to secure a hotel plan that includes the breakfast buffet, it is truly worth the money. You will enjoy your stay here,..we will return next year to the Palace.

This is a beautiful hotel in an excellent location. The room was clean, comfortable and a very reasonable size. The bathroom was also spacious. The room was well insulated and despite being on a busy street, was very quiet. The staff was absolutely superb! The concierge staff in particular went way out of their way to help us with all our questions, reservations, requests etc. All the staff was extremely pleasant. The food also was excellent.

you cannot beat the location of this hotel, or the grandeur...but DO NOT go with the concierges' recommendations for dinner....sent us to VERY touristy, mediocre restaurants, so disappointing as we only had 2 nights in madrid!

The hotel was in a great location! Directly across from the Prado Museum and located within walking distance to all of the City Center, including the Gran Villa. The room was larger than most you'll find in Europe. It was clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff was easy to communicate with in English and was very helpful making recommendations for dinner. They also took care of all our reservations. The breakfast was a large buffet with more selections than you can eat. *If you are driving yourself, make sure you have a map that shows all the small streets. This will make it easier for you to find the drive up area for the hotel* Thanks for a great stay!

Had no idea about all the construction going on outside the hotel. Ended up walking up and down the block trying to find the entrance even though apparently the doorman saw us get out of the taxi. The breakfast was great and the bed was comfortable. Some days we had better service than other days. Good Location to the Prado and other museums, little far from the shopping and restaurants.

Outstanding location is convenient for all major attractions in Madrid. Rooms are spacious and beds are extremely comfortable. Perhaps the highlight is the excellent staff--kind and always willing to help without the slightest hint of pretentiousness.

The Westin Palace Madrid is a beautiful, well maintained hotel. The staff -(concierge, housekeeping, restaurant personnel, business center) were extremely helpful and pleasant. The business area provides 30 minutes of free internet access, which most times was sufficient, though sometimes I had to wait for one of the 4 PCs. No free internet access in your rooms with your own PC. Breakfast was great. The location was great. The rooms were very comfortable - twin beds larger than those in other European hotels. It was expensive but I felt worth the money and comfort.

The hotel was great, but room service, mini-bar, internet, etc. were extremely expensive. Even the business ctr was pricey.

The Westin Palace was a perfect hotel choice to end a long journey through Italy and Spain. Not only does it have a grand presents in Madrid, it is next to the Paseo Del Prado and convenient to museums, points of interest and shopping areas. Our room was a premium deluxe with two twin beds and I must say the most comfortable beds on our vacation. The room was very quiet and comfortable. Our bathroom was well appointed but the door needs a fresh coat of paint. Our room rate included the breakfast buffet in the spectacular dining hall, with its domed ceiling and tradional furnishings. The buffet was well stocked for European and American tastes. My only complaint is the coffee which needs improvement. We found the staff to be very nice, always with a smile and most spoke english. The conceirge was helpful with recommendations and reservations. Our favorite Restaurant recommendation was the Corral De La Moreria Flamenco- Restaurant. Over all we are very satisfied with the Westin Palace and with the rate that we received through Hotels .com.
