Other than one small glitch - no fresh towels brought when they turned down the room on the second night - the hotel was fabulous - elegant and luxurious but not at all pretentious - everything you could ask for and very centrally located.

We loved it so much for our first time to Nashville we are going back!

The Hermitage Hotel is the boss! Totally enjoyed the stay.

Couldnt have been more pleased with the service and amenities. Everyone went out of their way to make our stay special. A true gem.

A fantastic room in a beautiful hotel. Excellent service from the friendly staff.

I appreciated the fact that this is not a cookie-cutter hotel and that's why I chose to stay here rather than Hilton, or Hyatt etc. Everyone we encountered was friendly and spoke to us. Our room was very spacious and overlooked the capitol building. I loved that we could choose afternoon housekeeping, as it suited our schedules better than morning. There was afternoon tea and cookies in the lobby, which was very welcome after a day of touring around the city. A few negatives: the amount of noise from traffic at night was disheartening. It sounded like work was going on at all hours. Trucks backing up and down and banging. We were on the 6th floor too, where I thought we would be insulated a bit more from the noise. Also, as another reviewer mentioned, the lobby was closed off to the public for a private function both Fri and Sat nights for parties and a wedding. I didn't think that would matter but it was a little annoying. These negatives didn't really detract from a lovely stay at the Hermitage. All and all, I would recommend this hotel.

This is a beautiful historic hotel. The architecture, rooms, staff, food, cleanliness and comfort were all outstanding. I travel extensively - 75 - 100 nights per year, and this is an excellent hotel. Not inexpensive, but definitely worth the it.

We had a wonderful stay at The Hermitage. All the staff were helpful, friendly and welcoming. The Hotel was situated close to all the action and attractions. The amenities were excellent. The hotel has been beautifully restored.

It's the kind of hotel room I could stay in for a week and be happy. I really don't have one bad thing to say about the entire experienceIn all of the historic hotels I have ever stayed in, this was the cleanest and most modern. Everything was great.

Must see if you enjoy the beauty of a building. The lobby was stunning and the room was terrific. The view from our room was wonderful and the everyone we encountered were helpful, polite and just plain nice. It was everything I had hoped for.

Although our visit was just for one night, the Hermitage didn't disappoint. Beautiful hotel and walking distance to the clubs and nightlife.

This a gorgeous old hotel,beautifully maintained.The rooms are large,exceptionally clean and beautifully appointed.The bathroom is exceptional.An absolute pleasure to stay in this hotel and well worth the expense.You get what you pay for.On the down side the food in the Capitol Grille was grim and very expensive for what you received.The location is very close to Broadway and The Ryman Auditorium.

The stay was fine. The only thing wrong was the price gouging the hotel did because of the NFL home game

This hotel far exceeded our expectations - everything was perfect. The room was very clean and had a very comfortable feel to it. It seems they thought of everything, from the fully stocked mini-bar to the extra toiletries in the bathroom. They even sat out a pet bed, bowls, and bottled water for our cat who was traveling with us! The staff was very attentive to any of our requests and always acted like they were genuinely pleased to be helping out. The restaurant in the hotel was excellent - the food tasted so fresh! If we ever happen to be in Nashville again we will be sure to stay here!

Travelling through Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, Alabama, Georgia & North & South Carolina on a long vacation and this hotel was by far the best in all the Southern states.. Best because despite the 5 star surroundings and service it managed not to be pretentious but genuinely homely and gracious. The staff were efficient , courteous and extended a genuine southern hospitality ..the room was large , junior suite style , great big bathroom, oversized tub, luxury separate shower, beds comfortable, excellent bar & restaurant on site.. If you stay here and are anything but overwhelmed with satisfaction , you should stay at home !

Enjoyed the historic hotel and learning about their history. Very accommodating staff. The room was beautiful, bedding was incredible, every detail perfected.

Beautiful, comfortable room and facilities plus excellent service from all the staff.

Great experience, comfortabe bed and large bathroom. Room servic was efficient and courteous. Restaurnt was great with fresh produce and knowledgable waiting staff try the Jack Daniels speciality drink.

Great place to stay Location Food Staff Friendliness Romantic

All the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant and bar was great. It was within walking distance to everywhere. We had a great stay and can't wait to go back!

LOVED it, all the little extras were so nice!!!.it was conveniently located to walk around to all the fun downtown. The food at Capitol Grill is delicious and the rooms are fantastic...would highly recommend this Hotel, it is my favorite place in Nashville to stay.

The architectual details of this hotel in Nashville are spectacular. No other hotel in Nashville can compare to the elegance and beauty of this hotel. An early 1900's era, gorgeous charmer. The lobby, veranda, down stairs restaurants, bar and bathrooms are all meticulously beautiful. The vaulted ceilings, huge marble columns and archways, raised panel wood walls, were all part of the details of the 1920's decor. Viewing the painted ceilings, sculptures and stained glass in the lobby and veranda was like looking at Michelangelo's artwork, simply breath- taking. Our room was large; it had 10 foot ceilings and a view of the captial building. Our bed, pillows and linens were very comfortable. Originally we had a regular room with no view but they upgraded our family to a room with a view because it was my birthday. Our all-marble bathroom was large, elegant and beautiful. The doorman, the bag boy, the front desk and the concierge were very personable. They all payed special attention to my 6 year old daughter, which I appreciated. When we come back to Nashville, there is no other place to stay but at the Hermitage Hotel.

Fantastic & friendly service!

The Hermitage is a beautiful hotel. It is in a great location for access to many great restaurants and bars with wonderful country music. My only reservation with the hotel is during the "turn-down" service they spray a lavender scent. I am highly allergic to the spray and smell. The staff provided another room for us yet I could still smell the lavender scent in the new room. One should also note that over night parking is an additional $20.00 charge.

We loved it. We got to walk to everywhere we needed to go from the hotel. our stay was too short; we will be back. Very clean.

The hotel is excellent in every way! The staff were well trained and personable. The hotel itself is so beautiful! The rooms are very large and the beds were SO comfortable! The food.....oh my gosh.....dining is a "food experience"!!! The menu is large but not overwhelming. You must try the oysters! The most perfect I have ever tasted! The vegetables were cooked to perfection, and desert is amazing! I haven't had such a perfect night's stay in years!

This hotel is outstanding,

It was just okay. Elevators are antiquated and old. Food from room service is not good. Most of the service is polite, however inconsistent. They smother you when you arrive. There were some children in the room next to us making a lot of noise on our second night and the walls must be paper thin because it was very loud.

Had a wonderful stay. The hotel is five star in every way. Staff members were very well trained, the hotel is lovely, and the room was extremely comfortable. When we needed our car the valet got in there in very reasonable time.

I loved everything about my stay at The Hermitage. The location was perfect -within walking distance to many restaurants, bars, and souvenir shopping. The food at the onsite restaurant was fabulous, the room was spacious, comfortable and well equipped with all the "extras", and the service was amazing!! It is worth the marginal additional cost per night from surrounding chain hotels such as the Sheraton or Courtyard.

Excellent hotel. Superior service.

We love Nashville for getaway and the Hermitage gave us an excellent opportunity to feel pampered. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Nashville. The staff was gracious. We ate at the Capitol Grille and enjoyed all the natural well prepared food.

I love nice hotels and have stayed in a few, but this one was the best! It's stunning lobby, spacious rooms, wonderful service, incredible bathrooms (with flat screen TV over the tub), and turn down service were extraordinary! I highly recommend this hotel!

IMPECCABLE SERVICE AT AFFORDABLE PRICES. HOTEL STAFF DID NOT MISS A BEAT. GREAT ROOM AND FACILITIES. BEST HOTEL WE HAVE STAYED IN A WHILE.

Wonderful hotel with excellent staff. Beautiful building in immaculate condition. Rooms are spacious and extremely comfortable. Everyone who works there is helpful and friendly. Right in the heart of downtown, easy to walk to all the tourist sights. I'm very glad we chose to stay there. It was worth the money.

Excellent service, beautiful place to stay.

As soon as we walked in, it was obvious that our stay was going to be everything we had hoped for. Attention to detail by staff was phenominal. The location is great. We parked our car upon check in and didn't get back in until we left. Just a truly nice experience. The only item that I rated as a 4 out of five was the comfort of our room. There is just something about your own pillows!!
