Hotel in convenient location esp. for Ryerson, and front desk service was great. Carpets a bit grungy, and the nonsmoking room still had old smoke odour.

Clean room, good sleep little to no noise from room above

I absolutely loved staying at the ramada. The bed was so comfortable, and close to everything I needed! This is where i will be staying from now on. It's a 20 min from union station, the maple leaf gardens Loblaws is your corner store!

very nice but parking should come with a room. I'll look for somewhere else next time.

The hotel was conveniently located to downtown. We were upgraded to a suite which was nice. The restaurant was a joke. We tried to go one night but there was nobody there ( yes, it was open). Room was quiet at night and comfortable. Housekeeping didn't come until almost 4pm after we had spent the whole day out, so we skipped the cleaning.

Was originally booked at a higher rated Downtown Toronto hotel. This room was cheaper and nicer. Plus it had air conditioning. The higher priced/rated hotel had their a/c turned off for the season and it was very warm for the time of year. I don't like having the option to make my room to my comfort level. That is the main reason I switched to this hotel! Once I got there it was just as nice if not more comfortable than my original room!

We had a very enjoyable stay over the Easter weekend. The room was pleasant, though small for 6 of us. Upgrades in the bathroom were apparent and appreciated. We spent the first day at the ROM and the hotel had no problem with us leaving our vehicle there for the day prior to our official check in. The front desk staff were courteous and helpful. On east morning we walked across the street and toured through Allen Gardens this was a great bonus as it was filled with Easter Lillies and admission was free. The kids had fun watching the dogs in the enclosed dog park next to Allen Gardens and there was also a playground across the road. The only drawbacks were that the elevators were small and slow, the distance to the pool was more than expected and the pool depth was only 4 ft at the deep end (perfect for kids...but unexpected). We found the neighbourhood to be the usual Toronto mix. The proximity to St.Lawrence Market was also a plus.

Booked one night, but stayed 3 as it was so comfortable and convenient. Large room. Good value for the money and a very knowledgable and helpful front desk staff.

We spent one night at the hotel and it was quiet and clean. There where no fancy frills but it was modern and had everything you would need. It wasn't on the best bus route and unfortunately makes it hard to get around especially if you have young children if you dont want to drive around.

I booked two rooms at the Ramada Plaza Hotel in downtown Toronto. When I arrived I found both rooms had been upgraded to suites. Check in was fast and efficient and courteous. As we had tickets for the theatre on our departure day, the hotel extended our check-out time to 12:30 so we could dress for the theatre, and allowed us to leave our vehicle in the underground lot until after the show, with no additional fee. We came away very impressed with the staff and facilities and highly recommend it.

Date of stay - March 10-12, 2012 We had a 2 King Bed suite and although the hotel indicated it was renovated, It most certainly was not. The carpet was filthy (to the point that when the TV stand was moved slightly, there was a black line), there was masking tape on tears in the wallpaper which was also bubbling in many places, there was quite a bit of chipped paint on the interior door frames...generally the unit was in a disappointing condition. It was an excellent layout though and with some attention could be a great space. The pool was much smaller than we thought from the photos and was quite cold. The hot tub was cold even though it had been reported as not working earlier in the day. It was still not fixed the next day. Both the kids and my friend and I were disappointed by this as this was a big part of the reason we chose the hotel. When we reported our concerns with the room which included a noisy disturbance in the early hours of the morning, we were met with a very defensive reaction from the front desk clerk. He was not overly concerned with our experience which was frustrating. He did agree to give us parking for free, which I guess was something. Instead of taking a message for the manager to contact us (two days later), it was left that WE had to call the manager and incur long-distance charges on top of everything else. Overall, as much as the location was great for walking around to a bunch of downtown attractions, I think I would find another hotel next time.

It was a lovely stay at the Ramada, Downtown Toronto. The staff was very helpful and super friendly. The suite is very nice and spacious. However, the technology was a little behind. We requested a suite with a flat screen TV so we can connect an HDMI cable. The suite had a flat screen tv but nothing can be connected to it. Other than that, everything was amazing and I'd recommend it Anytime.

Overall I was satisfied with this hotel. We chose it because we could sleep 5 in the room, and could not find another downtown Toronto that would allow 5 in the room. However, the next morning we found a black lace ladies thong in the sheets of the sofa bed! It was not ours, and a male child had slept there! The thong had evidently been worn. It made us question if the sofabed sheets had been changed.....The Hotel gave us our parking for free when it was mentioned.

didn't like the hotel. when we checked in, the toilet didn't work and the carpets were threadbare. told the front desk, and they changed the room, but they had no bellman and I had 6 bags, so I had to load all the bags on the troiley and move them all myself AGAIN. The next room also had crumy carpets and the drain didn't work in the shower. Not so great

Beautiful, comfortable room in a reasonably priced hotel close to the heart of downtown Toronto. :) Very satisfied with the hotel service. Only wish we had been informed that the hot tub was not working. :(

I loved the room and decor, but was VERY unsatisfied with the fact that the bed had a huge metal bracket hanging out and i hit my ankle on it because it was hidden under the bed skirt, when I mentioned this to the front desk personal they just said it was a part of the bed frame. No one asked if I was ok or offered to compensate me in anyway ! my ankle was swollen and hurt for several days !!!!

Stayed just one night for business, but I was very impressed with the hotel! I was upgraded to a suite for free upon check-in without having to even ask the front desk. The room was excellent and very comfortable; seemed to be just recently refurbished with new furniture. The front desk staff was very helpful and was able to recommend an excellent pub within walking distance. The restaurant on-site also provides an excellent selection of breakfast items, and are decently priced with the competition. All in all, I would definitely return to this hotel in the future!

It was just "ok". Smell when you approach the water feature in Reception is off-putting. Reception staff were pleasant. Got upgraded as our suite wasn't ready at 4pm. The suite was great for size and layout but just felt tired: wallpaper was already coming off, grubby windowsills, carpet looked dirty. Disappointing that the restaraunt and room service were unavailable - I didn't know this when I booked it. I wouldn't stay again.

I could not believe there was no bellhop to assist with baggage. This is the first hotel I have stayed at in my entire life where they don't assist you with baggage. That is not acceptable. Also there was a water disruption during the stay where the hotel had to turn off water betwween 11am and 5pm. You may as well shut the hotel down for a day if you're going to make repairs. It should not be at the expense of the guest and their incconvenience.

It is at a pretty decent location. The only complain is they have very dirty sticky carpet and without slippers provided. It makes you feel very uncomfortable to step on the floor.

I have stayed here before, I was surprised at the new washrooms, Great Washrooms, freshly renovated.

The toilet was loose. The tap of the washbasin was loose. The carpet needs stretching & tightening and also a shampoo.

Booked this hotel on a whim and was a bit wary as the price seemed too good to be true. I emailed ahead of time to advise it was for a special occasion and to request a renovated room, and received a prompt email saying the room was reserved as such. Check in was super quick and I was shocked when I entered the room to see I had been given a suite when I paid such a low price. The room was absolutely beautiful and was complete with a fridge, microwave and the softest sheets I've ever felt. The renovated bathroom was wonderful. I called down at 10:30 to ask if the 11 am checkout could be extended as I wasn't sure we could make it and was told we could check out at 12, with no problem. Check out again was super quick. For breakfast, Cora's and the Golden Griddle are both a 5 min walk away. As far as the location, it's less than 10 min from the heart of downtown at Yonge and Dundas and the neighbourhood is the usual mix you'd see downtown - yes, there are people who are sketchy but I also saw many hipsters and parents with their kids, so don't worry about previous reviews making it seem like there's a crackhouse on every corner. Would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat - book it, you won't be sorry!

Great room and rates The beds were very comfortable The view from the bedroom window was a little awkward. It looked out right into the apartments beside the hotel. I felt like I was invading peoples privacy. The staff was friendly and helpful

We were happy with our room. There was a separate living area with french doors leading to the king bedroom. The TV in the living area however did not work, and we couldn't even find the remote for it. We were impressed that there was a microwave and fridge. The washroom was very neat and clean, with nice bright lights. The floorboards in the bedroom were creaky. The one thing we hated was that the lobby and hallways leading to the room were very stinky. It was like a stale sort of smell. Very unpleasant. Thank goodness our room didn't smell though.

The hotel was a surprise. The front desk even upgraded our room to a suite which was very comfortable and well appreciated. Location is ideal in that it's close enough to where the action is without being chaotic or too loud. Walking distance to Eaton Center even with two kids, less than a block away from the streetcar that can take you there and to Chinatown. Room is remodeled, beds are comfortable, and much better than expected. Note that the swimming pool is very small, it's only big enough to soak in. There's a plethora of restaurants within walking distance so you won't starve due to lack of variety. Excellent low priced choice, parking though is extra (keep that in mind, you're paying for convenience and close proximity to the action.) We stayed previously at a hotel that was further out but had free parking, it is worth paying the parking to avoid the need to drive to get downtown, stay close to the action and avoid the traffic.
