La Mariposa Hotel - كيبوس

You cannot beat the location of this hotel. Absolutely stunning views of the Pacific from the restaurant and pool area. This alone is worth the stay. Check in was a little slow and the staff wasn't as nice as other places we stayed during the week. The breakfast buffet was good but the food otherwise was not great and overpriced. We opted to eat out in other places. Having said that, I would recommend the hotel if you enjoy relaxing by the pool with a million dollar view.

Fabulous location and stunning view on hillside above the beaches and Manuel Antonio park. Lovely infinity pool with wrap around view. Room was in main building with spare but nice furnishings with some Costa Rican character and terra cotta tile floors. Beds were a little hard. Bathroom was small and could definitely use updating but was fine. Spiral staircases on exterior of building to get to room floors was a bit challenging for someone afraid of heights but worth it for the view.

This was my second trip to costa rica first stay at mariposa. The location is great. About 5 Klm to Manuel Antonio national park. The staff is over good. Bartender was very nice. The staff greets you with a nice cold drink. The front desk is very small. So they can't see you when you drive up hense no help with the bags. My only complaint would be the beds. Very uncomfortable. They are hard and so are the pillows. The spiral stairs are noisy so you can hear every time guess come up and down the stairs. I would sty here again per the location. P. S restaurant has the best lobster I have ever had. It's pricy but well worth it.

my wife and i spent three nights there, we took my parents and we had a good time, the staff, with the exception of a couple rotten apples, was very pleasant, i had a bad first impression at our arrival since there was no one there to help us out with our bags, or someone to direct us to the front desk, which after driving for three hours plus would've been very helpful and welcoming, but no. However they made up for this by upgrading both my parents' and our rooms to parcial ocean view and full ocean view respectively. over all our experience there was good, and the only reason why i wouldnt stay there again is their uuncomfortable matresses, fix that and i would definetaly stay there again. free wi fi in the bedrooms was also nice and convinient.

The view from our room was spectacular! (53) Absolutely breathtaking! The people who worked there were very nice. Small little issues, such as calling the front desk for extra pillows and never getting them. We asked the next day again and it was taken care of immediately. The control for our fridge was broken, so everything we put in froze. We didn't complain, as the beverages thawed quite quickly ounce we went outside on our balcony. A little bit of a walk uphill to get from the main road to the hotel entrance but since we are on a mountain this was to be expected. Breakfast buffet was your typical buffet and nothing to write home about and the one dinner we had was very good - Seafood platter for two. We chose to eat at other restaurants in the area for most meals. Pools were a little green - due to algae but nothing too serious. All in all we were very pleased with this hotel and would recommend it again.

Beautiful hotel with extrordinary views, Hotel staff very helpful and courteous. A bit pricy for the quality of the room I stayed in, however pools and grounds were wonderful. I would stay again despite price because the views and facilities were so nice.

First time staying at La Mariposa, and it was wonderful. The room was clean, very nice, and had a balcony with an ocean view, but that wasn't what made our stay so great. It was all about the pool. They have this gorgeous infinity pool with a 180 degree view overlooking the ocean. We spent an entire day lounging, swimming, and having tropical drinks (with umbrella's of course) and food (the lunch menu is a great deal, very good food for very reasonable prices). That was probably one of my favorite days of the vacation. The staff was nice, in fact I'd like to mention Steven, the pool bar tender, he was super friendly and took great care of us. He even taught me and my wife the basics for playing pool (billiards) which is right by the pool. Their complimentary breakfasts were very good (they were real breakfasts, not just some pastries and scrambled eggs) and you got to eat outside with that view. The wi-fi was free, and available at the pool area (perfect!), but the signal strength was very low in our room. One more thing I'd like to add, and this is important because I am...frugal...is that all of the prices were very reasonable. Drinks, food (let me repeat, lunch menu is great), and even their gift shop were all fantastic. We actually bought the majority of our souvenirs at their gift shop (a little ashamed to admit we did price checking at other gift shops in quepos and manuel antonio). I gave this hotel a 5, and after reading this review I'm sure you can see why, I was just very happy with my stay, and totally would come back and stay here again. Thanks La Mariposa!

This hotel seems to have no decorations... No artwork in rooms and even the blinds are outdated. We felt like we were staying in a hotel room. The whole time it seemed like there was no management on site and all the workers were younger than 25... IT even took 2 people to fry my eggs in the morning!!!! and still took more that 15 mins... Hotel left a lot to be desired for. All that being said: The view almost made up for it all. It seems that this hotel has one of the best views of the manuel antiono region!!!! unbelievable everytime and the pool was amazing...

This was a our 2nd stay in the last 12 months at LM. This time we got a room in the main bldg, beautiful sunsets right from your balcony. Great views from the dining area and pool. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Room was very comfortable. It is a hilly area so lot's of climbing. Lot's of good places to eat in walking distance. Our fav is El Avion, an old C-123 plane converted into a restaurant on the hillside overlooking the Pacific. Other places as well with good food and music. Manuel Antonio National Park is only 3 km down the road.

I have stayed at La Mariposa twice now and my view of the place hasn't changed. Every single employee at this hotel goes out of their way to make your experience as good as possible. The views can't be beat in Manuel Antonio. Pay extra for the better view because it is worth every penny! The grounds and pool are beautiful and the food is very fresh and delicious. The only downside to this hotel- it is quite old school which makes the place charming but certain little things need updating like shower heads, fixtures, furniture, pillows, etc, I think with a few simple upgrades the hotel would be a perfect.

We had a fantistic time at La Mariposa. The hotel has the best views in the area and very friendly, helpful staff. As one of the older hotels in the area it has a lot more character than some of the high end, new build hotels - although this could be a negativa for some.

La Mariposa is a great choice for a memorable stay. Once in the area I checked out some of the competitive hotels and feel it still has the best combination of facilities, particularly the killer pool area. Staff will bend over backwards to help make your stay and any related activities perfect.

Our friends reserve the garden view, which was moderate and nicer! The view is amazing! Our room was very simple .

This was our first trip to Costa Rica, especially Manuel Antonio area. La Mariposa, is a very relaxing hotel. The staff were super nice. They were ready to help and/or assist in any way possible. Other bars and hotels are walking distance. The view is incredible. Every room has a view. We had room 29 and it had an adjoing balcony but it was huge. rooms 28 and 29 are the only rooms with the extended balcony. you will love it because othe 360 view.

Hotel Mariposa was great. The staff was extremely friendly and rooms were comfortable and clean. I definitely recommend anyone who goes to Manuel Antonio to stay at the Mariposa. The restaurant staff were friendly and quick on their service. Swimming pools were clean and warm. Costa Rica is beautiful.

Great hotel with a great staff. Ate at the restaurant a few times, and the staff was super friendly. Food is little on the pricier side (compared to normal Costa Rican cost), but good.

This hotel has an amazing view, and you should definitely come look out on their patio. They upgraded our room upon check in but was irate to find out they didn't offer free wifi after reading in the description that they did. They nickel and dime you, they even charge you for local calls. A walk to the beach is about 30 mins (give or take a few). It is close to the bus stops though. There were ants galore in our room! We put the privacy please note on the door and the staff (I assume) kept moving it to inside the key slot everytime we put it on the handle. Don't know what that was about, but found it sort of rude. After spending time in Manuel Antonio and getting subpar services at this pricey hotel, I would definitely reccommend going some where else, some where that has more friendly staff and doesn't try to charge you for everything, include LOCAL calls.

I loved, loved this hotel! The hotel has a very open, airy feel which is exactly what you want when your view is this fantastic. We had a full ocean view room with a very large balcony . Very calm, very relaxing with out of this world views. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and very patient with our slaughter of their beautiful language. You will love being entertained by the small white faced money's that play and chase each other on the red tile roof tops of the hotel. We tried a few of the local restaurants but kept coming back to the one at the La Mariposa which had just the right atmosphere and the food is the best around in my opinion. I was reluctant to book this hotel simply because one of the travel review books said "Don't bother" I couldn't agree less. I was on a trip to visit my daughter who is living and working in Costa Rica for a year and she really wanted to go this area because of everything she had heard locally about Manuel Antonio National Park and the fantastic beaches. She had also heard wonderful things from the locals about the La Mariposa. We love this hotel and hope to return someday soon! J.S. Lexington, KY

My wife and I just returned from a trip to CR, finishing with 3 nights in Manuel Antonio, and were very happy with our stay at La Mariposa. We had booked a garden view room and were upgraded on check-in to an oceanview, with a stunning view of the peninsula that the national park is on and the islets around it. The room was spacious and clean, the grounds were lovely, and the restaurant food and service were excellent. The dining room is an open air patio, with plenty of cover for the rainy evenings (they move the tables out under the stars on clear nights), and the breakfast buffet is good costa rican typical (gallo pinto, fruit, plantains) with breakfast meats and omelets made to order. A good value, good location (up in the hills where there's a breeze) and 4 shuttles a day to the beach. Pros: restaurant, upgraded bathrooms (at least in room 21), very nice infinity pool, hot tub and swim up bar, good location near other restaurants, an ATM and market nearby. Cons: very firm bed (true everywhere we stayed), balcony rail seemed flimsy, AC could barely handle the size of the room, and the shuttle van is not marked w/ hotel name so we missed it when we tried to catch it from the beach after walking down to the beach from the hotel. The hotel is about 3-4k from the beach, but we preferred that due to the outstanding views and breezes. And a coffee maker in the room would have been nice.

We juts returned from a short stay at La Mariposa in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. We fell in love with the property, the location, the views, the room and the people. The hospitality was amazing, the food was excellent and the views incredible. We can't wait to return and recommend La Mariposa highly.

The service was great; however, the beds and pillows were not comfortable at all! The breakfast was fantastic but the air conditioning was not very cold and with that heat, air conditioning is needed! If you want to see a gorgeous sunset and see capuchin monkeys on the roof, this is the place for you!

The primier ocean view room is just about average, the mattress was low quality. The safe at the room did not work and after telling the receptionist 3 times, they send us a safe box which was portable. There is only one computer at this hotel at the breakfast area which has internet connection but could not send emails.

Manuel Antonio is absolutely gorgeous. At first, we thought we might spend some time in Quepos, the town close to the park, but don't bother. There isn't much worth seeing there at all. Stick around the resort area near Manuel Antonio, which is up on the hill. The prices are tourist prices, but it's a thousand times nicer than anything in Quepos. La Mariposa is a great hotel overall. GORGEOUS ocean views at breakfast, great location near the National Park-- it's close to anything you will want to do in the Manuel Antonio Area. Beautiful, large infinity pool with view. Plus free computer use with internet access. The free wifi is only in the breakfast and lobby area, not in rooms. It's definitely overpriced for the room you get, which is very very standard, but I think that's unavoidable in the Manuel Antonio area, which is very pricey overall. The only annoying thing about the hotel is that there were little millipedes ALL OVER our room. They'd come out early evening, and the cleaning staff would clean them during the day. Next evening they'd be out again. There were about 25 millipedes in our room at any given time. They are harmless, and it's probably just a part of being near the rainforest, so we didn't complain. We just accepted it as part of the experience. If you are bothered by that type of thing, you might want to be forewarned. Of course I have no idea if this is just a problem at La Mariposa or anywhere you stay in Manuel Antonio. The millipedes were not a big deal though considering how amazing and unique Manuel Antonio is. You have to go to the beaches inside the park-- they are gorgeous. Visit more than one. The monkeys and raccoons on the beach were fun to watch. El Avion restaurant has beautiful views, but the usual tourist prices and slow service. The food I ordered was good though, so I'm glad we went. La Hacienda had a wonderful expat atmosphere and live music, but the food was not so great, and again, the usual high tourist prices. We had planned this trip for sometime and loving butterflies we wanted to stay at this hotel that we had heard would be ideal.f La Mariposa exceeded our expectations. A beautiful place to relax, sit back, float along the pool while listening to the sounds of birds and squirrel monkeys hopping along the trees by the pool bar in the evening. The ocean views are spectacular and the howler monkeys at night really give you a wake up call if you have never heard them before. Overall an A++ stay. The rooms and the bathrooms were very clean. Attention to being "Earth Friendly" was seen throughout the hotel. The buffet breakfast offered a medley of choices to satisfy every palate and centrally located within a short distance to the Manuel Antonio National Park and Beaches.

The location of the hotel is absolutely beautiful - the views are stunning. The service was hit or miss - most of their staff was extremely helpful, friendly and accommodating, although there were one or two that seemed put out by any requests. Guests are mainly comprised of families and couples, but the views alone make it worth it for anyone to go there. Definitely recommended!

LaMariposa was one of the best places we have ever stayed. The ocean views from our room were spectacular. The photos on the website don't do the scenery justice. Everything was great. The food, the pools, the room, the swim up bar, the sunrises and sunsets and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We were sad to have to leave and are already planning our next trip back.

Our stay at La Miraposa was fine. The room was adequate but not special. What was most valuable is the views from both our room and the restaurant/bar/pool areas. The sunsets there were truly breathtaking. The breakfast that was included was delicious too. Sitting by the infinity pool was very enjoyable. We were also able to see beautiful flowers, floiage and watch birds there. There is a shuttle to the beach area downtown. I would prefer the run it more often than 8:30, 10, 2 and 4. It is a very difficult walk to the beach and a taxi costs $6.

The hotel itself (building, etc) is average or above average, but the view is simply spectacular. We met several groups of friends in Manuel Antonio and La Mariposa has the best view of any of the other hotels. The restaurant was also nice. It's a bit up on the hill, so you'll have to take a shuttle or cab to get to the beach or national park, but the view is totally worth it.

View from the room was very nice, I did not even need TV, that was not working anyway. Staff is very friendly. Restaurant could be better.

Great facility in an absolutely awesome location and perfect low key service.

We stayed in an ocean view room in the third level... it was in the older part of the hotel. You cannot beat the views from this hotel! The pool is great, the swim up bar is fantastic with excellents drinks and breakfast was really good too. My only complaint is the spiral metal staircase that you have to run up and down. I guess it's good though as it helped us burn off all the food and drink we were having. Also, the room was very big with great terrace but the decor is very dated. Overall would definitely stay here again.

La Mariposa was a wonderful experience. The hotel itself it beautiful with a wraparound infinity pool in the jungle overlooking the ocean and our ocean view room had a lovely terrace with a hammock. It's very well located to the center of town yet peaceful. The upper pool includes a bar you can swim to. My main recommendation for them would be better service. At times I felt the staff could have been more efficiently attentive given the price point. Also - our bed was two double beds attached together which didn't make for the most comfortable sleep. Overall though, I would definitely recommend this place and on a whole it exceeded my expectations.

Grosse, saubere Zimmer. Übersichtliches Hotel an absoluter Traumlage (umwerfende Sicht aufs Meer, den Dschungel und den Nationalpark). Schöner Infinity Pool ebenfalls mit Traumaussicht. Grosser Jacuzzi. Sehr gutes Restaurant. Ruhiges gediegenes Hotel - nicht kindergeeignet. Achtung: Standartzimmer haben KEINE Aussicht auf Garten oder Meer/Bucht sondern geben auf einen Parkplatz. Aber sie sind gross und man ist eh selten im Zimmer.

Excellent hotel pour un court sejour, mais pas de refrigerateur dans ma chambre, cela m'a etonne vu le prix de la chambre. Tres bonne cuisine. Seul bemol: un peu loin de la plage mais il y a une navette qui vous y emmene le matin et l'après-midi.

Ett fantastiskt hotell i Manuel Antonio nära regnskogen. Vi valde ett rum högst upp i huvudbyggnaden med terrass. Vi hade en vidsträckt utsikt över Stilla Havet. Restaurangen var av högsta klass. Restaurangens chef kom själv ut och undrade vad vi tyckte om maten och berättade om menyn nästa kväll och frågade om vi hade några särskilda önskemål. Vi brukar gå ut och äta på olika restauranger men nu blev alla middagar på hotellet. Även annan personal var mycket trevliga, både i restaurangen, i barer och städpersonal. Kommer vi tillbaks till Costa Rica så åker vi säkert tillbaks till Manuel Antonio för att få tillbringa några dagar till på hotellet.

La vue est vraiment exceptionnelle, le cadre est féerique, la chambre confortable et très lumineuses avec grande salle de bain, l'accés à manuel antonio est à 10 mn en voiture, nombreux restaurants à proximité.Il n'y pas d'ascenseur pour les étages, c'est étonnant pour ce type d'établissement...

La Mariposa var en herlig opplevelse. Hotellet er mye vakrere enn bildet vi så ga inntrykk av og svømmebassenget som "smelter" sammen med Stillehavet nedenfor er et syn for Guder. Beliggenheten til Mariposa er uslåelig, der man inntar sin frokost på terrassen med utsyn over stillehavet så langt øyet rekker , og bugnende regnskog, de vakreste trær og planter ned mot en av Costa Ricas vakreste strender. Dette er ren luksus for øyet, kropp og sjel. Fantastiske solnedganger hører til opplevelsen. Ved svømmebassengbaren, i et aldeles utrolig flott tre, bor et iguana par og hunnen er svært sosial. Kommer gjerne ut og får seg en bananbit. Fra rommet /bungalowen hadde vi den samme utrolige utsikten og capuchine aper kom klatrende oppover og satt seg på taket. Så tok de sats og slang seg ut i luften før de landet langt nede i et av de kraftige palmebladene. Veldig, veldig, gøy å se på! Luften er full av regnskogens lyder, albatrosser seiler over himmelen og pelikaner hviler på klipper ved stranden. Oppholdet på La Mariposa var intet mindre enn et tropisk eventyr, med all den komfort vi kunne ønske oss (med unntak av en vannkoker til te/ kaffe på rommet) Hotelbuss tar deg ned gratis til strandområdene, maten på hotellet smaker godt, og de har to gode restauranter å by på. Vi traff morsomme mennesker, som ble våre venner. Vennlige serviceinnstilte mennesker på hotellet her også, som overalt i Costa Rica. Rommet var stort og luftig, med nydelig bad/dusj, både airconditon og vifte. Det kan være nødvendig her, i denne delen av Costa Rica er det svært varmt, med regnskogene så tett på, men det er jo aldri langt til et basseng! eller havet. Hvis dette er et 3,5 stjerners hotel kommer jeg aldri noensinne til å ha behov for et 5 stjerners!! Anbefales på det varmeste!
