Hotel was a bit beat-up -- chairs were stained, the electronic key card kept failing, and they almost forgot to clean the room one day. Shower was good, location was very handy, staff was friendly. Rate it cheap but adequate.

Sure, it's close to downtown, and probably a cheap rate, but don't do it! Had I known how terrible this place was, I would have GLADLY shelled out the extra $20-40 a night for a better place. The owner was a really nice guy, but the staff was a nightmare. I got in an altercation with some "night security" kid who clearly thought I was a 20 year old college student. He tried forcing me inside my room when I went outside to make a phone call. Physically pushed me and threatened to call the police on me... for a phone call and a cigarette?! Then in the morning, I noticed my car windows were down (very silly feature on a Nissan that rolls down the windows if you hold down the unlock button, and I unknowingly sat on my keys or something.. yeah, not cool) and it had rained during the night. So the interior of my car was pretty soaked. I asked the front desk for a couple towels, and the lady asked me "what for?" Slightly taken aback from the question, I answered honestly and told her that I needed to wipe down the interior of my car because of the rain. Her response, and I KID YOU NOT, was: "we don't give towels out to wipe down cars." I mean, really?!? Is that Travelodge Rule #372? What DO you give towels out for? I couldn't believe it. Anyway, aside from all of that, the room was prison small, stuffy, and more uncomfortable than I could have ever imagined. I visit SLO regularly and you couldn't pay me to sleep here again. I strongly recommend paying just a little more for a nicer place. Fool me once...

It's like the old drive up motel where you park just outside your room. So, its modest. But, the price was right, the location was GREAT (we walked everywhere downtown), the room and bathroom were clean, the bed was much more comfortable that I expected, everything worked fine and the staff was very friendly. I would definitively stay again.

The only reason you want to stay in this hotel is for the location. If you are looking to spend the night in downtown SLO. This is the hotel for you. Plenty of great food, bars, and music only a couple a blocks away. Easy to stumble back to the hotel at 2AM. The rest of the hotel is not worth writing about. same as a motel 6 or super 8.

One of the few motels in San Luis Obispo that has smoking rooms.

The location was great. right in downtown San Luis near all the great eateries, bars, and shops. On the downside the rooms were small, dirty, and noisy. There was a dried blood stain on the comforter and you could hear everything going on around your room.

Simple but clean motel. Adequate for quick stay in SLO.

I would not recommend this hotel. While it is close to Cal Poly and downtown SLO, it was quite run down and the quality of the linens was poor. Also, there is no air conditioning, so in mid-September it was stuffy and hot, and keeping the windows open meant traffic noise. The hotel staff was friendly and nice, however.

Very adequate place to spend the night. No extras, nothing fancy. Generally quiet and very convenient.

If you're looking for a place to crash when visiting downtown SLO, this is a great place. Walking distance to the bars, restaurants and shopping. Beds are comfy, walls are thin, but worth the price. Will most likely come here again when visiting SLO.

Don't recommend staying here as it is very noisy and think we found a few bed bugs in our room.

located in dt san luis...only a few blocks away to the main st....hotel is nothing to brag about but its cheap and easy to get to.

If you like, noisy, dirty, poorly designed hotel facilities, then this is for you! Hey, free wi-fi and a continental breakfast can count for something, but not when compared to a filthy room, a deluxe 17" color TV, shoddy building construction which allows you to hear your neighbor's every action and the slamming of doors throughout the building, not to mention the high class of tenents who let you know everything at between the hours of 1 - 3 AM in the morning parking lot for all to hear!

I've stayed in San Louis many times. This time I arrived late in the afternoon and had to leave early the next morning and so I was just looking for a decent room for a reasonable price (hotels in San Louis Obisbo or expensive). Within walking distance of downtown, the hotel was perfect for meeting my requirement of low cost, convenience and celanliness.

This hotel is VERY old! The walls in our RV are thicker than the hotels. EXTREMELY noisy!!! We could hear the person in the next room snoring!!!!

First of all, I cannot stand having the cleaning crew come int my room when I am only staying for 2 nights. The came and cleaned. It bugs me, but that's just my preference. The blinds in the changing room only covered part of the window. Just a little inconvenient if I say so myself. The blanket on the bed had a big tear in it. The fitted sheet for the bed was not a fitted sheet at all, it was a regular sheet so as soon as you moved at all in the night, you were lying on th mattress itself with nothing under you. This stuff you may find as petty, but I expect it to be in better condition than that.

I wouldn't stay here again, there are nicer hotels in this great area. The confusion at the front desk about whether we had a room or not, though we booked on hotels.com was too much, and I was irritated by the incompetatnce. The room was not up to standards, it could easily be fixed up and they choose not to fix easy fixes.

The Downtown Travelodge offers one perk. It is located just off the main downtown drag in San Luis Obispo. Great location if you're walking back from the Thursday Night Farmer's market or one of the area's many bars. But rundown rooms offer little in the way of comfort. Cramped bathroom, tiny shower.

Forget this place. Our last stay we found drugs in the nightstand, this stay needles on the floor and no working lamps. Sleep in the park if you have to, it would be safer.

The Front Desk Clerk was very rude. I did not get her name, but it was an elderly woman with white hair. She was very disrespectful and unhelpful. She had a negative attitude and was very unfriendly which made us feel unwelcomed.

Can't beat it for the money. Less than "6" by quite a bit. Be warned, no air conditioning, but not necessary most summer days.

I wouldn't plan my whole holiday here, but it was a good cheap place to stay at for one night after driving and sightseeing on Highway 1 all day and to rest up before driving to LA.

Petit déjeuner gratuit pas copieux mais il a le mérite d'être là et de garder son argent pour le déjeuner ou le dinner. Bon hôtel pour une étape avec un petit centre ville ayant bcp de charme.
