I would highly recommend the Majestic. As other reviewers have commented, the rooms are small. However, the beautiful interior and excellent customer service more than makes up for it. I will definitely stay here next time I am in Chicago.

Great location to walk to Wriggly-ville. Parking in garage on Lake Shore worked great also.

Close to Wrigley, and bars. Very helpful staff. Quiet street. Rooms are a bit on the small side but very nicely furinshed. Parking around the corner in a upscale buildings garage. Great place at a reasonable price. Didn't feel like walking back from the Cubbie Bear so got a cab, fare was only $6 for 3 people. Yeah its that close Good time

Cute hotel...interior a little dated but clean and comfortable. Great neighborhood - close to Boystown.

It was a lovely little inn -- very convenient, safe and charming close to everything. The room was very small, but comfortable.

Perfect location if you're in town for a Cubs game and want to emerse yourself in a great Chicago neighborhood. The in-room honor bar was cheap (12 oz beers for $2) and the room was small but comfortable. Bed was so-so in terms of comfort and and the floors above were really squeeky. Staff was friendly and helpful. Easy and short walks (less than a mile) to good food (highly recommend Ann Sathers for breakfast - get the cinnamon rolls!) and fun bars (loved Murphy's Bleachers and Sports Corner for gameday drinks with other sports fans). Only downside is that we couldn't find a way to cross the big road and get to the lake. One of my favorite things about Chicago is walking along the lake and we couldn't do that easily from this location. Will stay here again when we go to town for a Cubs game.

nice, comfortable, quiet room. Good bed, nice robe and towels . Really appreciated the soaps, etc in pump bottles ; great replacemnt for all those wasteful, tiny, plastic bottles and tiny soaps. Front desk person was terrific and directed us to several places to eat and purchse needed items. The neighborhood was very walkable and we parked our car on the street about a block away to save the $22 parking garage fee.I would stay here anytime and hope to try the Willows next.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The elevator was being worked on so they carried my bag upstairs for me. The boutique hotel has a local feel to it and I slept well on the bed. It's a cute neighborhood and about a 10 minute walk from the train. For the price, I would stay here again. I also appreciated the assortment of cheaply-priced snacks and drinks (including alcohol) in the room.

It is a very nice hotel. Everyone was very nice and helpful.. The room was nice. It was a little small. The honor bar was very reasonable. Thank goodness it was there. I was starving! So I helped myself to the snacks. The bed was very comfortable. Only bad thing is they do not have there own parking. You have to park a block over and pay for.24hrs. You do get a $6 discount from the parking garage. Even with the discount, it was $22. Then again the majority of parking Chicago is expensive.

For the price, location and parking available it was a perfect spot! The staff even stood out in the rain down the block to send taxis down to the hotel for not only us but 2 other groups waiting to go out for the night. The front desk staff were exceptionally helpful, personable and professional. Namely, Richard. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks Majestic! The name lives up to the service!!

Second visit. Love the location. Nice boutique hotel. Rooms not as large as in chain hotels but just right for our needs.

The price was right in that I was simply looking for a place to lay my head. The room was clean although perhaps a little dusty. It seems that the room I was in was the "hotels.com" room as I read another review that mentioned they were in the room right next to the elevator (the elevator is pretty much in your room right on the other side of the wall from the bed). I didn't hear the elevator as I am a heavy sleeper. Make no mistake though the room was small.

Very nice hotel. Will stay here again if we go back to Chicago.Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are a bit small, but it gives it a cozy feel. Bathroom is spacious. Comfortable beds, clean, not over priced. Valet parking a block away for $22. Nice neighborhood. Close to many restaurants. Wrigley field and The Metro venue in walking distance if weather is decent, or easy enough to flag a cab. Really enjoyed our stay.

What a great hotel...small, personable, cozy. Beautifully furnished and excellent service. Great location in Wrigleyville, easy access to shopping and entertainment. Also easy to find for visitors to Chicago!

A true boutique, authentic and kind. Casual, but formal sensations, echoing an era of intrigue and privacy. Perfect for quiet and calm. Complimentary breakfast was sugary, sufficient, and generous. A great choice, no nonsense.

I have stayed at The Majestic Hotel many times and have always been satisfied. They offer a great complimentary breakfast and the mini prices are the cheapest I have ever found anywhere in the world.

The beds were comfortable, and the place was quiet. This isn't a trendy hotel but I liked how calm it was. The rooms were small, but fine if you're not traveling in a big group. Definitely wouldn't recommend the place for kids. The rooms were also really hot, but cracking the window fixed that (at least on a very cold night in November). My room was ready before check-in time, which was great because I arrived early. This was very convenient to express bus routes downtown and in a safe neighborhood, but still out of the way enough for those who want to step away from the bustle.

Received offer of upgrade to suite for $20 at check-in. Did so, and room was large, comfortable and clean. Some of the windows were drafty but understandable as we were getting the edge of Hurricane Sandy at the time. You're close to Lake Michigan, Wrigleyville, Cubs stadium and multitudinous restaurants and bars. Can't imagine better value in Chicago.

Other than old carpets and some of the furniture in the room, the bed was great and the bathroom was updated which I appreciated. the in room amenities were good and I especially appreciate the honor bar being reasonable in price. It shows the Majestic cares about their guests. I will be back.

Excellent hotel. Room was next to elevator so bell rang for door through the night and early morning!

I had a great stay at the Majestic and will stay there again. The location was good and the room was very clean and comfortable -- definitely no bedbugs which is a major criterion for me! The hotel is nice overall, though the finishes are older everything is very clean, so it is not an issue. The continental breakfast was pretty standard and perfectly adequate -- yogurt, bagels, etc. I though it was a very nice place at a great place relative to other hotels I looked at.

Our room 109 was way too small. We had the elevator where a closet would be. Heard the elevator run and the elevator bell all night. Floors above us creaked when people walked-also kept us up. Very nice staff. Near lake

Very friendly staff and very comfortable room...a bit small but quite nice and close to all this great city has to offer...my fiancee and I loved it and would definitely stay there again...

...our room was extremely small. We have a walk-in closet in our home that has more room than the sleeping area in our room had. Otherwise, we had a very good experience. The staff was excellent and very helpful. The breakfast was the normal continental breakfast, but was very well prepared and laid out; and was kept stocked at all times.

Very clean, very comfortable, very convenient. Great Chicago atmosphere and a nice, safe walk to Wrigley, nightlife, and the lakeshore parks.

Wonderful hotel. The only downside is the parking garage - which is located a few blocks away and not marked very well.

Better than expected, am very pleased...If I am ever in Chicago again, would stay here again and would recommend. Very helpful staff.

We loved the neighborhood. Quiet and beautiful. Walking distance to lots of great restaurants and a bus stop just a half a block away. We had queen suite, although it may not have been as "roomy" as a name brand newer hotel, but we much preferred the beauty and quaintness of the room at the Majestic. The decorations were tasteful and fit the style of the hotel. It was nice to stay in a room that didn't look like any/every other room we had stayed in before. The staff was super nice and eager to help us with the bus, dining suggestion or whatever else we need. The room had two flat screen TV's, a mini fridge and a microwave (queen suite) and was cool and clean when we arrived.

The Majestic is a small historical hotel, in a great location. The room was small, but very comfortable. Breakfast was good. Parking on the street was a bit challenging - however it was also available through the hotel for an additional charge.

Very pleasant staff, good accommodations; and near several attractions in the North Side and Lakeview area...including Wrigley Field and Lincoln Park Zoo.

The front desk staff leaves much to be desired.... I was charged twice.... you may need to watch over somebody's shoulder to ensure a correct bill!

The staff was pleasant. The location for us was great--walking distance to friends and to the waterfront. The "continental" breakfast was more than expected.

Great, exceptional boutique hotel close to Lake Shore Drive and Lakeview neighborhood. One of my favourite small hotels.

The Majestic was everything we had read about: In a quiet neighborhood but near the lakeshore. Nearby secure valet parking. Quiet hallways and rooms with comfortable beds. Good self-serve free continental breakfast in lovely fireside lounge. (TV traysor rollaway tables would be helpful to eat at) We only used the "dry bar" for a granola bar, but noted many snacks & beverage items that were very reasonably priced. (needs some chocolates) Wished there was catered room service to enable eating breakfast in and/or a microwave. The hotel itself was a real gem and was relatively inexpensive for the big city! We would definitely come back & try out the bus to the aquarium which we heard comes nearby. We did not use the subway this time but heard it is a few blocks down. We chose to stay away from the sounds of the subway so that is a small price to pay! Thanks!

We really liked the atmosphere and the neighborhood surrounding the hotel and in additon the indoor (heated) parking facility was convenient. Rooms were smaller than most hotel rooms however the comfort and convenience of the rooms was very satisfying. We will definitely stay there again!

I spent 5 days in Chicago in the dead of winter for campus visits with my son. A junior suite gave us two televisions, a separate sitting space with desk, two double beds, microwave, refrigerator and sink. Also a fully stocked mini fridge and some extra snacks. The Jewel Osco was right around the corner and we stopped by several times to get snacks for the room. We ordered from an italian restaurant recommended by Mona at the front desk, and it was great. The Improv Olympics, Wrigley field, and the nailshop where I got a great manicure for $12, all within easy walking distance. A good number of bars and restauants as well. It's a longer hike to the Addison stop on the red line, but still only about a 15 - 20 minute walk. We preferred to take a taxi most days, but I think if the stop was closer we might have saved a little money by using the trains. The breakfast is very convenient, and we used it almost everyday. It's basically an assortment of cold breakfast foods, not a hot breakfast. 24 hour coffee and tea also came in handy, and they have cookies in the late afternoon. The neighborhood is lovely, the staff is super friendly and the robes were super comfy. We had a great time.

Very thin walls. We could hear everything going on everywhere. All conversations, all "activities" all day all night. Door handle fell off the door 3 times.

We were very pleased with this little hotel. Although our room was very small, it was OK because we spent most of the time at our son's condo for Thanksgiving. We were only in our room late at night. Was very nice having the continental breakfast in the morning so that coffee was readily available. The family room was very cozy.
