Viva Wyndham Maya Resort - All Inclusive - شاطئ كارمن

The buffet food was terrible and made us sick (which is the only food available for the most part). The restaurant reservations are only given to guest staying 3 or more nights (but if you're staying for 3 nights you only get one reservation). The restaurant food was good, but there were several very loud children next to us, which isn't what I wanted to hear on my honeymoon. The room was fine, but the bed was really hard. We had to tell them we were honeymooners to get an upgraded room (king sized bed) but they hassled us about that because it wasn't in their file (how would it be if we booked through hotels.com). The beach was nice, but too crowded with chairs. The pools weren't heated so they were chilly. The only thing we really enjoyed was the bar areas which were fast and decent. Other things to know: The internet is very limited if you don't want to pay. The tour groups from the hotel are WAY overpriced. The activities were also very limited, and we couldn't even find some of them. In general, the place was way over priced for the quality but still cheaper than the other area resorts. I would recommend finding a non-all inclusive hotel in town and finding your own food. It would be much cheaper and you'd actually feel like you're in mexico.

We have a fantastic time. The hotel is clean, the beach is fantastic and the pool great. The food was not WOW! but was OK for the price. However, the restaurant food was WOW!! The Maya Restaurant at the Azteca hotel was fantastic. The service people are unbelievable helpful. They are always with a smile and make you feel at home. For us they were the start of our stay! The hotel location is fantastic, in a nice secure area at walking distance of Playa del Carmen 'centro'. You can also borrow a bike from the hotel and bike around, beautiful hotels and mansions around and VERY safe. Across the street there is also a mall if you don't want to go to the 'centro' to get your souvenirs. It is also a less than an hour from Tulum. We rented a car for all our stay so we were able to go to cenotes and the ruins for few hours and comeback to the hotel. If you do it by an organized tour it can be more expensive and doesn't give you the freedom to do whenever you want or find alternate plans if the weather doesn't look promising for the day. The hotel is well equipped. When we were there, the hotel was full, but we always were able to get a kayak or time to do water activities. and never had to wait for food or service. I will recommend to do the restaurant reservations as soon as you arrive, as I mention the restaurants are great, but the reservations get full fast.

We booked this hotel last minute and received what I thought to be a very fair price. We were pleasantly surprised as the hotel was listed as a 3 star but had many great amenities. A good example was our a la carte meal in Don Diego's. It was the best a la carte meal at an all-inclusive we have ever had. The evening show was really entertaining. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

All Inclusive experience was not up to the standards expected. I expected when I booked that everything would be included, mini bar stacked with beers water and juices once a day as done at other All Inclusive Resorts. Use of all available restaurants and not only the buffet. More than just one bottle of water in the room which was not even replaced daily. I believe that the All Inclusive service ahould be thoroughly explained and specific at the booking stage.

Our stay was great! We went the first week in July 2011, so the weather was mixed. But, the hotel was very pretty, clean, and the staff very attentive. Our room was right near the beach, which was lovely. We enjoyed the food, and its pleantiful. There is a lot of variety and something for everyone at the buffet. However, they don't tell you that you need to reserve a spot in one of the three resturants in advance. So ask about at this when you book the hotel. We found the Mexcian resutrant to be the best of the Three at the resort. We also enjoyed the Buffet far more then we thought we would, espcially Mexican night. There was plenty to do at the resort including doing nothing if that is what you wanted. They also had an excursion desk in the lobby that arranged a day trip for us to Tulum. It's a lovely place and worth the trip, but the tour operator the hotel put us with didn't give us much timeat the ruins as they had to pick up other hotel guest along the way. This ate into our site seeing time. My wife and I had such a good time we are bringing the children back on our next visit.

We stayed at Viva Maya for almost 2 weeks during our honeymoon. The beach is lovely! it´s very clean (booth sea and beach). The hotel was really good, activities everyday...10 minutes from 5th avenue. You can also borow a bike at the hotel which was great! Food was OK. the a´la carte restaurants where very nice.

I've been to many 4-star all inclusives in Mexico; Viva Maya rates at the top. The sit down restaurants and the buffet are above average. I especially enjoyed the fresh juices for breakfast, from papaya to watermelon. But … what sets Viva Maya apart is the staff; the “Grupo de Animacion” make your stay a truly memorable experience. They have so much fun with what they do that you can't avoid smiling all day. Even though Viva is located a short walk to downtown Playa, we never had the time to go – there is no reason or time to leave the resort! Do not miss the nightly shows! Every night, the staff creates these incredible Broadway-quality performances. It is amazing to see these people you've been playing with in the pool all day become professional dancers. Truly an extraordinary vacation!

We stayed during the week of March 15-20th. We researched this hotel and other all-inclusives in the area. I would say we definitely made the right choice. We had a wonderful experience during our 4 day stay. FOOD: The buffet food was average, but I don't think they offered any less quality than the other all-inclusives in this price range. It was nice that the snack bar was open. Suggest on the day of check-in, if you get there early enough in the evening go to the snack bar right after you put your luggage in your room, since you can't eat at the buffet or any of the restaurants on the night of check-in and the good food at the snack bar gets eaten right away. With our 4-night reservation, we could always eat at the buffet but could eat only one time at a hotel restaurant. So for that we chose the Italian restaurant at the Wyndham Aztec (sister hotel that is a little more upscale). It was a short walk and we did some shopping at the small area of shops on the street before arriving for our dinner reservations which were at 8:30pm. The food was fantastic. ROOMS: We stayed in a corner room #1224. It was located closer to the beach and offered a limited ocean view. It was quiet for the most part. There was enough room for all 4 of us, but we only were in there to sleep so it was fine. I think if a family of 4 wanted to stay there for longer than a week, it might be a little cramped. The bathroom was large enough. The beds were queen size so there was room enough for 2 to sleep in a bed. Pillows were small and so suggest you try to get two per person. They kept it clean around the room and with beach sand that is not an easy task. BEACH: It was perfect. Lots of area to do things. Suggest you get your spot under the umbrella area very early in the morning. People must go out there at around 6 am or so to get a spot. We would get there around 7:30 and still could find a place in the back row which is away from the ocean but closer to the bar :) ENTERTAINMENT: The hotel

Did not like the hotel at all. For the price it was seriously lacking. Food was disappointing room was sad and staf was unenthused. Only positive was close location to little touristy shopping plaza which we were able to escape to

The hotel fit our needs for warm weather, a nice beach, good food, and recreation. It wasn't too big to get around, yet they had a range of activities to keep busy and enjoy the warm weather. Staff was professional and friendly, considering the issue I had when checking in, which was due to hotels.com error. Rooms were on the small side and the bathrrom sink was a bit high and shallow for comfort and hygiene. Overall I would return, but having two kids, would look for a bigger room.

THE SERVICE IS TERRIBLE AND THE FOOD IS NASTY (I WASN'T ABLE TO EAT AT ALL FROM THOSE DIRTY BUFFETS)

This was a nice hotel with good staff. The quality of the food in the ala carte restaurant was average but the heat from cooking in the room made it hot inside....this was in the morning and the evening. The activities in the beach & pool area were good and I really enjoyed that. My only complaint with the hotel was that the room was musty smelling....and I don't mean just a little bit. I'm not that picky on smells but it was very bad each time we returned to the room...after a little while, we would start to get used to it. When I got home, I had to wash the clothes that I did not wear as they smelled very musty. The hotel should do something about this. If you can live with a strong musty smell and can get a good price on the hotel, I would recommend it.

We stayed there for a week and we think this hotel has on of the best beaches in the area, however, the rooms needs to be updated/fixed/maintained. Our bathroom had plenty of stains and there was signs of humidity in our balcony/patio (fungus included). Buffet was average, but Portofino and Hacienda Don Diego restaurants had amazing food. We stayed 6 nights and the only allowed to make 2 reservations so we couldn't check the Pizza and Pasta restaurant. Overall, food is average, staff is great, pool and bar are pretty cool, rooms are old and not maintained properly.

everyting its great except the dinner ,they allways said tha is full of reservations , but the you never see people in the restaurants., other them that is good.

Have just returned from a 3 day trip to the Viva Wyndham Maya. The Italian restaurant food was very dissapointing and the general buffet was mediocre. The Mexican restaurant food and service was excellent. Beach is very good but it was annoying to see the beach towels planted on the sunbeds everyday before 8am.

Overall, Viva Wyndam was a great resort for the value you are getting. The food leaves a little to be desired (with the exception of the Mexican restaurant, which was delicious), but the staff were friendly and helpful and very engaged in getting you involved in the TONS of activities they have to offer. We never ventured beyond the resort. Also, though I was not traveling with kids myself, we met a couple who had a young daughter and I was SO impressed by their kids club activities. It's definitely a family friendly resort...so, if you are not able to tolerate a pool full of rambunctious children (especially on the weekends), you can still check out the adults-only "relaxation pool".

hotel super recomendable; la comida toda excelente, variada y sabros, disponible prácticamente a toda hora; la playa de lo mejor; la localización inmejorable: la atención del personal muy buena; eso sí, muy lleno el hotel, por lo tanto poca disponibilidad de camastros en la playa y muy llena la piscina, pero bueno, sólo había que ponerse atentos para lograr un buen lugar. lo único incómodo el personal de algo así como un tiempo compartido que está en la entrada del hotel , frente a la recepción, que te persigue y persigue hasta tal punto de tener que ser cortante y brusco con ellos para que no te molesten más. én la habitación poco lugar para guardar la ropa, pero se las puede uno arreglar, porque vale mucho todo lo demás que ofrece el hotel. muy bueno, buen precio.

Man får meget for pengene. 4 restauranter med god mad og drikke, super beliggenhed - op og ned af stranden og i fin afstand til det fantiske liv i Playa del Carmen. selv om mange af værelserne angives til at være vendt mod haven, er der dog en skøn havudsigt. Der er mange aktiviteter hver dag på hotellet - og de er gratis at deltage i. Enormt mange ansatte sørger for aktiviteterne, herunder også et dagligt aftenshow kl. 21,30 for voksne. Endvidere et dagligt børneshow, som slutter kl. 21,30. Hotellet kan godt kvalificeres til 4 stjerner. Kan helt klart anbefales.

Quería comentar que fuimos un grupo de 9 personas. Reservamos 3 habitaciones superior deluxe con vista al jardín iguales y nos dieron una con vista a la nada (un rincón donde guardaban una piragua). También comentando, a unos le reponían a diario elementos de spa, o elementos para café y bebidas del frigobar. A nosotros ni siquiera nos pusieron nunca en la habitacíon nada de las tres cosas. No sé de qué dependía.

el hotel es excelente y con un servicio completo con actividades todo el dia que hace imposible aburrirse. Quizas la pileta principal deberia ser mas grande para la cantidad de gente que hay en el hotel y la comida podria ser un poquito de mejor calidad. Pero pasamos unas vacaciones increibles. Super recomendable y con una relacion precio/calidad increiblemente buena!

El Viva Wyndham Maya Resort seguramente no es el mejor hotel de la zona, pero cumple con todo lo necesario. En los puntos mas bajos del hotel está la excesiva humedad de las piezas y la calidad de los licores ofrecidos en general. Pero a favor cuentan con un staff muy servicial, comida abundante y buena, una playa fabulosa y a un precio realmente increible. Si vuelvo a Playa del Carmen y quisiera ahorrar un poco de plata en el hotel, no dudaría en volver al Viva Maya. Si buscas algo realmente lujoso y estás dispuesto a pagar de más, entonces mejor busca otra alternativa.

al llegar al hotel que yo contrate por medio de hotels, me enviaron a hospedarme al hotel azteca, que yo no habia contratado, y al otro dia me cambiaron de habitacion a las 3 de la tarde esto llevo una perdida de tiempo, en ir y venir de hotel en hotel, sin contar las horas que nos tubieron parados en recepcion.

Vi var meget tilfreds med opholdet på Viva Wyndham Maya. Vi syntes faktisk det var til mere end 3 stjerner.Alle på hotellet var meget hjælpsomme og altid smilende.
