Good hotel,trolley on the door step,hertz in the lobby,10 minute walk to Beale street,clean rooms,good bar

Clean rooms, very comfortable beds, short but quaint trolley ride to Beale St

Nice hotel and staff near Beal Street. Price to park is a little much each night $20. Overall a nice stay

Very nice staff, on the outskirts of downtown, but still a long walk. Easy access to highways.

The bedroom headboard wasn't clean and there was no microwavve nor a refridgerator. The bathroom floor had hair on the floor. The dresser tops hasn't been dusted as well. The couch had a wet smell odor on it. Nor did the front desk person speak to tell about breakfast or the dinig area.

Driving a 10-foot uHaul from Oklahoma City to Maryland and we picked Memphis as our first stop. We like staying in Marriotts because it's a quality hotel experience. This time, we booked a king room with a city view figuring that the room would just be good but not great. Imagine our surprise to be told that our room was on the concierge level...19th floor...and a corner room with amazing windows that gave us a view of the Mississippi River. That coupled with the pool area's hot tub and a trolley right out the door that took us to and from Beale Street for dinner made it the best stopover ever.

River views and good food were complimented by particularly courteous staff. Shanah (sp?) at front desk was super, as was the Valet parking fellow, who had a smart phone and was quick to use it to answer questions. Called for a refrigerator at 11:35 p.m,, no problem, a nice German girl knocked on the door and wheeled one at 11:45. Days later, when needed to stay a few hours beyond check out on Sunday to finish the ACBL competition--no problem--Shanah to the rescue again. Will stay there next time.

I bet this is nice for Memphis but its flanked by the muddy mississippi, county jail and courthouse and a housing project. The trolley runs down the street which was handy but was very scary outside of the hotel!

This hotel was just a short trolley ride to Beale St and Charles Vergo's Rendezvous. It wasn't very crowded when we went, which was just what we were hoping.

I stayed here on a Saturday night and it was super busy! The staff was very professional and pleasant to deal with! They handled my reservation promptly and my room was ready immediatly. The location is awesome! It is right on the trolly line so you have easy access to downtown and it's far enough away that you are away from the noise but a short ride puts you in the heart of downtown! Clean rooms, comfortable beds! Highly recommended!

The Memphis Marriot in downtown Memphis was excellent in everyway! It is absolutely beautiful. Our view was breath-taking. The room and hotel should be labeled as 4 star!!! I would recommend this hotel to everyone!

We were in town for the Grizzlies v. Pacers game. The hotel staff were very pleasant. Rooms and overall hotel were clean. The beds in this hotel are just to die for...did not want to get out of bed. Most comfortable bed ever! Good food and the pool and gym area were very clean as well. Just an overall awesome stay. The driver of the main street only trolley that we took to beale street was not very pleasant. Never had been on the trolley...so wasn't sure how to pay...he was not helpful at all. Would recommend this hotel to anyone!!!!

Hotel was much nicer and priced the same as many of the ones closer to Beale Street. Although it was a distance - about 10-12 blocks - from Beale, there is a neat trolley that runs every 10 minutes directly to the action. Great pool, workout rooms, restaurants within walking.

parking across the street for $5/day. Staff very friendly. Didn't eat there, so can't vouch for food. Bed very comfortable! Great Shower!

The hotel is nice- no complaints there. This was not my first time staying there, this is the first time I was there as a leisure traveler though. It is a little far from the "strip" though. If I was going back to hang out on Beale Street and see the sights I would definitely stay a little closer to downtown- especially if its cold. This hotel is great if you are going to the convention center though.

We loved the hotel and are looking forward to staying again when we come back to town. The staff was great, the room was super, and I loved the pool and hot tub. Everything was clean and fresh. Being on the trolly line was a good plus.

Everyone at the hotel was very nice and helpful. It was a slow time for the hotel, but everything stayed open and staffed. Really great if you want food and ice cream at 9 pm.

The Memphis Downtown Marriott was a lovely place. Our room was clean and spacious, the breakfast buffet was delicious and the staff was attentive and efficient. We would definitely stay there again. Our only disappointment was that it was not walking distance to Beale Street area - it could have been if the weather had been a little warmer!

We had a great room, with a great view. Very comfortable, though I would have liked two queen beds instead of two full ones. Very comfy linens. Nice granite countertop in the large bathroom. The room itself was an ordinary size, but nicely decorated. Trolley stop right outside the hotel, which was great fun, though the neighborhood was a little run-down, with bars in windows and gates across storefronts. Very expensive to park (extra, not included in room), but the valet staff was very helpful, with unlimited access to your car. Historic St. Mary's Church is right next door. Indoor swimming pool was warm as bathwater and welcoming for a December swim. Memphis Grille Restaurant on the premises had a delicious breakfast buffet, and I had one of the best omelets ever there! Wait staff was fabulous -- helpful and friendly!

This hotel charged a 25 dollar incidental fee to my credit card. I paid for my room in advance of arrival. I called and complained and I was told that this fee would come off in 6 days because I did not have any incidental charges. I do not like being charged for something I did not use or buy. I will not stay at Marriott again. Also contruction going on the floor above me. Not told of this. Minus these 2 issues I would have returned and stayed here again. Just bad business to charge someones card without their permission, when they did not owe anything.

Beautiful place to stay - very friendly staff, the valet parking attendants were awesome!! Was surprised there was not a small fridge in the room.

no microwave, elevator broken

I have never stayed at a hotel that had such friendly employees. I can usually find something wrong with a hotel, but not here. Very clean and very convenient to everything. Will definitely stay here again and recommend to all our friends!

The first thing I noticed was how helpful the valley was in opening my door and unloading my luggage. The lobby is very open and finished well, we stayed in a king sweet city view the bed was so comfortable, the room was exceptionally clean, the food was delicious and the drinks reasonably priced we were in walking distance to beale street and mud island, but we decided to have the conciere call us a horse drawn buggy to both places. we will be back soon

Was very convienent to the interstate, the room was very nice. We loved the beds and large bathroom.

Loved the comfy duvets and lots of pillows. $2.50/bottle of water in gift shop, ridiculous. Air conditioning cold, so take a sweater. Take the trolley to Court St. A & R Barbeque at 3rd and Court...yummy!

The south was well represented, friendly staff, and very helpful. A bonus was the room overlooking the river where we took in a fireworks show. Fabulous!

I think my expectations were a little higher in reverence with the pay. The room was not decorated the way I thought it should be and the bathroom was very spacious but the use of space was not used decoratively. The beds were comfy but for the Marriott, I thought the room would be a lot better. Our stay was for Beale street and it is not in walking distance but a trolley is available. Staff was friendly. I will not making reservations for this hotel again because I think I can find something nicer for the same price and more convenient.

Overrall, our stay here was very nice. The hotel was very nice and comfortable. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast Buffett was also delicious. The only thing I didn't like was the distance to downtown. The cab fare to the event and the fed ex forum was around ten dollars before tip each way and it was hard to find a cab back to the hotel after the event and being a mile and a half away it was not really in walking distance especially at night. Besides the distance from downtown it was a great hotel

We went to Memphis to see a concert. This hotel was far enough away from the main sights to be quiet, yet it was right on the trolley line. It was very easy and inexpensive to use; a great way to travel into the city, see the sights and head back to the room.

Our stay was pleasant, however the shower curtain was dressed with mold and there was not a hairdryer located in the room. We waited about 35 minutes for this item to be delivered. Overall, warm stay with a few issues that expect to be addressed.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The Trolley stop, right outside the doors, was really convenient too. We ate at the Breakfast Buffet the morning that we left, and while a little pricey, the omelet bar, was great, as was the rest of the food. Only problems we had were that they couldn't find our Hotels.com reservation (but after a quick call to hotels.com for the actual marriott confirmation number this was resolved), and they had 2 elevators down for maintenance (and during the Beale Street Music Festival weekend.... this is NOT a good thing). But overall a great stay. We'll surely be coming back there again.

Hotel staff was great, very friendly, concierge very helpful. Breakfast buffet a little overpriced and was surprised there was no toilet paper holder in bathroom, toilet paper was sitting on the back of the toilet.

When I checked in with my small children, I got worried we'd be in a small room with no view. To my surprise, we had a fabulous room on a VIP floor with an excellent view of the river and downtown. The beds were comfortable and one of the best sleeps I've had in weeks! Everybody was helpful and tried to make our experience as enjoyable as possible. The $20 for valet parking hurt a little, but was worth it with 2 little ones in tow. Pool was nice, hot tub was nicer. Convenient to the zoo and downtown activities. Will stay there again. Not impressed with the restaurant.

We settled into our hotel rooms after an 8 hour + drive from Chicago. The employees of the hotel were overly nice and helpful. We enjoyed every aspect of the hotel, from the pool to the delicious buffet breakfast. The employees in the restaurant were wonderful and friendly and the service was fast , which is always a plus when traveling with children and an 80 year old grandmother. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean. The only downside-drinks were very expensive in the bar. The trolley ride to dinner ,both evenings, was a plus. Graceland was everything and more. I'm only 45, but it definitely took me back. Sun Records- very cool and the Lorraine Hotel is must.

got a good rate on this room as we were in town to watch the grizzlies.... i expected the hotel to be a little closer to fedex forum but it was several blocks and not within walking distance with kids....overall the hotel stay was very nice.... everything was excellent including room service / pool / check in and especially the valet and bellman were very nice.....
