The hotel was in a good location near the central square - however on arrival we were greeted daily by a terrible smell of raw sewage in the hotel lobby. I was allocated a room where the smell was completely unbearable ad made me feel ill. I did swap rooms to a beter one - however they are not exactly the cleanest in the word!!! I would not really recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Gent.

Its a great location, but there was a bad smell from the drains all around and inside the hotel. It made me feel ill.

This is an exceptional Hotel. I never write reviews normally but felt I should share this ! For a 3 * this is very impressive. We travelled as a family of 4 with an 11 yr old and 13 yr old sharing our room. We had a kingsize sofa bed for the kids that split into 2 singles....ideal. The buffet breakfast was wonderful ,with a huge choice and excellent standard. We normally stay in 4 or 5 * and could see no difference. ALL the staff were very friendly and quick to give local tips on where to visit. The kids loved the free Christmas chocolates and gifts on arrival and we couldn't pull them off the x box in reception ! We will definitely visit again as the kids eat and stay for free up to 16 years of age. Thanks for a lovely weekend.

Went for business trip. Preatty good hotel but not more. Very good location and very good breakfest. If you will stay for couple of days, I recommend this hotel.

Great location, within easy walking distance of all the sights. Great buffet breakfast and free Suana and Steam room. Would definiteley stay here again.

you just know what you're going to get with novotel...you don't know where you are when you wake up because the rooms are so impersonal, but the service is always most excellent, and the amenities ample

This is the second time I have stayed here with the children. The value of this hotel is good for Belgium and Ghent is very nice. The kids ate free breakfast which makes it a good deal. Overall I found the hotel to be clean, rooms ok, beds comfortable, bathroom a bit worn, but pleasant enough.

This hotel was convenient to all sights. An excellent place to stay in ghent. We were there for the start of the festival and were sorry that we couldn't have stayed longer. The breakfast was good. The rooms were well organised and the staff very very helpful. Overall very pleased with the accommodation.

This is a very well maintained hotel. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Front desk extremely helpful. Breakfast was great. It is in the center of all of the action and close to several tram stops. Also reasonable price for its location.

Cons: Getting there by car is a bit of a nightmare due to the many one way systems and pedestrian areas in Gent. We had to ask someone to find the hotel (my Tom Tom did not find its location). It was midnight when i arrived with our 2 children and the check-in was quick and easy. Tried to order room service but nobody answered the telephone so we went to bed hungry which was a real shame. There is a massive building site right outside the hotel so you cannot drive your car anywhere near it (luckily we only had hand luggage). We parked in the nearby Vrijtagmarkt car park from where it's a 5 minute walk and only stayed one night. Pros: Having said all that, the centre of Gent is a beautiful place and I'm sure once they finish the massive building works, it will be easier to access the hotel as its location is brilliant! I would give it a 5 rating then. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious, kids ate and stayed for free which was an excellent bonus. The beds and room were comfortable and I would definitely stay again particularly as I want to spend longer in Gent. Top Tip: If you are going to stay here with children, make an effort to visit the castle which is only 5-10 minute walk. It's fabulous (I'll write a separate review on tripadvisor.)

Perfect location, love the breakfast!

We really enjoyed our stay the location was brilliant, and the room was one of the best that we stayed in on our 6 week European vacation. It was of the same standard as Novotel hotels in Australia. We enjoyed that there were tea and coffee facilities unlike some other hotels. The churches were so close we felt we could almost touch them, a fantasic view of the gorgeous town.

Good location relative to city center. Hotel was very nice and had an exceptional breakfast. They were willing to store our luggage.

The hotel is in the middle of town which is excellent for sightseeing and walking to bars and restaurants. However, driving to the hotel can be a challenge due to the one way system and pedestrian only areas. Once found however, the hotel parking may be full and you'll have to re-navigate to the market underground parking 2 blocks away. Breakfast should starts at 6:00am, but this is actually when the staff start to set up. Basically; it's a nice hotel, but expensive and hard to find (even with GPS).

This is a business hotel (so quite characterless) but the staff were friendly; the room was comfortable and spotless and it was in a great location.

Amazing hotel - location - 10/10

This hotel is about as central as you can get in the cost range. There are more expensive ones on the canal-front but. Staff helpful, the room we had was quite large by continental standards. Breakfast costly but there is an Exki by the bridge which sells a crossaint / juice for € 2 and coffee for € 2 to € 3. Noisy disco on the Saturday night we were ther efrom somewhere

Good location for Ghent as everything to see is within walking distance. The Novotel is a well located hotel with friendly staff however the garage is very small and expensive. The room allocated to me had a smell of urine when I entered, I complained and was told that there were no other rooms and that somebody would call to the room to resolve the problem, nobody ever came. I talked to the room service girl who was very sympathetic and gave me some air freshener however the room still had a hygiene problem. On the whole, choose somewhere nicer.

posto in buona posizione centrale, ma nel periodo in cui siamo andati abbiamo trovato dei lavori in corso che si sarebbero protratti nel tempo in quanto stavano alzando una struttura comunale.lascio immaginare di prima mattina i rumori provenienti dalla piazza.se non fosse x questo l"hotel avrebbe tutti i presupposti x essere preso in considerazione: struttura, posizione e colazione abbondante.

La ubicación es excelente y el trato, servicioy atención los mejores que hemos recibido en este viaje. Muy muy recomendado, no le falta nada!

Dit hotel ligt op een mooie locatie in het oude gezellige centrum van Gent. Alle bezienswaardigheden, eetgelegenheden diverse musea zijn op loopafstand. Als u met de auto komt dient het aanbeveling de reis goed voor te bereiden, er is namelijk veel eenrichtingverkeer en de ingang is aan de achterzijde. Over het algemeen een goed hotel; nadelig punt is de prijs van het ontbijt.

Wij waren met 2 volwassenen, 2 kinderen. Het hotel heeft een aangename familiekamer gegeven, de kinderen kregen spelletjes en gratis ontbijt. Prachtig verblijf gehad

Het hotel ziet er netjes uit alleen hangt er een vreemde geur. Het hotel is nodig toe aan een opknapbeurt vooral de gangen waar vieze vloerbedekking ligt net als in de kamers zelf. Wat ik erg vies vindt is dat er honden mee mogen in het hotel. Combinatie hond en vloerbedekking komt niet fris over. Ook de honden mogen het restaurant in ook dat is smerig . Er wordt geen rekening gehouden met mensen die allergisch hiervoor zijn. Het personeel is zeer vriendelijk en netjes.

От жд вокзала на первом трамвае 10 минут. Отель расположен в самом центре, 5 минут пешком до всех достопримичательностей. Большой и удобный номер, большая ванная комната, туалет с душем отдельно. В номере был чайник. Интернет бесплатно только в холле. Шикарный завтрак!!! Смело могу рекомендовать этот отель!!!

Het is een goed hotel. Het hotel is centraal gelegen in het centrum van Gent. Je kunt vanuit het hotel alles lopend bereiken.

In de herfstvakantie hebben wij een nachtje met onze twee kinderen in het Novotel Gent doorgebracht. De locatie van het hotel is prima, midden in de stad. Parkeren kan in de eigen parkeergarage. We hadden een prachtige kamer die volop ruimte bood. Een aantal zaken in het hotel hebben wel last van achterstallig onderhoud. Zo is het verfwerk slecht en de vloerbedekking smerig. Ontbijt was prima. Kortom een prima keuze.

moeilijk om met de auto er bij te komen, nergens aangeduidt en te kleine parking

Ein sehr schönes komfortables Hotel mitten im Zentrum,aber trotzdem ruhig. Ein tolles Früstücksbuffet, freundliches Personal, ein Pool im Innenhof für heisse Sommertage- für uns das perfekte Hotel.

Doordat in het hotel veel gebruik is gemaakt van tapijten (zelfs de wanden van de lift) ruikt het in het hotel muf. De informatie over draadloos internet in de openbare ruimte is onduidelijk. In de openbare ruimte kan namelijk alleen op de hotel computers gratis met internet gewerkt worden en niet op de eigen computer of I-pad. De inrichting van de kamer is uit de tijd maar wel netjes en schoon.

Hôtel très bien situé. Plein centre ville. Chambre très très spacieuse pour une famille de 4, tout confort, au calme et avec belle vue. Les enfants ont apprécié leur espace séparé. Un seul point négatif : le parking. Très difficile d'accès.

El Hotel está situado en el centro de la ciudad, es un hotel confortable y con buenos servicios. El desayuno está bién. El personal es amable y la atención muy adecuada. Respondieron a nuestras expectativas. Nos hemos ido satisfechos del Hotel.
