They got all the little extras just right from the lei greeting to seated check in to little smoothie samples throughout the day. Everyone treated us like royalty. The facility is a unique, beautiful oasis in the middle of bustling Waikiki. We can't wait to get back.

We booked the Royal Hawaiian for a special occasion as we wanted the best possible hotel experience. Maybe our expectation of this hotel was too high, but I just can't see what all the fuss is about. The rooms in the old part of the hotel are incredibly average, dark and dingy and reminded me of a roadside motel. Servicing of our rooms was so inconsistent, it became funny after a while. Some days no towels, some days, 8 towels! and my biggest pet-peeve, several days without bottled water, which they are charging you for in the resort fee they have brought in recently. Our experience with the service at this hotel was average at best. We had our child with us and only once out of 8 days did the concierge staff help to lift our stroller down the stairs, one of the days they looked at us directly and continued to talk amongst themselves. The staff at breakfast one morning had a bickering argument when one of the lovely older waitresses had accidentally served our table, the staff member who was allocated our table was furious that the older lady was on her turf and shouted at her in front of us. Don't expect service at breakfast either, they make you wait to be seated even when there a numerous tables free. The hotel foyer is beautiful and the Mai Tai bar fantastic! For the cost of this hotel stay we really were disappointed, it's almost deceiving that the RH has a 5 star rating, I have stayed in a few 5 star hotels in my time and this was by no means even close.

Staying at this hotel is a beautiful experience! One of the oldest & grandest in Hawaii, elegantly retored with open-air common spaces, gardens, spacious rooms & high-end stores. The location is perfect if you want to be in the middle of all Waiki has to offer. Despite being located ON waikiki beach itself, when you walk into the hotel property, the tranquil lobby and common areas make you feel miles away from the bustle of the beach. The pool is small but well maintained with good service, and jacuzzi. pool seating is complementary but cabanas and beach chairs are available for rent. We enjoyed the Luau on Monday night. Set against the beach at sunset, it is more intimate than the huge luaus we heard about elsewhere. There were no bad views. My only complaint about the hotel is that we were taken by surprise at check in by an additional mandatory charge of $35 per person/ per night for "guest services" - which essentially included no additional services. It felt a little like we were being "nickel and dimed" after paying for a very high end hotel. I would have preferred just knowing the actual price of the room when we booked. Staying at this beautiful hotel may be worth the extra cost, but it is certainly not a pleasant surprise for anyone trying to relax - or stay on budget - for their vacation.

SOOO beautiful! Lovely rooms! RIGHT ON the beach, nice beachside restaurants. Beautiful lobby...especially right before Christmas. Great service.

Wonderful in every way. Wouldn't consider staying anywhere else.

This is the classic Waikiki hotel, and it lives up to its reputation as the premier resort on on of the most famous city beaches in the world. We were very happy with all aspects of the resort and staff, and the prime location cannot be beat. We will certainly return again.

From the moment we stepped into the hotel we were extremely impressed with the service, professional and very helpful. The suite was tastefully decorated and being an older hotel the bathroom was small which we were expecting. A little noisy at night especially when a security guard was persistent in requesting a guest turn down their TV, I think he woke up half the floor.Overall a memorable hotel to visit.

This is older hotel , beach front location , how ever rating should only be 4 star at the most . Service desk short of help , only one person , and more customers have to wait . When I check in I ask for twin , but they only have king size bed , but he promised to send extra bed . The extra bed never came . Any way knowing all of this I will book another hotel .

The Royal Hawaiian had the old world feel and architecture I love, not to mention all the shopping you could imagine steps away. It is an iconic location, yet I cant help but feel short changed on the room service. The menu is limited and overpriced! We ordered from room servcie a bottle of vodka listed as 750 ml for $140 instead they gave us a 1 liter bottle at a cost of $465 wihtout mentoning the difference in size or price. We then ordered a second bottle and did not notice the difference until we received a room service bill for over $1,000!!

Beautiful old world charm, right in the middle of Waikiki. It stands alone in a lush oasis of immaculately maintained tropical gardens when all around are high rise hotels. Minutes to the beach and stores on Kalakaua Avenue. Stayed in the old section of the hotel (not the tower), lovely room with a walk in wardrobe, sensational view of Diamond Head, partial view of the beach and the lush gardens. Top class service and very friendly staff, from management to housekeeping. I loved coming "home" after full days of sightseeing and shopping and enjoying a coffee on the verandah. Also has a spa, expensive, but worth it if you need a little pampering. Spoil yourself and stay at The Royal Hawaiian and enjoy the luxury.

This was our second visit to the Royal Hawaiian. We again stayed in a Garden View Room, located in the original building. We considered ‘upgrading’ (at an additional cost) to an ocean view room in an adjacent building, but it lacked the ambiance and luxurious feel of the classic older building, so we reverted to our original Garden View booking. The staff at the Royal Hawaiian have a way of making guests feel special. Whether it’s their greeting, making an outside reservation or a special request in the restaurant (the maitre’d reviewed his records and established of his own accord that we’d dined there two years ago). We wanted to conclude our four week holiday in the United States in style and we were not disappointed.

Spent over a week with family at this hotel and it was great. Location is brilliant, walk to everything, beach setup is good, and the hotel building/ambience is supurb. No access to wi-fi at beach restuarant and beach itself was the biggest drawback, and very annoying.

The hotel was way tooooo expensive for its quality.. We had ants in the room, and the service response to come spray for it was too slow ...Also, we had to pay a mandatory $20 per day for services we did not use, like parking, breakfast for kids and internet...You think with the high rate per day we would have gotten all this for free anyway!!!

Fantastic hotel in all respects - a peaceful and beautiful oasis in otherwise overly-busy Waikiki that oozes Hawaiian tradition without being stuffy. Stayed a week in a junior suite in the original building and loved it. Be sure to get breakfast included. Outstanding food, wide selection, lovely setting and a great value. Have lived in Hawaii and visited many times, but this was my first time in RH - compares very favorablty to the also terrific but more expensive Halekulani. We enjoyed the stay even tho it rained the entire week. Can't wait to go back.

We had a great 10 day stay last year at the Royal and were keen to get back, however we were disappointed this time around. The room we were given was not up to standard of 5 STAR property. We had a smell from bathroom drains, an ant inferstation around the bedside tables and very meager housekeeping service. After 2 nights we were moved to another room which was much better including the housekeeping service. Its disappointing to have to request bottled water when it should be provided and bed turn down service also had to be repeatedly requested?? If i wanted 3 star service I would not stay and pay for a % star hotel. Sorry to say that the second visit to R. Hawaiian was disappointing.

The hotel didn't live up to my expectation. They overcharge people for the hotel that they actually are. DO NOT GO HERE, YOU WILL WASTE YOUR MONEY! I had to change rooms twice during my stay because I was VERY unhappy with them. The first room was dark and with the layout I couldn't even watch tv from my bed. I upgraded (had to pay ALOT more than I already had paid) and didn't even get what I asked for and then had to change yet again. This hotel does have great restaurants, but don't let the beachfront fool you. It is super crowded all the time and if you want to relax and enjoy a LUXURY hotel-do not come here.

The rooms are too dark - not enough lamps and light in the room for reading. Also the color is too dark - not tropical and light like Hawaii should be. Brown is not a color that I associate with frowers and beautiful Hawaii landscapes.

The "grande dame" has had a facelift but not all the rooms. Skip the Tower Rooms which are not renovated and head right to the historic rooms which have been refurbished. But you will sacrifice room size, bathroom size and lanai (in most cases). However, The Royal Hawaiian provides excellent service with twice daily room cleaning, outstanding breakfast - do opt to include this luxurious meal at the Oceanfront Lanai - and a sandy beach with plenty of lounges, umbrellas and staff to place them exactly where you want them. After seeing all the hotels in Wakikii Beach, I'm glad I chose The Royal Hawaiian for our 7-day stay despite my initial disappointment with the room size. We were subsequently relocated and upgraded after a bit of a runaround which the staff apologized for with a complimentary bottle of wine. They do know the meaning of customer service!

This Hotel has huge potential, good size rooms, brilliant location, bathroom too small, friendly staff. Breakfast is not buffet type so I went to the nearby Sheraton which is part of the group and could be charged back to our room. I think this could be a true 5 star with some minor improvements. Hotel not cheap, but I guess it is the location

the pools were amazing...but if you have any idea that you may need or want to get out of the sun while spending the day at the pools... cough up $350.00 for a cabanna. I was so disappointed in this. The adult pool has no umbrellas to use. As we are all told to protect against over exposure to the sun at this place you will need to retreat to your hotel room. Hawaii...spent indoors... I don't think so.

毎年2～3回このホテルのJrスイートに滞在しています。毎回何かと不備がありますが、今回は最悪でした。ハウスキーピングのクオリティーがどんどんひどくなります。ほこりがたまっているのは当たり前。バスルームの清掃が不十分（使用済みの絆創膏が落ちていたこともありました。）冷蔵庫が悪臭がする（おそらく漬物か何かを前のゲストが入れた）アメニテイーが不備、数も種類も出鱈目に置いてある。情報誌・パンフレットは使いまわしで破損し汚れている。今回は、いつもなら初日にセットしてあるウエルカムフルーツもバナナケーキも無し、ベットメイク後のチョコレートも無し。レターセットもメモ帳もボールペンも置いていない。フロントに聞いたところ、ハウスキーピングの手落ちとのこと。電話も3台中2台は故障していました。常宿していましたが、大変がっかりしました。残念です、一体どうなっているのでしょうか・・・リゾートチャージは半年ごとに5～10ドルも値上げされているのに・・・非常に不快でした。

友人と二人の旅行だったので、ツインサイズ2台のベッドタイプをタグで選んで予約して、いざ部屋に入ったら、なんとキング×1とシングル×1(＞人＜;) 仕方ないので、日交代で変えて寝てました（笑） もし、ベッドを確実に希望通りにしたい方は、直接ホテルに確認をとってからの方がいいと思います。 それを除いては、部屋の雰囲気・立地は最高だったので、満足の旅行でした。

一度泊まってみたかったロイヤルハワイアン・・・施設・サービス・・・完璧です。　タワーでしたが高層階の必要はなく、プールやビーチを見ながらの滞在は素晴らしく、手入れのされたガーデンはハワイを感じるには一番だと思います。　　モアナ以外は泊まったことがありますが一番かもしれません。

酒店在下午3点后才能入住，如果早到就没有地方，如果能有休息室就会比较人性化。夏威夷的kahala 酒店就提供这种免费房间，供客人休息、换衣服等。非常好。这间酒店其他都很好，很方便购物。

最上階でしたが、海が見れない部屋で一泊5万円は高いと思う 隣のシェラトンがコストパフォーマンスは良かった。

ハワイ挙式の際にタワーに3泊しました。　サンセットが見える部屋でステキでした。レトロで外観内観ともステキでした。　挙式当日、ピンクのお城から出発するのがとてもうれしかったです。　あまり日本人の人は少なかったような気がします。　近くに何でもあるので買い物や食事には便利です。　

Fantastiskt! Allt var tipp topp! Alla förväntningar man har på ett 5 stjärningt hotell! bemötandet från personalen från början till slut var outstanding! Mycket högt betyg. Ett fantastiskt hotell med lyxservice utan att vara för stelt. Urhärligt! Läget är helt otroligt och personalen hjälpte till med allt!

ワイキキのど真ん中でとても便利だし、ホテルの内装やスタッフもよかったです。ど真ん中ゆえですが、結構まわりが夜遅くまでにぎやかで、逆にいえばうるさいかな。。。でも素敵なホテルでしたよ。機会があればまた泊ってみたいホテルのひとつになりました。

日常のストレスから逃れたくて、ある日突然思い立ち、たった数週間での出発でした。ウェブサイトの画像で見て、いつか泊ってみたいと思っていました。写真はきれいに見えるから、きっと実物はもっと色あせて見えるのではと覚悟していましたが！？とんでもない、もう写真以上の感動でした。ガーデンの緑と愛らしいピンクの館が非日常へと引き入れてくれました。出迎えてくれたスタッフもとても感じよく、宿泊したガーデンスイートもお姫様のお部屋のようでした。メイン通りに近いけれどホテル内はとても静かで、プライベートビーチもあり買い物、お食事、散歩すべてに好立地でした。ビーチのラナイ「マイタイバー」でダイアモンドヘッドを真ん前に眺めながらの一人ランチは最高でした。食事中も従業員が常に気遣ってくれて、やはり格式あるホテルは違うなあと実感しました。ぜひ、また訪れたいホテルです。

毎回利用しているが、サービスにむらが有る。特にアメニティー。今回はルームスリッパもマウスウオッシュもバスソルトも不備でした。

以前スイートルームに宿泊した時は、すごく対応も良かったのですが、今回のロイヤルグローブルームは部屋も昼でも電気つけないと暗い位置にあり、受付の女の人も怖い口調だったし、スリッパを二度持って来てとお願いしても持って来てくれず、かなり残念でした(T-T)

ビーチ等見晴らしの良い部屋で最高に良かった。次回も是非今回泊まったタワーにするつもりです。

今回のハワイ滞在では3ッのホテルを各3泊づつホッピングしましたが、やはりロイヤルハワイアンは「昔懐かしいハワイの雰囲気」が漂う素敵なホテルでした。宿泊したのはタワーのオーシャンビューの部屋でしたが、レノベーションされていて、かなり綺麗にまとまっていました。景色は最高♪バスタブ小さすぎ。。。ラナイは相変わらずお隣との間に隙間のデザインの入ったパーテーションがあるので丸見え。値段のわりに部屋小さすぎ。。。と悪いところも数多くありますが、スタッフの対応やレストランのクオリティーの高さなど、満足出来ることが多かったです。最近ホノルルにも斬新なホテルが増えてきていますが、とってもハワイアンな雰囲気のある素敵なホテルだと思います。
