Best Western Albergo San Marco - البندقية

Great location just off the spectacular Piazza San Marco. Good restaurants nearby, and a pleasant walk to the Rialto and Dorsoduro areas. Room was small but comfortable. Breakfast was good.

The location is the best thing about it, being right behind Piazza San Marco. The best way to get there is to take the waterbus to Piazza, then walk behind the square. From the bridge you can see the Hard Rock Cafe 2 bridges over. Staff friendly & bar was nice and convenient. Room was large, but it's the classic old school Italian: hard bed, bad decor & toiletries. But for the price, it's a steal and we would definitely stay there again. Ask for a room away from the main walk. The bread & linen deliveries came very early & woke us up each morning around 5am.

The staff is amazingly rude + the rooms are really small and cramped up! Only thing nice is the location... other than that is AWFUL

Great location, close to the vaporetto station and only 2 stairs to get ,with luggage from station , to hotel. Shower area too small.

Couldn't find a better location than being right on San Marco. Rooms were small, but it was perfect for a few nights. We paid 6 Euro per person for the morning breakfast and it was a good deal. The only issue we had was internet. Although it was advertised as free internet, they only gave an hour or sometimes other guest have used the quota. Overall, it was a good stay for us.

a clean and well positioned hotel. reasonable prices. very clean rooms. fresh towels everyday. helpful reception staff.

Location was excellent, right near San Marco square. Reception was also very helpful. Gondola rides by San Marco and Rialto are very expensive, but we found them 40 euros cheaper on the smaller canals

This hotel is perfectly located just a few meters from Plaza San Marcos. We had an awesome room with excellent view but there is 1 thing to consider, some rooms are not exactly on the same floor as the elevator. Some sections have up and down stairs (within the same floor) making it hard if you have heavy luggage and multiple pieces. If you are on the 5th floor, keep in mind the elevator only makes it to the 4th floor! The reason for the lower score regarding room comfort was because our A/C was broken and they couldn't get it fixed. Just so you know, August in Venice is extremely hot and humid and mosquitoes come out after sunset! The hallway was cooler than inside the room! A fan was provided to fix the problem but it still felt like a sauna in there.

Being from the United States we were unprepared for the age and size of a hotel in Venice. Our rooms were so small we were unable to walk around the bed and the staff did not understand English enough to perform the smallest of tasks. However the location was perfect and we enjoyed Venice for the 4 days we stayed there. We would not book this hotel again but it did not take away from the charm of Venice.

The location cannot be beat. The ambiance of the hotel is nice. The front desk staff can be surly and unhelpful. The air-conditioning in the room was not up to the August heat. While I had prepaid my reservation and had the paperwork to prove it, I and others were told we would have to pay again on check out. It took a call from Hotels to straighten this out.

This hotel is 75 feet and one canal bridge away from St. Marks square - you can walk most any where easily from here. This is all it has going for it. The rooms are incredibly small (think 6"-8" between bed and wall to walk) - we had a difficult time finding a place to put two suitcases down. The beds are rock hard torture devices. The bathroom smelled horribly - but many budget hotels in Venice have this problem (keep the drains and door closed). And the front desk help were marginally polite and ignored our request to reserve a porter and water taxi. If you are an independent traveller who does not rely on assistance from the hotel, limit the hours you sleep and bring pain killers for your back, the location of this hotel might make up for everything. If you are looking for comfort and service - you might want to reconsider.

Hotel is comfortable considering its age. Still had about 20 stairs after we got out of the lift. More direction is needed to help people find the hotel. It is hard enough dragging your luggage over the cobblestones to it, without the problem of not really knowing where you are going. We were lucky enough to have an elderly gentleman who had lived in Venice his whole life, take us to the hotel, when we were lost. My best advice - travel to Venice with minimal luggage, as you will probably have to drag it a long way, and up and down a lot of stairs. Don't miss a visit to Doge Palace. It is only 2 minutes from this hotel, and is a fabulous way to spend a couple of hours. Shopping is great - but only if you can afford designer brands. There is nothing else available in Venice, so go with a big wallet.

The Best Western is a nice hotel with a GREAT location...however, when we checked in, we were told there was no room, and they walked us half way across town, bags in tow to a scummy hotel off a back alley that they claimed was also a 3-star hotel. We complained and said this was not acceptable...and were then hauled back across town to a hotel 1/2 block from the Best Western where they found rooms for us. The hotel itself was great, and you can't beat the location, just one block from San Marco Square, two blocks from the Hard Rock Cafe...just beware if they may try to relocate you to a back alley.

The hotel is in a great location! It is a one minute walk from Piazza San Marco which has most of the major attractions in Venice! The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. When we first checked in however, our first room smelled horrible! We asked to change rooms and they immediately changed us even upgrading us to a suite (because it was the only room they had left). The room and bathroom were spacious. Everything seemed clean and it was nicely decorated. The breakfast was decent but not great.

excellent location

Overall this was a great place to stay, the main sights were right there but so were the affordable food options. My one negative comment is that if you don't get up before enough people, you may have to take a cold shower in the morning.

they need to change some personal from front desk

40 yards away from San Marco square. Lovely, quiet room. Well air-conditioned. Nice breakfast. Pleasant, helpful service from the front desk. Was a perfect home base for exploration of Venice.

O Hotel esta muito bem localizado, a limpeza é boa, o atendimento eu não gostei muito, na recepção e no café da manhã.

Vi kom lørdag ettermiddag og bodde der gjennom helgen til mandag. Grunnen til dårlig score, er at det kun var kaldt vann gjennom hele helgen. Vi tok opp dette på søndagmorgen, men fikk beskjed om at vi kunne stå opp tidligere. Ved utsjekking dagen etterpå, overhørte vi et indisk par som tok opp det samme spørsmålet og de fikk ganske bryskt beskjed om at de kunne gjerne fått gått over til nabohotellet på motsatt side av gaten for å dusje. Slett service og dårlig oppførsel av resepepsjonspersonalet. Hadde i det minste forventet en noe mer ydmyk holdning. Ingen beklagelser der i gården. Vi har bodd der en gang tidligere og var stort sett fornøyd, men det skjer neppe igjen. Madrassen på min side av dobbeltsengen var for øvrig ødelagt så jeg lå "nede i et dalsøkk". Mer enn ukomfortabelt. Surt personale i frokostrestauranten. Helt ulikt det vi tidligere opplevde. Blir nok siste gangen vi bor på dette hotellet på tross av en utmerket beliggenhet.

Lo mejor de este hotel es su ubicacion, esta a solo unos pasos de la Plaza de San Marcos. El precio es muy bueno y los cuartos estan comodos. Habia leido reviews que decian que las personas que lo atienden no son amigables, pero la realidad fue diferente. Nos atendieron muy bien y el personal fue muy atento con nosotros. Definitivamente regresaria a este hotel.

Accogliente,slenzioso, pulito,comodissimo come posizione.

A melhor localização de Veneza - ao lado da Pça São Marco. O conforto deste hotel superou a nossa expectativa - é bem confortavel, quarto grande, cama king, banheiro grande. O serviço foi prestativo - nos deixaram deixar as malas na recepção por algum tempo para que pudessemos aproveitar a cidade por mais alguns momentos. O cafe da manhã é muito bom.

Um dos pontos fortes do hotel é a localização, muito próximo da Piazza de San Marco.

Parfait , trés bien placé pratiquement sur la place St Marc , petit déjeuner trés correct pour 6 euro , chambre petite mais confortable

Hotellet ligger perfekt til i forhold til de fleste severdighetene i Venezia. Det er gangavstand fra Vannbuss stoppested - San Marco om du kommer med denne fra flyplassen. Du går ganske enkelt over Marcusplassen, til venstre under arkaden med butikker til du kommer til en gjennomgang som er merket med Albergo. Vi var 3 personer, og fikk to rom med forbindelse, og felles bad/wc. .... og det var velfungerende aircondition. Frokosten var veldig bra, om enn de ansatte ikke alltid hadde noe smil å by på. Hotellet kan absolutt anbefales.

hotel très bien placé à venise, confort moyen, beaucoup de choses en panne dans les chambres... SERVICE LEGER, prendre le petit déjeuner est un défi, pas de place, une employée pour tout faire, plus grand chose à manger a partir de 9h, le seul avantage... l'emplacement à 20m de la place st marc

Vi var to gode venninner som ønsket å oppleve Venezia på egen hånd. Dette hotellet hadde perfekt beliggenhet i forhold til Markusplassen. Hyggelig, lite rom for to. Ikke noe å si på prisen.

Marcuspladsen. Hotellet er lille, receptionen virker rodet, og det trænger i allerhøjeste grad til renovering. Tanken leder hen på om man pludselig får overboen ned i hovedet. Udvalg af morgenmad er OK, men kvaliteten lader noget tilbage at ønske. Rengøring er nogenlunde og personalet lige så.

On a reserve 2 chambres non- fumeure, mais une chambre sentee du fume enormement!!!! On a demande de faire le changement: a l'acceuille on nous a promis de faire cela le matin de lendemain, mais rien etais fait et personne s'occupee de cet situation!!! Choffage dans une chambre n'etais pas terrible: salle de bain etais comme frigo, baterrie ne marche pas. Et dans le chambre on a eu seulment le climat avec l'aire chaud: il fesait le bruit, mais si vous l'arete- pas de l'air chaud.

hotel bien situé, mais sans aucun caractère. Nous avons eu une toute petite chambre qui donnait sur une petite cour. Impossible d'ouvrir la fenetre tellement cette cour sentait mauvais. L'odeur de pourri impregnait la chambre.

Bem localizado, acessível a tudo que interessa numa cidade encantadora como Veneza.

Everything was as expected, rooms are rather small but clean. Can't get any better location in Venice. 50 m of the centre. I recommend this hotel!! Very cosy. 8/10
